    WWE SmackDown! - September 12, 2008

Having now watched SmackDown and how the on-air appearance / handling of the Colon tag team went, yeah, that was incredibly weird and very lazy writing.

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

Sometimes I think you don't read other people's posts first, Mr. Pipes (or nothing outside of like, 3 above).

    WCW SuperBrawl VI

WWF Magazine did actually show the real photos with Savage and Elizabeth. They also noted that in one photo, they are watching Tuesday Night Titans, which obviously aired from 1984-1986. I mentioned this in the Shorties section (because of the Flair promo revealing the magazine) but Entertainment Tonight actually had a piece on the angle which had clear video footage of Flair and Liz posing for the photos (and I guess her standing still while Savage and Flair swapped out, but I don't recall that).

Yeah I mentioned that too. He's visible on the left when Mean Gene introduces the first dance.

    Defend a game nobody likes

The presentation of the Acclaim wrestling games is pretty good, it's quite the shame the controls suck. Warzone's PS1 videos rule. The opening to Attitude is a great video package too.

    WWE SmackDown! - September 12, 2008

And don't forget that the 2007 debut erased his 2006 debut as a WWE guy fending off an ECW invasion!

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

Well, you're a 24/7 subscriber and they basically moved it to 24/7 in November, so it's all good.

Maybe Foley really did need Vince yelling at him over his headset.

2008 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony

Hey, the "ONE MORE MATCH" and 34 minute (give or take) ovation for Hogan in 2005 was great. It's just too bad it carried over into Bret having to explain to them in 2006 he could not possibly have one more match.

    WWE SmackDown! - September 12, 2008

Just to make sure I'm following along here: Minor character defying brand boundries that have been extremely loose since the Survivor Series 2005 angle = an annoyance. Russorific Impact! angles that make absolutely NO logical sense = good enjoyable fun that doesn't annoy you or iggymcfly at all. I'm not trying to start an argument, just questioning the logic. Is it because that sort of thing is the norm in TNA so TNA fans (and not people who want TNA to succeed because they remember 2005, but people who honest to God think what they do now is good) figure it's ok to exist in TNA because that's how they roll? Bryan Alvarez did a very good explanation of how he feels you need to be in a certain mood or mindset to watch Impact and how that sort of thing "wasn't for him" (but wrestlers dressed as mad scientists working in a lab is cool if it happens in Mexico, because he's in a "lucha mood" when he watches that sort of thing).

    WWF Survivor Series 1992

I may be wrong but I recall Yokozuna falling over at one point during the Virgil match (though I think he ended up using as an offensive move). That (possibly false) memory and him CLEARLY being down on the mat at the 93 Rumble always caused me to not really buy the whole "Duggan tries to knock Yokozuna off his feet for the first time ever!" angle afterwards. I think the deal there was Yoko hadn't been offensively knocked off his feet (again, a memory issue - I always remembered it as Savage flooring him with repeated axe handles, but I think he actually fell after a missed charge).

    I have a 8% warning level

"Eight" begins with a vowel, therefore you have "an 8% warn level", not "a 8".

I do expect a "No Cho Aniki" rule this year.

    WWE SmackDown! - September 12, 2008

I guess the feeling is any time they spent explaining why Primo Colon is on SmackDown is time and effort that will result in zero buys for anything, so just devote the time to something else.

    Smackdown vs. Raw 2009: News/screens

I don't care what Ledesma says, NO story will ever replace "tag partner ate the last slice of pizza".

    Discussion: The Undertaker

Right, it was Ted DiBiase. I think that's in last week's F4W/WON news thread.

    WWF Survivor Series 1992

I have a very fond memory of this show in regards to the Mr. Perfect thing. We didn't get Prime Time in Canada so, with the big angle happening on a show we don't get, how are Canadians supposed to know what's going on? Well, the "Community Bulletin Board / Local Cable Access" channel or whatever you want to call it had an ALERT~! appear on screen. "ATTENTION WRESTLING FANS - due to unforseen circumstances, The Ultimate Warrior will not be appearing at Survivor Series. "Macho Man" Randy Savage will now be teaming with Mr. Perfect" (or some form of this bulletin). Talk about a head scratcher - I thought this was some trap Savage had walked into and told everyone at school about this exciting news. I miss that channel, with it's solid blue screen and two red lines at the top and bottom, computerized text on screen and ASCII graphics for Christmas Trees when they did the holiday greetings. Good times.

The "Vent about not having Program X on 24/7" Thread

Same here but it's not uncommon for systems to not be aware when 24/7 decided to add shows on wacky days. I was pretty surprised when the off-schedule Shorties from August showed up on time.

    WCW SuperBrawl VI

They did explain that the photos were doctored and Flair never revealed his prized nude photo of Elizabeth from his private collection (jerk), so I guess that enough evidence.

    Discussion: The Undertaker

Well it was just reported like, last week, that Taker and/or creative figure if Taker loses at Mania, it's not going to be to an established main eventer. In other news: Wrestlers have contracts that determine how long they are a champion, usually for a year. So, when Jericho's contract for being a champion runs out, he'll be scripted to lose the belt. This is what I in a conversation two people on the bus were having on my way to work tonight. I may have misheard her, but the other party in the conversation said "Cena is out with an injury and will be replaced by The Rock".

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

I enjoyed the Bret/Hennig Uncensored (almost wrote "Unforgiven") match. It's the lesser of their work but one of Hennig's better WCW outings. I actually got to see them do a match at a house show in March 98 when Hall and Nash no-showed and I was pretty damn happy about it.

    Defend a game nobody likes

Well, that was the joke / AVGN reference.

    WWE Old School

I know WWE is not known for being on the up and up with a wrestlers win-loss record (especially around 1991, as in the build to Survivor Series when Undertaker was being called "undefeated", my cousin said that he saw Taker lose to Warrior a few months prior), but I found Monsoon's claim during the IRS/DBS match that IRS was undefeated a bit dubious as I've always remembered him as a JTTS until Money Inc. formed. Then I realized that it was not entirely impossible the IRS character was never beaten on TV (what, was PJ Walker going to get a fluke roll-up on Superstars?) so I was slightly amused to see that on the PTW episode from September 91 that IRS indeed has a televised match that he does not win.

    I have a 8% warning level

I thought the warnee's received some sort of notification, but I guess I didn't hit the proper checkbox for that? Brody: From what I gather, the warn level has to be at like, 65% before anything happens.
