Brent BUTT is waiting to beat you.

His daughter was also in a battle bots competition, but continuity is not the Simpson's strong point.

The Simpsons: A 'concept' episode that DIDN'T suck, how about that? I enjoyed the origin of the cat lady, but the Captain Mcallister / Disco Stu origin fake out was my favourite joke. The commercial for the Simpsons movie was great - the animation looks fantastic so let's just hope it's funny. King of the Hill: Nothing wrong with it, but nothing memorable either. I found it odd that, with Bill's male cousin from New Orleans appearing and saying he was the only family member, no one ever mentioned the female cousins from the same episode this was a callback to. Family Guy: It was there. I thought the muppets were funny but here I am, the episode just ending 45 minutes ago, and I don't remember much else that was great. Man I wish they didn't kill off the vaudville guys. American Dad: Awesome stuff which is becoming the norm instead of the exception for this show. I don't want to sound like I'm just ripping off what Scott Keith has said about the show, but it's strength is that most of the show's good jokes are direclty plot based, so I found myself watching this show for 30 minutes wrapped up in the plot of the peanut butter conspiracy AND laughing all the way along. A novel idea, eh? To contradict what I just said, my favourite joke was the seemingly random scene in Burger King where Stan declared that "The economics of television have changed. Have it... your way". Thoughts?

Excellent, back on track. Your TSMpedia entry will need to be amended, Andrew! I remember you told me a few weeks ago the SoR ordeal(s) would be added to the list by you in the future, and there it is.

When I was a subscribed in the Summer (and they had the full schedules on a calendar on WWE.com), shows would often be around for a month. Some months, they put to MNW episodes up on the same day, but usually what would happen is there would be two episodes and when one expired 4 weeks later, a new one would replace it (so basically, you got two a month, with a two week gap before a new one). Without an actual schedule it's very hard to figure out, but it SEEMS their new scheduling for most shows is to make it available for two weeks and then remove it, replacing it with the next one. I think ECW is the exception right now as there is supposed to be 3 episodes in March. Even the Shorties, you used to get 10 at the beginning of the month for the whole month. Now it's on an odd pattern of about 5-6 in week 1, then some more in week 3, and the rest in week 4. I like the current way of doing it - it really spaces it out nicely. I have e-mailed 24/7 a few times suggesting they air 4 MNW episodes a month, especially upon realization that even skipping 6 episodes or so a year (dog show, tennis, and NBA playoff weeks) it will take about DOUBLE the time of the actual MNW to see all of the episodes... that's a long time.

We're a proud bunch, I guess.

Keep in mind that Patterson was the only person on that panel that was there in 1991 and I recall him kind of keeping quiet while Hayes brought up the move. It might be one of those wrestling situations where it was said enough that people just accept it as fact now (like HTM being the greatest IC champ). Or maybe not.

There should be a Money in the Bank match at Mania. It's annual now.

JBL is pretty good again on WWE.com's latest "Around the Ring" audio show. "I was saddened to learn that Virgil and Jake Roberts are still alive" "In 1997 we had 10 luchadores in the Rumble. This year we had 1. You tell me the border isn't more secure" Him and Cole say something about dirt sheet writers that I didn't quite catch, something about censorship that I'm not sure what's being referenced.

For anyone that didn't see "King Booker at The Movies" on SmackDown Muppets! Muppets I say!
-
Maybe he's a free agent? It seems the moved him to Raw just to job him to Kozlov on house shows and appear on Heat.

To confuse things more, here is a new official match for NWO: Benoit and The Hardys vs. MNM and MVP. Also confirmed by WWE.com was Helms vs. Daivari vs. Chavo vs. Moore vs. Funaki vs. Yang vs. Scotty vs. Noble. They call it "Helms' toughest challenge to date", but isn't this pretty much the same match he had at last year's NWO with a few guys swapped in and out?
-
El Dandy~! is missing from the main page, although that entry isn't very good. Who are you to doubt him?
-
I hear that (although I usually FF through the matches, not the in-studio banter).

My work schedule allows me to watch SmackDown again, so that's good. I've caught a few episode here and there and heard about how it's been good lately, but for months I've been working 4pm-12am on Friday and 8am-4pm on Saturday; basically, I could tape SD Friday night but I didn't stay up to watch it and by Saturday afternoon didn't feel like it anymore. The King Booker segment was awesome, I loved the way he would say something and it would appear on screen like a quote from a film review.

Graham's site says they aired it in October of 85 as well. Keep in mind all of this Fuji stuff they're showing is from 1985 as well. I guess without a PPV to build to for another 7 months they just dig into the past. I believe Monsoon has been ending the last few episodes by advertising the next show as looking at some matches from the past.
-
Doing research, it would seem the Dynamite/Bret match is from September 14, 1985.

I never realized how old some of the matches shown on Prime Time (in context to the original air date of PTW) were until this episode. The reference to giving away a Rolls Royce during Bret/Dynamite places that match in 1985! I enjoyed that match as well. I also liked the Islanders squash, despite the audience chanting boring. Tama had a great leap on that splash finisher. Bruno was funny on commentary - by funny, I mean I didn't know he was even there until Jesse mentioned him dating a female wrestler named Princess Toma which Bruno responded to with "I'm happily married". I believe that was his only contribution to the commentary, despite the Vince asked him a direct question about Hulk's chances against Andre (Bruno may have started to answer but I only heard Jesse talking). They mentioned the next PTW episode will have a Muracco / Fuji stand up comedy routine. That should be awesome. I couldn't stop laughing at Heenan saying Lord Alfred's uncle, "Fingers Hayes", broke into the Royal Palace. I think it was just his delivery on "Fingers Hayes".

Yeah, exactly. You had a group of guys that could have had a MATCH, but it became "let's put all the faces over in fun spots", which made it a "fun match" instead of the great tag elimination match it could have been. I recall Booker / Batista being boring.

"JBL wrestling at Wrestlemania is about as likely as The Ultimate Warrior and yours truly being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame" - JR. That guy updates his blog a lot, it's hard to keep track with all his witty remarks. Those are good Kurt Angle shirts.

That episode was tremendous. I think I rewound to Dwight falling off the desk at the beginning three times. A Dwight/Creed alliance is comedy gold and Michael's deal in the business class was good stuff.

Mike Graham is awesome on the Legends show if only because of how un-awesome he is. It's so funny to have Dusty and Hayes talk about big things in their career and to have Mike chime in "I also wrestled Flair in 60 minute matches", then Jim Ross just moves on to the next topic. Not sure why he put down Sting, and yeah, like cabbage said, when he says something like "Sting didn't belong in the ring with Flair" you just have to say "and you are who to say this?". He's good as the CWF host, though. BL: I remember in November I (and many on the board) were all hyped up for DX/Hardys/Punk vs Rated RKO/Helms/Nitro/Knox and man what a let down that was. I'm kinda looking forward to re-watching it later, though.

It was. Edit: And already pointed out to you twice making this unnecessary. Goodbye Totally Crazy, we'll miss your rants against Corporate America.

The 24/7 version of Spring Stampede is funny. Regal and Austin have their music edited and I can't figure out why. Unless he was using a different theme that I can't remember, the theme I associate WCW Regal with was used without problem on Nitro. I can't say I remember if Austin was using the Hollywood Blonds theme after the split, but if he was, 24/7 has used that theme before as well. The Fake Gary Michael Cappetta is also back; I found this odd when I heard the voice because Gary's real voice was still heard through what sounded like fake theme music for Johnny B. Badd and DDP AND he didn't bother trying to imitate Gary. I later realized that whoever was providing the voice was acting as a way to edit out Michael Buffer (I understand he has royalty issues with this sort of thing). I began wondering if they would overdub this guys voice while Buffer was on screen for the main event, but they did a fairly seamless edit that transitioned from ring entrances to the match. The theme they gave Rick Rude is one that I KNOW belongs to another wrestler but I just can't place the wrestler, company, or year. I have to give credit - if they absolutely feel the need to give generic themes to avoid royalty payments, a lot of times they make decent ones or replacement decisions, especially since a lot of 90s themes were pretty generic anyway - but not always. At any rate, it's come a long way from the days when they would edit Benoit's WWE theme into a WCW match. For the show itself, I had only seen it once - about 5 years ago on a tape from the only place in the city that still had an extensive selection of VHS wrestling in 2002, now out of business - and I enjoyed it. Watching it again, I didn't think it was as good as I remembered (maybe because I couldn't FF through parts I didn't want to watch as I was recording it) but I man, Flair/Steamboat was good. Cactus / Payne vs Nasty Boys I have on DVD but it's still a fun brawl, "The Boss" vs Vader is good (really!), and Muta/Austin is fairly dull but picks up near the end.

I enjoyed WCCW. Very similar to Tazz and Styles on the ECW shows, having Hayes and Kevin Von Erich do intros/outros to add perspective on what we're watching is great. I love seeing kids running up and getting autographs while a wrestler is in the ring - it's just a really weird site. I've heard for awhile that their production value was considered state of the art for the day, so I was not surprised to see that this show from 1982 totally blows away the production of the AWA or 1985 NWA studio shows.
