Here's something to chew on. Most adult sociopaths (I think the figure is about 90%) tortured and killed animals during their preteen and teen years. When it's a passionate, dead on, downright personal critism of an opponent, while also an unwaivering endorsement of the candidate, from a member of the opposition no less, it's not just effective, it's downright BRILLIANT. Besides Obama (who MD. Lt. Governor Michael Steele rightfully said in his speech yesterday {you'd have to watch C-Span to see it though} gave an excellent Republican speech) no one else impressed me much at the DNC or really made me feel excited about John Kerry. So far I can't decide whether I've liked Rudy, Arnold or Zell's speech the most. And the beauty of it is that they were all so different. Laura so outclassed Theresa it's not even a comparison. I don't know how you can call this convention a disaster. This has been great!

Their rights wouldn't be "trampled on", since they'd be free to marry 1 other person. People aren't born polygamists. It can't be proven in a court of law that people are born gay, either. (Not that this reflects my views, but Im playing devil's advocate here). The argument that they are committed to each other and are not harming anyone else could be applied by the same legal standard.

Conservative economic values, yes. Free trade, free enterprise, the encouragement of entrepreneurship, less taxes, the accumulation of wealth and investment of that wealth to attain more wealth, more self-sufficiency rather than government dependency, etc. These values are epitomized in American values, and even most "liberal" thinkers in this country would be considered conservative in most socialist republics. It's no coincidence, freer the market, freer the people.
