The answer to #5 was Bret vs. Bam Bam Bigelow ... this was January 93, shortly after the Rumble.

LOL THAT IS GOLD!

Well when does Saddam get the belt?

Made famous by the Macho Man Randy Savage School of Pro Wrestling Me as an 11 year old watching old WWF videos "Why does Savage have to stomp the mat every time he throws a jab? I don't get it..."

If your name is Hulk Hogan or Sting, be prepared to have all your friends betray you at some point.

Neidhart played for the Raiders. During one of the WWF 'Real Athlete' commercial segments in 97, Ahmed said he played for some team but I don't recall which.

It was Dusty Rhodes. Toward the later part of 1990, Virgil once beat Rhodes in 30 seconds flat after interference from Dibiase. This was weeks prior to Rhodes' departure back to WCW.

That was pretty convincing. Maybe I should warn my local Super Wal-Mart that they might be attacked too. C'mon, people. We can sit here all day and debate over whether or not the WWE is a target. EVERYTHING is a potential target, sure. Doesn't mean it's a likely one.

The very first WWF show I attended was at the Capital Centre in May of 1993. Small arena but a regular stop on the tour. I had been watching wrestling for almost a year and was a few weeks removed from the first PPV I saw live (WrestleMania IX). I was not quite 12 years old at the time. Before the show started, I got my dad to buy me a program (which was basically a smaller version of WWF magazine sold at the arenas that highlighted all the current storylines and rivalries...it also included the night's line-up). The first thing I noticed on the line-up was that the scheduled match between the Nasty Boys and the Headshrinkers had been changed to the Smoking Gunns vs. the Headshrinkers. This kinda pissed me off since I was looking forward to that match after the two had a concession stand brawl on Raw a few months prior. The Nastys weren't there due to their suspension which led to them jumping to WCW a month or two later. Here's the card as I remember it... The Brooklyn Brawler vs. Jim Powers - I wanted Powers to win cause he was cool looking. He didn't. I was temporarily sad, but then I remembered that I didn't come to the show to see this match anyway. Then I was happy. El Matador vs. Damien Demento - Demento was pretty cool due to the fact he would regularly have conversations with his hands ... and he was freaky looking. Same finish as Santana / HBK at WrestleMania VIII (as a young kid already well-versed in Coliseum Home Video PPV releases I asked myself "Couldn't Tito have learned to counter that move in the past year?") Bob Backlund vs. Blake Beverly - The crowd wasn't really behind Backlund - except for two old fat guys in the front row who seemed to have a love affair with Backlund dating back to his championship days of the late 70s. Opie Taylor picked up the win with some sort of roll up, perhaps into a bridge. Mr. Perfect vs. Shawn Michaels - The ad for this show in the Washington Post was built around this particular matchup that I was very much looking forward to. These two put on a great contest, one that to this day may be the best bout I've ever seen in person. Great psychology, Michaels played the perfect cowardly heel, and the crowd could not have been more behind Perfect. Eventually, the champ nails Perfect in the head with the IC title. Before the dazed referee can make the three count, the Gunns and Jim Powers rushed the ring and told the referee what happened. Rather than DQ the champ the referee orders for the match to continue, Perfect makes the Superman comeback ... kicks the tar out of HBK ... gets the 3-count, only for the referee to notice that Michaels' foot was on the bottom rope so the match AGAIN continues. Seconds later, Perfect catches Michaels sleeping and slaps on the Perfect Plex for the 1...2...*ding ding* Oh wow, we have a new champion, right? Nope, the 20-minute time limit had expired. Awesome match. I have pics of it on my website (check the sig at the bottom). Intermission ... Howard Finkel announces that the WWF will return to this area in late June with a show in Baltimore. The matches signed so far will pit Mr. Perfect against Lex Luger, a rare heel vs. heel match when Michaels puts up the IC title against Razor Ramon, and a rare face vs. face match when Bret Hart meets Bob Backlund. The next Cap Center show would be in July and would have the main event of Hulk Hogan vs. Yokozuna (which got a huge pop). Hogan, of course, would be a no show after KOTR and would be replaced by Bret. The Smoking Gunns vs. the Headshrinkers - This was pretty cool since the Gunns had yet to make their TV debut. Up till this point, they had only been seen on vignettes shown on Raw and the syndies where they're hanging out at their ranch. Their music hits and BAM ... the Gunns come out shooting blanks. My dad thought it was pretty cool but it kinda scared the crap out of me. The Shrinkers use a lot of illegal double teaming, with Afa distracting the referee as often as possible. The Shrinkers eventually picked up the cheap win which would lead to a rematch 2 months later in this same arena - this time with Afa subbing for Fatu. Yokozuna vs. Jim Duggan - I wasn't a huge Duggan fan but I like America and I didn't like Yoko, so Duggan got my vote of support. Hacksaw goes for the running clothesline ... Fuji grabs the foot, preventing him from hitting it ... Duggan turns around to jaw with Fuji ... Yoko squashes Hacksaw in the corner and follows up with the Bonzai for the win. Kamala vs. Bam Bam Bigelow - This match was supposed to happen at WrestleMania but didn't for whatever reason. I'm going to assume that if it had, Mania IX would not be as highly regarded as it is today (*insert laugh track here*). Not much of a match. Kamala gains the advantage and tries pinning Bigelow with his stomach against the mat. The fans and referee tell Kamala to turn him over. He gets confused and tries to talk to the referee ... Bigelow rolls him up from behind for the pin. Bret Hart vs. Lex Luger - Bret was and is my favorite and I had high hopes that he would kick the tar out of Luger for knocking the Hitman out at the WrestleMania IX brunch a few weeks prior. And that's pretty much what happens. Earlier in the night, Luger came out for the match but was told that he would have to wear a protective armband or he would be fined and suspended by Jack Tunney. So the main event is saved for the main event instead of before intermission. Luger comes out with the armband, Bret kicks the crap out of him, uses the 5 Moves of Doom, goes for the Sharpshooter ... and who should run in but Razor Ramon. The two double team Bret and Razor holds the Hitman for Luger to use the running forearm ... Bret ducks ... Luger knocks Razor out cold. Bret sends Luger to the floor. This altercation and others like it around the tour would lead to a brief Razor vs. Luger run before Luger turned face on July 4. This was a matinee show so afterwards, my parents and I along with a crap load of other people stood outside the arena and watched as wrestlers took off in their cars. What I found odd is that HBK and Razor left together - even though they were scheduled to fight at the show in Baltimore the next month.

1 is correct. Razor jumped Owen in his dressing room while Pettingzoo attempted to conduct an interview with the Shadow ... or Rocket. 3 is also correct. Bret fought Savage in May of 94, beating him with the Sharpshooter.

It would only be funny if we got the countless Saddam body doubles. Austin is pacing back in forth in the parking lot ... a limo drives up ... Saddam walks out ... Austin hits him over the head with a tire iron ... but it's not even the real Saddam.

I'm not completely stupid, I just realize now that I can't read. I read "wrestling streak" as "winning streak".

I think it's wise of the WWE to be aware of the situation or what COULD happen; to do otherwise would be ignorant. But let's be serious here. Do you guys really think Saddam, Osama, and / or Kim Jong-il is on the other side of the world right now planning to blow the WWE to pieces? *ring ring* Kim Jong-il: Hello? Saddam: Kim! It's Saddam, man, how are you? Kim Jong-il: Saddam! What's up, mofo? I hear you've got yourself in a little trouble over there. Saddam: Ah, yes (Saddam talks like Triumph from Conan O'Brien). Listen, man, me and Osama came up with a little plan. Kim Jong-il: Let's hear it. Saddam: Okay, well you know WrestleMania is right around the corner, right? Kim Jong-il: Yep, I've already placed an order with my local communist cable company. Saddam: Well me and Osama think you should nuke Seattle on the 30th. Kim Jong-il: What? Nuke Seattle? But Kim Jong-il wants to see Booker T beat Triple H for the World Heavyweight Title. Saddam: ...Are you serious? Triple H is never going to job to Booker T. Booker T is nothing but a dancer and an entertainer. C'mon, man, help us out here. You would really be taking the heat off me and Osama. Kim Jong-il: Well...I had been looking forward to Austin / Rock III...but you're right...it's too good. Screw the World Series, Super Bowl, Grammys, Emmys, and Blockbuster Awards ... we've got to destroy the WWE!

Maybe someone will answer my questions this time around lol 1. Who was attacked on the premier episode of WWF Mania? 2. Who scored a few victories over Tatanka in untelevised bouts during his "undefeated streak"? 3. What fellow face and former world champion once challenged Bret Hart for the title during a tour of Japan? 4. Virgil scored the biggest victory of his career before he even became a full time WWF in-ring wrestler. What former world champion did he defeat while once subbing for Ted Dibiase? 5. What was the main event of the MSG Headlock on Hunger event in which the WWF donated funds to the relief work in Somalia?

There is a Hollywood Video and Video Update nearby but Blockbuster always has the best selection when it comes to pre-2002 movies.

Now that I think about it ... weren't Capt. Lou Albano and Freddie Blassie part of the triangle of terror too? Albano took Ivan Koloff to the world belt and Blassie took the Iron Sheik. Steamboat (3), Hogan (3), Bossman (4), Undertaker (4), Earthquake (3), Razor (3), Owen (3), Edge (3), Kane (3) I have Taker with 5 (95-99) Bossman with 4 (89-92) and Steamboat, Hogan, Earthquake, Razor, Owen, Edge, and Kane tied with 3.

1. The Grand Wizard (Superstar Billy Graham) 2. The Road Warriors and ... I don't know if the Dudleyz would count since although they won the WCW tag straps, WCW was no longer a promotion at the time 3. Demolition 4. The Undertaker 5. Austin with 4?
-
1. Hercules / Billy Jack Haynes at 3 ... arguably you could add Bulldog / Warlord at 7 to that 3. Al Snow? 4. Savage 5. Farooq; the last being Ron Simmons 7. Paul Orndorff; the Big Event wasn't a PPV - just a major house show put on home video 8. Hakushi 9. he was scheduled to be in the 10-man tag at WrestleMania X but instead his WrestleMania debut was WrestleMania XV and the hardcore title match 10. I want to say either Saito or Hashimoto ... not sure

That blows. On one hand, it's good for Maguire in that it would be very hard to top the first film so if the movie doesn't live up to expectations - he won't be effected by it. On the other hand, it's bad for me because every Batman after Michael Keaton blew... Bond is different because the franchise has been around for nearly 40 years and the movies have maintained their popularity despite the different lead actors. Name another film franchise where that has been the case.
