NL is Bobby Abreu, Steve Finley, Jason Kendell, Juan Pierre and Aramis Ramirez. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/events/a.../final_vote.jsp As an Orioles fan, I'm pissed Melvin Mora (.347 12 43) , even though hurt didn't make the team or wasn't at least selected for the final fan voting (Travis Hafner!? Don't the Indians have enough all stars for such a mediocre team?) Nice to see the entire Yankees infield is reunited for the game (although that's more the fans fault than Torre's). Oh, and Thomas and Konerko are both worthy of the fan vote but I can't be the only one to think MLB put them both on to split the vote and assure the even more likely vote in for another beloved Yankee, Hideki Matsui (remember, you can vote in Japanese!)

That's last week's show. This is a good thing, because I just turned on Comcast SportsNet and they're showing TENNIS instead of Impact! I hate waiting like 2 days for Torrent to download the show so hopefully he gets up this week's soon! -

What exactly are they debating? Who's more out of touch with the real world?

There would be one candidate I would push for to be Bush's VP candidate if I was in charge of the campaign, and that's Rudy because it would make New York a winnable state for Bush. Right now, there's no way Bush wins New York, but New Yorkers LOVE Rudy Guliani and he could push New Yorkers to vote for Bush which would be a huge boon. Bush winning New York > Kerry possibly winning North Carolina...

This is good news for the viewership, but they still need to get back on Direct TV as Direct TV has a lot more subscribers than Dish...

Cosby is speaking about the black youths who are having trouble finding jobs because of their lack of dedication to education and poor speaking skills. That's who's at risk, no one cares about the set middle class family who uses some slang in their homes. Your Johnny Cash analogy to rap is flawed too, because the point is, thousands of black youths use rap star as role models, falsely believing that if they forgoe an education and act like "gangstas" they'll become rich and famous, to the point of epidemic. Again, this is not ALL, but to deny it's a big problem in inner cities is just turning a blind eye. White kids for the most part aren't influenced to "kill a man in Reno" as you say because they hear it in music. If it was a problem, an issue would be made, it's not. I've heard from many inner city school teachers who all cite that the worst thing they witness, is there ARE many black youths who want to learn and suceed, but are ridiculed and teased because they're "acting white" and thus are given into peer pressure to blow of school in order to fit in better. It's a real problem that has nothing to do with racism. It needs to be addressed by the leaders of the community and celebrities like Cosby who are in a position to speak out. Obviously, the parents need to be on the ball as well, but in many cases that is not avaliable for various reasons. Remember, if you have a problem, pointing to someone else and saying "well what about them!" is not going to do anything but shift the blame, you will still be in the same cruddy situation unless you do something about it yourself.

Getting rid of 'natural-born' President rule??
Styles replied to bobobrazil1984's topic in Current Events
I believe Mike pointed out in the other thread on this topic, how great this worked out for Germany and France when they allowed foreign born men to rule their countries... -
All to line Bush's pockets...

Getting rid of 'natural-born' President rule??
Styles replied to bobobrazil1984's topic in Current Events
Oh sure, selective prejudice will go over REAL well. We'll allow SOME foreigners to run, just not the Arab ones... Universal rule, no one feels left out, you have to be a natural born American. Period. -
The problem with 3rd parties is with the exception of The Libertarian party, they're all either religious based or drug legalization based or Communism based. That's it. http://www.politics1.com/parties.htm Olympic brings up a good point about being in California and his vote not really counting, as in Maryland I feel like I'm in the same dillema (then again we did just elect our first Republican governor since the 60s in 02, so who knows, but that was more because his opponent was an incompetent, unlikeable Kennedy family elite.)

Getting rid of 'natural-born' President rule??
Styles replied to bobobrazil1984's topic in Current Events
What if they washed clean with soap before the inaguration? -
Well a 14 year old boy has been arrested and charged with killing his father (the manager of Sam Donaldson's ranch), step mother and step sister. What a bizzare story.

Getting rid of 'natural-born' President rule??
Styles replied to bobobrazil1984's topic in Current Events
No, it's there for a reason. We can't have our President have a possible split allegiance. We can't let our relations with his native country be jeapordized, especially if we need to take action against that country... Actually, we already had a thread on this subject. Check it out here: http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...topic=50633&hl= -
I always like to pop in on threads that mention the show to say I was AT Backlash 00 live, and the show was very awesome! Everyone marked out huge for Big Show as Hogan and every time Austin was so much shown in a video package the place exploded, it was such chaos when he finally came out. Insane heat.

So, I guess you can give your official predictions until tommorow morning at 9 at which point we'll know who it is and we can discuss it and make sarcastic remarks. My prediction is Edwards.

Melvin will lift the snubs to victory, foot injury and all! (After taking a few days off for the initial injury, he returned for one at bat, blasted a homerun, came up limping and had to benched again and was then DLed. He's a Kirk Gibson for our time!) A man who as a young boy witnessed his father murdered on the streets of Venenzuela, grows up to be a star boxer in his country, battles through the minor leagues to become a utility man that keeps his name in the lineup with his consistent play, moves to 3rd base which he hadn't played in years because it was best for the team, becomes amongst the league leaders in hitting, raises a family of quintuplets and states his intentions when his playing career is over, to run for President of Venenzuela to help bring the country out of it's poverty and crime stricken state. Melvin is a wonderful player and an even better person!

Again, going local, gotta go with Mcgraw.
-
I don't know....the enemy of my enemy is my friend. If these guys think they can take him out, I say let them go for it. If they become an issue on their own afterwards, we can deal with them at that point. All I know is the idea of IRAQIS going after Al Queda themselves, thereby taking the load of our troops is the right idea...

YOUR snazzy preview graphics of the week: (if you're gonna start the preview thread, make sure to edit them in once they're up! ) Should be a good week to order, the Gauntlet sounds fun and I mark for Shamrock. Naturals/AMW always put on good matches and the Tornado Tag X match should be good too.

This hasn't been moved to HD yet, because....?
-
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!?! I have digital cable so it doesn't effect me, but this is so out of the blue and the whole "effective immediately" thing doesn't sound good, like something triggered it. This is not good...

An interesting article on Edwards and his fortune: Let the games begin...
-
And how would any of that be false? That will be Edwards downfall, when he's exposed for who he really is. An inxperienced, one term senator millionaire trial lawyer who made a fortune off of others misfortune, while trying to portray himself as a fighter for the poor and becoming the leader in North Carolina of raising medical malpractice rates that have harmed many good doctors and made medical coverage such a problem in the country. The Dems will push him as a "fresh new optimistic face" or whatever but he has enough skeletons in his closet for the Bush campaign to throw at him...
