Racial stereotypes parody? I am PSYCHED. (100% serious).

I have nothing against the name Versus or Vs. - my question is, why did Hottoaster go period-versus-period (.vs.)

Aren't most women? Maybe it's me... Anyway, yes, this was an odd piece of news to wake up to at work this morning. Considering all the crazy things he did, I didn't think his career / life would end at the hands of a string ray toxin (or whatever) that's for sure. It was weird to read how big of a deal this is in Australia.

12 am Friday (Saturday morning) on Global and a few other times on the Xtreme channel (which I believe Meltz reported has roughly 300 subscribers).

Hopefully I'm not violating the policy of "being nice to people and not being a jerk in wrestling folders" that Alfdogg has stated he wants to see, but since when does versus have a period both before and after the abbreviation "vs"? Also I assume everyone is aware Carlito vs Orton has been added to Unforgiven via WWE.com

Rock on, 'Sault.

Too early as usual (and some people seem to be agreeing with me), but hooray! No week in the thread title!

Like "Hardcore Discussion" was a better name? Yes. It was. Or, you could rename it, "The Pit." You're both right. I saw nothing wrong with just leaving it NHB. People can make fictional claims about evolution all they want, this forum grew out of being a wrestling board and there is no shame in making the forum battlegrounds have a wrestling-esque title. Hey, the "Battlegrounds" is pretty neat sounding.

I'm a mark for the SD! games so I'm looking forward to the PS2 version of this. Here's hoping for a better version of GM mode (I'm not holding my breath, but a kayfabe-breaking "booker chooses the winner" type thing would be nice). My friend and I played a season of it, it was an amusing time waster. Kid Kash being in while others like London are omitted is somewhat bizarre, unless they made their roster choices around the Royal Rumble when he was CW champ and being pushed while London was marching to Titan Towers to complain about jobbing to Nunzio (I forget exactly when that ended and his re-push with Kendrick began).

I just finished watching this and it was pretty depressing sitting through it. All throughout the spring and summer, Mortis and Wrath were getting a very nice push. Then, it was all squandered as they were treated like WCW Pro jobbers by The Outsiders. Outside of a couple decent moves by Mortis, the Outsiders completely dominated and mocked two of the most unique and original gimmicks in WCW (I know, not saying much). Just awful. And about one year later, Nash ended Wrath's singles push as being undefeated.

I can't catch a break with WWE's on demand services. First I get my credit card stolen and am unable to start a new account with 24/7 Online, and now I get 24/7 on cable and Cogeco doesn't have all the shows that it should. I still love it, but the fact that I'm always missing events from "The Big Ones" is somewhat annoying. This is starting my 3rd week with it and I'm missing more content than usual - the new NWA show for the week did not appear, and as usual I am missing all PPV events. The really weird thing this week is, since TBO for me is usually just house shows (the first week it had SummerSlam 92 and a Meadowlands show from 88, second week it just had the house show), I have Boston Gardens 86 and MSG 91. That MSG show was not supposed to be on 24/7 for another 2 weeks, and the description for the Boston show is actually for ECW Barley Legal (which should be in the section along with Starrcade 85, The Wrestling Classic, and ECW ONS 2, but isn't).

It's a Quebec thing due to lack of The Score. That is my understanding on the odd Raw airing situation in Quebec, anyway.
-
I didn't realize Raw was on USA this week and assumed it was still on Sci-Fi. Not that it matters to me - Tennis is on TSN and Raw is on The Score. Sidenote: I noticed my digital guide listed the US Open as being on CNBC tonight.

A few of the previous seasons were 10 weeks. If you see the first page of the Season 7 thread you'll see I referred to it as a "marathon" season, as 14 weeks was the longest yet (I believe).

Even better news: Unhappily Ever After starts on CFMT (Omni1) tomorrow.
-
I already ranted about this with ECW. I was half expecting Butterspoon to call this "Raw Week #693" in regards to my other complaint, but, much like his rant in NHB about other posters, I'm not nearly imnportant enough to be spited at in that way.

Well, according to my #1 source for all wrestling news (Wikipedia): Adonis wrestled briefly with the WWF after WrestleMania III and was released. Adonis then wrestled with the AWA again during 1987. During this stint, Adonis feuded with Tommy Rich and lost the final match of the AWA International Television Championship tournament to Greg Gagne in December 1987. Adrian Adonis was decapitated in a gruesome car crash, along with Dave "Wildman" McKigney and Pat Kelly on July 4, 1988 in Newfoundland in a van crash with a wild moose.

I also had not heard the term before. I don't care for any of this, really, and now alfdogg is threatening people to not insult others for having stupid opinions in the WWE folder. How can any self respecting person bring an argument over to a folder called... ugh... "Chocolate Socket"?
-
Excellent stuff, though myself (and most people I talk) to to think much more highly of that 6 man tag match (I usually call it the 2nd best match on the show). I just want to clarify - I DO like WrestleMania III, I just felt like making a snap "it is?" comment to cabbageboy's "one of the best ever" comment.

Turtle was watching TUF in an episode this season, correct? Too late for this now, but TMN in Canada had a Season 2 marathon earlier today and is in the middle of a Season 3 one right now.

The IC title match made more sense as a PPV bout. Maybe they'll add Benjamin and Carlito and make it a four way on PPV... or maybe they just won't defend the IC title. Or maybe this match will not have a decisive ending.

It is?

Growing up I thought Kamala debuted in 1992 as I never saw him on old event tapes. This is really good stuff, and as previously mentioned is (currently, but will probably jump ahead) being written here as I am seeing it unfold on episodes of Primetime on 24/7. Can someone brief me on what happened to Tom Zenk? I know I've heard that he disliked Vince, but I never realized that the Can-Am Connection were groomed for a big tag title reign until reading these transcripts. The only match I've ever seen them in is from WrestleMania III.

That would be the one (MSG, 85)

I watched a match between Greg Valentine and Ricky Steamboat from 1985 on 24/7 last night. When I watch something from the 80s from the Fed, I usually expect some punchy-kicky-resthold stuff that I'll tell myself is entertaining because it's nostalgic and "that's how things worked back then". This, however, was a pretty good match I felt. Steamboat did a lot by doing nothing at all... he just got into a stance as if to say "I am ready to do something!" while Valentine sold it by standing there, backing away, being defensive. When Valentine let his guard down, Steamboat would do some striking kicks. I really liked the "striking kicks" Steamboat did throughout the match, as well as the usual chops and such.
