I found this week kinda hard to pick... however with Kane's back injury I removed him (and the title win points I thought he and show would be getting) amd Sharmell (who was taking u pa spare $1M) and replaced them with Lashley (Handicap match points from SmackDown this coming week) and Cade (might retain now). I also assume Austin is going to win so I spent the big $5M on him since it would be a specialty match. Flair/HHH I wasn't sure so I bought Flair, I also have Rey and Cena. I may or may not have kept Angle... I think I dropped him. I also have Conway as I assume he is winning but maybe not.

So should I take credit for the false news reports of a tape collection being aquired? I think I will!
-
My guess: USWA tapes (I do not recall who owns them but I thought I heard it was the Jarretts).

Any extras and such? I have fond memories of Operation Wolf from playing it at the big arcade on main street in Sauble Beach Ontario when I was a kid but I can't imagine a home version being anywhere near as cool. Bubble Bobble is cool though... I've spent a good chunk of money over the past 3 months with some pre-purchased spending coming up in November so I might just hold on to my money for now but I'm a mark for comps (that don't totally suck) so I'll probably get this in the future.

The Juniors thing was interesting... they had this match graphic come up (similar to what would pop up for a title match) with a goofy sound effect while Palmer Canon sounded clueless on commentary and Tazz and Cole made jokes. They even left in the boring chants. Something is certainly up with this thing. Also, Teddy Long's reactions to the Boogeyman (who does appear) are priceless.

From http://www.prowrestlinggames.com/news.php?.../131768485.html Interview Questions Were Answered By: Bryan Williams, Designer, WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2006 Before we get started, I have to ask what the atmosphere surrounding THQ and the Yukes is like with the release nearing of the most successful wrestling series, Smackdown vs. Raw 2006? Pure excitement! All of us here at THQ are extremely excited and eager to unleash WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2006 upon the gaming community. Personally, I think WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2006 is far and away the best game in the series and I am proud to have been a part of it. Q: Many are wondering with RAW having slightly changed its set, if the new set will be in the game. If so, will it be the default RAW arena or an unlockable? A: Unfortunately, the newly designed RAW set does not appear in the game. However, there are a couple of fan favorite unlockable arenas in the game that I’m sure fans of the WWE will appreciate and enjoy. Q: Rumors are floating around about there being a feature called “GM Mode,” so I have got to ask, is this indeed true? A: GM mode? Huh. This is the first I’ve heard of such a mode. Sounds rather interesting, though. Q: We were told in our first interview about a feature called “Fulfill Your Fantasy.” Can you give us some insight about this feature? A: The new Fulfill Your Fantasy match is a Divas only match and builds upon the concept of the Bra and Panty match. The objective of the match is to completely fill the Fantasy meter of your selected Diva before your opponent is able to do so. Choosing from three scantily clad outfits and armed with fluffy loveseat pillows, players must spank and disrobe their opponents in order to fill up their Fantasy meter and secure the victory. : Can you give us some details on the Create-An-Entrance feature? Just how customizable is it? A: There are two customizable option types for Create-An-Entrance: Easy Creation and Advanced Creation. Easy Creation, like its name implies, is an easy way for players to quickly create entrances for their Superstars and provides the user with three customizable entrance options for their particular Superstars: Motion, Movie and Music. Advanced Creation is where players can really go wild and flex their creative muscles. The Advanced Creation option is extremely in-depth and features a robust amount of customizable options and features. Players can customize or edit a Superstar’s entrance beginning with behavior on stage and leading all the way down to in-ring actions. Q: In our previous interview, it was said that you can only compete for the Heavyweight Championship and WWE Championship in the season mode, why is this? Many people are unhappy about this as it was said on IGN that it was your goal to capture “all” belts. A: While it’s true that players will only be competing for the World Heavyweight and WWE Championship belts during Season Mode, WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2006 will also feature an Exhibition Title Match mode. In this mode, players can defend and compete for the World Heavyweight, WWE, WWE Tag Team, World Tag Team, Intercontinental, United States, Cruiserweight, Women’s and two other prestigious Championships, which I’m unable to reveal at this moment. Custom made created single and Tag Team Championships, created in the Create A Championship mode, can also be competed for and defended against in Title matches. Q: Again, in our previous interview, it was said that both Raw and Smackdown would have their own separate season to play through. Does that mean an actual 2 years for each show totaling 4 total years of storylines or is it 1 year a piece for each show? A: Season Mode in this year’s game will consist of a full season of SmackDown programming and one full season of RAW. Q: Question From GTAKing: Will elbow and kneepads, boots, and small details like earrings and body hair be 3D or painted on in this game? A: Clothing and accessories such as boots, elbow and kneepads will in fact be 3D. However, smaller accoutrements such as earrings and jewelry will remain in 2D. Q: Question from GTAKing: How in-depth are character storylines? Say like Undertaker, will his story be a more dark, mysterious, and gothic type story? A: We’ve done our best to ensure that storylines in this year’s game authentically depict each Superstar in a manner that is consistent and authentic with their televised persona. Q: Question From Shinkuex: “Ok when I saw the videos, I saw that you get little flash messages on when to reverse a move. Is there an option to turn those off for those who would rather guess the timing instead of seeing it flash on the screen?” A: Of course! We implemented the Reversal Help indicators this year as a way to acclimate gamers who may be new to the SmackDown series. For fans of the series who are familiar with our reversal system or those gamers simply looking for more of a challenge, the help indicators can easily be turned ON and OFF from the In Game Options menu. Q: Question From Shinkuex: “My second question is I noticed on IGN’s countdown, some heavyweights speed stats were at 7.5, are the attributes different this year for heavyweights? Like can heavyweights now have 10 in strength instead of 9 like last year?” A: Yes. Certain WWE heavyweights will have a 10-attribute point level, and created Superstars in the heavyweight weight class will be able to attain a 10-point strength level as well. I thought that was the interview I read about the All Legends question, but maybe it was the 2nd IGN one. Some good notes in there I was not aware of regarding season mode.

THQ's answer to that question (All Legedns game, something I've been thinking about for awhile too) on some other Q&A site was "We would love that too but are not open to discussion of future developments" or something similar.

That funeral was awesome. That makes sense, thank you for clearing it up. I naturally assumed he was refering to the PPV and did not understand.

Just to add confirmation, yes, the Collection (1-13) are full PPV broadcasts. If something was a CHV exclusive, it's not on. Likewise, if something was cut from CHV, it's there. This is why WrestleMania V is almost 4 hours long (the longest WM until 2004) and actually is probably over 4 hours since intermission is removed from the tape, yet for years most people thought it was WM IV that was the longest. I had heard from someone on IRC (I think) way back in the day that The Legacy (WM 1 - XIV, scratch logo box) was the cut versions but I do not know if this is true or not. Anyway, here's something that I found odd: I started watching wrestling in 1991 and the Orient Express was Tanaka and Kato. When I watched PPVs from the 90s, I saw it was Saito and Tanaka. I thought Kato replaced Saito (or Sato) in 1991 or so and that was it. However, upon watching the SummerSlam Spectacular from 1991, I was surprised to see Steamboat/Tornado/Bulldog face all 3 members of the OE. Where the heck was Saito between Survivor Series 90 and that broadcast, and was he ever seen after that? I just read on OWW that Sato was Shinja (Hakushi's manager) as well. Didn't know that.

Is there a fake Smackdown spoilers link around? Or is this thread a Ghostbusters reference?
-
Does the shennanigans sign refer to the Jake/PSP debacle? Because that was my line earlier.

Well it was pretty clear to me last week the juniors thing is aruse by Palmer Canon working through Bischoff but I guess that doesn't excuse wasting TV time with it. Hooray for MNM... I wish I had some guts in Fantasy in picked both members of MNM and not one LOD member and one MNM member. I also thought Ortons were due for a win over Guerrero/Batista, but I guess not... so I wish I hadn't picked both Ortons for Fantays and none of the faces. Jillian and Stacy not having their match on the main show screwed me out of points too, but in terms of television, that's great. I originally misunderstood what the spoilers (which if the show happened in Frisco I guess was were written by Meltzer, I don't see a name attatched to them) meant by "Vader mask" and pictures Jillian wrestling in a large mastadon helmet. I then remembered the other mask he wore. 5-way match should be interesting.

Hmm.. I never even thought about the displaced SD! taping for next week. That's kinda weird though, taping a show before a PPV when it will be airing after it, as you'd think the SmackDown! guys would discuss whatever happens at the PPV. This makes me assume they'll win because otherwise they would complain about losing, while winning they can just say nothing and have the announcer talk about it in voice over. Also, until everyone gets points for SmackDown (though I should too), I'm in first in the league. Hooray!

I have nothing else to do between watching King of Queens at 8 and Raw at 9 so I decided to just keep it on CBS and watch this. It's pretty funny but because I watched it and enjoyed it, I suspect it will be cancelled. Any show that is does good ratings these days doesn't interest me at all, and for the past several years any show I ever started to watch (without watching it in syndication first, after it suceeded) died quickly (the first time this happened is when I started to watch NewsRadio in the fourth season, if that counts... the last time was Wonderfalls). However, My Name is Earl seems to be doing well so perhaps it's safe for me to watch new TV shows without worrying about devoting myself to a show that won't exist in a season.

Due to Taboo Tuesday (though I can't figure out the logic in this, but whatever) rosters for week four need to be locked in by Noon (eastern) on Sunday.

The trailer said 18 matches which is the amount of previously confirmed matches, so that is that. However there may be promos and stuff like that... the trailer said 10 hours, which is a blatant lie, as even WWE.com's own product description jsut says "over 7 hours". Meltz timed everything at being 6h40m (or in that area) with the 2.5 hour feature taking up Disc 1 on it's own, persumably. 6.5 hours is ually god enough for WWE.com to say "Over 7 hours", so like it nor not (and I'm on the "like" side of it), the line-up is the line-up.

The RAW Preview says it will be HBK vs Big Show vs Kane. If that helps you <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is in reference to last Monday.
-
I read that Ventura wasn't even on the Hogan/Warrior match on the Warrior DVD, so I assume he won't be on this.
-
I changed my roster a few times today but for some reason decided to make some budget women picks. I know Stacy has a match on SmackDown! so I picked her, then because anyone that cost $2.5M will probably only appear on the no longer point worthy B-shows, I picked Mickie James and Candice. Also picked The Ortons, HBK, Angle, Edge, Heidenreich, and either Mercury or Nitro, I don't recall. I'll see how this pans out.

It is speculated that Nintendo Pennant Chase was cancelled after it's indefinite delay. That kinda bummed me out because although I haven't really played (or at least been in to) a baseball game since Ken Griffey (the original, not the Winning Run stuff) for the SNES, I really wanted to create a stadium.

Well Kane just scored like 1,000 points for me, so I should do OK. It was too bad Kurt didn't have a match, but 7 points is 7 points (I think.. 2 appearance + 1 finisher). Edge lost but still had 3 appearances, 2 matches, finisher, last match, and specialty match points, so that should work out. I assume Edge was in BR, anyway. I thought I saw him when it started but he was gone after the commercial. My other Raw guy was HBK and he won his match with a finisher (not sure what Fantasy's ruling on kicking a foriegn object into your opponent is... hopefully it counts for points). For SmackDown, hopefully more appearance points for Edge and a win for Randy Orton. I took the cowards way out for the Benoit/Booker match and picked them both, so some guaranteed points there. Should end up being a good week for me.
