So are you saying we should forget the debut of Cryme Tyme, sluggo?

Crabman is my favourite character.

Maybe it's all a set-up for Ultimate MKA...

Every line Dwight had was awesome - from his argument with Creed about human/chicken instant death ("the way to go"), the Ed Truck statue/robot (with a six foot extension cord to keep it on a leash when it turns on everyone), his wishes for his body after death, his grandpa being stuffed into an oil drum, always having his recorder ready... wow. GREAT Dwight episode. I really thought Creed was going to have line of the night with his "what did I say?" interaction with Dwight, but the ball of grief scene took it. The good grief line is what I laughed loudest at despite the fact I kinda saw the punchline coming.

The Jannetty one is my favourite.

If Tigers are going to take this one, I hope it's this weekend and not Tuesday (or even Wednesday) in Oakland. I want to see some crazy celebrating on TV after the game. I'm glad I only work 8-4 on the weekend and have Monday and Tuesday off. If it comes down to a game six, at least I'll be home to watch, but I'm really hoping it's done in 4 or 5.

I don't believe so (he may have been on the ramp with everyone else except Undertaker, but he did not say or do anything on the show).

Fantasy is so stupid this year. They used to go out of their way to seat early deadlines to avoid spoiler cheating, but now they count ECW shows that are taped a week in advance. On top of that, the current deadline for rosters for week 2 is still Monday by 7pm - Raw/SD are being taped on Sunday. So you can either read spoilers and cheat or not read spoilers, enjoy the shows as they happen, and lose badly. Edit: They caught their mistake, at least for Raw/SD. "Due to SmackDown and RAW being held on Sunday, Oct. 15, rosters for Week 2 will lock on SUNDAY, OCT. 15 at 7 p.m. ET. Be sure to make your picks a day early!"

The Daily Show/Colbert Report Thread
DrVenkman PhD replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in Television & Film
Yeah, that was a tremendous TCR. George Lucas being a finalist in the green screen challenge was gold. I also enjoyed the idea of a Tek Jansen adventure being a mundane adventure in landing a spacecraft. -
Good chance I already added this to the thread back in 'the day', but Lawler saying Tajiri is his favourite SmackDown! announcer when he enters the 2003 Royal Rumble is pretty funny. Ross had to tell him it was Funaki.

I don't think so, and Michaels mentioned that as well on the Eddie Raw. I forget what Michaels said exactly (it was something about Heaven) but people took it to mean a WrestleMania match was going to be in the works.
-
I thought MVP's gimmick was that he sucks but asked for a lot of money (another money making, house drawing character by creative). I don't think him winning a title would fit that.

Too much! If I'm not mistaken, 3 weeks after Armageddon would be NYR, which is usually 3 weeks before the Rumble, which is usually 3 weeks before No Way Out. The problem with the placement of the ECW PPV is it seems to have been slotted in like the first two One Night Stand PPV - very close between two existing 'WWE' PPVs. That worked when the first one was a totally different PPV experience than the E had been offering (and to an extent, the same could be said about the 2nd), but now it's just a PPV for a brand that is a Raw/SmackDown spin-off - especially if they only offer one or two "extreme rules" matches (considering Unforgiven had a TLC and HIAC match).

Hey everyone, commercials lie. Welcome back, Marv. I didn't understand all the talk about the Legends roundtable Hogan episode as it appeared nowhere on my 24/7 listings. The release said it was free, so I also checked the "samples" section but not there either. I take it this was some DirecTV only one time airing? Eh, it will be on 24/7 next month. The one on 24/7 now about Piper and Funk was good to watch, I like the roundtable discussions. I forget how the segue happened, but somehow talking about Funk and/or Piper led to them showing Hayes' promo from December. Hayes said he was surprised no one in the back came up to ask him for advice after it, instead looking to work on their next 'flippy move'. Edit: Evidentally the Hogan deal is up on WWE.com, "presented by 24/7", along with a Divas special.

BEACHES OF ROSARITO. So similar to a function of wrestling, municipal police officers (technical) were faced against the fighter "The Niche" (coarse) achieving its detention, after struck and despoiled a youth of its vehicle. To the 10:25 of this Monday the agents Alfonso Almaraz and Carlos Peraza Gerardo, they were intercepted by Alejandro Valencia Ramírez of 23 years and resident of the colony White Pike, to denounce that moments before, had been undertaken for a subject that struck it being carried its car marks Mitsubishi black color, being given to the leak. It said that first asked him the keys of its car assuring that later would return itself it, but as was denied, then piped it with a weapon that brought cover with a same white towel with the one that a strong blow in the face causing him favored him a hemorrhage in the mouth. After the accusation, an operating one was initiated particularly in the colony Crosthwaite where him was located and al to be felt threatened was given to the leak toward the street 5 of May impacting the vehicle with two cars more in its failed intent by evading to the justice. And the fact is that immediately, with the aid of the units 3269, M7, 3589 and 3286 al could be assured subject that was identified like Dionisio Spanish 35-year-old Towers, is resident of Beaches of Tijuana and is performed as the fighter. And thus it behaved with the police officers of very aggressive way but the keys of the officials were more effective managing to shackle it to transfer it to the command of police where was interrogated by the Judge Calificador Javier Francisco of the Castle Hernández. Of the pursuit resulted injured Yesenia Saraí Mejía López of 18 years and counts on 3 months of embarrassment for which received aid of the paramedics of Red Cross. In the meantime the person under arrest, included a knapsack black color where was found him a black gun with green, gray and anaranjado that resulted to be of plastic and had as legend BUZZ BEE TOYS.

I really do like the bottom one.

It would have been nice if I had Batista but it's difficult to see in advance that a $5M roster pick will win a match on Raw and compete in a specialty match on SmackDown, but at least I have Finlay. Biggest bomb I have this week would be the no points scoring Carlito, who I swapped in for Jeff Hardy (who I could have made 12 points out of). Had I known Benoit was due back this week I probably would have spent the 3.5 on him, but I don't like making randomly picking on the shelf wrestlers hoping it's their big week to come back.

Guess who was browsing the forums at 9:27 this morning?
-
Refresh my memory - is this an extra PPV or was it given to ECW to replace Armageddon?
-
Well, whichever season had the biggest turnout, we had at least 5-10 teams that weren't making picks, or made picks once and then left their team unchanged. So far we only have one, and they may have just forgot (apparently everyone but Grisham in the WWE league forgot about it starting as well).

I was wondering the same thing, especially since WWE isn't mentioned.

From PWI Smackdown Spoilers For Friday: Opened with a No Mercy recap. It's the same one from Raw. Announced that Batista, Bobby Lashley, and Finlay will be facing off in a number one contenders match for the World Heavyweight Championship on next week's edition of Smackdown. Ken Kennedy makes his way out and cuts a promo. He opens by saying that he's asked Teddy to move him to Raw since he's beaten all on Smackdown. However Teddy said no since he hadn't beaten Undertaker. Well at No Mercy he did just that. Kennedy said he didn't care how he won it and that all that mattered was wins and losses and he defeated Taker. However that just wasn't good enough for Teddy. Kennedy then puts his title on the line against someone he hasn't defeated on Smackdown and when he beats him, then he's heading to Raw. Ken Kennedy vs Chris Benoit for the United States Championship. Benoit dominated early, and then Kennedy takes over after Benoit's attempt to turn the Sharp Shooter into the Crossface backfires. Kennedy stays in control until Undertaker's music hits and he stares at the entrance way. Benoit then takes control again and wins the United States Championship at 15:42 when he gets Kennedy into the Crossface. We are then shown the segment on Raw when Vince books the Cyber Sunday main event. Backstage, King Booker wants Teddy Long to cancel the number 1 contenders match. Booker then says that he's Smackdown's only chance of winning at Cyber Sunday. Teddy Long then reminds King Booker that all three men hold wins over the champ, then says he's not changing his mind. William Regal comes out and we are all reminded of what happened to him at No Mercy. William Regal vs Vito: Basically the same match we've seen from these two before. Vito wins at 4:26 after he counters a sunset flip and sits on top of Regal. Lashley then is shown backstage saying that he's faced adversity before and welcomes the pressure. Lashley also says he will not only become the number 1 contender, but become World Champion. MVP makes an appearance and says he has a MVP sized problem. His problem was that there was no competition and that Teddy Long was trying to play him with the match he had at No Mercy. MVP says that he's ready for his Smackdown debut and wants something he can sink his teeth into and that will make him work up at sweat. Teddy Long then comes out and says if he wants to break a sweat, it's gonna get real hot. Kane then comes out. During this segment, crowd breaks out into a loud 'Power Rangers' chant. Kane vs MVP: Well it wasn't a match, but more or less a glorified beatdown. The bell never rang as every time the ref would call for the bell, MVP would prevent him and 'warm up'. Kane then beats MVP down around ringside before MVP rakes Kane's eyes and bails. John Cena at Paris Island video plays. During which Jamie Noble comes out. Jamie Noble vs Rey Mysterio. Before the match begins, Chavo and Vickie comes out to say hi. Chavo says not for Rey to worry as they will not venture ringside. The match itself was a decent back and forth affair won by Rey Mysterio after he hits the 619, springboard legdrop combo at 4:38. Post match, Chavo says that he's at the lowest point of his career. Chavo continues by saying that as long as both Rey and Chavo are on the same brand, there will always be problems. Chavo then challenges Rey to an I-Quit match where the loser must leave. Rey says something I was unable to hear, but Vickie comes back and says that the difference between Eddie and Rey was that Eddie had balls. Rey says that he will prove what he is made of and that "I Quit" is not going to come from Rey, but from Chavo. Paul London, Brian Kendrick and Jimmy Wang Yang (with Ashley) vs KC James, Idol Stevens and Sylvan (with Michelle McCool). This match broke down early and was that way for the majority of it. Jimmy Wang Yang pins Sylvan at 3:26 after hitting a moonsault. Cole asks Finlay, who is backstage a question. Finlay says he will be the world champion. Finlay says he will knock Lashley's teeth in and just beat down Batista. Batista then cuts a promo saying that he is going to get what he wants and it doesn't matter what he has to go through. Booker T and Sharmell join Michael Cole and JBL at ringside. Bobby Lashley vs Finlay vs Batista for the number one contendership to the World Heavyweight Championship next Friday. This was about as well as it was going to be. Nothing much happened in the first half of the match, but once all three men got outside, it got interesting. Batista takes the broadcast table apart, but is taken through it with the help of Lashley and Finlay. Lashley and Finlay then fight in the ring and after Finlay hits the Celtic Cross on Lashley, Batista breaks the count up on 2. Lashley goes for a military press and is speared by Batista. Batista pins Finlay cleanly at 13:47 after Finlay hits Lashley with the stick and Batista hits the Batista Bomb on Finlay. Post match, Batista and King Booker get involved in a stare down. King Booker gets into the ring and is beaten down, but before Booker is Batista Bombed, he bails. Unsure where the taping ended, if it was during the stare down, or after Batista got his hands on King Booker

ECW Taping. Match one: Singapore Cane on a pole match between Sandman and Matt Striker: Striker works over Sandman's leg in the early going, gets the cane, then gets a few shots in. Sandman counters, gets the cane, and gives Striker a few good blows, opening up a cut. Striker then bails the ring and Sandman wins via countout at 3:44. CM Punk vs Rene Dupree: Been the standard Punk match the last month. Dupree gets the early offense, and CM Punk then comes back getting the uranage and Anaconda Vice for the submission win at 2:12. Post match, Mike Knox tries to attack, but once he gets to the ring, he backs off again. There was no Kelly Kelly sighting tonight. RVD cuts a promo saying that he's got what he wanted, a rematch with Big Show. RVD continued by saying he came back, started at the bottom, and has worked his way back up. RVD says he knows he has what it takes to slay the dragon and that eventually Big Show will have to put his ECW Title on the line. Test comes out to the ring and opens by saying he's the most ruthless competitor ECW has ever seen. We are reminded of Bob Holly's back injury during his match with RVD and of what Test did when Holly got his hands on Heyman. Test then tells us that Holly will be returning in a week. Balls Mahoney then comes out saying if he's looking or competition, Balls is ready to go. Test says not tonight, but the both of them start fighting in ring which leads to... Test vs. Balls Mahoney. Test wins with the TKO at 2:57. More or less a glorified squash with Balls being taken for a ride around the ring. Shannon Moore comes out during the break... Shannon Moore vs. Sabu: Sabu does his thing and wins at 2:23 with a somersault leg drop over the top rope. Big Show then cuts a promo saying that it's a good day for RVD. Big Show thinks that RVD may be stepping in the ring with the ECW Champ, but he's really stepping into the ring with the Champion of Champions, which he will become at Cyber Sunday. Big Show then says that RVD won't have a happy ending as Big Show will cut RVD down. ECW Main Event: Big Show vs RVD. Decent match that had RVD chasing the entire way through. Just as RVD looks to be gaining the upper hand, Big Show spears RVD and then we have our glorified ref bump. Test comes out, grabs a chair, and hits RVD in the gut with it. Then Bob Holly makes his way out, taking Test out with the chair and as Big Show gets Holly, Holly takes Big Show out with the chair. RVD hits the five star frogsplash and wins at 10:23. Crowd popped for Holly's appearance and the finish.

Punk/Dupree and Moore/Sabu is what I read elsewhere.

Awesome catch right there, especially since a run would have been scored otherwise.
