    This is Becoming a Problem

No, ever since you started posting in CE I labeled you immediately the right's version of INXS, hunger, Kamui, etc. It's not a left or right thing for me, just like those guys (well still is, for now, in INXS's case) come off as borderline trolls/gimmicks, so do you. You rarely provide any real opinions or insights (although I'll give you points for posting the article about the draft bill being squashed), and your incessant mimicking of Mike whether intentional or not is just grating. He has a certain style when he does it, and when you do it, it comes off as "yeah, me too!". Worst of all, though are the horrible, misplaced wrestling analogies that have no place on this board unless absolutely parallel. They're not funny, and they tend to bring the level of discourse down (which is pretty hard to do around here), and in my opinion makes the Conservative posters look like jokes, much like the aforementioned personalities did for the liberals. I think a great start would be to eliminate those. See, right there is what I'm talking about. Try thinking before you post, and yourself self, "self, is this worth posting? Will it really advance the discussion?" I've wasted too much time on this. At least you don't link to neo-nazi sites to back up your opinions...

The OAO Vice Presidential Debate Thread

Joe Lieberman, maybe Dick Gephart. I was open to John Kerry as well until he started selling out his opinions to please the Deaniacs. He lost me for good when he tagged on Edwards.

The OAO Vice Presidential Debate Thread

It's always the quiet ones! By the way, I would debunk all his distorted thoughts on the debate as well but Bob and Powerplay pretty much nailed it for me. It's never been anything personal to me for John Kerry, but you don't know how happy I was to see that smoke and mirrors, sleazy, pandering, ankle biting, pretentious, in over his head, patronizing scum of a trial lawyer get absolutely owned. God willing he will never be a heart beat away from the presidency.

    This is Becoming a Problem

Great One (who since his "inception" I have not endorsed as part of the Fellowship of Conservative Posters or whatever we're calling it this week), is obviously the son. Mike has his own style, Great One copies it, and usually throws in an out of place wrestling comment to boot. Example: AMikeSC: Wow, your post isn't based in facts. I don't care what the NYTime says. Great One: OMG!! New York Times, stuuuupid liberals. What next, 1wrestling.com is a valid source!? Kerry is winning the election like Bret is leading the invasion.

Mike and Great One are so cute together. I can see them at like father/son conservative picnics and such.

    Rodney Dangerfield died today

I think the name of the folder needs be changed. I mean technically it is a "current event", but to more accurately represent the discussion here we should rename it to something like "Issues and Politics" or "Partisan Catfights". Whichever...

Out of respect for his wife's wishes, Colin Powell has said he will not run for President or Vice President. Cheney is an invaluable adviser and spokesman for Bush.

The OAO Vice Presidential Debate Thread

Now THAT'S what the doctor ordered. Dick Cheney just saved Bush's ass; the President should be thanking God, every day, that he has Dick Cheneny on his ticket. I don't even know where to begin. To anyone like NY that says Im just biased, thats bullshit. I admited the 1st Presidential debate was a tie and Kerry came out looking better. Cheney MURDERED Edwards tonight. Edwards continued repeating Kerry's talking points, while Cheney got specific with the points Bush SHOULD have made on Thursday. He took Edwards record, or lack thereof and just brilliantly tore it apart in that sly style he has. Edwards danced around with his typical BS laywer speak on issues like malpractice lawsuits, but consistently had his foreign policy claims and even some domestic claims shot down. Edward's comment about Cheney's daughter, while appearing to be endearing was totally out of line. Cheney did not bring it up, so it was not Edwards place to bring up Cheney's family's personal business. You don't see Cheney bringing up the Senator's dead son and how courageous he is for that do you? Cheney handled it brilliantly with class by thanking him and then dropping the subject. Loss- Edwards came off as a slimy car salesman, because he IS, a slimy trial lawyer, at least. He might seem "personal" but hes made a career out of bullshitting with people's emotions. Cheney pulls no punches. He's what you see is what you get. The digs about Edwards facts being wrong, his poor attendance record, the Howard Dean comment, all of it was excellent and totally threw the usually cool and collected Edwards off balance. Conversely he dodged the Haliburton flames beautifully. His closing statement was SUCH fluff about his father learning to read or whatever. That has no bearing on why we should trust you with the Vice Presidency. I loved Cheney's line about how he came from humble beginnings too, but doesn't feel the need to brag about it all the time. Awesome. I bow to the greatness of Dick Cheney tonight and would gladly vote for the man as President. Of course, Cheney clarified that he had no further political aspirations beyond helping President Bush run the country. John Edwards is auditioning for Iowa in 2008. Dick Cheney is the man. Edwards has just outlived his usefullness. He was not ready, he was in over his head and he has no chance. Now it's up for Bush to pick up the ball and actually run with it in the next 2 debates. Whether he can do that or not, will be very interesting to watch.

    Cardinals/Dodgers NLDS Thread

Indeed the Dodgers make it interesting as Cora's triple scores Bradley. 7-2. I missed the first 2 innings because of class but came back in time to watch the Cardinals offense explode. That's a sick lineup.

    Israel strikes again!

Gee, terrorism hasn't worked...NOW WHAT!?! I mean the Arab World only started off by declaring formal war on Israel, were soundly defeated and embarassed and now commit terrorism to regain their land. So War didn't work, terrorism didn't work...think we could give peace a chance?

Trying to steal my gimmick, eh bob? Of course, the previous thread was a running tally of them knocking off Hamas leaders. But its good to see they're expanding their horizons to Islamic Jihad. I guess my Bashir ad-Dabbash "Rookie Terrorist" card goes up in value now with his death.

Army Calls Up 5600 More Retired Soliders

READ THE FUCKING ARTICLE UNTIL YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT. http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm It answers every baseless accusation being thrown out there. In short, We have MORE than enough volunteers, the only reason our troops are stretched is because Congress won't allow our armed forces to expand its number of recruits. The reason? The same reason a draft will never happen-MONEY. Its too much fucking money, so they're stretching the troops they've got. They reluctant to even allow more volunteers because of the costs so they sure as hell aren't going to give credence to a bill in Congress by liberal Democrats, meant as a political statement, that would require madatory service for ALL people between 20-26 for 2 years. Furthermore, the army relies on technology and training far more now than sheer manpower. By the time the proper training is completed-about 2 years, the draftees would be free to go before even being deployed, so that sure doesn't solve the "problem". Not to mention all the political bullshit this would bring. Just read it, it does far better than I can explaining it, even to incredibly dense simpletons like you, INXS. http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm

    MLB Playoff Preview

I'll throw in my predictions last minute here: Yankees over Twins in 4. I'd love to see the upset but it's just not happening. Red Sox over Angles in 5. Yuck, my 2nd and 3rd least favorite teams going at it. Red Sox have the pitching, but the Angels offense should make it close. Cardinals over Dodgers in 3. Should be an easy series. Astros over Braves in 5. This should be close to the end, and is the one I'm looking forward to the most. I think the Astros pitching and momentum gives them the edge. I'm not going to make later round predictions since it's kind of stupid, since you don't know who will win, but I will say Astros over the Yankees was the world series I predicted at the beginning of the season, since the Clemens/Pettite dynamic was just calling for a fated matchup.

NBA: Looking forward to this year?

The realignment can only be a good thing for the Wizards. A watered down division, is honestly, the only way they could hope to be in contention. I just hope they can keep the injury bug down since the last 3 seasons their top players were chronically injured at key points in the season. Arenas/Hughes/Jamison/Brown/Thomas could be a very potent lineup. Young, but hopefully improved. I've had high expectations the past 3 seasons and have been disappointed each time, so Im just gonna sit back this year with no real expectations of anything and just see how the team plays out. I hope Im not disappointed.

I'm calling Orioles coach Sam Perlozzo as their new manager. Former Mariners coach, has been looking for a managerial job and rumors have Mazzilli wanting to bring in his own bench coach.
