I did that learn that rather quick. Actually, a cool thing I noted about the board's top half recently was Dave was around answering questions and starting discussion topics. -
I think Andrew likes it too.
-
Super Nintendo Chalmers was an awesome name.
-
I wasn't using that to dump on Midway. I like that game.

WWE General Discussion - September 2008

A bad opener sets a bad tempo. -
That's a fair point (though you're forgetting about the Midway arcade classic, WrestleMania: The Arcade Game), but it doesn't mean people should run out and buy a crappy game because it's a "first attempt, so we'll let it slide".

WWE.com announced Michelle vs. Maryse for the Divas title at Unforgiven. Yikes. -
More notes on the game courtesy of the F4W Newsletter: "The story mode is ten hours long, which apparently is considered very short (actually, 12 is considered short and 20 is "solid"). They left blood out of the game so they could market to kids. There are no rope breaks in the game because the developers didn't know what rope breaks were if you can even believe that. There are no referees in the game. Well, at least that's realistic since there may as well be no referees in TNA since they're all so damn incompetent. The Wii version has been delayed and will not support online play or downloadable content. It's believed the PS2 version will ship on time, but it also will have no online play or downloadable content. You will not be able to upload your own music for theme songs. Our source wasn't positive but believed that the maximum number of wrestlers that could be on screen at any one time was four, and that TNA/Midway wasn't releasing this info prior to release because it was rather embarrassing. That's the other reason there are no referees, because they apparently couldn't animate one ref and four other wrestlers at the same time. Our source concluded: "This game is DOA, and the more they actually talk and let people know what is in the game the more they bury it".

Wasn't it available in Europe like, 2 weeks ago?

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
Cogeco officially changed the menu name of 24/7 to "WWE Classics" today (with the channel name showing up on the guide as "WWE 24/7 Classics On Demand"). Threw me for a loop for a second. -
I thought this was going to be about Clu Clu Land.

Let's take it down a notch.

WWE General Discussion - September 2008

Someone always cries "FAKE!" and the posters always turn out to be legit. But this time, it really, really looks fake. This is why I gave an evidence list. -
I don't really like this post. I'm still sore that BL or someone never took a "look, they assigned ANOTHER mod spot to someone" shot in the TSM mockery thread though.

That fall reminded of the Lita Bump from the end of 2004. I rewound this many times to confirm this, but I'm 99% sure Adamle referred to the ECW match this Sunday as the "Scrabble Match". I laughed. I also think Santino said "Honky Donkey Man", but it might have been Tonky. How can you not the love the Honk-A-Meter?

A few things with that poster: - No logos - No date - Linked from some random forum instead of wikipedia or WWEAffiliates (I list wikipedia because very often whoever uploaded the poster got it from WWEAffiliates). - Not at all in the WWEAffiliates image database. So, for now, I'm going to say it's not the actual poster. At the very least, not the final poster. -
I was going to post that in the VC thread earlier, but apparently that hasn't been used since May and I didn't want to be a thread bumper. The significance of Mario RPG's VC release it that it's North American VC title #250.

It was distributed in 1989. That said, I loved the guys WWE run. Not so much WCW but the Millennium Man shtick (and Sid chokeslamming people counting as wins in his streak) sounds pretty funny. I only caught bits and pieces of that.

WWE General Discussion - September 2008
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I am absolutely fine with people discussing random notes about WWE's past or comparing old events to relevance in the modern day (like the Undertaker/Mania discussion that broke out in the August CTDWAT thread). Coming up with some sort of properly named thread with well defined parameters was (still is, I guess) something I had brewing in my mind. Might as well mention another new idea (which is basically an old idea re-visited): WON notes are coming back tomorrow. Often times, especially now that it's online, I'll see someone randomly copy a news tidbit from F4W or WON and, because they don't think it's worth a thread, discuss it here. The new plan is to summarize some news bits from both newsletters (but no C&P theft jobs here) in a thread, titled something like "Weekly F4W and WON Notes - September 1, 2008". Ditto TNA folder. Someone who isn't me can feel free to do so for the Indy scene (or even WWE and TNA if I'm slow to get it). General Wrestling will get summarized notes from the historical WON series. -
Some quick research shows he won back to back matches against Masters on September 4 and 11, 2006, and on the 25th Carlito and Super Crazy defeated Orton and Masters in a tag match. However, there was a 6 person IC title match on the 18th that he didn't win (but didn't lose), so the streak may be in question!
