You dont even understand how much this pisses me off. I waited for this god damn thing since you started it because huge drafts like this are always fun for me. Add to the fact that i'm never sleeping before 11pm weekdays and tonight is a freak thing and i'm incredibly fucking screwed in this league before it starts. Anyone with any baseball knowledge can see that I will finish last or close to it so how much point is there in even trying when my stupidity prevents me from having a fair start in the first place. Well, make it a challenge. Like I said, pretend you're rebuilding. Make some smart trades, scour the wires, etc. It just wouldn't be fun if one or more teams just give up before things even begin. If Clemens pitches and Prior gets healthy your pitching is excellent. Your lineup is...weak...but salvageable with some moves.

That sucks. Think of it this way: You were just hired to be the GM/manager of a really bad team. To prove how good a franchise builder you are, you must take the players already on the team and make smart moves from FAs and trades and stuff to make them winners. You can do it! Maybe.

I agree, I still don't see the point of it, and it will make life hell for me next year, but what can you do. We can always change it if it comes to that. I don't know what happened with so many people not getting the PM, I guess I spelled some sns wrong or something. Nevertheless, at least 10, exactly half voted yes, so unless all 6 of the non voters voted no which would still only bring it to a tie, I figure the majority want it to pass, so whatever. Anyway, draft is tommorow evening 8:30pm Eastern, 30 minutes before RAW. It will be my 3rd in 3 days and I've done well in my last 2 but this is a larger league and my draft position sucks, so we'll see.

I fail to see how Rick Rubin can be a step down from Bob Rock, but ok. What happend to Bob Rock? Rock is working with Motley Crue on their album and "unable due to time restraints to fulfill his commitment to Metallica as well" or something political to that effect that basically says they realised they needed a change badly. Rock always seemed like a nice guy but someone more suited to make pop-rock then metal. I think if nothing else Rubin will challange them more than they've been in over a decade and I'm very excited to hear the results.

1- yes, this lineup is awful. 2- metallica have confirmed in a video posting to fan club members that the Ozzfest rumors are false (although Lars was diplomatic saying "it'd be fun to do one day" or something to that effect) and that they're spending the majority of their summer recording their new album with Rick Rubin. 3- Yes, there will be another Gigantour this year, and it better fucking come close to the DC/Balt area this year because I was pissed I didn't go last year. Lineup should come out within the next month but the rumored bands are Judas Priest (if they're on they'd headline), Megadeth (duh), Anthrax, Overkill and Death Angel. Oh yes. Did I mention they better hit DC/Balt?

So, my university announces that they've partnered with a site called Ruckus.com to offer the students free unlimited music downloads from a vast library of licensed music. We're talking whole albums here. They expire after 30 days so it's sort of like the Napster deal. It works as long as you're on campus during semester. For an extra $15 a month you can have unlimited movie downloads they offer as well. Sounds good, but my first thought is "what's the catch?" as in there's got to be some sort of monitoring/tracking program installed along with it or running in the program itself to monitor our other computer activities. Am I just being paranoid?

Yes, that's how it works (although you can continually re-download). I'm just making sure there's no known spyway or monitoring tool bundled.

OK, by a vote of 10-4 (with 6 abstaining), the Keeper Rule passes. Mostly making my life more difficult. Here it is for reference. Draft Day and time is still Monday May 20 at 8:30 PM ET. I'm sorry for the couple people that can't make this time. I'd suggest taking time before hand to extensively pre-rank your players so you will get the best players you want that are avaliable. Hoping the Orioles have a winning season, that the young pitching like Erik Bedard and Daniel Cabrera respond well to Leo Mazzone and reach their potential, Brian Roberts comes back strong from his injury, Tejada has a renewed energy, Javy Lopez can play 1st base, Gibbons has a big year and Corey Patterson bounces back and of course no more controversies.

Ok, even though I think the rule is not really needed (I mean, techincally everyone drafted in the first round should be pretty good and if everyone keeps their first round pick, then everyone loses their first round pick, and essentially the second round becomes the first round, etc.) Maybe it's just my free market philosophy and this feels like the government trying to set prices and tax wealth, but then again YOU ARE the economist, here so what the hell, I've put it up to a vote. Everyone in the league should recieve a PM with the keeper suggestion outlined into a contract I have essentially contructed to make it work. Please respond and vote YES or NO. Majority wins. Fair enough. Also, the PM asks about the Draft Day/Time. Please also include whether the draft day/time is ok for you and if not to please suggest an alternate day/time. Now go to your PM boxes!

It's funny because I feel that way more about the NFL. Around here it's like Redskins 24/7 on all the local sports media. It could be the middle of August with the Orioles and Nationals in pennant races (a stretch, I know) and the lead story would be what Coach Gibbs ate for breakfast. DC area is definitely a football town.

I don't like the rule because what if you want to keep someone you picked up off the free agent market? What if you keep somebody you aquired in a trade? etc. I figured a Monday night would have the synergy with RAW being on. If more people would rather it a Sunday night or a Saturday night instead I can change it.
