Guilty pleasures? Matches your love...
King Cucaracha replied to Toshiaki Koala's topic in General Wrestling
Sweet jesus is that funny. There must have been like 4 or 5 Viscera style slip ups in that one when they got to the 'concession stands'. Awesomely funny. Stevie Ray slipping over on lemonade and candy floss, and getting covered in mustard is just gold. Also, any of the ECW garbage brawl and stage dive stuff with New Jack in. And Spike vs Awesome from Guilty as Charged 2000. Basically just Spike bumping his ass off, but it's entertaining as hell. McMahons and HHH vs Rock, Taker and Kane from KOTR 2000. Especially the super chokeslam from the top through the announce table. The crazy ass 20 man tag survivor series match at Survivor Series 88. Despite the weird ending. T&A and Trish vs Hardyz and Lita at Fully Loaded 2000. Hogan/Quake at Summerslam 90 NWO vs WCW at War Games 96, with the Fake Sting and the Real Sting. Emotion all the way. Luger/Hansen bullrope match from Havoc 90. And of course, the Four Doinks vs Booger, Bam Bam and the Headshrinkers from Survivor Series 93. -
NWA:TNA- ANARCHY IN THE ASYLUM, WEEK 12 Announcers: Mike Tenay and Scott Hudson Once again, things start off with Ekmo in the ring, and a surprising amount of the crowd in the concession stands. Go figure. Anyway, Ekmo has a microphone and in his own round about way he announces that tonight he's challenging whoever his opponent is to a hardcore match. Big mistake, because here comes Axl Rotten with a chair! And the fight is on! King of the Darkmatch Title, Hardcore Match Ekmo vs Axl Rotten Axl Rotten works for JAPW. I wonder if they use Playstations and plastic dinosaurs as weapons there...because they sure do here. Pity they don't use anything else, or this match might have been better. The two big men put in one big stinker of a match. Sloppy clotheslines, crappy spinebusters...about the only thing that wasn't poor was an arm wringer. As usual, Ekmo takes over control at the end, knocks Axl down and hits the Flying Splash for the three. Winner: Ekmo by pinfall Crowd: 54% Match: 50% Overall: 52% Dames Rating: DUD Notes: The King of the Darkmatch title has gained in image (Well...Axl's out of here. I seriously doubt anyone will drag an average match out of Ekmo. Ever. And yet, the match is a DUD and the title gains in image because of it. But no gain in overness for Ekmo, so the change to 'Tickle Me Ekmo' has to wait a while.) NWA X-Division Title Frankie Kazarian© vs Elix Skipper Kicking off the Pay Per View with the new X-Division Champion. As the match begins, we get a backstage shot of Chris Sabin, watching this match with great interest. Meanwhile, back in the ring Kazarian and Skipper put on an even match, both getting close nearfalls at the beginning of the match. Frankie takes over control with a big series of high impact moves, before going to the top rope. Big mistake, as his leap is intercepted with a dropkick, and that nearly gets a three. A DDT nearly gets the win again for Skipper, and it seems we may be on the verge of another X-Division Title change. Just as Kazarian begins to fight back, in runs Chris Sabin attacking Kazarian as the referee calls a no contest. The crowd boo both Sabin's attack and the no contest decision, as Skipper joins in the attack on Frankie. The two on one continues, Sabin hitting the Future Shock on Frankie to end it. Winner: No Contest Crowd: 63% Match: 75% Overall: 69% Dames Rating: ** (It's funny how every move in the last match was sloppy, and every move here is hit perfectly. I smell a little haterising on my playa Ekmo. Dames tricks himself into Misawa references...twice. Now that's how to kill a running gag. Anyway, Sabin-Kazarian picks up pace nicely, unlike the majoirty of my other feuds.) Mixed Tag Team Match Shannon Ward and Devon Storm vs Nidia and Pat McGroin Pat and Nidia...are different. In fact, they're trash. Gimmick wise of course. This is a mixed tag match, so the ladies fight each other, and the guys fight each other. This was a really short match, so maybe the X-Title match ran over slightly. Pat went to the outside and grabbed a steel chair in the middle of a Nidia-Shannon brawl. Then, the goof goes and hits Nidia in the head with the chair. Devon takes him out with a clothesline, as Shannon hits the Frankenscreamer and gets the three count. Good start for Pat and Nidia. Winner: Shannon Ward and Devon Storm by pinfall Crowd: 54% Match: 52% Overall: 53% Dames Rating: DUD Notes: Pat McGroin debuted his new gimmick. It got a positive response. (Oh boy, what was I thinking here? I get a first DUD last week, and suddenly they're rolling in. At least Pat got a positive response for his gimmick. Trash attracts trash I guess.) As Nidia and Pat are escorted from the ring, the ring is set up for Watts Cooking. Erik Watts walks out, and he's surprisingly over. Pity he can't wrestle. Anyway, tonight it's time for an answer. The wrestling world(overstatement) has been abuzz as to who tonight's special guest referee will be. Speculation has brought up many names. But tonight, we're going to find out who it is. Man...this is going to be such an anti-climax. So welcome if you will, Bret Hart! And the fans do, as Bret walks out and does his usual entrance. Bret takes the microphone, and talks which makes Watts' pretty usless out there. First off, next week will be a special week. It will be an X-Division only show. Meaning, no-one in the X-Divisionw ill be on the show. Obviously. You will see the X-Division Title on the line in a triple threat match. Elix Skipper meets Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian for the title. Also, The Amazing Red is back next week, and he will go one on one with Sonny Siaki with the US Title on the line. But tonight, it's time to announce the special referee. A referee who will uphold law and order.(No, it's not Bossman). A referee highly qualified for the job.(It's not Nowinski). A referee who knows it all, knows every trick in the book, has been in every feasible position.(It's not Lizzy Borden...although she'd be the person to call to avoid an anti-climax.) The referee...is Bret Hart himself. No shock one off appearance, no surprise debut...Bret Hart. We're cutting costs after all. Bret promises that tonight there will be a winner. Overall: 74% 6 Man Tag Team Match Slash, Brian Lee and Kid Romeo vs Nova, Blue Meanie and Mad Mikey This is a smart crowd...they knew this was just a throwaway, thrown together match. As such, they really couldn't be bothered to get into the match at most points. Both teams put in a decent effort, but the ring soon became overcrowded minimalising the offense of Nova and Romeo in particular. WIth all six men in the ring at the same time, the referee Chuck Berry could be forgiven for getting a little confused. He can also be forgiven for missing the feet on the ropes, as Slash pinned Nova to get the three count. Now...if it was Brian Hebner... Winner: Slash, Brian Lee and Kid Romeo by pinfall Crowd: 56% Match: 68% Overall: 62% Dames Rating: * (Meh. I expected a little better, even though it was a total throw together. We'll probably see four of the six next week on the special X Division edition of Anarchy in the Asylum.) Backstage, Shane Douglas has an interview regarding his feud with Jeff Jarrett. And that's about it. He's a decent enough talker to get a 75% rating for an interview, so that's all I care about. Overall: 75% 6 Man Tag Team Match Shane Douglas, Chris Hamrick and Swinger vs Jeff Jarrett, Danny Doring and Roadkill Douglas and Jarrett of course have been feuding for a long time. In fact, the feud should be about ready to be ended soon. Doring and Roadkill have problems with The Network, of which Hamrick and Swinger are members. It's continuity see. Douglas seems happy to stay out of Jarrett's way through this match, only tagging in to face Doring or occasionally Roadkill. Doring and Hamrick start and are involved in the longer parts of the match. Towards the end, Jarrett seems to grow tired of Douglas' stalling tactics, and abandons the ring apron to go after him. Douglas seems him and manages to run off, Jarrett following which leaves a 2 on 2 in the ring. Doring and Roadkill hit the Buggy Bomb on Hamrick, before Doring hits the Wham Bam Thank You Maam on Swinger to finish and get the win. Winner: Danny Doring, Roadkill and Jeff Jarrett by pinfall Crowd: 66% Match: 74% Overall: 70% Dames Rating: *3/4 (The feud that isn't a feud continues on, as does the feud which is a feud. If you know what I mean.) Backstage, Alexis Laree is walking through the corridors. With CM Punk out after an attack by a mystery attacker, and Dinero out injured from an attack after we went off the air last week(that's just a cover up story)...Alexis is all on her own. The only member of the Gathering not to be mysteriously attacked. Walking through the halls, she seems to be extremely parranoid...suddenly turning around at the slightest noise. Getting even more nervous, she suddenly breaks into a jog, into a more open part of the backstage area. Meanwhile, in the shadows behind her, a figure can be seen moving...dun dun duuuuun! Overall: 78% Notes: Alexis Laree gained overness from this segment (I wonder who the stalker is...wink wink. Dinero will return from his back injury by the time the show returns to it's normal format. E.g...not strictly the X-Division. Punk has a fake injury so can come back whenever.) NWA World Title, Special Guest Referee Match A.J Styles© vs D'Lo Brown Referee: Bret 'The Hitman' Hart When in doubt, throw D'Lo and Styles together. It worked here, with the two putting on their usual stellar match, the crowd behind it all the way. Bret Hart's influence on the match wasn't felt until A.J decided not to clean break in the corner, and Bret was forced to pull him away. Showing his impartialness, Bret did the same to D'Lo not long after, which helped Styles to hit a cheap shot. Styles dominated from there, until D'Lo hits an impressive hurricarana which popped the crowd. D'Lo then goes through almost all the high impact moves he knows, each time getting a closer and closer near fall. Styles almost gets a pin from a roll-up, but as D'Lo kicks out he decides to argue with Bret. D'Lo spins him around and hits the Sky High, and get an extremely close near fall. In the end, another hurricanrana attempt is blocked by Styles, and countered with a Styles Clash and an impressive clean win. Winner: A.J Styles by pinfall Crowd: 85% Match: 86% Overall: 85% Dames Rating: ***1/2 After the match, Styles doesn't seem content to celebrate, deciding instead to attack D'Lo some more. As Styles stomps away, Bret Hart rolls back in and pulls him off, but gets shoved down! Bad idea. The champ goes to work again, but is spun around...RIGHT HAND FROM HART. OMGDZ~!!!1! Styles retreats, as Hart checks on D'Lo. But what will the fallout from this be? Has Bret Hart has gone against his word of being a fair commisioner all in the process of one punch? Overall Rating: 72% Attendance: 3413 Buy rate: 0.20 Best Match: A.J Styles vs D'Lo Brown Hottest Match: A.J Styles vs D'Lo Brown Worst Match: Ekmo vs Axl Rotten Best Segment: Alexis gets stalked Worst Segment: Douglas interview/Watts Cooking God knows how I got 72% rating for this...two DUD matches, only one average or above. Styles/D'Lo and the segments saved the show. Next week it's an all X-Division show. Kazarian/Sabin/Skipper. Red/Saiki. Styles defending the World Title. No Ekmo. Hopefully this will all equal ratings.

Dinero is injured right now, and Punk's playing injury from the sneak attack. Plus Raven costs money per show, so I'm not using him as often as the written contracted guys. Anyway, it's been a slow week for NWA:TNA. By slow...I mean nothing has happened. No injuries, no incidents, no e-mails of any note. Nothing. So, on to... *NEXT WEEK'S PREVIEW* ~It's the big one this week. D'Lo Brown one on one versus A.J Styles, which hopefully will bring in the money. This time however, there won't be the controversy of week 10's encounter. A special guest referee will be appointed for this match. Although, in true match hyping style, the referee is still not known. You'll have to watch to find out who it is. See...the buyrates should come flooding in now. ~Will Bret Hart mention the identity of the special guest referee during his appearance on Watts Cooking this week? Bret apparantely has a few situations to address, and will do so this week. He may even announce who the special guest referee for the main event between A.J Styles and D'Lo Brown is. ~Shane Douglas had a rough time with Jeff Jarrett again last week. Jarrett and Douglas got into a brawl during the new talk show segment 'Watts Cooking', causing a Watts/Douglas match to be made. Jarrett was made the referee and administered a quick count. Let's hope the referee for the main event does not do the same(order the show and I'll stop mentioning it!). Douglas did hit the Franchiser on Jarrett to end the show however. This leads on to this week. A special six man tag team match has been booked featuring the two. Douglas teams with Network duo Chris Hamrick and Swinger to take on Jarrett, Danny Doring and Roadkill. Doring and Roadkill will be looking for revenge on Hamrick and Swinger from recent week's events, meaning it is likely Douglas and Jarrett will be allowed to go one on one for vast parts of the match. ~Frankie Kazarian is the new NWA:TNA X-Division Champion. After beating Chris Sabin last week, week 12 marks his first title defence, going one on one with Elix Skipper. But will Chris Sabin be inclined to get involved and attack the man who took his title? ~Ekmo's King of the Deathmatch challenge continues. Last week NOSAWA could not earn himself a TNA contract at Ekmo's expence. Another outsider will attempt to take the title from Ekmo, or at least impress commisioner Bret Hart. But Ekmo has provided an extremely tough test...can anyone dethrone him?(Can anyone drag an average match out of his samoan ass?) ~Nidia and her new 'romantic interest' Pat McGroin debuted last week. This week, a special mixed tag team match wil feature the two teaming against Shannon Ward and Devon Storm. ~Also, another six man tag team match will see Nova, The Blue Meanie and Mad Mikey taking on Brian Lee, Slash and Kid Romeo.

Ok...Mark Henry was Smackdown last time he was around. So they just say Bradshaw got traded for Henry. It goes against the freezing of trades angle they did...but that was about 6 months ago, so no-one will remember! Oh, and Mark Henry is more valuable than most hosses his size. Not only is he a legitimate strongman and thus can be used promotionally for mainstream attention(to a certain point), but he has a decent amount of charisma. This isn't neccesarily a bad thing.

Definately. Spike was F'n crazy in ECW. I still remember the flaming table bump he took when he and Balls won the Tag Belts from the Dudleyz on the Duds last night in ECW. First guy I ever saw do that. Crazy shit.

NWA:TNA- ANARCHY IN THE ASYLUM, WEEK 11 Announcers: Mike Tenay and Scott Hudson Ekmo stands in the ring, ready to defend his KOTD Title, but still not knowing his opponent. He waits in the ring, as his opponent walks down...and it's MLW regular NOSAWA. Yes, he spells his name with capitals. Like HHH or...SCSA. Even they probably can't get a **1/2 match out of Ekmo. King of the Darkmatch Title Ekmo vs NOSAWA Man...the crowd was DEAD to kick this show off. NOSAWA came in and put in some decent offense, even getting a near fall off a 'high kick'. Since when did Dames become the Eric Bischoff of commentating? But still, Ekmo weathered it all and took the numerous buzzsaw like kicks from NOSAWA before hitting a big time flapjack. The big man promptly went up top and hit the still as yet unrenamed Flying Splash for the three count and retains the (other)KOTD Title. Winner and still KOTD: Ekmo Crowd: 33% Match: 66% Overall: 49% Dames Rating: *1/2 Notes: The King of the Darkmatch title has gained in image (What a surprise...even a great wrestler like NOSAWA couldn't get a **1/2 match out of Ekmo. But then again..maybe I don't want anyone to.) Kicking off the PPV, here comes Commisioner Bret. He quickly announces NOSAWA didn't impress, so he's gone. So all rounder NOSAWA's gone...yet Pat McGroin gets a contract. Welcome to the mad world of TNA. Anyway, Bret promised he'd sort out the D'Lo/Styles situation...and he will. Next week, the rematch will occur. D'Lo versus Styles one more time. But to avoid all the referee mistakes and corrections, Bret will appoint a guest referee next week. Bret then leaves, as the 'OMG who's the ref gonna be omgdz!!1!!' speculation from Tenay and Hudson starts. Overall: 81% Notes: D'Lo Brown gained overness from this segment (Damn...I could probably run D'Lo over with a truck and he'd gain overness from it. Tune in next week, for blatant hints on who the referee will be and then an anticlimactic announcement on who the referee will be about an hour after you've all realised who the referee is. Ratings gold I tell ya.) Low Ki vs James Storm These two have been feuding for God knows how long in tag team competition, but tonight it's one on one because Christopher Daniels is in Japan this week, and Chris Harris is still rehabbing. Both men for-go the usual feeling out period, seeing as they've had plenty of matches and confrontations before, and do battle with hard chops to start. Low Ki of course gets the advantage, controlling the match's pace and taking Storm through the mill. Storm nearly gets a shock win with first a high angle DDT, and then the Powerslam. Ever the veteran, Low Ki fights back hitting a series of high impact moves. Following a powerbomb, he quickly hooks on the Dragon Clutch, and Storm taps out. Winner: Low Ki by tap out Crowd: 60% Match: 75% Overall: 67% Dames Rating: *3/4 (Storm does the job to Low Ki. Usually it's his makeshift partner of the week. Oh well, Daniels is back next week...god knows how long Harris is in rehab for.) Swinger vs Danny Doring This one has a history. Albeit a brief one. Last week Swinger and Chris Hamrick beat Doring and Roadkill, thanks to Network leader Don Callis. Now, it's one on one. The two put on a good ten minute match, going to show given the time these guys can put on a good match. Swinger starts off on the offensive and as heel dominates the match, using some big time offensive moves in the process. Doring gets his share of offence himself, and starts to come back into the match as suddenly Chris Hamrick charges down the aisle. Jumping to the apron, Hamrick drops Doring across the top rope allowing Swinger to creep up behind and hit the Swing Thing for a cheap win. Winner: Swinger by pinfall Crowd: 60% Match: 83% Overall: 71% Dames Rating: **1/2 After the match, Hamrick enters the ring and puts a booting to Danny Doring, drawing some welcomed heat from the crowd. Suddenly, Roadkill sprints out from the back and hits a springboard double clothesline like only he can...considering his weight and all. The Network duo scurry, as Roadkill and Doring are up and throwing out the threats. (Doring is saved from a beatdown...this one isn't over. It's not a 'real' feud though, I'm just drawing this out until Simon Diamond returns at the end of the month.) After a commercial for next week's show(A.J Styles vs D'Lo Brown, mystery special referee), we come back to the ring. Erik Watts is stood centre stage, ready for his new talk show segment...'Watts Cooking'. Those creative guys...pure genious. Watts explains that Glenn Gilberti's show was dropped because as his pay demands grew, his charisma dropped. Oooh...a cheap shot. Maybe more than meets the eye...wink wink. But Watts isn't out here to talk about Glen Gilbernetti. He's here to invite out Shane Douglas and Jeff Jarrett. First up, guest number 1...Shane Douglas! The obligatory Perfect Strangers rip-off/cover starts up, but there's no sign of Douglas. Watts shrugs it off, and invites out Jeff Jarrett, who does walk out. It's just Jarrett and Douglas in the ring, and Jarrett takes the advantage, talking up his attack last week. Suddenly, out walks Shane Douglas. Whever he was late or just building up suspence...not known. Anyway, Douglas enters and threatens to destroy Jeff Jarrett and run his ass out of the NWA:TNA. Jarrett laughs, saying not only is he 'The Chosen One'...he's also 'The Unsackable One'. He'll be in his cold, cold grave before he leaves NWA:TNA. Douglas says that can be arranged...and attacks! Jarrett and Douglas start brawling, as Erik Watts tries to intervene, but gets smacked with an elbow from Douglas. Douglas continues to attack, but is spun around and hit with a right hand from Erik Watts! Douglas promptly runs off, as Watts challenges Douglas to go one on on with him tonight. A nod of the head accepts, and we're on for our main event. Overall: 73% (Watts vs Douglas= ratings. No doubt about it. Ok...maybe not, but the 'Watts Cooking' segment got off to a good start, so it may very well become a regular.) Three Way Dance New Jack and Sandman vs The Hotshots vs Ace in the Hole ECW...ECW...ECW. Sorry...it's addictive. Sandman and Siaki start off, and a flurry of quick tags through the start of the match seem to confuse the fans a little, as well as slowing down the pace of the match. In amongst the many tags, New Jack manages to eliminate The Hotshots with a side suplex on Chase. Yes...a side suplex. Hard to imagine I know, but New Jack does know a wrestling move. Down to the ECW guys and Ace in the Hole, Young and Siaki quickly keep down New Jack after the elimination. New Jack eventually escapes the two on one situation, and tags in the Sandman. Say what you will, he's still over. Taking out both Ace in the Hole members, Sandman hits a russian legsweep, as New Jack flies with the headbutt and gets the three for an easy win. Winners: The Sandman and New Jack by pinfall Crowd: 54% Match: 66% Overall: 60% Dames Rating: 3/4* (New Jack and Sandman...the workrate team of the new millenium. Was it ever in doubt they'd win? Judging from the crowd reaction...no.) Backstage, someone is walking through the hallways. That someone...well, it's not known who he is. But he must be a wrestler...there's a camera following him. And he's wearing wrestling gear. As he walks, a smile slowly appears on his face. Either he enjoys the sensation of chaffing lycra(but then again, who doesn't), or he's seen something he likes. Obviously, it's the latter as he walks over to a women with her back to the camera and holds his hands over her eyes. 'Guess who'. 'Err...Pat McGroin?' 'Oh, sorry Lizzy...I thought this was NWA:TNA, not XPW'. No...it's not Lizzy...the women turns around, and it's former WWE diva NIDIA! The capital letters show your shock. Nidia smiles, and says the name again Pat McGroin. He goes to do so, but is stopped at first base. See...that's his gimmick. You say his name, he tries to pat your groin. Oh...the hilarity. I knew Russo had a use somewhere in him. Pat and Nidia walk off together...while somewhere, Jamie Noble weeps. And jobs. To Mike Sanders. Overall: 61% Notes: Pat McGroin gained overness from this segment (Nidia and Pat McGroin really make a nice couple, don't you think. X-Division Title Chris Sabin© vs Frankie Kazarian These two have been 'feuding' since week 1. I say 'feuding'...I kinda forgot about the feud for the past few weeks. But Kazarian gets his shot at the X Title again, and these two supposedly have good chemistry together. A little bit of a slow start wuitens down the crowd slightly, but eventually the pace picks up. Sabin uses some educated feet to take advantage to start, Kazarian fights back with a chop to the outside and a plancha. TNA chants for that. Back in the ring, each man has to go to school after basement dropkicks...Frankie hits a Tornado DDT both before and after a Sabin fight back. In the end, the Future Shock is blocked, and reversed into a Wave of the Future by Kazarian, but Frankie can't capitalise. The crowd get on their feet for the final stages, both men weakened Sabin gets caught in the corner and rolled up for a CLOSE two. Sabin then misses a clothesline, and a second Wave of the Future gets a one two three, a win and a new X-Division Champion. Sabin leaves the ring, as meanwhile Kazarian celebrates long and hard with his newly won belt. Winner and NEW X-Division Champion: Frankie Kazarian by pinfall Crowd: 63% Match: 72% Overall: 67% Dames Rating: *1/2 Notes: The NWA X title has gained in image (I switched the belt just to shake things up a bit. Maybe we'll see a rematch next week...) Main Event time, Erik Watts is in the ring when suddenly Jeff Jarrett's music hits. Even Watts looks confused as Jarrett walks out...wearing a referee's shirt. See...it helps to be related to the boss. Main Event, Special Guest Referee Match Erik Watts vs Shane Douglas Referee: Jeff Jarrett As Douglas walks down, he doesn't look best pleased with the selection of referee. Could be worse. It could be one of his enemies. I would list them, but it's a looong list. Jarrett indeed becomes a factor in the match before long, drawing Douglas' ire early. A couple of minutes in, Douglas starts up with right hands, reeling back further with each punch. The last one, reeling back so much he 'accidentely' elbows Jarrett in the face. Jarrett gets his own back, by going down...and staying down as Douglas hits a spinebuster and goes for a pin. It becomes obvious Jarrett was playing possum, as he leaps up to count a two from a Watts roll-up seconds later. Douglas manages to hit a middle rope bulddog, but gets a slow count. And by slow count, I'm talking Randy Orton style slow count. That's not a cheap pop at Orton btw. Anyway, back to the match, Watts catches a roll-up and Jarrett gives a lightning quick count to screw Douglas over and get the three. Winner: Erik Watts by pinfall Crowd: 71% Match: 47% Overall: 63% Dames Rating: DUD After the match, Jarrett and Watts go to leave, but Douglas drags Jarrett back. The Chosen One responds with a right hand, but promptly gets a lowblow from Douglas. Douglas then spins Jarrett round and nails the Franchiser, managing to escape the ring before Erik Watts can make the save. (A nice big DUD for that. To coin a phrase from the Simpsons...worst...rating...ever. For Anarchy in the Asylum at least. But then, I wasn't expecting a five star classic.) Overall Rating: 67% Attendance: 3399 Buy rate: 0.20 Best Match: Danny Doring vs Swinger Hottest Match: Shane Douglas vs Erik Watts Worst Match: Shane Douglas vs Erik Watts Best Segment: Bret signs D'Lo/Styles next week Worst Segment: Nidia and Pat McGroin debut The rating drops down again after it's recent rises. That what you get for a Watts/Douglas main event I guess. Next week it's D'Lo versus Styles, with a mystery referee. Will the title change hands? Who will the referee be? Will I give you any clues? Find out by reading next week. Comments?

Pity they couldn't get Fleisch as well. Storm versus Fleisch...ratings. Could be worse, but I still have no clue on Teddy Hart or any desire to watch him. NOSAWA I only know from EWR... Which reminds me to cheap plug my NWA:TNA EWR diary in the fantasy booking section...thank you... Anyway, my prediction is it'll probably end up Shane/Sabin. Give them a reason for putting Shane against Sabin.

When they did Angle/Lesnar/Gowen vs. Show/TWGTT, and Gowen wasn't portrayed from the beginning as an obvious handicap for the faces, I took it to mean he was their equal. I don't know whever you just proved my point by implying he HAS to be a handicap, or not. I'll take it as not as you probably mean Gowen the midcarder not Gowen the one legged kid.

Well, it's my usual between shows post. And first up this week, it's hirings/firings again. As per the stipulation, Alter Boy Luke is gone from his contract. I wasn't using him, so I had no need to keep him around. Also gone is Justin Credible who I wasn't going to use again on the money he was on. In however comes 'Dirty' Dutch Mantell, he of WCW Worldwide commentary about 13 years ago, and he who used to be Uncle Zebekiah. He was either with the Godwinns or Justin Bradshaw, can't remember. But he's supposed to be a good manager, so he's in. And in my search for the next guy to job to Ekmo, I stumbled upon a wrestler called Pat McGroin. His finisher is the 'McGroinanator'. How in the hell could I not sign him up? He's now a regular on the roster, and avoids the Ekmo job. Question is, do they factor in the... *NEXT WEEK'S PREVIEW* ~Last week was week 10...and it was D'Lo/Styles for the World Title. A.J Styles snuck out a win thanks to a reverse decision, when Brian Hebner(boo!!!) informed match referee Mark Johnson of D'Lo use of the brass knuckles. Brass knuckles brought into the match by Styles himself. Commisioner Bret Hart has promised an announcement on the situation this week. ~The feud between Shane Douglas and Jeff Jarrett rages on and on, both men wanting to end the others' careers seemingly. Both have been invited to be the guests on new talk show 'Watts Cooking' with host Erik Watts(duh), but whever they'll show up or not is not known. ~Christopher Daniels is in Japan with NJPW currently. This allows Low Ki a chance to get singles action again, one on one with rival James Storm. ~Chris Sabin has defended the X-Division Title with honour in recent weeks. This week, he faces Frankie Kazarian for the X-Division Championship, who on Anarchy in the Asylum week 1 pinned Sabin in a tag team match. The crunch test is this week for Frankie...can he win in one on one conditions? ~Ekmo tore apart Alter Boy Luke last week, but has been promised a tougher test this week. Who will be coming in to try and earn a TNA contract this week? ~Also, a good ole' ECW style three way dance(without the hardcoreness of course). The Sandman and New Jack team together as The Hot Shots and Ace in the Hole are their opposition. Swinger goes one on one with Danny Doring. All this and more from NWA:TNA in Anarchy in the Asylum week 11.

No, it's Gowen's fault. Well, it is Gowen's fault. God, thank you AS. Here was me thinking it was Vince and the booking team's fault for not building up the main event well and putting the emphasis on the Gowen match. . Gowen was the one who despite having most of he promotions hype machine and a top star push (presented as equal to Angle/Brock/Show/TWGTT) couldn't get enough people to care about him. And when about 45 minutes of the two hour show and half the PPV hype is centered on you, you sure as fuck better get more than a tepid ass reaction. That's why the Angle 2001 face reign is such a disaster. He failed to get the crowd behind him as top face. Blame the writers all you want, but at some point part of the responsibility falls on the wrestler himself. And Gowen failed. If the show was built the same way but more people cared about Gowen, the buyrate would be better. Ok...I'm safe in the knowledge you never/rarely watched NWA:TNA, so obviously you don't realise that Gowen can be booked well. When in TNA, he was pushed as another wrestler. No freak show act, no miracle of life. Basically, it worked because they didn't go over the top. TNA week 30 he faced BG James. A quote from Dames Diatribe... Direct quote. That was because he had one dark match, and got a believable win because it wasn't clean. As far as booked as equal to those names you mentioned...they boobed. They tried to use the big guns to get him over quick. Basically, they went the wrong route. If they let him get over on his own morals, he would have done. History proves it. But they tried to use the big guns to get him over. A 'top-line feud' doesn't have to mean a 'good top-line feud'. I realise your point. He was over-pushed. The big pushes beside Hogan and then Angle/Lesnar killed him around here. And now no-one will hear a good word about him for fear of being ripped apart for liking 'the one legged push boy'. But you see, he wasn't pushed as equal. He got ONE WIN over Big Show, with an assist from Lesnar/Angle. How come a win over Taker by Cena, with A-Train assisting is the biggest cheap win ever...yet everyone tries to play down the interference from Angle and Lesnar in the handicap match? He has one ONE match out of FOUR, and that was with a DOUBLE assist. You wanted him busted down to the midcard where he belongs. He is in the midcard, and he is on a four match losing streak. They've de-pushed him now. He could have got over on his own morals. But when you push someone as a cripple, that's what you get. The blame can't be totally put on Gowen like you want...I'm pretty sure he didn't ask to be booked as a cripple fan who gets a contract by winning a handicap over a HV Title #1 Contender.

Oh...my...god... Pure, unadulterated...GREATNESS. Indeed.
-
And how long before Dreamer followed him. And how GREAT would that be?
-
No, it's Gowen's fault. Well, it is Gowen's fault. God, thank you AS. Here was me thinking it was Vince and the booking team's fault for not building up the main event well and putting the emphasis on the Gowen match. But all along...GOWEN was the one who put out the advertisements. Probably filmed them as well to make himself look good. Well THANKS AS! I was starting to like Gowen again now he's in the midcard, but you're here to keep reminding us all to hate the one legged guy. Thank god you're here.
-
What's not to love? He's a big fat samoan who wears fake leather baseball shirts. In other words, he sucks...but he sucks so badly it's a good type of suck. For example, Jeff Hardy in RoH. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. It's appreciated.

NWA:TNA- ANARCHY IN THE ASYLUM, WEEK 10 Announcers: Mike Tenay and Scott Hudson Wow, what a way to kick-off... King of the Darkmatch Title Ekmo© vs Alter Boy Luke Aler Boy Luke has his chance...drag a good match out of Ekmo, or win the match...if he fails in both, he's out. Well, Ekmo dominates. And I mean dominates, Alter Boy gets almost no offence in the whole match. Ekmo just dominates him and hits the still unchanged 'Flying Splash' for a comprehensive three. Looks like Alter Boy's going to be spending more time in XPW. Winner and still KOTD: Ekmo by pinfall Crowd: 49% Match: 59% Overall: 54% Dames Rating: 1/4* Notes: The King of the Darkmatch title has gained in image Swinger and Chris Hamrick vs Doring and Roadkill Swinger and Hamrick are teaming together, because Simon Diamond is injured...and so is Abyss. So the Network is down to four, one of those being the manager Cyrus. Hamrick, Roadkill and Doring were of course emerging ECW stars before it went bust, and Roadkill and Doring especially are looking to rekindle their success. Roadkill's awesome agility and power combination take The Network duo out of their game early, but Swinger and Hamrick soon learn and manage to cut the ring off from Doring. As usual, a hot tag brings on a four man brawl. The referee Brian Hebner(boo!) gets distracted by Doring and Swinger's brawling, as Cyrus uses a steel chair on Doring. Hamrick capitalises and hits the Tornado DDT for the three. Winners: Swinger and Chris Hamrick by pinfall Crowd: 61% Match: 84% Overall: 72% Dames Rating: **3/4 Cutting to the backstage area, D'Lo Brown has arrived in the arena, and is walking through the backstage area still favouring his throat injury. Walking through the halls, he stops at Bret Hart's office, knocks and enters. See...faces knock, heels don't. D'Lo walks up to Bret, and asks why he wanted to see him...Bret smiles and gets up, before passing D'Lo a clipboard. As D'Lo reads, Bret tells him D'Lo cannot wrestle tonight unless he signs a waiver. TNA cannot afford(literally) for one of their biggest stars to get injured. But if that does happen, they don't want to be held responsible. D'Lo doesn't hesitate in signing, before telling Bret he should get A.J Styles to sign one too, because tonight he'll be the one needing medical attention. Overall: 83% Notes: D'Lo Brown gained overness from this segment Tag Team Titles Triple X 3© vs Misguided Souls Misguided Souls are of course Devon Storm and David Flair. Storm earned the title shot by winning the battle royal last week. Yet he chooses David Flair. We get plenty of mentions from Tenay and Hudson on how Misguided Souls are former WCW Tag Team Champions, but they really didn't stand a chance here. Low Ki and Daniels smartly targetted the lesser(HUGE understatement) Flair. Devon Storm did fight bravely but the Last Rites on Flair ended it. Winners and still Tag Titles: Triple X 3 by pinfall Crowd: 65% Match: 83% Overall: 74% Dames Rating: **3/4 We quickly cut backstage, to where a crowd of people seem to be hovering around something in the parking lot. Bret Hart dashes over and barges his way through the crowd, as there laying in the middle of the crowd is CM Punk, a pool of blood around his head. Bret asks if anyone knows who did this, but nobody seems to know who did it. Hmm...I wonder who it could be...(strokes chin in pondering motion). Overall: 69% Notes: CM Punk gained overness from this segment Ron Killings vs Shane Douglas Ron Killings cost Shane Douglas a dream partners match in week 7, which is almost all the history between the two. Douglas is checked for brass knuckles before the match, but seems to be clean. Killings takes advantage before the check can be finished, firing away with right hands. The former World Champ puts in quite a showing, the crowd behind him the whole way. Killings has he knee taken out from him though, and Douglas begins to go to work on that. Suddenly, as Douglas goes for the figure four Jeff Jarrett strolls out to a big reaction from the crowd. He's the top babyface after all. Douglas stops short, and argues with Jarrett from the ramp as Killings takes back advantage. A couple of minutes later, Douglas is whipped to the ropes, Jarrett hits a chair shot to the back and Killings gets a small package for a shock win. Winner: Ron Killings by pinfall Crowd: 78% Match: 61% Overall: 72% Dames Rating: 3/4* Killings begins to celebrate, as Jeff Jarrett rolls in and waits for Douglas to get up. Slowly he does, and gets smacked with a chair shot to the head by Jarrett who then goes to work with a series of chair shots to the back. The crowd go crazy, as Jarrett seemingly isn't content with the damage yet and sets up the chair. Picking Douglas up, Jarrett hits the Raven droptoehold onto the chair, leaving Douglas bloodied and beaten in the middle of the ring. The feud isn't over yet then... X-Division Title, Four Corners Match Chris Sabin© vs Spanky vs Paul London vs Elix Skipper Sabin seems surprisingly cocky going into this match, considering the opposition he has awaiting him. Despite being just as over as Sabu, Paul London doesn't seem to be getting the love from the NWA:TNA crowd that he did in RoH. Oh well, we get a good match here. London and Skipper wrestle for the majority of the match as Sabin seems to want to stay on the apron for most of the match and avoid any tags. He does come in about halway through once Spanky is down and hurt, but doesn't last long. The typical four way brawl starts up and we get highspots aplenty from Spanky. London hits the London Calling on Skipper which would have ended the match, but a Spanky dropkick makes the save. Spanky turns around, straight into the Future Shock and Sabin retins despite hardly being in the match. Winner and still X-Division Champ: Chris Sabin by pin Crowd: 63% Match: 77% Overall: 70% Dames Rating: ** Notes: The NWA X Title has gained in image As the four competitors leave the ringside area, Erik Watts walks out for the first show in quite a while. Checking back on the event history, it's actually the first time in all the ten weeks. He's here...to debut a new gimmick. But for story terms, he's here to step down from power. With Bret Hart running the show, he doesn't need to throw his weight around as well. So, he is stepping down from his position in authority, and concentrating on wrestling. Overall: 81% Notes: Erik Watts debuted his new gimmick, it got a positive response. Erik Watts gained overness from this segment Main Event, NWA World Title A.J Styles© vs D'Lo Brown D'Lo signed the waiver, and gets his title shot one on one here against Styles. It's obviously a big match, as we get the tale of the tape, long entrances, the full deal. Styles doesn't seem to hasty to start the match, so D'Lo chases him outside and starts the match there. We then get a brawl on the outside and into the crowd, which referee Mark Johnson can't stop. Eventually they come back to the ring, D'Lo in control of proceedings. The crowd are right behind D'Lo, who's in total control getting nearfsalls off a tilt a whirl slam and a running powerbomb. Styles catches D'Lo with a cheap shot poke to the eye, and tries for a hurricanrana but D'Lo hits another powerbomb. So, Styles does the smart thing and goes to the throat. This gives him the advantage for a while, but D'Lo comes back in his fired up way. A ref bump is quick to follow, as Styles takes the route Douglas took last week, and goes forthe brass knuckles. D'Lo manages to duck, and hit the Sky High for the pin, but the ref's still down. D'Lo grabs the knux, and with big crowd support uses them as Johnsons comes around and coutns the three!!! NEW CHAMPION!!! D'Lo takes the belt...but wait. It's thar CAD Brian Hebner. Boo! Hebner explains Johnson the use of the knux, and Johnson reverses the decision. The crowd start booing crazily, as Styles snatches back his belt and runs off through the crowd, leaving an angry D'Lo fuming in the ring. Winner and still World Champ: A.J Styles by reverse decision disqualification Crowd: 84% Match: 86% Overall: 85% Dames Rating: ***1/2 Notes: The NWA World Title has gained in image Overall Rating: 76% Attendance: 3385 Buy rate: 0.20 Best Match: A.J Styles vs D'Lo Brown Hottest Match: A.J Styles vs D'Lo Brown Worst Match: Ekmo vs Alter Boy Luke Best Segment: Bret makes D'Lo sign a waiver Worst Segment: CM Punk found beaten up First off, I can't not mention...Roadkill apparantly has a cameo role scheduled for T.V show Six Feet Under. Now THAT would be the definition of obscure. Now, the show. Best rating for a show I've got, which is a plus...especially considering I give a Dusty Finish in my biggest match to date. We'll see what feud I won't end next week...

Ah ha...oh, that's funny...but seriously shut up. It was responding to how Jay Leno was supposedly better than Rodman. He's a basketball player, you don't expect an armdrag for him. I marked the fuck out watching that for the first time. Sure, I was still young...but I still marked out. So there's no need for the sarcastic overexaggeration shit.

Demolition/Harts is good, but I still have a problem with the cheap finish. I like Michaels/Flair vs Savage/Bret a little better personally. Forgotten classic...Bret Hart vs The British Bulldog, In Your House 5. One of the most boring undercards around. Taker vs Mabel. Landell/Ahmed. The hog pen match. And Bulldog and Bret put on a great match, a bloody, brutal hard fought forgotten classic. And I think Bulldog/HBK from King of the Ring 96 is pretty forgotten. People always think of the Austin 3:16 speech, and forget about the match.

End of the month, and I lose money again. My finance department suggest cost cutting...they don't suggest what, which begs the question as to why I'm actually employing them...hmm, I may have found my cost cutting measure...don;t use so many open contracted wrestlers. One open contract wrestler I won't be using in the near future is Ikuto Hidaka. The dreaded 'neck injury of 8 months lay-off' has been suffered. He would have been out for the majority of the time on tour with NOAH anyway. Alexis Laree, James Mitchell, CM Punk...despite me losing money for the second running month, those heartless heathens up their pay per appearance by 10%. Meanwhile, Low Ki and Christopher Daniels complain about New Jack working too stiff...which doesn't really matter, seeing as he's soon going to be busted down to Ekmo levels soon enough. That's what you get when the partner who's carrying your ass ships off to the WWE. And speaking of the WWE, Heat is now a prime time show. And the highest ranked show in the whole wrestling industry for the week. Maven, Stevie and RVD rejoice...until they realise this means Triple H might appear on it a little more often. Okay, time for a bit of a month end recap. Hopefully I'll be able to do one next week...after I lose even more money. It's inevitable. That, and I'm too lazy to decide what to cost cut. The names he has beaten may not be the most important of wins(that's an understatement), but the convincing nature in which he defeated them puts him in the TNA top five. Oh well, formalities over. It's time for the special Week 10 edition of... *NEXT WEEK'S PREVIEW* ~Starting at the top, D'Lo Brown will go one on one with A.J Styles for the NWA World Title. These two have been feuding throughout the past 9 weeks, and it finally comes to a head with D'Lo Brown attempting to become the World Champion for the first time. Will D'Lo be able to claim the World Title? Can A.J possibly retain? Will the match even happen after the hideous attack on D'Lo last week? ~Shane Douglas stole a victory from Jeff Jarrett last week using a pair of brass knuckles. Jeff Jarrett will be out for revenge this week no doubt, so you can expect a heated confrontation this week between these two. ~Devon Storm won himself a shot at the Tag Titles last week by winning a 10 man battle royal. He and his partner David Flair team up to take on Triple X 3 this week for the Tag Team Titles. Also, the X-Division Title is on the line again, in a four corners match, as Chris Sabin defends against Spanky, Elix Skipper and Paul London. ~New King of the Darkmatch champion Ekmo will, of course, be in the dark match defending one on one against Alter Boy Luke. The title itself has some specialist rules. Wrestlers not involved with TNA(apart from Alter Boy this week) will get a shot at Ekmo. If they win the belt, they get themselves a TNA contract. They will also be offered a TNA contract if they manage to impress management(anyone who gets **1/2 or more against Ekmo deserves a contract IMO). However if they lose and don't impress, they're out of luck. Will Alter Boy win himself a contract?(here's a clue, he already has one, but if he loses he may not...wink wink). ~Also, The Network team of Chris Hamrick and Swinger meet Danny Doring and Roadkill, plus more from NWA:TNA Anarchy in the Asylum week 10.

Aren't they all just Angle Slams from different positions? And Benoit is better than Angle, but Benoit has been in this business for years. Angle has been in the business two and a half years roughly. That can count for a hell of a lot.

NWA:TNA- ANARCHY IN THE ASYLUM, WEEK 9 Announcers: Mike Tenay and Scott Hudson Dark Match, Hardcore Rules Ekmo vs Mad Mikey Poor, poor Dames didn't enjoy any of this match. It was sloppy this, and poorly executed that. Ekmo had the fight taken to him by Mikey from the get go, and it seemingly surprised the big Samoan. A trash can lid shot stunned him, but I think the plastic dinosaur shot just made him laugh. And why not. It's a plastic weapon. The fight back comes soon after, and Ekmo hits a Flying Splash(still haven't changed the name yet...any suggestions are welcome) for a cover and the three, to remain undefeated in the dark match in TNA. Winner: Ekmo by pinfall Crowd: 58% Match: 63% Overall: 60% Dames Rating: 3/4* Ekmo remains in the ring celebrating his latest victory, as suddenly out comes Bret 'The Hitman' Hart. His entrance runs into the start of the Pay Per View proper, so as he enters the ring, he has to explain why Ekmo is in the ring...and why he's on Pay Per View. Well, Vince never explained it, so it's up to Bret to do so. See, as commisioner of TNA, he has an announcement to make about the situation of a title in TNA. Contrary to popular opinion, it does not affect the US Title of the Amazing Red...(HA! I swerved you, I swerved you all!)...in fact, it involves a new title. Ekmo's title. Everyone is in shock, even Ekmo. Bret tells him that after weeks of dominating the dark match...he now is...King of the Darkmatch! And even has a title belt to prove it! Bret then presents Ekmo the title, and he raises it in the air. Behind him, Bret quickly mutters something about Ekmo never being out of the darkmatch again as long as he's holding the belt, but he's too busy celebrating to notice. Overall: 70% Notes: Bret Hart lost overness from this segment. Then again, he did just present a title belt to a fat samoan WWE reject...what do you expect? Ekmo continues to celebrate, and milk all the PPV time he can get because god knows he won't see it again for a looong time... As meanwhile backstage, D'Lo Brown has arrived and is walking through the backstage area...seemingly looking for someone. Most probably A.J Styles. Well, he finds him. Or rather, A.J finds him...with a chair shot to the back. Laying into D'Lo with a couple more chair shots, A.J beats his foe down before looking down on him with a smile, and telling D'Lo if he wants a title shot, he's got one next week! Big pops from the crowd for that one, until Styles pulls D'Lo up, and with a smile adds 'if you can make it', before placing the chair over D'Lo's head, and ramming it into the wall, ala Taker and Dreamer!!! D'Lo holds his throat in serious pain, as referees charge over to stop A.J and check on D'Lo's condition. Overall: 79% Notes: D'Lo Brown gained overness from this segment NWA X-Division Title Chris Sabin© vs Paul London London gave A.J Styles a great match last week for the World Title. This week, he seemed a little tired out, not giving as great of a match or challenge to Chris Sabin. In fact, Sabin went into uber cocky mode early, just taunting London at times. London did try to fight back, but in the end it was all in vain. One Future Shock, and Chris Sabin gets a convincing win. Winner and still X-Division Champion: Chris Sabin by pinfall Crowd: 64% Match: 74% Overall: 69% Dames Rating: *3/4 Notes: Paul London lost overness from this match. Chris Sabin gained overness from this match. The NWA X title has gained in image. 10 Man Battle Royal, winner gets Tag Title shot next week David Young, Devon Storm, Slash, Roadkill, Don Harris, Cassidy O'Reilly, Ikuto Hidaka, B.G James, Blue Meanie and Swinger Ok...so a battle royal isn't going to be the best of matches on any card. But my original plans for the Tag Belts were screwed up by injury. And I'm losing money, so using 9 written contracted wrestlers is cheaper in the short term than using 2 open contract workers. Quite unsurprisingly, Swinger is the first man eliminated. His usual tag partner is injured after all. Don Harris and Cassidy O'Reilly are quickly eliminated as well, as Devon Storm avoids elimination just about. Spanky avoids a clothesline from Slash, as he goes crashing over the top for the fourth elimination. Spanky charges at B.G straight away, and gets a baaack body drop in the centre of the ring...but B.G then runs into a backdrop over the top from Devon. Fool. Spanky goes flying out a couple of seconds after him curteousy of Roadkill, and we're down to the final four almost as quickly as the Gimmick Battle Royal at WM X7. The final four situation slows down the eliminations, although Roadkill is nearly eliminated by Meanie. Eventually, Devon Storm starts up a mini house en feugo, hitting a Luger style forearm and a Diamond Dust on David Young. Roadkill hangs on to prevent his elimination, as Meanie grabs David Young and throws him out. Turning around, Meanie takes a Luger forearm from both Devon and then Roadkill, before getting chucked over the top rope. Down to the final two, Roadkill hits a sideslam and then charges at Devon, but a sidestep and throw sends him over the top, giving Devon Storm and a partner a shot at the Tag Titles next week! Winner: Devon Storm Crowd: 56% Match: 60% Overall: 58% Dames Rating: 1/2* NWA Tag Team Titles Triple X 3© vs James Storm and ??? This week, James Storm's partner is...New Jack! Well, Jack's usual partner decided to jump ship to WWE. More fool him. New Jack comes in like a house en feugo...but not with his usual weapon collection. This isn't ECW, although you never would have realised a few months ago. Both Daniels and Low Ki are subjected to New Jack's 'offence', before Storm comes in and is taken out. Using the great teamwork I keep getting e-mailed about, Low Ki and Daniels 'cut the ring in half' on Storm, but eventually the hot tag comes, and New Jack puts in some more...'offence'. He gets caught eventually with a spinebuster by Low Ki, and then the Last Rites for the three. Guess New Jack is as effective as the rest of Storm's makeshift partners. Winners and still Tag Champs: Triple X 3 Crowd: 64% Match: 78% Overall: 71% Dames Rating: **1/4 NWA World Title AJ Styles© vs Nova With D'Lo gone from the building, A.J seems happier than he has in weeks. And of course, he uses it to his advantage, playing the cocky heel and also playing mind games with Nova. At times it's almost a squash match, as Nova tries his best but always seems to make a mistake allowing Styles to take advantage. The crowd slowly get behind Nova, and at times start up D'Lo chants, but it's all in vain as Styles weathers a brief Nova storm and hits the Styles Clash for the three. Winner and still World Champ: A.J Styles by pinfall Crowd: 71% Match: 79% Overall: 75% Dames Rating: **1/2 Notes: The NWA World Title has gained in image. After the match, Styles continues to lay in the boots, the crowd really getting on his case. Seeing enough, The Blue Meanie runs in with a steel chair, and chases Styles off before checking on Nova. In doing so, he makes the mistake of turning his back on A.J...who rolls in, and crashes the steel chair over the back of the Meanie. Big D'Lo chants start up, but D'Lo doesn't show up, and Styles leaves the ring laughing. D'Lo versus A.J Styles next week, if D'Lo is in condition(wink wink). A video package higlighting the feud between Shane Douglas and Jeff Jarrett plays, highlighting all the confrontations in their feud through the past two months. Overall: 89% Notes: Shane Douglas gained overness from this segment Conveniently, that leads us on to... Main Event, Grudge Match Jeff Jarrett vs Shane Douglas This feud needs to be settled, and it may be tonight(coughyeahrightcough). Both men get the usual big match, longer entrances to start, and go face to face in the ring. After a little inaudible jaw-jacking, Douglas lets out a laugh, but is slapped in the face by Jarrett. Douglas responds with rights, and the fight is on! It doesn't take long for Douglas to take advantage, and it also doesn't take long for that familiar occurance...the ref bump and face pin which goes uncounted. Ah, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Douglas recovers and dominates with some pretty generic offence, before Jarrett avoids an elbow from the middle rope. Fighting back, and the crowd behind him, Jarrett manages to end a series of coutners with a piledriver, and get a two and seven eighths. Keeping on the offence, Jarrett backs Douglas into the corner, but gets pulled away by former WWE referee Brian Hebner...and Douglas hits a right hand for a three. Hmm...how suspicious. Douglas is seen putting something back in his tights...presumably brass knux, I haven't been e-mailed about any injuries...down there...and leaves the ring victorious. I guess this feud isn't over...how interesting. Winner: Shane Douglas by pinfall Crowd: 82% Match: 67% Overall: 77% Dames Rating: *1/2 Notes: Jeff Jarrett lost overness from this match. Shane Douglas gained overness from this match. After the match, Jarrett tries to tell Hebner about the brass knuckles, but Hebner didn't see them. SCREW JOB!!! Ok...laughing my ass off at someone thinking NUNZIO can beat ANGLE in a shoot wrestling match. I know Nunzio's a shoot wrestler, but come on...Jericho locked that facelock on Goldberg and imobilised him backstage remember. Jericho doesn't have Angle's amateur wrestling knowledge, and Nunzio's about half the size of Goldberg. Angle would probably take out the cast majority of 'shoot' fighters. Yes, Angle is overrated. You're lucky AS isn't in here... But if you want an example of Angle's 'poor selling', explain to me why Angle is able to hit german and belly to belly overhead suplexes...AFTER Benoit works on his shoulder for a good 5/10 minutes in almost all their matches. People bitch about RVD not seeling, and Edge not selling. If someone works on the body part you use most for your movelist, and you still utilise that movelist in the match without selling the body part for a good 20 seconds...you're not selling to our greatly high standards. Everyone's guilty of it at times I'm sure... And the topic of the thread...it's true. Even if Triple H put on the greatest match of his life against a Benoit or a Jericho, it's a carry job in most people's books because we like to think our favourites are better than those we don't like as much.

Oh joy unbeholded. Simon Diamond gets himself an eye injury, which leaves him out for two months. Another Network wrestler out of action...and my Tag Title switch pushed back. Amazing Red is on his Japanese tour with AJPW. So my planned Kash/Red confrontation will have to wait three weeks. Mike Awesome's also on tour. To add to this, the WWE have STILL not released Stevie Richards. I'm one guy away from a bWo reunion, and he won't leave with so much of his contract left. Well...I guess wrestling on Heat must be a better option than wrestling on TNA PPV's. How sad is that. Not as sad as I feel. It seems Abyss isn't really injured. In fact, it's a fake. He's getting out of the limelight for a while, before his shock return as...get this...The Ultimate Worrier. Also, married Shawn Michaels splits with girlfriend Ivory and takes up stalking her. You've got to love WrestlingHeat.com. Never has the phrase OMG SOURCE!!! been needed. Although...the Ultimate Worrier may not be that bad of an idea... Before I go any further with revealing my future plans, it's time for...dah dah dah daaah... *NEXT WEEK'S PREVIEW* ~The highly anticipated clash between Jeff Jarrett and Shane Douglas takes place live at Anarachy in the Asylum Week 9. After 8 weeks of confrontation, insults, dream partners and the like, it's time to put up or shut up. It's time to put your money where your motuh is. It's time for clichés. Beautiful, heart warming clichés. And a match. Will this end the feud between the two, or serve to feul the fires between the two further? ~The feud between D'Lo Brown and A.J Styles however does not look like ending any time soon. D'Lo has vowed not to rest until he gets his shot at the NWA World Title, but he won't get it this week because A.J Styles is already scheduled for action. Another opportunity has been presented to a young up-and-coming star. Nova gets a World Title shot this week. But D'Lo Brown is scheduled to be in the Asylum next week, so A.J will have to continue to watch his back. ~Bret Hart will be back this week, and he has promised an announcement about the situation of a title in TNA. With The Amazing Red away on tour with AJPW, is the situation regarding the US Title? ~Regarding titles, Paul London takes on Chris Sabin this week for the X-Division Title. London couldn't quite defeat A.J Styles for the World Title last week, but this week he may be able to dethrone Chris Sabin and become king of the X-Division. ~The Tag Team Title number one contendership will be on the line...in a unique setting. 10 men enter a battle royal, and the winner will earn a title shot for himself and his partner next week on Anarchy in the Asylum Week 10. Meanwhile, this week Low Ki and Elix Skipper will defend the titles against nemesis James Storm and a partner of his choosing, due to the continued...ahem...'absence' of his regular partner Chris Harris. ~Ekmo has dominated the dark match section of Anarchy in the Ayslum since debuting in NWA:TNA. In fact, he hasn't been out of it. That continues this week versus Mad Mikey. Mikey however has issued a special challenge...a Hardcore Rules Match. ~All this plus more on Anarchy in the Asylum Week 9, live on Pay Per View.

That's right Flik...you MUST read. NWA:TNA- ANARCHY IN THE ASYLUM, WEEK 8 Announcers: Mike Tenay and Scott Hudson Dark Match B.G James vs Ekmo 'The King of the Dark Match' Ekmo is back in action...in the dark match spot. I should really create a dark match title for Ekmo. Hmm... Ekmo dominates, and retains his bragging rights by beating James with the 'Flying Splash'. I need a new name for that. After the match, Ekmo attacks again with 'a barrage of right and left hands', beating down BG James and thus 'going over' the veteran. Buff Bagwell should think himself lucky. Instead of jobbing to Ekmo in a dark match, he gets to job to Triple H on Raw...and then Nash...then HBK...Maven...Garrison Cade. Lucky, lucky guy. Winner: Ekmo via pinfall Crowd:69% Match: 66% Overall: 61% Dames Rating: *1/4 NWA X-Division Title Chris Sabin© vs Mad Mikey Sabin returns! Hail Sabin, and all that. His opposition for his return is Mad Mikey, who's so mad he shoves a cameraman down on his way to the ring...oooh, he's mad! We get a ref bump early on in the match, preventing Mikey from becoming the new X Division Champion, and probably making him madder. Sabin takes over from there, and dominates for most of the match. Typical face comeback from Mikey, Dames buys a false finish off a top rope double axehandle...you fool Dames, you fool. Eventually, Sabin manages to hit the Future Shock and retains the title. Winner and still X-Division Champion: Chris Sabin via pinfall Crowd: 54% Match: 72% Overall: 56% Dames Rating: *1/4 (Oh great...seems we've got one of those 'non clicking shows'. On the week I decide to do Styles/London, the show doesn't click. Great...) Sabin begins to celebrate when suddenly here comes Frankie Kazarian! Rolling in with a chair, Frankie wildly swings...only for Sabin to duck, shove the chair away and hit the Future Shock. Failed run in by Frankie. Probably not the best way to book a face...but Sabin needs a feud victory or two. Ikuto Hidaka vs Elix Skipper Hidaka debuted for TNA last week, as the tag team partner of Masato Tanaka...but now he gets a singles try-out. And doesn't do too bad, with Elix Skipper proving a decent enough wrestler himself. The two exchange STIFF kicks to start, before Hidkaka hits a swinging bulldog and then a tornado DDT for a two. Elix tries to fight back, but it is in vain as Hidaka nails a dropkick to the knee, and locks on the Shawn Capture for the TNA singles debut win. Winner: Ikuto Hidaka via submission Crowd: 64% Match: 88% Overall: 68% Dames Rating: ***1/4 After Hidaka finally leaves, Kid Kash decides to walk out to the ring, not getting a good reaction from the crowd...well, apart from the heel section. He enters the ring, and announces he has a challenge for the United States Champion The Amazing Red. Not needing much convincing to accept the challenge, Red walks out and tells Kash he's got a match next week, one on one. An evil smile slowly appears on Kash's face as he hears this...he's a heel after all. Overall: 62% NWA Tag Team Titles Triple X 3© vs CM Punk and Julio Dinero The Gathering come out to the ring first, and CM takes a little time on the microphone to insult Raven. See, apparantly, Raven isn't here tonight. So CM can insult Raven, in the safe knowledge he won't get hurt. Hmm...I wonder if he is right. Low Ki and Daniels carry the two lesser wrestlers to quite a decent match. CM really isn't getting over in TNA for some reason, but he does in RoH. Which is annoying, because I'm not playing RoH, and I want a Raven/Punk feud. Speaking of which, Raven runs down the aisle(I thought he wasn't here...WHAT a surprise!) with a chair just as Punk gets the advantage. A swift chair shot in the back knocks Punk down, for Low Ki to get the submission win with the Dragon Clutch. Winners and still Tag Champions: Triple X 3 by submission Crowd: 63% Match: 80% Overall: 63% Dames Rating: **1/2 Shane Douglas and Mike Awesome vs Jeff Jarrett and 'The Truth' Ron Killings Last week...well, read for yourself if you haven't already. Douglas wants to start things off against Killings, for whatever reason. And it seems Killings is happy to oblidge. After all...when was the last time he had a meaningful match in TNA? I sure can't remember. Maybe Killings doesn't either, as Douglas and Awesome control the match with the usual high impact moves you see from them. Eventually Jarrett gets a hot tag, and a HOUSE EN FUEGO~! as he takes over on the two clients of James Mitchell. Killings also comes back into things, and almost gets the pin with the True Conviction. Jarrett is taken out with a plancha by Awesome, allowing Douglas to hit the Franchiser and get the win. Winners: Shane Douglas and Mike Awesome by pinfall. Crowd: 75% Match: 68% Overall: 64% Dames Rating: *1/2 After the match, Douglas orders Awesome to attack, which he does on Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett gets thrown back in, and hit with the Franchiser before tasting an embarrasing slap to the face from Douglas, the crowd booing Douglas wildly as he responds with his trademark laugh. Backstage, and D'Lo Brown is stood by for an interview. Doesn't take a genius to tell what he'll talk about. Seems D'Lo is tired of being held down. He spent so many years being held down in the WWE, he doesn't want it to happen anymore. Which is why he's daring A.J Styles to give him a title shot...and until he does, D'Lo's going to be everywhere A.J goes. Styles will never get any peace until D'Lo gets his title shot. Never. Overall: 74% Masato Tanaka vs Sean Waltman A couple of mismatched guys here to say the least. The mis-match brings about a few problems in the match, those problems bringing down the match quality a little. The effort is there from both men though...which is surprising, considering you've got the biggest no seller this side of Undertaker, and a Kliq member in there. Tanaka uses the strength advantage and his super no-sell abilities to gain advantage for most of the match, before a ref bump off a Waltman spin kick changes things. Waltman sudeenly gains advantage, but suddenly here comes Sabu with a chair shot, and Tanaka gets a debut TNA singles win. Just like Hidaka. Hmm... Winner: Masato Tanaka by pinfall Crowd: 70% Match: 73% Overall: 63% Dames Rating: *3/4 Sabu sticks around for the three count, and suddenly storms the ring. Shoving Tanaka out of the way, Sabu lays the boots in to Waltman as the bell rings repeatedly. Just like 1989, it still doesn't stop the attack. Sabu takes the chair, goes to the top and hits the Arabian Facebuster! Before going up again...and hitting a second Arabian Facebuster. Referees run down...as Sabu goes up again and hits a third Arabian Facebuster, leaving Waltman battered and bloodied in the middle of the ring. Just think...Sabu is the face in this feud. Come to think of it, maybe I should think about that... Main Event, NWA World Title A.J Styles© vs Paul London Two great athletic wrestlers...Styles obviously the better takes London to a good match. On another night, this may have been a classic match, but the whole show hasn't clicked...just my luck. Styles plays the cocky heel and tries to show up London from the beginning, not that it lasts too long as London tires of it and hits a slap which pops the crowd. After that, a few dead points in this match mellow out the crowd. But the finish sequence brings them back into it, as a London top rope rana is reversed into the middle rope Styles Clash for a convincing victory. Winner and still World Champion: AJ Styles by pinfall Crowd: 76% Match: 86% Overall: 72% Dames Rating: ***3/4 A.J takes the title belt, and smugly leaves with the belt over his shoulder. Getting to the top of the stage he raises the belt in the air, only to get nailed with a chair shot from behind by D'Lo Brown! D'Lo stares down at the fallen Styles, raising both the dented chair and Styles' title belt to end the show. Overall Rating: 66% Attendance: 3406 Buy rate: 0.20 Best Match: Ikuto Hidaka vs Elix Skipper Hottest Match: A.J Styles vs Paul London Worst Match: Ekmo vs B.G James Best Segment: D'Lo Brown interview Worst Segment: Kash challenges Red Waltman got all pissy about Tanaka working too stiff for him. There's too many jokes I can make for that, so I'll leave that well alone... And comment on how the show didn't click. The show I try and put real workrate style matches in...(well, the dark match doesn't count)...Hopefully it won't continue next week, as it's Shane Douglas one on one with Jeff Jarrett. Will this match settle their feud? Is it even likely? And what will happen with D'Lo and Styles? Will I get over ***3/4 stars in TNA next week without the aid of the usual ***** combinations? Do you care? Because I do...

I still don't know why you haven't signed Crappy the Clown yet. If not, then I'm pretty sure Dan Severn is in the game somewhere.
