I don't think any fan choices are going to win anyway. Umaga will win, Hardy will retain, and Flair WILL win the tag titles but none of his partners are on the roster anyway. I think K-Fed telling people to vote for the WWE title is supposed to make them not, but it's a triple threat match and will be last so I probably put both Booker and Cena in it. As with all triple threat Fantasy 2 out of 3 picks I've ever made, this means Big Show will win it and then lost the belt on Raw or something. Actually, I get the feeling Cena will win regardless of the title so maybe I'll just use him.

oAo ECW on Sci Fi Thread // October 24, 2006

I was under the impression that Heyman didn't have much control over the ECW product and he is being used as more of a consultant than a booker. I think he meant Heyman the character, not the Heyman the consultant. -
Does anyone have a video of This Week in Wrestling History?
-
That's one of the things I liked about when the issued Rey/Eddie from Halloween Havoc 97 (also, the commentary). It's too bad that on Bret's DVD, of all the matches to have a technical problem, it's the WrestleMania 13 match.

Isn't Sony involved in another lawsuit about a patent, possibly about dual shock rumble technology? -
Way to miss the first base hit of the night, Fox.

Excellent, both guys are on my Fantasy roster. RVD winning would make for a better Cyber Sunday main event but I don't see it, especially since it would mean they would already have taped Big Show with the ECW title for SmackDown (unless he conveniently didn't have it for the tag match main event). -
I fell asleep by 1:35 last night watching the replay after work but managed to catch "This week in Wrestling History" on Score's replay this afternoon. That was an awesome segment. "And for no reason at all.... zombie orderlies" (or whatever the quote was).

Uninteresting fact: I was in St. Louis for an hour on my way to a set of Tigers games in Kansas City (where they clinched a playoff spot). Took pictures of Bushc Stadium from the Gateway Arch. During Game 2 I was flipping between Fox and Sportsnet - the digital ads on the greenscreen were very annoying on Sportsnet. They did a fake "billboard sign cards flipping to change the ad" animation which seemed pointless since there were so many shots revealing the green screen. Anyone who somehow didn't notice the green screen could probably have come to the conlcusion the ads were placed in post-production when things like "Torontobluejays.com" and "Mr. Sub" (Canadian sub eatery) popped up.

This is the same D'Amore who pushed for the X-Division in TNA to be total comedy and nothing but spots and brought in Sirelda. Doesn't change the fact we're from the same city and thus I am biased. Speaking of (fairly close to) my hometown, the Detroit Tigers visited SmackDown in St. Louis http://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/articles/3112452/3542784

Scott D'amoe once called Lashley "Monty Brown without the charisma".

I watched the 1988 Halloween Primetime episode on 24/7 today. Heenand was gold when he went with the hot dog place (Tony Polackos I believe) with Monsoon. Off-topic: Anyone think merging the WCW tidbits, WWF tidbits, Old School Questions, and What You're watching threads (questionable on the last) into one big CTDWAT thread would be a good idea? I often watch things on 24/7 or an old tape and I just feel like saying "hey, remember when X happened?". That's neither me asking a question or giving an old tidbit, or reviewing a match I just watched. At the very least, I think General Wrestling needs a CTDWAT.

Sony sues Lik Sang the hell out of business

As evil as Sony is these days, it didn't stop me from buying a silver PS2 today. To be fair, I really needed a new, working PS2. -
Why did we close the ban suggestion thread?

So after deciding 4 months ago that my slowly becoming non-functioning PS2 needs to be replaced, today is the day where it goes down. EB Games warned me that to get credit for my PS2, they have to run 3 tests on it - a game, DVD, and CD. I don't know how well they test or how much patience EB has for the testing process, though. A lot of times, even for a game that does work, you'll need to try twice and load the game throwing the browsing menu. It needs to be replaced regardless of whether I can get store credit towards a new one or not. Edit: And the bulky, loud machine from 2001 is worth nothing. First thing the guy did was comment that my AV wire was too frayed to consider taking it in, but salesman 2 said "just test it". They tested a dual layer game (I believe it was God of War) first, and from what I understand those are the main games that aren't loading in my PS2. Naturally when it didn't load, the trade-in was off the table. I bought a new silver PS2 and called it a day. Salesman #1 did suggest giving the old PS2 to a Cash Convertors but really, I'm at the point where I can't do that in good conscious if the hardware has become so bad. I have no problem selling it to a friend for $20, though (he knows the hit or missness of it... I might even just give it to him). I guess the nice thing about buying a new PS2 is it's slim, quiet, and it WORKS (I can finally rent/buy games without fear of them not loading!). I suppose I could even go online with it if I brought it up here. Also, 2 PS2's in 5 years seems better than multiple Xbox 360s in one year... right Anya? Of course most SNESs from 15 years ago work just fine but that's another story.

"In a band called Gothic Mayhem along with Fuji Cakes, Johnny Punch (formerly Discord) and Pat Buck. Is currently dating Mike "The Miz" Mizanin from Smackdown!" Indisputable evidence from my #1 source for wrestling info.

I'm at a disadvantgae this week thanks to an unusual work schedule. My normal Monday off is now a 12-12 shift, so I'll need to make picks before I leave for work tomorrow morning and hope it pans out. There are already some matches announced, so that's a plus.

Kenny Rogers and Tood Jones both keep their respective streaks of not allowing any runs / loading the bases in the 9th to scare all the Tigers fans. There was an article in the paper here in Windsor about Kenny Rogers throwing a ball to a kid with a "Kenny Rogers is my Hero" sign the last two games he pitched and how his dad (the VP of a hospital and a lawyer) hoped he could get tickets for this game to keep the streak going. He did, so I can't help but wonder if Rogers gave him a 3rd ball.
-
I mean, I want it to go 6 games and all to give the Tigers a home game win, but I wish they didn't need to start the series like this. Side note: I've seen it many times previously, but it has to be said the Star Trek DirecTV commercial is excellent.

I just hope DX vs Edge/Orton doesn't become the usual Buried Alive affair, killing off Edge's WM ME potential. -
So I hear the DS doubles as a controller for some Pokemon game. Interesting.
-
Sadly, it's still the best Superman game to date, although I seem to recall playing a co-op arcade game when I was a kid that seemed decent enough.
-
Also note that November 2nd is the next episode scheduled, meaning no episode this Thursday.
