Positive spin: Benoit goes 3 straight wins over HHH without giving him the win and title back. If they really are going with Orton, I think it's a good choice. I don't know if he's ready, but it's obvious they want to do HHH/Orton at WMXI, but this is a reversal of the expected roles obviously. They did the same thing with Brock 2 years ago giving him the title a little before he was ready but just on the verge of gaining some popularity and it worked to a degree.

Um, ok. Not to distract from the Slayer discussion, but since it started as a Megadeth thread, and the re-releases are just days away, I wanted to know everyone else's thoughts on the MD 45 record, The Craving. I had never heard (or even heard of!) it untill I heard that Mustaine was re-releasing it along with the Megadeth albums, with all new voals by himself. So I picked up the album cheap, and I got to say I like it. It has a more punk feel, but it's still heavy, and I like Lee Ving's vocals which sound like a more gruff Mustaine (with a little Blaze Bayley of Iron Maiden fame!). Favorite tracks are Hell's Motel, Day The Music Died, Fight Hate and The Creed. My Town is pretty fun too. Anyone else have the album, and want to comment? Can't wait to hear it redone with Mustaine's vocals, I'm sure it will give it a much more familiar, Megadeth like feel.

This was probably the worst event I've ever attended and it was hard to be into anything. -Only dark match was some random jobber announced from local Bathesda, MD (yeah, right) vs. Rodney Mack. Mack got a big pop. Short shitty match that was basically a squash with Mack winning with a powerslam catching the jobber off the ropes. -Before Heat, Fink makes his announcement about how the lights will go off and pyro going off in just a second! And then nothing happens. Obviously told to kill some time, The Coach (who had come out with Al Snow at the Heat desk) grabs the mic and starts telling the crowd (well, tries...we were BOOING THE SHIT out of him) how we should feel privelaged to have the Coach there. Unmerciful heat. The Coach was WORKING the crowd. Finally, he has enough and says "that's it, do you want me to leave?" HUGE POP. "Ok, I'm gone". And then he just sits down and the lights go out for Heat. No joke, Coach got the biggest reaction of the night. Al Snow got a loud "We Want Head" chant which he aknoledged. Heat: -Val Venis vs. Steven Richards. Neither guy was particularly over, this was your standard Heat match with Val getting a big pop for his win with the money shot. My chantings of "RTC" were lost on the mostly dead crowd. -Chuck Pulumbo (dressed like John Cena and wearing Converse shoes) vs. Maven. This match was BAD. Total clash in here, and it consisted of Maven throwing dropkicks, Pulumbo choking and a bunch of akward mistimes. Maven won, I think with a rollup or something. -Victoria vs. Jazz. Match of the night to that point and no joke the 2nd or 3rd best of the whole night. Both the girls were really working hard and pulled out a couple nice highspots like a Victoria dive to the outside. Steven Richards runs out in drag again to distract Jazz allowing her to be pinned by Victoria. RAW -Big pop for HHH's entrance. Although we were sitting in the mian concourse and not the floor this time, we started up the "You're Not Flair" chant again that go his attention last time and got mentioned in the Observer. I think he noticed us since he stared at us for a good 5 seconds and paused after saying something like he was going to say something else, but then continued and turned around and never looked at us again. We'll get you yet, HHH! -Then: THE ANNOUNCEMENT. Now, I know they want to hype a big match for the next week but COME THE FUCK ON! You don't know how dead the crowd died when Bischoff announced a 60 minute ironmatch between Benoit and HHH for NEXT WEEK. I couldn't believe it. We get stuck with this shit, Pitt gets 60 minute iron man match and we get 60 minutes of Diva search. Tremendous. This killed it dead and was something I kept lamenting about all night. Thanks, Vince, you fucking dick. The announcement of Big Dave getting the shot at Benoit got a big pop since Batista's a local boy. -We were actually really into Regal and the crowd was hot for him whipping HHH around the ring. We actually had a large "Regal" chant as he was being escorted out. -Sylvan Grenier vs. Tajiri. Tajiri telling us to chant "USA" got the desired response! The rest of the match was boring, and they blew a handspring spot that looked really stupid and then just stood there like idiots (im sure this was more Sylvan's fault though). Interference leads to Sylvan win. -When we saw them bringing out the set for the highlight reel, the place popped huge. DC loves Jericho. And then we saw the graphic....for the Divas Search contestants, and the place went SILENT. As if the next week announcement wasn't enough of a kick to the groin, this was just another punch in the stomach. The girls got a decent pop coming out which made me question the sanity of my surroundings but I was happy to hear each and every one upon introducal BOOOED LOUD. The only ones that got positive reactions were that 2004 Playboy girl and the last one they introduced. Then, as if this couldn't get any better, we find out Jericho is going to lead them backstage for a horrible Reality Show contest. So we sat for what felt like an hour in what is best described as a stunned silence mixed in with a few "boring" chants watching those idiot bimbos tear apart the office and gigle while Jericho egged them on. Bischoff got some pops for telling them to shutup though. Mission: Kill Crowd Dead, Accomplished. -Tomko vs. Hurricane. Why is Heat back on? After sitting through that abomination of a segment we're supposed to come back with THIS match? I don't think so. Stacy got her predictable reaction for her entrance to the ring, and Trish was getting some cheers but the crowd largely ignored this match. Rosey actually got a pop for running in at the end, and again my comment that he "looks like Aldo Montoya swallowed Kwang" was probably lost on the audience. There was a "Rosey" chant but good God, we were waiting to cheer ANYTHING at that point! -Benoit vs. Batista. Upon entrance, Benoit got a huge pop from the crowd, Batista's was much, much bigger. Batista is from DC and my GOODNESS is Big Dave over. "Ba-Ti-STa" chants the entire match. Try in vain as we might to chant "Let's Go Benoit", it was ignored and flooded out by the "Ba-Ti-Sta" chants. Benoit even had some booes for his comebacks. Great, the last time Benoit comes through here as champion (and maybe his last show as champion, the crowd booes him for BATISTA). Crowd HATED the finish with the DQ, it's like THROW US A FUCKING BONE HERE, we were actually into the match but I guess nothing can go right tonight. Batista bomb on Benoit got a maddening pop. I just gave up at that point. I couldn't even cheer Benoit... -Edge's interview was pretty funny, I'll give him that. -More Diva Search Commercials which were just met with apathy at this point. -Jericho vs. Kane. Gosh Kane's pyro gets me every time. It was going along decently and we they announced the countout it was just par for the course and the crowd was getting really agitated. Luckily they restarted it. Except I couldn't see shit for the rest of the match since they brawled through the other side and it was impossible to see through the crowd! Jericho used the boom camera as a weapon which was cool. Batista (DC's new god, he could run for mayor and win) shows up to help Kane win and plays to the crowd after who continue to worship him with chants and applause. -Coach is out who draws more heat, and OH JUST WHAT WE NEED MORE DIVA SEARCH!!!!!!! The mention of bikins does get the drunk, moronic crowd to pop, but they quickly turned on it again. This just fucking sucked. -Edge vs. Orton. And if it couldn't get any worse, the crowd was very pro-Edge. Orton had a few supporters here and there, but Edge was clearly the favorite. First half of the match was DEAD SILENCE. I think we had been bored so bad that we were just dead for the main event. I mean seriously, they were dying out there, and you could hear a pin drop. I tried an "RKO" chant but it went nowhere. FINALLY it got going in the second half of the match (including a brutal move which I've never seen before, where Orton backsuplexed Edge onto the exposed rind barrier. Ouch!) For the finishing sequence, the crowd finally woke up and got into it. Couple believable falls. I think EVERYONE thought the spear was it. This was the best part of the show since for the first time, everyone was into it. Edge wins (and even gives us a shot of his thong, just to make sure the night ends as badly as it had been). -They ended with the graphic for the iron man which just filled me with an empty rage. Only post show happenings were Edge grabbing JR's cowboy hat and acting like his IC title was a horse and galloping around the stage like an idiot which got the girlies to cheer. Then Lillian asks us to give it up for Randy Orton, who got booed, collapsed on the stage and cried again. I feel ya Rand, I wanted to collapse and cry too. What a disapointing night. The Diva search stuff was just excruciatingly bad and LONG and oh by the way, next week is the iron man match. My tape didn't go on even though I set it, so I don't know how it all came off on TV.

No, I agreed with you about the Divashit. Hell I would have agreed with you overall a year ago. But I mean what the fuck do you want? Benoit and Edge playing Austin and Rock (something they clearly can't do at this time) taking turns beating down HHH? Hulk Hogan to show out of nowhere and job to Randy Orton? I mean christ you got a decent Edge/Orton match out of the deal and a fun little Jericho/Kane match. Average but not horrible as you say. I'm sorry you don't like HHH (this coming from a guy with the postername of a JEFF JARRETT catchphrase) but hey I don't like Big Show or Albert or ESPECIALLY the fact that Benoit had to carry Albert for ten minutes. That didn't really ruin seeing Matt Hardy (TWICE!~), Benoit, Cena, Team Angle or Los Guerreros for me. But hey whining's FUN right?! It's called a review, dick, not all of them are positive. I didn't enjoy a show I found boring and patronizing that I paid money to see. And I guess I HAVE to like HHH because you say so and there's no conceivable way I could like Jeff Jarret because you don't.

The point of my post was to express that I didn't feel I got my money's worth out of the show, but I guess according to you, I should shut up and enjoy whatever they put out because the paying customer has no right to complain if he's dis-satisfied. I'd be more than happy to spare the Diva crap so we could have the iron man. The point was it took the wind out of the crowd knowing from the start we missed an epic, classic match by one week. And the IC title match, could have easily been combined with, say a hot 6 man of Eugene/Benoit/Regal vs. HHH/Batista/Flair but that didn't happen and we only had one quality match which was boring and silent for the first half anyway. I don't know what your last sentence means. The problem was they didn't provide a comparable show for us AND they announced it at the beginning. If they waited until the end of the show, it wouldn't have killed the crowd so bad, and by essentially saying "we'll save the money match for next week, you guys can have endless terrible Divas segments, Heat quality matches and shit finishes" its a slap in the face. No, I didn't love it. My friends and I have a great time trying to irk HHH with our chant every time he comes ever since it made some headway the first time we did it. And the final point is I didn't need to spend 50 bucks to hear HHH talk about farts and have strippers patronize us. I could have watched it at home on TV for free, and skipped through the boring parts.

So, anyone else hear the new single "Die Dead Enough". I love it! It gets better each listen. Chris Polen's solos are ripping and there's a frantic double bass ending with "Die Dead Enough" being chanted that's so heavy. I know the whole album has leaked, but Im only listening to DDE since thats the released single. I will patiently wait to hear the rest of The System Has Failed when its out in Sept. Meanwhile, just about 1 more week until all the remixed/remsatered albums are released!

So, anyone have any thoughts? I'm shocked she got prison time actually. I think punishing white collar criminals with jail time is a waste of money and space and that fines and house arrest would be more effective. Jail should be used to protect society from violent people who cause harm. I don't think locking Martha Stewart up is exactly in the public's best interests, but oh well. (and before any of you hippies start yapping about how it's only fair that white collar criminals get jail time, I have the same stance about petty drug abusers, in that we shouldn't be wasting our jail cells on them, and that's an argument I have heard many times).
