  1. Just to throw in my 2 cents: "I don't really give a damn". Seriously though, if this statue means so much to the majority of people there, then just let it stay. You can't honestly say anyone is being hurt by it. In this case especially it's a few loudmouth atheists and the leeching ACLU trying to start shit in a community that dares share different views then them. Im not a religious person at all, but I have no problem with the statue.
  2. Elimination Chamber: Goldberg over HHH. HHH can get his 1 on 1 win back next month. About 30 minutes and *** Dudleys vs. La Resistance: La Resistance win setting up flag match for Unforgiven. About 10 minutes and ** Kane vs. RVD: RVD wins with help from Super Shane Mcmahon (to build for Shane vs. Kane) after taking a beating the whole match. About 12 minutes **1/2 Bischoff vs. Shane: Shane wins. I dont know what they'll do here. About 5 minutes 1/4* Brock vs. Angle: Angle wins via DQ (since it will probably be in the middle of the card anyway), and goes nuts on Angle. About 20 minutes ****1/4 US Title: Eddy over Tajiri in a solid match. Too early to take the belt off of Eddy. About 15 minutes ***1/2 Underertaker vs. A-Train. Taker after his typical sell for big fat heel, make comeback and win match. About 10 minutes *.

One and Only NWA: TNA 8/20 Thread

Keller liked it the same too: "****1/4 -- Extra credit for it being a truly new twist on gimmick matches. Great bumps, but also some good spots inside the ring that didn't involve the apparatus. The finish was cool, too. The blood added to the visual spectacular. All three worked hard and seemed genuinely determined to win. No moping around or stalling"

    Trish Stratus DVD Extras Announced

I can totally understand this, and it will sell but I won't buy it. It will be an extended Confidential piece (the difference between this and the men's DVDs is at least the extras are classic matches worth having, rather than "gravy bowl match #247" from some RAW)

    Need Elimination Chamber info

Just to add, when it's time for a new person to enter, the lights go out and all these strobe lights start flashing and finally a spotlight is shined on "the chosen one" who now has attained his freedom from his cell.

    From The Inside - 8.16.2003

TNA went to In Demand and Direct TV with the prospect of airing a 1 cent best of show. In Demand agreed to it, Direct TV didn't.

    Official 8.20.03 Preview

That pic is downright scary I must say. I think Ultimate X will be something to see. I can't see Sting making his return without a week to hype it. What I wonder is they didn't say "Gauntlet For The Gold" (A Royal Rumble, ending with a 1 on 1 match) they just said Gauntlet, so will this be a traditional Gauntlet match (series of 1 on 1 matches with new man coming in to challenge winner of previous match)?

    Cornette Rules it once again

Here's Keller's brief response posted on the Torch VIP forum: Here is what was written last week in the Torch Newsletter: "Jim Cornette’s philosophical differences with Vince McMahon’s vision for pro wrestling may finally lead to the end of Ohio Valley Wrestling (see “Backtrack,” pg. 4 for details). The rumors are heating up that OVW will be shut down and the developmental system for WWE will be relocated to the New England area, closer to WWE’s office personnel who evaluate talent." We stand by our story as written. There were rumors, according to our sources, and since then we've been told from those with knowledge of the situation that officials in Stamford have talked about moving the training center, but the cost would be around $2 million to start a new training center and not everyone is crazy about that kind of expense at this point.

AHA! Bob Ryder cracks the Frequent Buyer

Ordered all 9, just waiting for the next cable bill to come to send away for my poster and soon enough my T-shirt!

    Double Trouble Royal Rumble?

Bad idea. Anyone who thinks this should be done has obviously never seen any of WCW's World War III matches. Just a complete clutter to watch, with no way to follow the action until the final 10. Do it like last year, the selling point is the RAW/Smackdown interactions which keeps things fresh with the winner getting the title shot in the main event of Mania.

    Brock Lesner DVD

Sounds ok. The feature is good for fluff. I have all except the last 2 matches though. I have no intentions of ever getting the Judgement Day DVD and dont have the ring collapse match on tape.

Dean's budget-balancing act left taxpayers in red

That's not right. Tyler is actually Howard Dean. The college kid is an elaborate rouse to campaign on this message board. What's up Howie! I was actually starting to think that. And if it's true, it's scary how uninformed he really is. Oh and my 2 cents (half a cent after taxes): Taxes BAD, Relief GOOD!
  16. Styles

The quote unquote "official" Howard Dean thread

Bold prediction: Tyler will continue spamming every thread with Dean propoganda. Bold Prediction 2: Tyler will repond to my post with something "witty" like: "Bold Prediction: you'll continue to spam every thread with your idiocy."

    1Wrestling.com reviews XPW PayPerView!

Although the review had a positive tone the show sounds terrible. I mean just a bunch of garbage crap and second rate action. I can't bring myself to watch XPW, let alone pay 15 bucks for it. If they had gone the TNA route and given a show to introduce themselves to new fans for one penny I would definitely bite. But of course TNA is a legitimate company trying to build an audience and credibility while XPW is a sleazy porn run company just trying to make some bucks.

    Official Preview (HA! I WIN)

Whatever, lately shows that sound like awesome can't miss shows have been disappoiting while shows that sound like throw aways end up greatly entertaining. Im looking for the latter here.

    Shane, Terry and Jeff

    1) Well, duh. 2) They don't need him. I'd rather them bring in more young talent rather than washed up veterans. 3) Good. If his last ROH appearence was an indication, him in TNA would not be pretty.

    PRIDE Total Elimination

    May I nominate Fedor?
  21. Styles

    PRIDE Total Elimination

I like Fedor, I think he could beat Cro Crop. Everyone else seems to fear Mirko and backs off and gets their head kicked off, Fedor would go right after him, and take him out with the choke. Maybe...
  22. Styles

    PRIDE Total Elimination

Ok! As I said, Im a new fan so just from what I saw at this show it was an advantage. Cro Crop gets KO of the night. Just a sick kick that left a gash in the dude's forehead! Fedor vs. Cro Crop is gonna rock!

    PRIDE Total Elimination

Just got done watching the show, only my second Pride show (saw the last one too), so here are my barely knowledgeble thoughts: -Fedor vs. Goodridge: Fedor didn't give him anything here. The last fight against Fujita he looked a little vulnerable but he was dominant tonight. Bring on Cro Crop! -Overheem vs. Liddel: This one went quicker than I thought it would. It seemed like Overheem held up well until Lidel just got those stiff shots in that knocked Overheem up against the ropes. After seeing him look weak at the last UFC show it was an important win for Lidel. -Rampage vs. Murilio: Im suprised this one went the distance. Murilio totally held his own here, and I thought he was gonna win it with a couple of those traingles and sumbissions. Both guys looked good, could have gone either way. -Rico vs. Nog: What the hell happened here?!? My first impression of Rico was that he was out of shape, but he totally dominated Nog who barely got off the ground. I have no idea how the decision went to Nog, let alone a unanimous one. This just reeks of a pro wrestling fix to set up a more intriguing match up... -Cro Crop vs. Vov: Cro Crop is one scary dude. He looks like a ripped Lance Storm. That kick was insane. Bring on Fedor! -Tamura vs. Yoshida: These 2 guys were just flying at each other! Like watching a cruiser wrestling match. Tons of energy. Ended with the choke, and I agree I dont see how they can allow the Gi (sp?) to be worn, since it gives a clear advantage. You could tell unlike the other ones these 2 guys just hated each other which helped the energy. -Sakuraba vs. Silva: This was straight forward. Saku sounds like a huge babyface and even I was pulling for him, but Silva ended those hopes quickly with a vicious punch. Anyway, I enjoyed the show a lot. A little unsettled by the Rico/Nog decision but liked everything else. Can't wait to see the end of the tournament and Fedor/Cro Crop in a true dream match. Just some probably obviously thoughts from a new fan.
  24. Maybe the time he beat HHH in the "match that never happened'? Or beating Austin to unify the 2 titles? It would fit with his character to pick one of his own accomplishments to show...

Russo puts Killings in trouble danger

I read last week in the newsletter that it was Bill Banks first day on the job as producer of the segment and apparently he was scared to death because the guy with the gun approached him as a "warning". Luckily someone else recognized Road Dog from the WWE and it was cool from there but they were still thrilled to get out of there.
