Universal Constants in Good Wrestling Matches
DrVenkman PhD commented on World's Worst Man's blog entry in World's Worst Blog
Superb, GQ. I know you've noted you can be lazy when it comes to articles (and I am too, which is why I more or less dropped off the main site in 2003) but this is the sort of thing that could be a published article on the main site (assuming that whole thing takes off and works out). -
On some discs and/or players, it is possible to hit "stop" during the PSA then hit a button for the DVD's main menu. I've had this work with some WWE DVDs, but other times after doing that shortcut, selecting the Play option goes back to the PSA.

According to the DVD commentary on Volume 3 (btw, James Woods is absolutely hilarious for his commentary), Matt told Seth to just f the feud and admitted liking Family Guy. Seth also had nothing but good things to say about The Simpsons.

This is weird because the preview I read at 10am this morning had no mention of HBK at all, but this was psoted at 11am.

Wouldn't the red and blue on Burchill's tights BE UK imagry?

I don't agree with it but that was his reasoning.

I had never seen World War 3 1995 until today and though I recall hearing about Hogan burning a newsletter on PPV, I didn't realize it was that one. That was such a bizarre thing to see in a pre-Russo WCW - Hogan saying "this thing says The Giant is winning" and then throwing it in a fire. Anyway, my questions are: 1. Was there some report in the Observer (or Torch) that Savage was injured at this time? That seemed to be the context Hogan brought the newsletter up in before talking about The Giant. If so, was Savage winning the title some sort of big "screw you" to Meltzer (or whoever)?. 2. Hogan was dressed in black and talked about going to the dark side, then burned the black clothes and said that would never happen. What the hell was this about?

Vince pulled them because he wants do to an Eddie show of his own (tha twas the next line in the story which Duke the Dumpster nicely left out).

As stated in the Daniels/Angle argument in another thread, ring attire is a key factor in Angle being better. Perhaps if Angle upgrades his attire once more, he'll be the greatest ever.

Also, Gwen Stefani singing about wanting to be a rich girl when she probably is already quite rich was quite annoying, especially since she goes on to say her idea of being rich is to have all the world's money (my interpretation of the song, anyway).

I can't wait for Fromage 2005. Oh and I'm sure any song by "My Chemical Romance" is terrible. I can't say I am familiar with them at all but I hate their name and their buzz seems to revolve around teenagers on Much saying the singer is hot. Ugh.

I always felt - and especially more so after the PS1 re-release added animated cutscenes - that Chrono Trigger could have a good OVA and perhaps even it's own series.

Look. Anyone remember the AOL page? Back in 96 when my some friends of mine first went online, they did so through free AOL trials (and boy were we stupid kids when it came to "free" trials from AOL and Prodigy) and I remember doing the Keyword WWF thing. They used to have a section to download theme music .wav files and pictures of Sunny, which was pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure the Savage thing is a falsity that picked up momentum when someone with the initials S.K. reported it as fact in a rant or something. I think. Don't quote me on that.

In fairness to The Ringer, it does have Katherine Heigl. I don't see myself seing either film though, but I am happy to hear that you find Dick and Jane funny. Perhaps I will see it sometime down the line.

DrVenkman PhD replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Television & Film
The updated story - http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4735 - notes it's selling at $28 on Amazon pre-order. Consider it pre-ordered! -
NewsRadio Season 3 DVD release date
DrVenkman PhD replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Television & Film
The Arcade involved Maura hanging out in a high school and smoking right? Good stuff. I always worried that maybe Seasons 1&2 were just released because they took time to record commentaries (it seemed to exist without a release date for awhile on Amazon) and there would not be follow up seasons. This pleases me quite a bit. -
Fairly certain one is in development.

The Spirit Squad (Ken Doane) - Coming to RAW?
DrVenkman PhD replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
2006 seems like a very timely year to base a character off of a SNL skit that began in 1996. Maybe they can give someone a Steve Urkel gimmick while they're copying TV character gimmicks at the height of their popularity. -
I'm glad this thread exists because inbetween Seth's religious rantings that I'm getting so tired of I forgot that there were some jokes on FG that I liked. American Dad (or as The Simpons refered to it, the "Plageriser of the Plageriser") soundly beat it this week though.

Just wondering, did Double Dragon The Movie have a cliffhanger ending? I ask because it seems to me that SMB, Street Fighter, and the first MK all ended promising a sequel. Of course, only MK got the sequel and it arguably turned out to be the worst video game movie of the 90s (though I have not seen all of Double Dragon, which I understand might be worse).

I can't really say anything bad since SKeith briefly had me writing on a site that people went to to read, not use a forum, and thus received e-mail and feedback and such. Really, I only find him good in small doses, and those doses are generally unrelated to match reviews. While I think my "review" of his second book in I think my first or second article here was positive, that was me selling out for a link in a Raw rant because the book was pretty poor, especially in light of real high quality books that come out these days (ex. Death of WCW). I also find spman and GQ's comments to be right on the money.

Tim White probably wishes there wasn't a PPV.
