    Tape copying question...

(first of all, I'll apologize for posting this in 2 folders but I just realized that the technology folder is better suited for this question than tape trading and its more likely to be read too! So if a mod wants to delete the post in tape trading they can.) Probably an obvious question, but I want to make sure and figured I'd just ask here since I'm not finding much with google. I want to consolidate some tapes I have, most of which have been recorded in stereo; I want to maintain the stereo audio in the recording, the problem (or potential problem) is I have one stereo and one mono VCR to work with. Now, do I need both in and out VCRs to be stereo in order to preserve the audio or is it still possible even if one VCR is mono (and if so, please let me know whether the mono should be the out or in.) Hopefully that made sense. Please help! Thanks!

More on Roh & RF video...

I don't know if anyone else subscribes to the Observer (well I know many of you do, but the point is Im not copying all of that text, if that guy who always hijaks the observer and reposts it wants to he can though) but Dave goes in detail revealing how Rob never intended to be gone and in fact had been working out of the RF Video offices the whole time (in fact when Gabe said they were gonna change RF Video's name it never happened because Rob vetoed it). Apparently it was in April when Gabe found out for sure and he stopped talking about the subject. Doug Gentry knew about it the whole time and is considered just a paper owner and in fact still ROOMs with Rob despite Gabe and Silkin's protests. So basically Silkin has bought out Rob's share of ROH and is looking to get him to sign a no compete/confidentiality clause because Rob both wants to start his own new promotion with Doug and further more claims he will reveal that Gabe knew he was around the whole time and they want to silence him. Meltzer even hints that Gentry never really signed the TNA form since he was in on it with Rob the whole time, which might further explain TNA's banning of its workers from ROH. That's just a summary of a really pathetic, confusing situation. It sounds like Gabe isn't the one to blame though as it sounds like he genuinly had been trying to get Rob out and that has resulted in the the 2 company's split but Gentry sounds like an asshole. Anyway, the whole article is pretty much crow on the faces of all the ROH marks that screamed "JUST TAKE HIM AT HIS WORD!!! ROB IS GONE DOODD!!!"

Or, perhaps it wasn't intended as a racist term, seeing as it makes no sense when applied to an Arab? I sincerely doubt it. I live in a city with a very large Middle Eastern population and I hear the term constantly used as a derogatory term. I'm not saying Mike is racist but he's using a racist term. And I've never heard it applied to anyone but a black man in a racist manner. We seem to have a stalemate. Here So, was linking us to a German run anti-semetic site that spews garbage linked here: http://globalfire.tv/nj/04en/jews/content.htm as "Jewish History" or this enlightening section about the Holocaust and its legtimacy: http://globalfire.tv/nj/03en/holoindustry/content.htm supposed to serve as a credible source to back up your argument? Fuck you, you've lost all credibility with me and I'm shocked that no one else besides Anglesault called you on this. Or wait, did you just find it in a "google search"? Where have we heard that before?

Bingo. These people WERE warned to get out. Not that I'm in any way saying they deserved it, but really use some common sense, the whole region is a shit hole filled with insane murderers, use some common sense! The part of the article that hurt me the worst was the part where the Muslim cleric was pleading with them to not kill him and to follow true Islamic law and all, and it having no effect. That would be the only way (besides killing them all) to make this situation better, if the moderate (aka sane) Muslim leaders gained leverage but its obvious this goes far beyond religion anymore and is just a murderous cult of hate akin to the Nazis. Only no one's just following orders.

    First Impact Rating

Awesome! Go TNA! Anything that might get the show on at a normal time slot (and regularly aired) here in DC/Balt, is fine by me!
  12. Looks like I've ran out of room! Anyway, I know I quoted a lot of text but I hope you took the time to read it and learned something. The sheer amount of anti-Israel sentiment out there without any true basis to the lies behind it is frightening. The only way to combat it is through teaching of history and education of the facts...
  13. Ok Kids, it's time for a heaping load of http://www.us-israel.org/jsource/myths/mftoc.html Israel MYTH AND FACTS of the DAY! Remember, http://www.us-israel.org/jsource/myths/mftoc.html is your best source for understanding Israel and the many misperceptions held against its history, people and policies. Wrong, here's a short history lesson: On this point you are just so completely mistaken. Where to even begin... I STRONGLY suggest you give a brief visit to the Anti-Defemation League's website, especially this section: http://www.adl.org/anti_semitism/ so you can see modern examples of how alive and prevalent anti-semetism is in much of the world. I mean this in the best way, you need to visit so you can better understand what is really being accepted in the mainstream in many parts of the world. Give them a little more credit than that: Uh huh... Oh, and then there's this: In a word, bullshit. Oh and this is kind of interesting: And your point of view is incredibly slanted and just plain wrong. How are they second class citizens anyway? As opposed to...
  14. It appears the Maryland promoter pulled out after Rob Feinstein blabbed that he was still involved behind the scenes after the RF Video/ROH split. What a shock that is. So, I guess TNA owns ROH or something now, according to Gabe? (it's hard to understand him when he talks out of both sides of his mouth). Anyway this was disappointing as I was all set to make this my first ROH live event, and make the the trip to Glenn Burnie, but I guess now I just have to get tickets for RAW in DC....

  19. It's hard not to come off as anti-semetic if you oppose 1 small safe haven and homeland for the Jews (that they have historical rights to),for a people who have been persecuted throughout time and were left mostly murdered and displaced after the Holocaust, while Muslims have control of an entire region of the world.

The One and Only Bad Blood PPV Thread

Here's Meltzer's brief thoughts: WWE Bad Blood match-by-match coverage [email protected] We're looking for your thoughts on tonight's show, so you can leave a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to [email protected] Maven vs. Batista is the Heat match starting soon. Poor Mr. Huffman. Not a great start. No heat and a bad short match of course won by Batista. No Evolution members at ringside with him. La Resistance vs. Benoit & Edge opens things up on PPV. Benoit & Edge won via DQ as Benoit had Greiner in the crossface when Kane interfered. Kane left Benoit laying after a choke slam and whipped his back into the steps. Kane also choke slammed Edge. Minor Benoit and Edge teases as far as Edge almost spearing Benoit but holding up, but nothing close to a turn. Crowd is tough tonight. Eugene heard Uncle Eric say he didn't like him, but Eric tried to say he was protecting him from injury. Jericho vs. Tomko is up next. Jericho won a short match after an enzuigiri after Tomko collided with Stratus. Average match. Orton vs. Benjamin looks to be up next. They did a major Orton push, with a long promo, Benjamin coming out and they did the match "earlier than scheduled." Orton won on a roll through from a crossbody holding the tights after Benjamin had gotten several near falls. I was surprised by this one. Match was good, but I think they'd have wanted a better match out of these two in this spot. Bischoff booted Matt Hardy out of the arena so he wouldn't interfere in the Benoit-Kane match. Like Matt is going to run down and get killed the 53rd straight time. Women's four-way is next. Stratus won the title when Lita gave Kim a DDT right on her head, but Stratus came from behind her with a schoolgirl. With the tough crowd and disappointing matches, this has been a weak show so far. Eugene vs. Coachman is next. They clearly spent more time putting this match together than everything so far. A collection of comedy spots, which got over to a point but not overwhelmingly. Overall, it was awful. Eugene won with a rock bottom and people's elbow, then gave Cade (who came out) and Coach bad looking stunners. This involved two hot blonds, one who brought out a stuffed animal and another in a bikini with a plate of cookies. Coach looked bad. He came off the ropes twice and nearly fell through twice. Benoit vs. Kane is next and they had better have a good match. They worked a great finishing sequence, with Kane sitting up after Benoit's german suplex series and diving head-BUTT. He also twice broke the crossface, but Benoit won with a version of a Oklahoma side roll. Not the level of most Benoit big show matches, but easily the best thing on the show so far. It's pretty clear from a storyline standpoint, they didn't want anything to detract from the main event, or they have no ideas. They've got time for a LONG match, but you had to figure that. This was one very interesting match to judge. In a different arena, I think this would have been considered an all-time classic because of the selling. But for the most part, what they were selling, the live audience wasn't buying and it dragged a lot and felt like it went way too long while it was going on. The crowd was so dead, and they went 47:23. Except for a few late kick outs and a spot where Michaels came off a ladder with an elbow drop through the table, crowd wasn't much into it. Both guys were selling like they were dead when the match was over. Finish saw both guys do their finishers, but collapse before covering and the late covers resulted in a kick out. Finally, HHH hit a second pedigree and slowly turned over, and I mean slowly, and got the pin. Evolution carried HHH out. Shawn was dead in the ring. Jim Ross was trying to sell it as a classic and as the final match of the feud, acting like it was the climax of one of the greatest feuds in company history. There was a lot of blood, as HHH bled early, and bled bigger late, while Michaels hit the gusher, and sliced his triceps. They used chairs, a table and a ladder as props, but thankfully no sledge hammer. Michaels got polite applause when he got up, but nothing intense.

Hey, I said I have to watch it again but from the restaurant it was a good match. Keller gave it ***3/4 so I can't be that far off. Then again he gave the never ending snoozefest ****1/4 so maybe he's not the best parameter to judge by!

The One and Only Bad Blood PPV Thread

Tough to judge since I was watching at a Hooters and it was hard to pay attention at times and the audio couldn't be heard much but it seemed like a thouroughly average show that I wouldn't have been happy ordering... Benoit/Edge def. La Rez by DQ: Seemed like an average tag match, not much in house reactions but big pop when Kane's entrance hit. Cheap finish and disappointing that they didn't pull the trigger on an Edge turn. *3/4 Jericho def Tomko by pin: Tomko is so not ready. They were smart to keep this short. I'm suprised Jericho won clean, I thought Christian would run in for something. * Orton def. Benjamin by pin: First match of the night that the whole place was really into and got a great reaction. Orton got huge pops for his interview especially when he eyed that girl in the front row and then when he slipped on the ropes. Benjamin reminded me a lot of Sting in his offense both with the way he threw his hits and the splashes. Naitch got a big pop coming out as did the creative spot where Benjamin had Flair in the F4 and rolled up Orton. OK finish, hopefully this feud continues. ***3/4 Trish Stratus def Gail Kim, Victoria and Lita by pin: Yet another rollup. A short match that the place was mostly dead for. * Eugene def Coach by pin: This match got HUGE reaction and was the most entertaining of the night. Place loved Eugene. Spots where he curled into a ball and got rolled around, did the JYD headbutts and then lifted his leg, the spinning body lock all of it got pops. THe finish with the Rock Bottom/People's Elbow combo had the place explode. Just awesome. ** Benoit def Kane by pin: Second best match of the night and definitely not a stinker. Kane played the unstoppable monster well and Benoit did a good job chopping him down. The snot spot before the headbutt got a big pop. Many thought the chokeslam out of the crossface was the finish. Everyone wanted to see Kane tap and were calling for it but the rollup was good enough. ***1/2 HHH def. HBK by pin: Oh god, this match was way too long for a whole lot of nothing. Was an egotistical lovefest it was between these 2. People throughout the place were rapidly losing interest and openly yawning (including myself). Pedestrian most of the way with punch, punch, fall to the floor, lie around, repeat. Spots that got pops were the backbreaker into the chair, Shawn's stiff chairshots and the elbowdrop through the table (which we've seen so much more before it just didn't effect me at all). The pedigree and Superkick false finishes were good too but they took way too much time just laying around. There was such a dead atmosphere for the match. I didn't think the blood was so much either being that we've seen much better cuts from both in the past. Disappointed in HHH winning, Shawn should have won the blowoff and it's not like it would hurt HHH or he had a title to lose or anything. Disappointing finish to the show. ** So, Im gonna have to download some matches to rewatch but I really liked the IC title, World title and Eugene matches, thought HITC went way too long, was generally boring and not that buzzworthy and everything else was below average.
  24. Thought this would be relevant for those like myself in the DC/Baltimore area stuck with Comcast Sportnet playing IMPACT! at 4 am (and not showing it about every other week for baseball replays), but Comcast starting June 16 is offering for an additional $5 a month for digital cable subscribers a sports package including FSN Atlantic, FSN Central and FSN Pacific along with FSN World, NBA TV and GOS TV (whatever that is). So, with this package, Impact! can be watched at the normal 3 pm time, and not face almost bi-weekly pre-emptions. I for one will likely be getting it (I figure 5 bucks a month for 4 Impact! shows and whatever else the channels offer is worth it considering I spend 10 bucks almost every week anyway). Just thought others having to deal with Comcast Sportsnet's shit would be interested in this. EDIT: Thanks to BPS bringing about the following depressing interview, you can feel free to disregard the preceding...
