Sorry I just don't buy it. We are talking two consenting adults vs. Child Abuse here. Ok, what about 3 consenting adults? No one has answered me yet. If 3 loving consenting adults wanting to form a 3 way marriage recognized by the government, would you let them? I can apply the same standard to diadic gay couples...

I would have no problem making Civil Unions a national policy, heck, the President might too, I haven't heard his opinion on that, it's just that the activists are too busy pushing "marriage" down our throats and passing off any genuine concerns as being bigoted conservative religious nuts, so nothing gets done. Again, I would be in full support of national civil unions. But, at the moment many states have voted not to even allow that. There are some that do. If the couple cares that much about it, they'll go to that state to be unioned. The point is, I don't think most gay people CARE. This is an activist minority backed by powerful liberal machine trying to turn this into Civil Right Version 2.0.

I didn't put them in the same category. I've said that the reasoning to legalize gay marriage would also, necessarily, legalize incestual marriage. Again, as I pointed out, you cannot name an actual, legal reason to oppose it that would pass legal muster. As you said, you don't see any reason why gay marriage isn't legal --- don't think, for a moment, that a group gung-ho for incestual marriage won't come out. Don't think some "couples" won't test the system. I don't think that you can argue this point. Incest is an illegal act, homosexuality is not, so an incestuous couple could not argue the same as a homosexual couple. What about 3 way relationships? Having a 3 way isn't illegal either. Why can't 3 loving people get married? Wouldn't THEIR rights be violated too?

Good. It should be left to the popullation of the states. If gays in Georgia want a government recognized union, they'll move to Vermont. That's the price of the game.

So, because you say it, it is so? Why is it hard to believe that he genuinely thinks like I and over 60% of Americans think? I have nothing against making a benefit for gay people to form a union (and allow it up to the states to recognize it). It would be up to the gay people to live in a state that recognized them as a union. "Marriage" truly will open up a whole new can of worms if it is tinkered with, it's a very slippery slope and I'm not prepared to completely abandon the idea of the traditional American family just yet...

I've got to agree with Bush here. I have nothing against gays doing what Marney did and having a private non-government recognized ceremony or even civil unions that would provide the benefits but this will open up pandora's box if we allow gay marriage. For those of you that say "I can't see how allowing gays to get married hurts society", what about 3 people? Why not? Two men or two women have a loving relationship and deserve to be married and recognized as so. Well, why not 3 people who love each other and are committed in the same way? Put the language in that says 2 people only you say? Isn't that just as much discrimination? If you start making exceptions for one SMALL MINORITY you will have to make excpetions for others too, and before you know it marriage as an institution is meaningless and the American family becomes more warped than it was before. I have no problem with states offering civil unions recognized by, well, states that recognize civil unions. And any good, straight thinking-erm...logical thinking gay person should be happy with that. It's the activists that simply want more power to the gay/liberal agenda that are dmenading that they be recognized as marriages. And it's not fair to the good, honest gay people who would be very happy with civil unions. I don't like the idea of amending the constitution for something like this but I await a high court shutting down this nonsense once and for all.

And it appears the parents have no problem with the magazine. The appropriate action to take here would be to confiscate the magazine until after class, call the parents and let them he can't bring it again. Simple plan. It's SPORT ILLUSTRATED and its women in SWMISUITS. Like another poster said, he could go to the swimming pool or beach and see many people beautiful and otherwise wearing very little clothing. No one seems to object to bringing their kids to a beach or pool! And its a special of Sports Illustrated so its not illogical that a kid would have a subscrpition to the most popular sports magazine in the world that once a year publishes a swimsuit issue. If it was causing a distraction, a simple call asking not to bring it again would have solved it. Really even if it was Playboy I would say the same thing (although it would be a little odd if the parents didn't have a problem with that- but really, its SPORTS ILLUSTRATED). Suspension. Bah.

You're not a very fair commisioner if you clearly state there is a deadline and those in by that deadline will be randomly assigned to the order and then outright lie. I have been very busy this weekend and it's not a case of laziness, but a case of I haven't been able to spend as much time as usual on the internet (let alone TSM), therefore as soon as I saw your post I sent it in. In fact I'm replying so late to the issue now, because of the same condition. I realize complaining doesn't do anything but peg me as a whiner but I feel like I'm being screwed for following clearly outlined rules in spite of not being online much. OK show. I liked the Spanish soap opera, WU, Hardball and Amy and Horatio's TREMENDOUS Sharon and Ozzy. Me and you have polar opinions of Will Forte. The only sketch where I didn't feel like jumping though my TV and kicking his teeth down his throat was the black history bit on WU which was cute but not really original. I'm so sick of his crazy shirtless guitar playing man randomly ending sketches. And there's a thin line between being a little goofy and a nonstop annoying immature fucking moron who's part could be played verbatem by a 6th grader. At least there was no Falconer...

This is great news. The taped shows might be the best thing to ever happen to TNA. It allows them to give their storylines a rest for a week (which have been terrible) and showcase good X-division wrestling was some of the top names in the world. Now, they just need to start touring out of the Asylum at least once a month because their live shows are dead and only concerned with ICP...
