I modified your question a little and sent it in, let's see if he posts it: I know Don Callis was a wrestler before he became Cyrus in ECW, but I don't know any of the details. Was he any good? Let me stress I'm defending Nash the least, I don't want him either, but he's not quite as useless as Duggan or Steiner, but I'll agree he's DONE. I'm more positive on Shamrock and Hall though for the previously stated reasons.

Mike, I don't know how frequent a TNA watcher you are but I've seen just about every show since week 1. Shamrock may have been a DUD as a world champion but by being the first of the TNA era he's part of their history and from the beginning the company has stressed the importance of history and tradition. I for one am really glad Shamrock is being brought back if for no other reason than I don't think it's right that a formal world champ disappear from the show forever. As for Hall he was one of the main stars for the first 5 weeks of the show, disappeared for a few weeks and came back for I believe 3 more along with Syxx Pac. Hall always got big pops from the Asylum and was percieved as a true star in a comapny that hadn't established itself yet. Plus he always worked hard in his time there and only left the first time because of trouble getting a babysitter for his kids on Wednesday and then the second time when SyxxPac was let go. So, I don't see how it's debateable that Hall was one of TNA's biggest and most popular names in the early weeks. As for Nash, it's hard for me to defend him, but being that Hall likes to work with his friends, Nash probably brings back Hall and IS a recent WWE main eventer and WWF world champion so and without Hogan is probably the biggest current name avaliable. That's a little more than Steiner and Duggan who haven't been on the national scene for 4 or 5 years now and were never main eventers or world champions.

I'm sure it's been posted here before but here a list of real candidates running for president you might not have heard of: http://www.politics1.com/dems04.htm Like this genius for instance: Randy Crow -- a small businessman and former realtor -- was an unsuccessful candidate for the Wilmington City Council in 1997. Then he ran for Congress in the 1998 primary (spending $200 and losing by a lopsided vote of 94% to 6%) ... then he ran for President in the 2000 primaries (he got on the ballot in New Hampshire and Louisiana) ... then he ran another losing primary for Congress later in 2000 (losing by a 93% to 7% vote) .. then he lost for Council again ... and most recently finished last place (9th - 1%) in the 2002 US Senate primary. Undaunted, he's running for President again in 2004. In an email to Politics1 in 2000, Crow explained his motives: "I am involved in politics to get rid of filthy communists and lots of others." He also believes the FBI blew up TWA Flight 800 with a laser and shot down Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan's 2000 campaign plane. On his website, Crow repeatedly expresses open hatred towards Jews (Example: "Vietnam was a zioni$t manipulated War designed to kill our Christian kids and install na$i communi$t zioni$m in the Vietnam region"). Most of the contents of Crow's site, however, appear to be rambling conspiracy tirades against various envisioned enemies: "It has been 13 years since the FBI fessed up to the fact they were investigating me. All my files are classified ... In 1994 the Federal Force manipulated a bunch of mess which questioned my sanity ... I think the Force had some weird blood work done on me or possibly put a computer chip in me." Crow was upset that we quoted these various passages so he printed a rather long, rambling screed on the site denouncing Politics1 as a "zioni$t" tool out to destroy him (he even attacked us for referring to him above as -- gasp -- a "former realtor" because, he notes, he only dabbled in real estate in the past). Crow has qualified for the 2004 NH and Texas primary ballots and is attempting to secure ballot status in other states. Oh, we forget to mention that Crow has a "hunch" that he "may be The Returning Christ ... I do believe firmly that in a way whether or not I am The Returning Christ is a non event and do not worry about it at all, except I do pray that if I am The Returning Christ I would like to be the coolest, greatest, most fantastic Returning Christ in the history of the Universes." Then, he explains, he knows he could defeat the secret Federal Force (or Omega Force or whatever they're called) and the "zioni$ts." Yup, you can read that and lots, LOTS more writings like this on his website. And we call DEAN crazy!

I thought it's live, how can they decide to show a fight or not depending on how good it is? I believe they tape the preliminary fights before the show goes live and show the best ones after the final live match if there's still time left in the PPV. Ach, that makes no sense, you'd think that they would keep the main event last since it's well, the main event. It only screws people up. Well just me. Well, in a climatic sense, yes, but theoretically if all your fights go short, even with filler in between it would seem like a ripoff to end the show 40 to 60 minutes earlier than what you paid for, so consider it kind of like a bonus (or DVD extra fights if you will ) And conversly if they just aired all the prelim fights live and they went long, then technically they would run out of air time and be in a situation where the main fights aren't aired which would be much worse. Since wrestling is worked, they can work out all the times of the matches before hand so it all fits the allotted PPV time (well except that one time WCW Halloween Havoc went too long and many cable companies cut off the show before the main event....only in WCW....), but since this is a shoot you never know if a fight goes a 30 second knockout or the full 20 minute decision, so this is the safe way to do things while not cheating you out of anything.
