I won't say "no" because for all I know it might be possible, but the lockers exist for wrestlers with alternate attires (Kane without unlocking anything, and I believe only Carlito, Cena, HHH, and JBL after unlocks) to switch outfits during season mode.

I found GM Mode a lot more fun when I went to a friend's house and played it last night.

You can try and book people that are losing against lower card guys, too.

I saw a headline on Yahoo! saying a gamer was going pro somehow. I assume this person is AndrewTS. How is that working for you?

When I say "knocked out", I mean that state where the opponent is animated differently when they are on the mat.. you know, flat on their back, not moving, will probably be down for a 3 count if you pin them. I didn't feel like going into that detail so I jsut said "knocked out". I thought Start was the button that brought up the ability to draft legends in GM mode (if pressed on the Roster page, of course).

I didn't understand what PBJT was so I just laughed at the idea of a talking dog singing in a banana costume. I thought the episode was great outside of the terrible song that Herbert sang. Doc Brown and the racist crows were big laughs for me. American Dad was ok. I didn't initally like the show at first, then I came around to thinking it was decent. I think I set the bar too high when the episode where PAtrick Stewart's character was dating Hayley aired because after that I thought AD was becoming better than Family Guy. It hasn't lived up to that episode since.

The trick is to knock them out before doing the move. Yeah, in past games you could do it whenever, but I find if I go for the frogsplash after waiting for my opponent to be right out, I always hit it. Does anyone play with the stamina bars on? I assumed it would be a nuissance and shut it off without ever trying it. Much like not noticing that Start opened a seperate menu in GM Mode, I didn't notice until recently that pressing Start in the locker room lets you customize it. The Canadian flag hangs proudly now.

Smackdown Title situation updated
DrVenkman PhD replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Is there an Old Jake or someone to reaplce this walking disaster of a poster? -
I always (well, always since I was made aware of it) assumed the rush submission was due to Perfect's crippling back injury.

Classic Mr. Burns.

WWE.com's SmackDown preview makes note of a Batista/Orton street fight title match this week.

I haven't seen one commercial for this movie. I guess I don't watch TV as much as I used to.

I think my problem in GM mode is I'm booking like I would in EWR... basic shows with the idea of building to gimmick matches on PPV. Clearly I should just stop doing this since the other GM books gimmick matches left and right and the world title seems to change hands every other week. If it becomes too much of a chore to win, I think I'll just use the mode as a multi-player thing with a friend. It is certainly an interesting addition though and I don't fault it for what it is... I fault myself for sucking at it.

I am having difficulty doing a possum pin. The description makes it sound like you can hold circle and press either L@ or R2 in advance and see what your opponent does, but that doesn't seem to work. When I tried doing it like a normal counter (waiting for the attack) but holding O, I still failed... and I guessed right. Hassan went to grapple my head, I was holding circle and pressed R2. I lost my stored finisher, but did not counter the move or do a possum pin. Guess I need to keep trying.

I thought it was a bit weak that the opening of the game (until I played again it became the Raw opening) was just the opening of SmackDown, featuring people like MNM and LOD who aren't even in the game (well, Heidenreich is, but not LOD Heidenreich). Other than that (and the top rope finisher problem I had a few times with Eddie, noted by another poster using RVD) I've been enjoying myself in exhibition matches. Has anyone ran into an alleged glitch where the computer puts you into the sleeper hold and you can't break it, even if you do it right? Some people on GameFAQs are complaining about it being "broken" while other people are just accusing them of doing it wrong. Since I've never been put in a sleeper, I don't know. I've also yet to see the "ice skating" irish whip glitch. Also, can matches end in double DQs somehow? I was doing a 6 man tornado tag and after a long period of time of every fall being broken (and the ref being hit several times, by accident) the bell just rang and it said "DQ" on the screen. No winner was declared.

Well I was referring to the "Nick Dinsmore" part, not just Dinsmore.

WWE.com breaking name kayfabe... this is interesting indeed.

I played from the time I got home from EB until I had to leave for work and I was pretty into it. I only did a month in season and a month in GM (GM first, actually) because I ended up spending a lot of time messing around in exhibition matches. That is so awesome that one of Hogan's moves is preparing to no-sell something, then Hulk up. I noticed some pretty nice animations as well (delayed selling, but I forget which move, and Flair doing the flop after I beat him up... though that might have been a well timed AI taunt, assuming that is still a taunt of his). I was susprised that CWs like Hurricane, Chavo, and Daivari were usable in season mode. When the announcement that some of the lower card guys weren't in, I assumed they were out for sure. I thought I heard someone say Regal wasn't in Season but I could have selected him if I wanted to so.. I don't know. Seems like the biggest non-fired guy left out of Season's playable characters was Eugene, probably because he would not have fit the storylines since your character talks now... ... which brings me to how much better the voice acting is this year. Like I said, I only played a month of the story (I actually didn't even do the PPV match yet) and it was good. It is great that your character talks.

I am beginning to think the person I spoke with at EB was a moron... I wish I had realized this before I left the store but in general I hate complaining and making a scene, and I had someone outside the mall waiting to drive me back home. When I called EB at 5:30 tonight and asked if my game was in and mentioned that I was told in the morning I had to wait to call back tonight, the employee on the phone sounded confused and asked my name. I told him, and he said "yes your copy is here". It was at that point I realized that the pre-orders are labeled with people's name and number... when I was called YESTERDAY, that should have meant that MY copy of the game I paid for already was in. I just took the idiot that worked this morning at face value when he said they were waiting for a second shipment, thinking at the time they must just hand out the pre-orders on a first come first serve basis, totally forgetting that they do label each one with a recipet with your name on it. I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt that maybe he didn't hear me say I was picking up a PRE-ORDER copy of SmackDown vs Raw... or maybe he just didn't know where they kept them. I know the manager that was there this morning is new (his first day was Monday, when I was there to do the pre-order) and I had never seen the employee who told me and another woman that we had to wait until later today (and at that, not even guaranteed). Still, I'm more than a little pissed that I got told my game wasn't in when it really was, robbing me of a day of play since I'm now at work and won't be able to go back to the store until tomorrow morning.

What is the file size? The memory card discussion in the CTDWAT made me realize I'm not playing with much space left (though some stuff could be deleted). I remember JBI's god-awful 4MB+ save size... that was a pain, both in terms of taking up card space and the time it took to save / load games.
-
The worst save file ever (from what I've seen) was the first PS2 SD! game (Just Bring It, I believe). It took up 4MB of space and took FOREVER to save over / load up. Thankfully they have drastically reduced that.

Well considering last year's official "all things Mortal Kombat" thread was called "First screen shot of Deception" (I THINK it eventually got changed) and I believe the first SvR thread was also not a OAO, but something that started as news... it's just how we roll at TSM, I guess.

Well this is super... EB calls me yesterday to say the game is in. Unfortunatley they called at 11:10 am and I had to work a 12 hour shift (noon - midnight) so I had to wait until this morning to go. When I arrived, I (along with some other lady) was told they don't have any in stock at the moment but should by 5pm tonight... but no guarantee. *shakes fist at EB*
