    24/7 Online November Line-up

This month WWE 24/7 Online features a wide array of classic moments in wrestling history, such as Jake "The Snake" Roberts on the Barber Shop, Paul Orndorff on the Flower Shop, and of course the infamous Piper's Pit featuring Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. Also, you won't want to miss classic matches involving Sgt. Slaughter, Dusty Rhodes, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Ric Flair, Sting, Randy "Macho Man" Savage, just to name a few. All this and more! WCW Starrcade - Dusty Rhodes vs. Lex Luger November 26, 1987 | Approx. run time: 22 mins. Starrcade was WCW's biggest event of the year, and in this one Lex Luger put his United States Championship on the line against Dusty Rhodes in a Steel Cage Match. Luger was a part of the Four Horsemen at the time and had J.J. Dillon in his corner. Would Dillon give Luger the edge he needed to defeat Dusty? WWE Survivor Series - The Perfect Team vs. The Ultimate Warriors November 22, 1990 | Approx. run time: 20 mins. This is a classic Survivor Series-style elimination match pitting Ultimate Warrior, The Texas Tornado & L.O.D against Mr. Perfect and all three members of Demolition. Could the strength of The Warriors overcome their opponents' self-proclaimed perfection? WWE Survivor Series - The All-Americans vs. The Foreign Fanatics November 24, 1993 | Approx. run time: 40 mins. This one was about more than wins and losses. National pride was on the line in this one as Lex Luger, The Steiners and Undertaker fought for the honor of America against The Foreign Fanatics. Yokozuna, Ludvig Borga, Jacques Rougeau and Crush all shared disdain for the U.S., but would that disdain translate into a victory? WWE Survivor Series - Bob Backlund vs. Bret Hart November 23, 1994 | Approx. run time: 41 mins. Bret "Hit Man" Hart was called the Excellence of Execution, but Bob Backlund was one of the few Superstars that could go hold for hold with the Hit Man. Hart had the Sharpshooter and Backlund had the Chicken Wing. Which maneuver would lead to a victory in this Submission Match? WWE Wrestling Challenge - Jake Roberts on The Barber Shop December 28, 1991 | Approx. run time: 3 mins. Jake "The Snake" Roberts was a guest on The Barber Shop. He was there to discuss his very personal rivalry with "Macho Man" Randy Savage. This rivalry was jump-started when Jake, along with Undertaker, crashed Savage's and Elizabeth's wedding at SummerSlam and gave them a cobra as a wedding present. WWE Royal Rumble - Roddy Piper vs. The Mountie January 19, 1992 | Approx. run time: 12 mins. The Mountie shocked the world when he defeated a sick Bret "Hit Man" Hart for the Intercontinental Championship, but he needed his shock stick to get the job done. Roddy Piper took this match on behalf of the Hit Man and tried to avenge Bret's loss by winning his first piece of WWE gold. Would The Mountie have to pay the Piper? WWE - Piper's Pit with Jimmy Snuka June 26, 1984 | Approx. run time: 4 mins. This is widely considered as the most memorable Piper's Pit ever. In this edition, the Rowdy one insults WWE Hall of Famer "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka and adds insult to injury when he smashes a coconut over his head. WCW Nitro - Scott Hall vs. Bret Hart vs. Goldberg vs. Sid November 8, 1999 | Approx. run time: 6 mins. The United States Championship was on the line in a Texas Tornado Ladder Match on this wild edition of Nitro. Scott Hall was the Champion and his buddy Kevin Nash was named the special guest referee. Would his fellow Outsider help lead him to victory? WWE Championship Wrestling - Paul Orndorff on The Flower Shop July 26, 1986 | Approx. run time: 2 mins. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff used to be a revered crowd favorite, but after he turned on one-time friend Hulk Hogan, he became a hated villain. Shortly after turning his back on the fans, Orndorff appeared on the Flower Shop mocking The Hulkster. You won't want to miss this classic segment. WCW SuperBrawl - The Steiners vs. Lex Luger & Sting May 19, 1991 | Approx. run time: 11 mins. The Steiner Brothers, Lex Luger and Sting were all friends at the time, but Luger and Sting thought they were worthy of a shot at the WCW Tag Team Championship so they asked for a match. The Steiners, being the fighting champions that they were, granted them the shot and the result was a tag team classic. Nikita Koloff got involved in the action as well, but what result would his presence cause? WWE Tuesday in Texas - Jake Roberts vs. Randy Savage December 3, 1991 | Approx. run time: 17 mins. This rivalry was about as personal as it could get. Jake "The Snake" Roberts crashed "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth's wedding and gave them a cobra as a wedding gift. After being attacked by a cobra in the ring as well, Savage came out of retirement to face Roberts. You won't want to miss this brutal grudge match Superstar Billy Graham vs. Dusty Rhodes August 24, 1977 | Approx. run time: 13 mins. Take a trip in the Way Back Machine and watch a WWE Hall of Famer take on a young Dusty Rhodes. Superstar Billy Graham was on a roll in 1977 and had defeated the likes of Chief Jay Strongbow, Gorilla Monsoon, Ivan Putski, Bob Backlund and was the WWE Champion after dethroning Bruno Sammartino. Could Superstar add Dusty Rhodes to his list of victims? WWE WrestleMania VII - Sgt. Slaughter vs. Hulk Hogan March 24, 1991 | Approx. run time: 28 mins. Sgt. Slaughter is often remembered as a huge crowd favorite. But during this time there was no man hated more than the Sarge. He was an Iraqi sympathizer during this time and had turned his back on his country. He had defeated Ultimate Warrior for the WWE Championship and put the gold on the line at WrestleMania VII against Hulk Hogan. Could the "Real American" defeat the turncoat and become WWE Champion once again? WWE - Ric Flair vs. Bret Hart October 12, 1992 | Approx. run time: 27 mins. Most people know about this famous match that took place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, but not many have actually seen it. Now is your chance to witness Bret Hart become WWE Champion for the first time when he upset the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair in his home country of Canada at a live event. WCW Nitro - Syxx vs. Rey Mysterio April 21, 1997 | Approx. run time: 9 mins. The action is incredibly fast-paced in this Cruiserweight classic. Known by WWE fans as X-Pac, Syxx took on Rey Mysterio. Syxx was the Cruiserweight Champion and had the nWo by his side. Could Mysterio pull off the upset and become Champion? WWE RAW - Billionaire Ted Segment February 19, 1996 | Approx. run time: 4 mins. This segment was smack in the middle of the Monday Night Wars. This was a spoof on WCW owner Ted Turner, and showed how deep the hatred ran between WWE and WCW during this time WCW Nitro - Rick Steiner meets Chucky November 12, 1998 | Approx. run time: 4 mins. WCW had its share of bizarre moments over the years, but perhaps no segment was more bizarre than when Rick Steiner was confronted by horror movie icon Chuckie from Child's Play. This segment has to be seen to be believed. WWE RAW - Shawn Michaels vs. Max Moon January 11, 1993 | Approx. run time: 9 mins. Max Moon was a very colorful high-flier that was around for a brief time in the early 1990s. Shawn Michaels took on this mysterious character in a match from the first ever RAW. NWA Clash of the Champions - Sting vs. Mike Rotundo April 1, 1989 | Approx. run time: 16 mins. This was a classic technical wrestling match-up and the Television Championship was on the line. Could Mike Rotundo, better known by WWE fans as I.R.S., walk away with the gold? Or would the Stinger leave as Champion? WCW Uncensored - Hogan & Savage vs. Flair, Arn Anderson, Taskmaster, Faces of Fear, Luger, Z-Gangsta & Ultimate Solution March 24, 1996 | Approx. run time: 27 mins. This will certainly go down as one of the most unique matches in WCW history. This took place in a four-level Steel Cage. Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage had to take on eight men. They had to start at the top of the cage and work their way down until they got to the bottom level and score a pinfall. This is certainly one you won't want to miss.

The One and Only WWE 24/7 Thread

WWE 24/7 Online Freeloaders: Another password will be out next week for people who buy SvR 2006 from GameStop that is good until the end of 2005. I assume it will be the same deal as the Taboo Tuesday one where it will be one password that the whole world can use.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

My understanding of American holidays seems to be not correct... is Columbus Day not the holiday that occurs on the same date as Canadian thanksgiving (2nd Monday in October)?

The One and Only WWE 24/7 Thread

On Raw, Vince said JJ was F-I-R-R-E-D. Not sure about Nitro.

WWE Fantasy Season Five is available

Trish, who I had, also is listed as zero points (I believe when I checked someone else's roster, Conway was also listed as zero). It sounds like anyone that lost a match is listed as being a zero (but if you check the point breakdown, everything was scored... their week overall is just a zero). I e-mailed them about this. One thing that made me happy last night was that even though Benjamin lost, he lost to Carlito, who I picked. Then when I checked the scores, I realized that I THOUGHT about picking Carlito but went with Matt Hardy for an even 4-4 from each brand (Trish/Kane/Angle/Masters and Matt/Rey/Batista/Someone else I can't remember). I thought I did pretty good considering I had a small window to change my roster while out of town and didn't even know Angle/Masters were teaming in the main event. Edit: While checking the page to see who my fourth SD guy that I couldn't remember was (Bob Lashley), I noticed my score did go up by 14 points and rank was unlisted, so I guess they are now in the process of fixing everything.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I don't care if GamePro gave the game a sad man in a blue box or a guy with a static build up problem effecting his hair, they suck. They sucked a decade ago, they suck now, and they'll continue to suck until the game magazine business crumbles under the weight of the internet to the point only EGM remains (perhaps official company mags like NP, OPM, and the Xbox one as well).

The One and Only WWE 24/7 Thread

I was able to check out some 24/7 previews up at my friend's apartment in London, Ontaario. I don't have Rogers cable in my market so it's not an option, but they do up here. I watched the free 57 minute preview for the November 87 Houston house show.. that was a real "WTF" moment when Bruce Pritchard, Mike McGuric, and some guy I've never eard of (Earl of something, I believe) did commentary. There was a Hart Foundaion vs Bulldogs match in there... not sure if it's the same one that will end up being on Bret's DVD (I need to check that).

    Family Guy opening 11/6

That was a good episode no matter what year it is. I'm at a friend's house out of town and he got a phone call he had to take right at 9... I saw about 10 minutes of the episode with no volume (we watched it later on a midnight on a west coast feed) and he was wondering what was so damn funny that I was laughing non-stop without hearing a joke. The reason was the "Dick Van Dyke" FCC'd title screen. I'm laughing now just thinking about it. The other site gag of the night would have been the kid in Saudi Arabia wearing the "URKEL" shirt on American Dad. Also, off topic, the Simpsons segment where Mr. Burns killed everyone was good.

    ROH 11/4 Detroit Results

I wanted to go to this show, but a burtal combination of me forgetting when it was, having to work because I forgot when it was and didn't ask for the night off, not being totally sure where it was being held, and having no way to get there if I were to get directions kinda ruined the chance. What was the Detroit crowd like?

    Vince isn't happy with Coach

I think Styles will freshen things up and I look forward to hearing him... but offering announcers (him, Goldberg) large contracts while pissing off Benoit and Christian is pretty damn stupid.

The One and Only WWE 24/7 Thread

Ok, just to clarify, everyone knows that WWE 24/7 is a VOD cable channel with updated shows every month, while WWE 24/7 Online is a rebrnaded Jukebox, right? The WWETabooTuesday password applies to the Jukebox version, which has updated matches every month.

Okay, someone explain this to me...

The answer is that it simply slipped through. There are more than a few instances of this on 24/7 Online from what I recall. Scratch logo = not allowed WWF = not allowed Any other logo = allowed "World Wrestling Federation" = allowed

That Robocop marathon commercial was one of the funniest, most honest commercials I've ever seen. Kudos. And here comes the match I wanted to see!

I like "Revenge" being crossed out. I don't know why. That was really neat, thanks.

    Tajiri leaving WWE soon ?

Perhaps since he changed his mind about retiring to Japan to become a reporter, WWE can give him a reporter gimmick.

    Jake 'The Snake' Roberts DVD

I just found that image amusing. Pretty good feature... it was neat to hear Hugo talk as well. Didn't realize he was battling demons also.

    Wrestlemania Anthology

Re: Possible tape error for WM IX. I know the copy I have with the Collection does this really weird jump when Beefcake and IRS are crawling to make a tag... it just jumps instantly to Hogan being in the ring punching DiBiase. Something like that, anyway. Is this what you think you may have noticed?

    24/7 Online November Line-up

Actually Undertaker was a replacement for an injured (perhaps worked) Tatanka. Undertaker displayed his patriotic nature when it was announced he was the new member of the team by having the stars and stripes inside his trenchcoat. It was a very moving episode of SUperstars... I guess, I'm Canadian. I was going for the Quebeccers.

The first two are Co-brand PPVs but I agree with Backlash 2004 / Vengeance 2005 priase.

    Wrestlemania Anthology

My problem is more the issue of my VHS tapes being in fine, unedited, original PPV airing release condition. No Coliseum extras or edits, no WWE home video music edits. I'd be paying for something I already own and though I love WrestleMania's in the grand scheme of things, a lot of those shows aren't worth owning two copies of - DVD quality or not. This won't stop me from buying the set if I ever see it cheap though.

    The OAO Taboo Tuesday Thread

Since this somehow turned into a 24/7 Online discussion thread, I suggest watching Brian Christopher vs Tijari from the October matches. It has a hilarious line form lawler about Judo and Vince and JR rip on Hogan movies (No Holds Barred, no profits required).

Joey Styles is at Taboo Tuesday

Well this is a Joey Styles thread to nuts to you, Slickster! I recall hearing that there was some consideration to bring in Styles when Goldberg (who, by the way, was going to be renamed if he signed) turned them down, but he "has too many enemies".
