    TNA Final Resolution reaction

Well Keller is on vacation or something so he has nothing up and for some reason Meltzer doesn't have a report up, so in lieu of their opinions, here's the first batch of reader responses to the Observer (no I am not amongst them): First TNA Impact feedback Dave: Major thumbs up. Best match was the match of the year Ultimate X battle, which should have closed the show since Brown wasn't going over in the main event. AMW/Team Canada and Dutt/Skipper were also really good matches. Worst was Raven-Watts. New Year's Revolution is to Final Resolution as night is to day. This was an excellent show, even better than Turning Point, and it's unlikely that Royal Rumble will come anywhere close to being as good as this ppv. I believe Brown should have won the title -- it's way past time for getting the belt off Jarrett -- but that's a small complaint when viewed in terms of the ppv as a whole. --David Wolf TNA Final Resolution Thumbs Up Best Match: Ultimate X Worst Match: Raven vs. Erik Watts On a sad note, apparently Erik Watts either overdosed or tried to kill himself last weekend. On an even sadder note, this apparently influenced the booking of FINAL RESOLUTION and got him a victory over Raven, who once drew the highest buyrate for a TNA PPV in its weekly incarnation. It's one thing when HHH buries a promising opponent. But when Jeff "AAA" Jarrett does it, he's only taking money out of the pockets of the saps who trusted him to keep a viable number two promotion going. Who comes out of this card as a strong contender? Jeff Hardy - beaten by Jarrett on their first monthly PPV? AJ Styles, who already had a great feud with Jarrett, but is now X champ? Or do they go with Nash? They ran an Ultimate Warrior teaser. But they wouldn't really go that route, would they? I mean come on, this is 2005! And the booker did have his last run of success BEFORE the Warrior entered the WWF 18 years ago... Jeff Cohen New York Hey Dave and fellow readers, What can I say about tonight's TNA Pay Per View besides it was the second best pay per view that I have seen in recent memory, with Turning Point being number one. This Pay Per View gets a huge Thumbs UP!!!!!! The best match was a toss up between AMW vs. Team Canada but once I saw the Ultimate X match the choice was an easy one. Having AJ win the X-Division title again was great, so my match of the night has to be the Ultimate X with Sabin, Williams, and Styles. There really was not a bad match on this show but since by law I have to pick one it will be Jeff Hardy vs. Scott Hall. Having Piper as the special guest referee almost made this a good match. However, it seems to my dad and me at least that Scott Hall should no longer be in a wrestling ring since he is so out of shape thus he has to wear those Elvis outfits. My biggest surprise of the night has to be Abyss showing up and attacking Jeff Hardy at the end of his match since all of us believed that Abyss was going to the WWE so having him show up shocked me and the others in my house watching. Once again, TNA puts on a great Pay Per View, I only regret that I haven't seen Victory Road yet but I plan on ordering the Victory Road DVD from TNA. This is a Pay Per View that every wrestling fan should order, and with TNA continuing to put out great PPV after great PPV it won't be long until they get a good TV slot. The only thing that shocked me was that Jarrett retained the championship and I was sure that Monty Brown was going to win it, I just hope Dusty doesn’t have Dustin slotted to take the championship. John Chagaris Newmarket, NH/Hamden, CT Vote: Thumbs in the middle. Best match: Team Canada tagteam Worst match: Dustin Rhodes Match The first half of the card was quite forgettable for the most part. Piper fine as a face ref -- had more moves than Hall. X match quite good. Worst business move: having Jarrett go over Brown. Monty Brown should have won the belt, although I got the ending I expected. -- Mike Omansky

He looked fine. He's a deceptively big guy. As I said, Kash was working like a horse in this match playing small guy breaking down/bouncing off of the bigger guy but Dustin did his part, sold well and seemed to be trying hard to impress and entertain the fans...

Corey, I honeslty don't understand the AMW hate. They're pretty much the only tag team that over the past 2+ years has put on consistent, good tag team matches. They know the formula and excecute it perfectly. Team Canada has improved a lot since you I believe you stopped recapping the shows. The 4 guys put on a bonafide ****+ tag match.

Redjed, I agree with everything you said! I agree I thought it was the perfect time to let Monty go over and would have made an already excellent PPV into something really special, but at the same time I'm not so upset about it since it didn't bury anybody and will hopefully lead to the rematch. I would put Jarrett/Brown at ***. Jarrett has has many more than 3 *** matches in his career, some *gasp* in TNA. I agree some people have an incredible bias against TNA and anything they do...if you don't believe us, who saw the show, that it was good, then order it yourself. Which leads me to my 3rd plea for the few people who voted they saw the show and didn't like it to please post and explain yourselves. I'm honestly curious what you didn't like about the show. If no one posts, I'm just going to disregard those opinions...

I'm guessing you haven't watched many PPV's. I'd recommend Every WWF PPV from January-May 2000 as great shows and all around fun to watch. I stand by my comment. For the record Backlash 2000 was the most fun show I've ever seen....and I was there live, therefore it doesn't count as a PPV to me (i.e. on TV). Oh come on, just because you are hard selling TNA because it's going to die doesn't need twisted logic about how to determine what a PPV show is. Just say it: The show was great for a pay-per-view, and from top to bottom fun. It was top to bottom fun, probably the most fun I've ever had watching a wrestling PPV on TV. I was all alone (well except for my dog who didn't know what was going on) and I marked out numerous times throughout. It wasn't just one match or one moment.

Again, I plead to the people who saw the show and voted they didn't like it to speak out. All I'm getting so far is people who watched the show and agree with me that it was awesome and the typical negativity from the anti-TNA people who didn't see it. If you didn't like it speak out and tell us why!

Kash got a *** match out of Dustin for sure. Kash was wrestling himself in there it was amazing, like a Ric Flair performance. The match made total sense. A lot of psychology in tonights show which is a nice change of pace from just highspots.

2 people have voted that they saw the show and did not enjoy it. I am begging those voters to please comment and elaborate. I am not exagerating, I really thought this PPV was awesome and just a Brown title win away from being in best ever territorry. Please, do make yourselves heard because I really am curious to hear your reasons for not enjoying the show.

As apparently the only person on Earth who actually watched the show, I can say that Jarrett retaining was not as bad as it sounds. I am almost positive they will do a rematch at the next show, with 1 on 1 buildup. Seriously, Monty took him to the limit and Jarrett had to throw everything but the kitchen sink at him to beat him. I think the point of this match was like a trial baloon to make Monty a star and show he's capable of beating Jarrett for the rematch. And I can emphatically say this was NOT a mediocre "just better than WWE" PPV. It was as I said the most fun PPV I've watched maybe ever. The tag title and Ultimate X matches were insanely good. I feel like the only person in the world who actually gives TNA a chance around here. Anyone else care to chime in who's seen the show?

    TNA Final Resolution predictions

You know, I can see that happening. I was thinking about a finger poke of doom scenario but thought "they can't be THAT stupid" but that would be a great twist and a satisfying ending, be interesting to see if it goes down like that...

    SNL Review

I don't know how you could rate this a thumbs up show. Besides the funny cold opening and Hardball sketches (and a decent monologue and creative currency sketch) the rest of the show felt like it was written on a napkin with no editor because no one had any good ideas before showtime. Truly everything in between was just awful and tedious to watch...

Will you order TNA Final Resolution?

If you enjoyed the last PPV, why not give this one a shot? Are you on commission ? If any of the matches turn out to be particularly good, I might download them later. Their refusal to properly utilize their roster at the expense of bringing in over the hill has beens and keeping the title on JJ means that I don't feel particularly obliged to help them stay in business. No, I already clarified I'm not on the payroll! I'm just a fan who wants to help promote the show. I think it's kind of hypocritical that if you enjoy it you download it illegally to watch it but won't buy the show and support the company bringing it to you, as you don't like their booking, yet you still want to watch the show. One or the other. If you don't like TNA, fine. But then you shouldn't feel the need to download it... Anyway, results so far are kind of disappointing to say the least, taking in account the huge positive feedback Turning Point recieved, I'd think more people would be willing to give this one a shot. Oh well, if the PPV ends up getting good reviews, I will post a response poll similar to Turning Point and it should be interesting to see what it says. If results are similar I might want to get into why there is a disparity between people who claim to enjoy the product yet won't order the shows...

Will you order TNA Final Resolution?

If you enjoyed the last PPV, why not give this one a shot? If this were WWE, that would be like saying "If you liked Survivor Series, why not get Armageddon?" and everyone knows the answer to that... I hope. No, it's different because TNA is literally trying to survive and are still new to the 3 hour PPV world. WWE has had many years of shows and it's survival doesn't rely on a few people ordering their shows. If someone liked what they saw at Turning Point I'd hope they'd order Final Resolution if they're able to to support TNA's survival.

    Official TNA Final Resolution Preview

Dave Meltzer's preview: --A look at tomorrow night's TNA PPV show: *Jeff Jarrett vs. ?. The one good thing about the last two shows has been the great crowd response in Orlando. Since I doubt Kevin Nash will win, that leaves DDP or Monty Brown. On paper, DDP is the best match, and I'm sure everyone who didn't see the Jarrett-Brown match a few weeks ago would also think that. If you did, that match was shockingly good and it was only a shame so few people actually watch Impact. I don't know that anyone cares about the main event, and nobody cares about that title, but it will probably be a good match *Petey Williams vs. Chris Sabin vs. A.J. Styles for the X title in Ultimate X. These three have been working very hard on the match. It will probably be a show stealing dare devil stunt show. And it needs to be, because the only chance this show has of being great is for this match to deliver. *DDP vs. Monty Brown vs. Kevin Nash with the winner facing Jarrett. You can be eliminated by pinfall, submission, DQ, COR or by being thrown over the top rope. This match is needless because it forces someone to work twice. The original idea was they had no confidence in Monty Brown as a draw and the idea was for him to face Jarrett on top. That may or may not have since been changed. What they don't realize is this show is selling the same buys whether it's Brown, Nash or DDP advertised on top. Well, really, Nash may actually hurt the buy rate slightly as compared with the other two even though he's the "biggest name," given the limited audience TNA draws from. But that's another issue. This has the potential to be a bad match unless they get Nash out of there fast. *Eric Young & Bobby Roode vs. AMW for the tag titles. Good shot for a title change. Should be the second best match on the show. Team Canada bumps well and Roode is very underrated as a worker. AMW always work their asses off. *3 Live Kru vs. Michael Shane & Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels. Three strong heel workers, and 3 Live Kru have looked a lot better of late, plus, most of the time, they're the most popular act in the promotion. *Jeff Hardy vs. Scott Hall with Roddy Piper as ref. Not much hope for a good wrestling match, so I'm expecting Rhodes will fill it up with gimmicks to keep it fresh. Those three names in the same ring. Whoa! *Erik Watts vs. Raven. I don't know if this match will be taking place or not *Dustin Rhodes vs. Kid Kash. Size difference will be shocking. Rhodes is much bigger than most think of him as because he was always with the giants in WWF. Kash is much shorter than people think he is. Two veterans. Obviously Rhodes is going over. *Elix Skipper vs. Sonjay Dutt. You never know with this kind of match. Skipper is supposed to be a heel, but fans have been cheering him ever since he did that spot of the year on the last PPV. Wow, and look at where he is now. Guaranteed effort in this match and at least there will be attempts at unique moves. You never know with this match. There will be a 30 minute free pregame show featuring two matches, Johnny B. Badd & Sonny Siaki vs. Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens, as well as a singles match with Chris Candido.
  20. (all photos and articles compiled from www.tnawrestling.com) FINAL RESOLUTION: THIS SUNDAY LIVE ON PAY-PER-VIEW! Click here to watch a preview video running down the card NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MAIN EVENT Champion Jeff Jarrett vs. TBD (Nash, The Alpha Male or DDP) (Click here to watch a preview video on the main event) On Sunday, January 16th at Total Nonstop Action “Final Resolution” three top TNA Superstars (Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page & “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown) will square off for a chance to face one man, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett is the three-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion and a competitor that has ruled the ranks in TNA Wrestling since its inception. The Champion has an advantage at “Final Resolution” in that he will only have to wrestle once while his opponent will be competing in a second match. Jarrett has recently been relying on his alliance with Kevin Nash & Scott Hall in recent months to help retain his title. If Kevin Nash emerges as Jarrett’s opponent will “The Kings of Wrestling” continue to rule together? “I am TNA, I am the King of the Mountain, and ‘Final Resolution’ is on Planet Jarrett,” said The NWA World Heavyweight Champion “I don’t care if it’s the Hollywood has-been DDP, the Double-A ball player Monty Brown, or even Kevin Nash. The only one walking out of Universal Studios on January 16th with my belt, is me.” WINNER ADVANCES TO THE MAIN EVENT TITLE MATCH THAT NIGHT Kevin Nash vs. The Alpha Male vs. Diamond Dallas Page Every competitor in professional wrestling wants one thing and one thing only, to be World Heavyweight Champion. The most coveted Championship in the history of professional wrestling is the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, held by Jeff Jarrett. The chase to join such names as Lou Thesz, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Sting & others as NWA World Heavyweight Champion has separated friendships and broken dreams many times over. On Sunday, January 16 at TNA Wrestling “Final Resolution” on pay-per-view three men (Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page & “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown) will face each other for a shot at Jarrett and a shot at greatness. Kevin Nash has been a World Champion before but has never held the prestigious NWA Title. “All things being equal, I have always been the number one guy wherever I’ve been” said Nash “and that belt, well it would look pretty cool around the Silver Fox’s waist.” “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown is considered the hottest newcomer in professional wrestling by many and is looking forward to January 16th. Brown faced Jeff Jarrett for the Championship a few weeks ago on “iMPACT!” losing due to outside interference. “Jeff Jarrett better take a long look at that belt and at himself because he knows and everyone else knows that he cannot defeat The Alpha Male one on one,” said Monty Brown “I don’t care how many former World Champions I have to go through, I am the most dominant male on this planet and I will show that at ‘Final Resolution’. 2005 is the year of The Alpha Male and Planet Jarrett is way past its prime.” Diamond Dallas Page is a three-time World Champion and has created a Bang! since his surprising return to professional wrestling. DDP and his Diamond Cutter are always a serious threat to anyone’s title reign. Three men all have one goal, beat each other to face the NWA World Heavyweight Champion later that night. All three have one mind set, becoming NWA World Heavyweight Champion. On Sunday January 16th at “Final Resolution” they will get their chance. RETURN OF THE ULTIMATE X MATCH For the TNA X Division Championship Champion Petey Williams vs. The Phenomenal AJ Styles vs. Chris Sabin Click here for a comprehensive history (and photos) of past Ultimate X matches To steal a popular quote from the guy who sounds like Darth Vader in the commercial - "it's this Sunday night, live and exclusively on Pay-Per-View, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling presents...Final Resolution!" On a night that America's Most Wanted will attempt to shut down Team Canada Coach Scott D'Amore and take home the NWA World Tag Team Titles. On a night that The Alpha Male Monty Brown, DDP and Kevin Nash go on a quest to become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. It's a night of many things, but perhaps one match is more anticipated than all others. Final Resolution will also present to you the latest installment of...the Ultimate X! Called the most innovative match in professional wresting in the last decade, the Ultimate X match features two giant steel cables crossing high above the ring, with the X Division Championship hanging from the center. Four steel scaffolds surround the ring, holding the structure in place. The first X Division Superstar to successfully scale the scaffolds, cross the cables, and pull down the gold walks out the champion! The Ultimate X Match made it's historic debut in TNA in August of 2003 and quickly became one of the most popular matches in professional wrestling, and judging by the results of past Ultimate X matches, this one is going to be a match that everybody will look back on. Past Ultimate X bouts have consisted of three to four participants, and in this one - you will see "The Future" Chris Sabin and "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles challenging Team Canada's Petey Williams for TNA X Division Champion. Let's break down the match participant by participant: "The Future" Chris Sabin: "The Future" Chris Sabin is considered to be the king of the Ultimate X. He has competed in 4 Ultimate X bouts, winning 3 of them. Sabin has the advantage going in, as he has defeated the champion in Petey Williams in a past Ultimate X match. Sabin is one of the men responsible for Team NWA's victory in the World X Cup. He isn't perfect though, as last month at Turning Point he failed to defeat Petey Williams. But he put up a good fight, and defeated "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels on Friday’s Impact to earn this spot. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles: "The Phenomenal One" will finally have the opportunity to avenge his loss at Victory Road to the X Division Champion in Petey Williams with the gold on the line in this daredevil, high-wire match. Voted by fans as 2004 X Superstar of the Year and Mr. TNA (MVP), "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles' looks to begin 2005 by reclaiming the title he helped pioneer in TNA Wrestling. Styles' has also been Mr. TNA for two straight years. But as far as the match itself goes, this isn't Styles' first time entering this structure, as he took on the team of Michael Shane and Kazarian back in the summer of 2003. Styles' fell short due to the interference of his former bitter rival, Kid Kash. Shane and Kazarian then went on to become Co-X Division Champions. Styles' is considered one of the best by die-hard fans and even the wrestling media. He has battled with the best of them, and has been with TNA since their inception. He has the ability to change his moves in mid-air, which separates him from other competitors. He is TNA's only Triple Crown winner, and won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship on two separate occasions, at such a young age. Whenever you watch a Styles' match, you’re going to be at the edge of your seat, as he always pulls out something new. Petey Williams: Petey Williams hails from the country of Canada, and is your current reigning and defending TNA X Division Champion of the world. He has the held the gold longer than any other man, and looks to continue that record this Sunday night at Final Resolution. His finisher in the Canadian Destroyer, a brutal sunset flip jumping piledriver was also awarded the Finisher of the Year. Petey Williams competed in Ultimate X3 along with Hector Garza and "The Future" Chris Sabin. Williams might be 0-1 in the Ultimate X, but he has defeated both Sabin and "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles in title matches. Going into this match, it doesn't look good for the Champion, unless the Team Canada Coach in Scott D'Amore has something to say about it. All the die-hard TNA fans respect William's ability, but they do not like the relationship that he has with D'Amore. D'Amore constantly interferes in matches allowing William's to pick up the victory. Everybody knows that Williams can win with his talent alone, and does not need his coach’s help. What will go down this Sunday night at Final Resolution live on Pay-Per-View at 8PM ET from Orlando, Florida at Universal Soundstage 21? Will Petey Williams find a way to win? Will Chris Sabin remain the king of the Ultimate X? Or will the pioneer of the X Division, AJ Styles, regain the gold? Tune into Final Resolution this Sunday night to find out! NWA TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Team Canada vs. AMW On Friday's Impact, America's Most Wanted cleared one more hurdle in their road to reclaiming the NWA World Tag Team Title by beating current champions Bobby Roode and Eric Young of team Canada in a non-title match. As a result, and by order of Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes, Chris Harris and James Storm have earned a shot at the title at Final Resolution on January 16 live and exclusively on Pay-Per-View! Now, with the Triple feud behind them, AMW are set to chase history by attempting to once again become NWA World Tag Team Champions at Final Resolution. When reached for comment regarding the impending NWA World Tag Team Title match at Final Resolution, Team Canada Coach Scott D'Amore stated: "America's Most Wanted gets the title shot against my troops at Final Resolution? Are you kidding me? I ask you this - besides kissing up to Dusty Rhodes, what has AMW done to deserve a title shot against us? Sure, they survived Triple X - BARELY. I say one match doesn't make title contenders. Let Harris and Storm climb back up the ladder like Bobby Roode and Eric Young had to do to. This title match all comes down to one thing - Dusty's continued biased against Canadians. And I'll leave you with this - I will make this guarantee right now...AMW doesn't even make it to Final Resolution on January 16. Then who will Dusty Rhodes have to face my Canadians? SPECIAL REFEREE: RODDY PIPER Jeff Hardy vs. Scott Hall Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes sent word to TNAwrestling.com that he has added Jeff Hardy vs. Scott Hall to this Sunday’s packed Final Resolution card with the legendary Rowdy Roddy Piper to serve as special guest referee! “There will be no funny business this Sunday at Final Resolution,” said Piper “I will make sure Scott Hall can’t hide behind his friends, Hardy will get his shot at revenge” Due to ongoing legal issues, Hector Garza was removed from the bout – opening the door for the Charismatic Enigma to step up in an attempt to exact some revenge on his ongoing nemesis. It was Hall who helped cost Hardy the NWA World Heavyweight Title at Victory Road, and the battled continued at Turning Point in the main event. It was also at Turning Point that TNA handed defeat to the Kings of Wrestling, who now appear on the verge of near-collapse as Kevin Nash is determined to find a way to get past DDP and The Alpha Male this Sunday in order to defeat Jeff Jarrett for the NWA World Heavyweight Title. After all the chaos the “Kings” caused TNA, Hardy is looking for payback this Sunday against Scott Hall. The Charismatic Enigma knows the time is now to strike against the teetering alliance of Hall, Nash and Jarrett – and he’s even got Roddy Piper watching his back! Piper is a longtime veteran of ring wars against Jarrett, Hall and Nash and has seen the destruction they can cause. The legend wasn’t about to let it happen to TNA and will be the special guest referee to enforce the rules this Sunday at Final Resolution. Badd and Sonny Siaki vs. The Naturals and newcomer Chris Candido in action! FINAL RESOLUTION THIS SUNDAY ON PAY-PER-VIEW! The Full Card is Set! Nashville, TN (January 14, 2005) – This Sunday, January 16th Total Nonstop Action Wrestling will present a 3-Hour Mega event “Final Resolution.” After the airing of “iMPACT!” on FSN the final card for Sunday is now final. Three men will be chasing a chance to fight for the most coveted belt in professional wrestling, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page & “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown will face-off, and the winner will take on NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett later that night for the gold. The X-Division Championship will be on the line in the most innovative match in professional wrestling, the Ultimate X. Champion and Team Canada Captain Petey Williams will face arguably the greatest X-Division competitor of all-time, AJ Styles, and a man that has won a record three Ultimate X matches, Chris Sabin. This high-flying action is unique to TNA Wrestling and already has the locker room waiting anxiously for the bout. NWA World Tag Team Champions, Team Canada (Bobby Roode & Eric Young), will step into the six-sided ring against America’s Most Wanted (“Wildcat” Chris Harris & “Cowboy” James Storm) to defend the titles. AMW is coming off one of the greatest matches in the history of professional wrestling and now have their eyes firmly set on re-capturing the Tag titles. Can Team Canada keep the belts from the hottest tag team in the world? “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy will try and avenge his world title loss at “Victory Road” against a man that interfered to cost him that title, Scott Hall. To make sure there is no outside interference this time around Director of Authority “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, has named Rowdy Roddy Piper the special guest referee. Who is to blame in a shocking love triangle and just who is really aliened with who? This Sunday, maybe the score will be settled as Raven takes on Erik Watts. Will DDP be a factor? Pride and disrespect are the themes as Kid Kash faces Dustin Rhodes. Kash respects no authority in TNA and Dustin Rhodes fights for the pride of his father’s name. Two of the most exciting X-Division competitors and pay-per-view MVP’s will square off as Primetime faces Sonjay Dutt. Primetime makes his pay-per-view return after shocking the world at “Turning Point” and Sonjay Dutt always seems to up his game on the big stage. This is a contest not to be missed. 3Live Kru(Ron “The Truth” Killings, Konnan & BG James) will compete in six-man tag action against Kazarian, Michael Shane & “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels. Trinity, Traci & Jonny Fairplay will compete in the DOA’s challenge. Two will stay with TNA Wrestling and try to become the DOA’s assistant and one will not. Who will “Survive”? All this action and more is available on pay-per-view Sunday, January 16th 8PM ET/ 5PM PT for only $29.95 SRP. This is more wrestling for less money than anywhere else in the world! The alternative for the true wrestling fan, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling prides itself on delivering quality, family programming that is clean, innovative, cutting edge and with the high-risk, high-flying athleticism that TNA Wrestling is known for. Erik Watts attempts suicide...

Yeah we talked about this a little in the Final Resolution preview thread. Hopefully Watts is taken off the show and sent home to regroup and Raven is given something else to do (I suggested doing an angle at the beginning of the show to put him into the 3 way match or have him run in and cost DDP the the match leading to a one on one between the 2 later).

Will you order TNA Final Resolution?

Who cares if it's over? In a few months, the fans won't give a fuck about it because the move will be overexposed. Like I said, I wouldn't hate the move as much as I do if he were to be running before doing it, or done it off the top with his opponent standing in the ring, but as it is? I feel it exposes the business too much for me to like it. It doesn't even have the showmanship that the People's Elbow did to at least make up for it. It's just "oh, I'm Petey Williams, and this guy is going to backflip while I roll forward." Just to clarify, again, he finished off AJ Styles at Victory Road with the exact variation you suggested (from the top with the crouched over), and as for showmanship he has started using the "reelin' 'em in" motion to get the fans to anticipate the move is coming and it's been pretty over. Of course I wouldn't expect you to know these things as it's seemingly more fun to crticize what you haven't seen. Anyway, this topic can go in circles. TNA has never boasted the "most realistic wrestling" it boasts it's X division as innovative and high flying. If that's not your thing, fine. But don't try to use petty excuses that could applied to any wrestler (hell SCSA's stunner required huge cooperation and looked pretty fake, yet it's one of the most over finishers in wrestling history. Similarily, Petey's Destroyer was voted by the TNA fans (the ones who matter since they're investing their time and money into the product) as best finisher of the year, so obviously the fans like it and I've said from the beginning that TNA's key to survival is to push what fans like (re: Monty Brown for champion!) regardless of petty elitist nitpicking about this and that. Hogan in the 80s was a shitty worker with the same match every time yet fans ate him up and he made the company millions. Im certainly not comparing that level remotely to anything in TNA but it's the same concept. Ok, I'm done venting. I really didn't want arguments but intend to make this thread part 1 of my 2 (or more) part experiment. Continued thanks to everyone who votes and ecpecially gives their comments. I find it interesting that many respondents who will not be ordering are doing so not because of the product but because of financial or locational reasons...

Are you a pilgrim in an unholy land?

Oh sure..blame me. Oh wait. I voted for Erlich. *goes to Delaware to play the slots* Thats one of the things that I truly don't understand. Maryland is all for horse racing and the lottery, but God forbid people should be able to pull a lever (or press a button now a days..) and try and win a few bucks on a couple of spinning reels. Meanwhile, Delaware is raking in the money from slots and Pennsylvania/West Virginia just did give the go ahead to do Slots. I see tour busses every day on Route 13 from Virginia going to Dover/Harrington for slots, not to mention the fact that the last 3 times I've been to Harrington, which is only an hour or so from where I live, Id say at least 1/3 of the cars in the lot were from Maryland. Its kind of stupid that the lawmakers in Annapolis can't see that they will end up losing money by not doing slots since there are several options for people in Maryland to play slots if they want to bad enough. If slots are such a problem, then I would suggest that the Lottery and Horseracing be banned as well since its all gambling and I dont see how you can support 2 forms of gambling and not another. It's all politics. The Dems resent Ehrlich for beating their Kennedy royalty candidate and so they make sure all his ideas are blocked. It makes tons of sense, but of course according to the Dems that control the senate, "slots=taking advantage of the poor and minorities who are too helpless to make their own decisions and they will surely be taken advantage of and blow their paychecks gambling so we need to look out for them by banning it all together and oh by the way make sure to play lotto!" or whatever other borderline racist nonsense they use-which roughly translates to "Kill all of Ehrlich's ideas". Trust me, if a Dem came up with it, it'd be law right now.

It's a cool wrestling move that to most viewers is exciting and innovative. 99% of wrestling moves are inplausible and require huge cooperation from the other guy. It's why you don't see much besides basic slams and suplexes in UFC and Pride. If the guy's finisher was a heart punch or a chinlock it would be realistic and you would complain that his offense is too boring. Any excuse to complain about TNA I suppose...
