Rene Dupree becomes the second

Going back to the above mentioned note about Zelda's never again mentioned jerk brother from Zelda II, would the never mentioned again Agahnim from Zelda III be considered an ancenstor / decendant / based on (however it works for all the Zelda games taking place parallel to each other's storylines) the simply named "Evil Wizard" from Zelda II?
-
The never again mentioned Prince of Hyrule (Zelda's brother) is a jerk. "Prince of Hyrule- The Prince of Hyrule was always a spoiled, and bad-tempered person. He had always dreamt of being king, so when his father died, he was overjoyed. He than talked to Zelda about the whereabouts of the Triforce. She refused to tell, and was beatn and tortured, even put into an eternal sleep by an Evil Wizard hired hy the prince. When the prince realized the horrid acts he had done, he vowed that all of the daughters of the royal family be named after Zelda."

Said awesome NES Classics thread http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...1&st=&p=entry Good times

I pimped this site like a year ago (around the time of that awesome thread about NES Classic games). It used to be way different though... it's since become part of a network and had a massive redesign. The problem with that is for some reason many commercials now have incorrect countries of origin given to them (the above Juiced commercial is a good example... I'm 99.9% certain THAT isn't from US TV) and searching for a specific console also doesn't work (a lot of NES commercials are branded NES and vice versa). Hopefully that all gets fixed over time. Edit: Well not quite a year ago... http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...1&st=&p=entry

This is all great fodder for another excellent blog entry on Striaght Shootin

John Erwin, people! Sure, He-Man appearing wasn't a joke, but using original VA's is always cool for a random cameo of insanity, even with the lack of an actual punchline. Also Chris' "I'm in no mood!" to the monkey was pretty good.

The statement was true (as in "assumed by Meltzer") in May as he certainly would have done the legdrop against the "Kuwaiti-Americans" (his name for them on the Backlash DVD) if he was able to.

I knew you two would cross paths down the line and it was as good an encounter as I suspected.

False!
-
True. I intended (but forgot) to indicate that it was very likely for the feuds to end in big matches at the conclusion of the house show tour but with Warrior and Nailz it was not possible. Guess I'm just one of those dumbass idiots who shouldn't be posting because I don't know 100% what I'm talking about.

Before the advent of 12 PPVs, where something could be built on TV and then paid off in a match on PPV, Undertaker just seemed to run angles with people that never blew off on TV. This also happened with Ultimate Warrior, Nailz, Berzerker, and Mr. Hughes just to name a few. I could be wrong but I believe there were a few reasons for this: 1. In the case of Mr. Hughes, it was an angle basically killing time between WrestleMania IX and SUmmerSlam 93 for the Giant Gonzalez feud to end. 2. House shows were the business at this time. You do an angle for Warrior/Taker on TV, you tour them around North America in bodybag matches for a year. The Berzerker thing, I assume, also led to a series of house show matches.

As usual you make very good points that I enjoy reading despite my blind fandom to both Angle and the WWE. That's what's great about you!

This match is being advertised everywhere. It is a dark match.

The Best of Survivor Series VHS actually has (in clipped form) Michael Cole and Kevin Kelly doing commentary for one of those big 20 man tag matches as if they are there as it's happening... akward.

I was going to add the Mode 7 NCAA Basketball game for the SNES (my cousins and I always rented it and enjoyed making shots from half court) but checking reviews on GameFAQs seem to indicate the game was well received at the time.

I recall the NHL games getting a bad rap on the SNES (especially the later years in the series) even if only compared to the better Genesis versions that I never played, but I always loved playing them for my SNES every year. It was a bit old by NHL 96, though.

Back in the day my friends and I enjoyed playing the absolutely terrible Batman Forever games (both the SNES/Genesis versions and the arcade version home game). On a similar note, I guess "Batman Forever" would be a bad movie that I love. The PS1 game Evil Zone (I believe that was the name) was panned as awful but the story mode was so well produced - each character was a 10 episode anime - and unique I loved playing through as every character.
-
I tend to love WWE games (SmackDown series) despite general concensus of them all being awful

TAP, that edition of Heat is not broadcast in the U.S. so it would not count.

I recommend reading HTQ's blog for a good, short and sweet summary of the ECW show. Then read my blog! Blogs!
