I laughed quite loudly at Kelly's dentist check-up card.

I'm quite bad at this.

Owen "doesn't care about a piece of leather with some tin on it", this issue with Shawn Michaels is real life, McMahon!

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread

I read that as "Matt Young" and was temporarily confused. -
Good timing on a "FEAR BENOIT" sign being shown at almost the same time Tony commenting that Raven's absence is mysterious since he's scheduled to wrestle Benoit was muted out. You know it's a 3 hour Nitro when you have a Vincent match.

I get it, the demo is out. Somehow I remembered the date as the 8th.

24/7 fans know that Tricky Nick was a colour commentator for The Fed in 1987.

Not just someone, it was... MEEEEE!

The VQ update. They said if the winner already had the highest video quality, the runner up would go up too.

Don't know and don't know, just saw it in Community Games and thought it was interesting.

I suspected that 80s MSG intro was fake and youtube confirms it is, but I don't care, that 24/7 dub music is incredibly upbeat. This is the real intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FowWh8hK-Fk Note the sports clips I think have to be excised from 24/7 as well.

Raw is pretty great! Lots of historic things going on there. Jim Ross comes up with the New Age Outlaws name, Vince compares WWE to King of the Hill (a notion I wanted to make fun of, but I guess Austin does drive a pick-up truck and drink beer), Owen cuts an awesome profanity laced promo, and observant viewers will notice the debut of the scratch logo watermark. Unless that happened last week and I wasn't being observant. But Sultan vs. Tom Brandi? Yikes.

What will be the worst movie of 2009?

Street Fighter '94 is on Showcase Action right now. I know how I'm spending the next 2 hours! -
That was kind of addressed on an episode of Heat by Michael Hayes and Kevin Kelly during a Steve Blackman / Funaki hardcore match. Hayes: Why did Funaki catch the trash can? Kelly: Why wouldn't he? "I'm just going to let the trash can hit me in the head!"

There was a clip on 24/7 of Hogan and Warrior hugging at the Mania VI arena so I would guess that was from the "Relive" stuff.

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion

I say it every March! I still like the TV shows though, but only one MNW episode this month is a bit of a piss off. -
Meltzer mentioned on the Monday audio update that Kozlov has several detractors now (I believe based on his poor matches with everyone, and I think the Undertaker match on Friday was the clincher). The fact he has lost twice clean looks to me like they're about done pushing him.

WWE General Discussion - March 2009

I read that comment in JBL's voice. I'm going to assume that is who you are. -
All-American Wrestling is fun. My favourite part had to be the UPDATE! portion. Apparently it was very important that Al Hayes tell us in a deadpan, monotone delivery (with different camera angles!) that JYD was dancing with a young Booker T. That was literally the whole segment - JYD getting down. I was sad that Mr. T told Hulk they'd do some street fighting with muggers, but no street fighting made it into their training montage. I could have been hearing things but it sounded like just for a little bit, you could hear the "Eye of the Tiger" playing softly in the background, but once Hogan said "eye of the tiger" to cue the song at full blast, naturally a dub song took over.

WWE General Discussion - March 2009

Fun story about the WWE Merchandising Dept: They once sent me an envelope with some sloppy handwriting with my address and Canada was spelled wrong ("Candana" or some similar spelling). The envelope had a nice WWE logo on it though (it contained a Vengeance 2003 proof of purchase, or whichever 2003 DVD was erroneously missing one that caused you to have to request one to get the box for the 2003 DVDs). -
WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion

Considering Legacy hasn't even properly updated their page - and that's the section WWE.com actually cares about - I won't hold my breath on a 24/7 page update today. Edit: Oh, I get it, it's a daily thing this month. I think someone at .com read this and took it as a challenge since the Mania 2 video was immediately posted. I guess I'll just wait patiently for the On Demand page to be updated then. -
If Hitler City, North Carolina hadn't changed their name to Charlotte, they'd be sunk!
