How about we send him to live with you?

I haven't read the thread besides Mike's first post, but if this ends up being true, Kerry has officially lost my vote. Although I take up the conservative side most of the time here, I still considered myself on the fence until the elections (and I did register as a Democrat, not that it means much to me), but if Hillary Clinton, the swarmy, socialist, elitist publicity hound is the VP candidate there is no way I will vote for Kerry's ticket, and I imagine there are MANY others on the fence and other Dems who will feel the same way. And remember, I liked Bill, but she is possibly my least favorite politician and I will not vote for her to be one step away from the Presidency...

Again --- do you believe O'Reilly when he says that he's independent? Because I take Moore's claim as seriously as O'Reilly's. -=Mike ...Hell, Moore is likely a Socialist... Actually, coincidentally Moore admitted on O'reilly's show last year as a guest that he WAS a socialist when asked and claimed that the government should be able to tax us at a 70% rate. How's that for tying a couple subjects together? Oh, and wait, wait, wait....I might have missed something? Is Michael Moore fat? C'mon, next thing you'll tell me, John Kerry was the head of Haliburton....

Who the fuck cares if Saddam Hussein gets a fair trial? Really, he's lucky we didn't shoot him upon site. It's vitally important to allow Iraq to try and punish him, since it is a major symbol of the transfer of power and is symbolic in giving legitimacy to the new regime by letting them handle the old regime. No chance Saddam escapes. I have no doubt he is being kept under the strictest of surveillance and any escape attempt will result in a bullet in the back.

A marathon, not a sprint. Not eveyone in our country had rights either when our Founders first got into control, and it took many, many years to spread to the whole populace. Iraq is doing fine, and in do time they will hopefully enjoy an idealistic democracy....

This worked wonders for Mondale's campaign, didn't it? Oh, it didn't. The middle class are the ones always hurt the worst by these types of policies whether they realize it or not. Most middle class people ARE considered rich enough to be taxed heavily by these policies while the poor don't get effected at all, while the "really rich" aren't hurt anyway since they make so much to begin with. I can never understand the bitching about tax cuts "hurting the poor" when by and large they don't pay high taxes to begin with, while those that do, get there money back. Yes, the richest get more because they pay more. It's like a jealousy factor of "if you can have something, but I can't, even though nothing of mine is taken away Im gonna make sure you don't have it either". Oh, and Hilary just infuriates me. Hate every word that comes out of this woman's mouth and this is coming from someone who doesn't mind Bill and thought he was a good President (although I was young during his terms). I hope Kerry doesn't even remotely consider her as a running mate or it would be the kiss of death for him...

For a really excellent analysis from About.com of all places that details why the return of the draft is not a possibility, read this article: http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm

What exactly are you trying to say here?

It's time for you, the POSTERS, to decide!
Styles replied to IllustriousOne's topic in No Holds Barred
Hey, I said I was a nice guy! Really, can't we all just get along? The point is Mike keeps the folder alive. He's like the Rush Limbaugh of the board, like or dislike Rush, he's popular for a reason. He creates discussion and *gasp* says things that some people actually agree with! If you disagree with him, then you can state you case, and wow, we have a DISCUSSION! The pseudo-flaming, and quirky cliches are part of what makes CE fun for me and others. If someone doesn't like it, they can stay in HD and I say that without any rude intentions, I mean it. You can't change it to your liking since there are posters that have been there a long time that have shaped it to their liking. What do I contribute? I'd say the fact that I've been around for so long without causing any huge flame wars (well, save Kamui and Dave Oneil but they were trolls who were banned so I guess I was proved right on those) or any self-mastabatory HD "Post why I'm great" threads, says a lot. I contribute to threads when I feel I have a meaningful idea or information that I feel can contribute to the discussion. The fact that no one wants to ban me shows that maybe its not such a bad thing to be a long time contributer who posts with the intentions of not pissing people off and trying to become a board celebrity by entering himself in "Nominations for King Of THe Board" or such ridiculousness. Again, to each his own. I don't go around on a witchhunt trying to get people who do participate in such nonsense banned, because it's not my thing, let them have fun with it. I wish you'd have the same consideration. Sorry if I don't contribute up to your expectations though, I'll try to be a little more confrontational in the future! -

It's a good thing Dr. Tom has some common sense around here. The point of this is to get rid of posters who's posts are void of any worthwhile content and thus clogging the board, rather than "I don't like this guy and his strong opinions, let's get rid of him!" In Current Events there is a certain understanding that you can give and take a little more than elsewhere on the board because politics is pretty important stuff to some people. I would never ask for the banning of the likes of JOTW or Tyler who I have had large disagreements with in the past, yet know they are only expressing their opinions. Arguing with them (and reading Mike and Marney and the like argue with them) is part of the fun of the folder, and I'm sure even they'd agree. Even CWM, who I think is totally overmatched in the CE folder and drags threads down with his liberal parrot act, shouldn't be banned because he contributes so much elsewhere on the board. Same for Kylie's Moist Panties or whatever he calls himself now since he's a long time poster who has contributed across the board, I mean really Kotz, if Mike upsets you that much, don't go to CE because he contributes a lot more to create discussion than you do there. INXS can go though because he's an idiot. Really, I think there should be some standard that if you have been here for a certain amount of time (OMG ESTABLISHED POSTER~!!!LOL2003 CLASSIKS!!!) you should be immune from this stuff (unless of course you do something reprehensible that causes the banning). Anyway getting rid of glennsoe was a move long overdue as he made the WWE folder absolutely unbearable with his OMG HUGE SPOILER~!!!CLIKKKKKTORRIEPLAYBOYPICS!!!!! and then finding: "Scotty 2 Hotty has a sore knee, he might miss a house show" was infuriating. I can't say I followed Bring Back 1,004 Charlie Modes too closely but I don't think I'll miss him. Jeez, this was probably the most scathing post I've made here, and I've been around a long time without upsetting anyone.....I'm too nice a guy.....sorry to anyone I offended. (except INXS). -
Wait, wait wait....I thought Kerry has nothing to do with the 527s!?! I'm so confused now! http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=57222

I'm not gonna blame Kerry for this but anybody trying to defend this as anything other than a knee-jerk reaction to defend their party is incredibly naive. I have no problem with convicted criminals getting jobs in society and starting their lives over again, but there are good ideas and bad ideas. Considering that violent and sexual criminals are more likely to be repeat offenders once let out means it is not smart or safe to be SENDING them into neighborhoods to KNOCK ON DOORS?! Seriously, all of you trying to defend this need to honestly think would you be comfortable with these people, fresh out of jail, many of them violent criminals (Sorry but for every pot smoker there is an assualt and robbery and for every 19 year old loves 17 year there is a 30 year old loves 10 year old case, this argument works both ways), wandering your neighborhood and knocking on your door, especially with children in the house. I think not. Let them do clerical work or even work the phones under supervision, but giving convicted criminals with violent backgrounds with studies that prove the high probability of repeat offenses into neighborhoods is not smart, no matter which party you support.

Brilliant move. I was seriously worried that the world was going to blow up on June 30th, but we were a step ahead. I really want this to work out so we can get our troops out of there and declare this one a sucess, but the new government is going to have a lot of shit to deal with...
-
Are you a mod?
-
I wonder how we'll be blamed for this... -=Mike I hope that was sarcasm, Mike. This is obviously in response to our early handover of Iraq to the new government. This is supposed to be a democracy, right? What kind of Democracy does the United States think they're trying to run without allowing the terr-freedom fighters THEIR fair voice in government. Bunch of hypocrites. There, that wasn't hard.

Huh? I'm confused, not only do I continue to drink Dasani (as mentioned it's avaliable at Mcdonalds, and just yesterday I went and substituted a bottled water for a soda like I usually do), but I've never heard any of this "failure" or "contamination" stuff. Furthermore I work at a grocery store and we still continue to get new shipments of Dasani along with our other Coke products. What's your source for this article?

INXS for being the current "annoying liberal" incarnation in CE and Glensoe for pointless and frsutrating threads of non news that clutter the WWE folder. . -
There's plenty of room for all the games on ESPN 8, THE OCHO~!

Whoa, where have I been with this thread? Is it too late to try my own rap? Yo, LiberalFlip was such a trip and Mikey Moore is fat...because he eats...um...a cat.... ok, Im not very good at this. Quick KKK, do something amusing again while I go dress up in my police costume and badger some minorities. By the way, I vote that the group be called "KKKonservative Brigade" as an excellent compromise. We could have commander ranks and Dr. Tom can be the Grand Wizard, kind of like the spiritual leader or whatever....

Thank god this guy is gone. I have no idea who he is but he sounded like a real asshole that would do for the conservative side what Kamui and Hunger and the like did for the libs...
-
I don't really see the point, but no one thought Don West would fit in when he was hired, so I'll wait to pass judgement...

From the Torch's reporting it seems that the story is that Eddy and Rey pulled a power play to get Konan a tryout. They brought him in and were interested in him as an announcer but not a wrestler. Konan assumed he was leaving and said his goodbyes, but since he was still under contract to TNA, WWE decided againt bringing him in, lest they be taken to court over breach of contract. TNA also did not want to set a precedent of allowing their workers out of their contracts if they want to go to WWE. When Konan realized WWE didn't want him as a wrestler he didn't really want to go anymore anyway and kind of akwardly returned the next week after saying goodbyes like nothing happened and is with TNA for the duration of the last year of his 2 year contract. I think that's the story.

1. No, its actually Ryan Wilson, the other Red Shirt. 2. Probably not long term, as he won his fight with Kimo in UFC and they want him to fight Tito Ortiz soon which he would need a lot of time to train for. 3. As mentioned, Dutch Mantell head booker, doesn't like "vampire gimmicks". 4. Torch reported that TNA management has no interest in O'haire. 5. There were rumors that they had signed contracts, but that has since proven to be false. They might sign a deal in the future though.

I have to agree with Wade on all points. Lynn/D'amore went way too long, its extra time should have been given to Styles/Hardy where Styles wins clean and then they can do the same Kash run in angle after the match. Russo/Jarrett does nothing for me and frankly I'm getting sick of it. I didn't think it was a BAD show though. I liked the opening tag and Hardy/AJ was fun for while it lasted, and the main event was pretty good byt the ending is unacceptable.
-
And why isn't this thread not in Hardcore Discussion? Oh, because they'd probably make fun of you for making a thread so stupid. Don't clutter the board with self gratificatory crap that has no relevance to TNA. It's threads like this that support the mod argument...
