Interesting that in the Homerpalooza episode, Matt Groening mentions sitting next to Billy Corrigan at a WrestleMania and not recognizing him. He called it "World Wrestling Federation", though.
-
Well, the actual quote was JBL had mentioned telling Eddie Guerrero that he was "Wasting his time with that retard" but Eddie kept trying. The retard wasn't named but Meltz assumed it was Juvi.

Once when I was Angle and had a stored finisher I was prompted to press L1 when I blocked a kick. I didn't notice it immediatley so I didn't do it, but that leads me to believe it can be done.

Did you totally rip that off from GameFAQs or is that a coincidence? (I noticed earlier they had a htread with that title and also used the 20XX joke, but I did not read all the events).

Speaking of things that aren't shocking, when I checked EB's website to see if MMX Collection actually came out this week as previously scheduled, I naturally saw a release date that I had not seen before (now January 2006). Is this going to happen every month? I am beginning to think this game is heading down the GBA collections path of endless new dates without ever actually coming out (last I read for that game was February 06).

I too found it odd that this story has vanished from WWE.com. Did they change their minds again?

Yes, a block in the colours of the Famicom that opens up with a random miniature for the "Nintendo History Collection". Perhaps I should take a picture? http://img444.imageshack.us/my.php?image=n...ndoblock1ma.jpg - out of focus image of the box. http://img444.imageshack.us/my.php?image=rob0tt.jpg - R.O.B. and his assorted junk

I apologize... I don't know why I thought that. Did you attend the show though? Oh, there was this really (and I mean REALLY) annoying lady in the "lobby" of basketball city asking everyone if they were a wrestler. When Samoa Joe walked by and said "Hey everyone how ya doin?" she asked "who the hell was that?".

I have just returned home from a trip to NYC and I must say the Nintendo World store (formerly a Pokemon Center) is very neat, especially the mini-museum on the 2nd floor. I also bought a block with a random miniature in it... I ended up with ROB. It has all these small parts that may or may not require me to do something, but the instruction pamphlet is Japanese so I just left them lying next to ROB with his 3 famicom carts as part of the "display".

I was at the show and Abyss seemed very over. Fun show overall. It was neat to be in a New York wrestling crowd and see Vladimir the superfan and Green Lantern Fan (who apparently is not well liked) wandering around and I assume this one guy wearing a Yankee's cap I saw was Bob Barron. I was marking out before the show even started with that sort of non-wrestling star power! Jack Evans is also insane.

Also, though I initally thought it was in poor taste... I don't think anyone ever will have a cooler entrance then exiting a burning casket.

I had a great time live... our section popped big for Boogeyman (which was kinda cool, I guess).

Hart Foundation vs America.

I wonder if Shantelle Taylor is the Shantelle that has been working BCW shows this year. I enjoyed her work. Edit: Quick research says "probably" (I found a picture on some website called "Ladysports" (first google result) of someone wearing a small pink outfit, which is what she wore in BCW).

I'm still assuming MNM vs. Mexicools will happen, whether as a late PPV addition or for the PPV channel / WWE.com Heat.

Shouldn't he be selling homes as Robert Rechsteiner or something along those lines? How can I trust this man to sell me a home if he's not even using his proper name?
-
Will this be renamed the OAO Series thread? Because I've posted in here but I AM feeling Survivor Series (probably only because I'm going though).

Local New Year's Revolution Ad (Spoilers)

Yes, and only four of them are dual brand. Well, 5 if you count the ECW PPV, but that's something totally different. -

An Elimination Chamber match... for #1 contendership... NOT a title... at a future PPV... that SAME MONTH. Well played cabbageboy. -
I was wanting to have my friend and I start dueling "Let's go Raw" "Let's go SmackDown" chants but he wasn't up for it. I said one of us should cheer one, then the other the opposite, but all he said was "or we both cheer one and hope someone else picks up the opposite". After some discussion during Raw, we also concluded Raw were the heels even though HBK was their captain and JBL is the captain (if Batista is out of the match) for SmackDown. On paper, it has the potential to create an interesting heel/face dichotomy, but often that sort of ambiguity results in confused reactions / silence. We shall see.

I'm going out be out of town until next Tuesday so I guess I'll have to make a roster decision based on people that I assume will appear.

Unless I am mistaken (and there is a good chance I am), the MEB is essentially Giant "Prince A-Train" Bernard's Baldobomb finisher. Is that in the game somewhere? Also, and again correct me if I am wrong, this is the first PS2 SmackDown to not use the 6 Man HIAC match for the Armageddon PPV in season mode. Hell, I don't even think there is an Armageddon PPV in season.
-
The first time I played I did SmackDown (Eddie) and got both the Legends Tour and the ECW storyline - one after another, actually. The key to the Legends Tour, as near I can tell, is to be someone that has a story arc about them. Since the game uses audio instead of text, the only out it seems to have for those arcs is to replace them with the Legends Tour. Speaking of which, I marked out when I heard Jimmy Hart doing some voice overs for the Legneds angle... then once more when he does his non-legends storyline.

That episode was gold. The IT Guy thing was awesome, Dwight is always good, and then Michael shooting everyone was really, really funny. The end of the episode did make him a bit too pathetic though, but I was really happy with the hour of TV I taped and watched after work last night.
