I don't know if this is the real commercial (seems like it) or one IGN made (since their logo is in the corner) or if it's even aired yet, but this is it http://reklamy.gry-online.pl/apr05/WWEWM21.wmv I hope this game is good... I bought an Xbox, XBL subscription (drvenkman21), and 100 feet of ethernet cable to go form my modem 2 floors up to my video game basement room all on the basis of wanting to play online against a group of people on IRC. IF it sucks, well, I'm sure the Xbox has other uses... I am enjoying KOTOR so far. Any word if custom themes will work online?

DOn't worry folks, he's ok.

I actually don't hate him but thought it was worth noting. Note I didn't use an anti-HHH subtitle like spman did in his (now closed) thread.

Xbox 2 to be revealed on May 12th...
DrVenkman PhD replied to Use Your Illusion's topic in Video Games
I equate it with Xenon: Girl from the 24th Century, not gas... though I'm not really familiar with the former and I'm probably wrong about the title... some stupid Melissa Joan Hart I didn't see on the Canadian Family Channel years ago... not important, the hting is I read Xenon for a while in magazines and thus referred to it as such when speaking with people. Xbox 360 is just too weird a name, especially for the 2nd system... it implies that it's A. Doing flips B. Gone full circle, thus ending up back where it started and offers no change at all C. Gone full circle in a different direction - in this case meaning is the total opposite of before. That would mean instead of a good, powerful system with a harddrive, we have a piece of garbage system with no harddrive. Only option A is attractive. Yeah, I'm being way to literal over the name, but that's DrVenkman for you. -

If it's actually called "Xbox 360" I don't want it. Xenon > * -
I couldn't stop laughing during that Smigel cartoon.. the HB music was superb.

1976's PG rated and kid friendly film "The Bad News Bears" (mentioned above by spman) Whatever happened to that remake idea?

I love Shawn jumping down the stiars at the Slammy's prior to WM13. THat's the sign of a serious knee injury. -

Quick question: How the hell was Bret going to pull off a face turn while still in Canada (Cornwall or Ottawa)? If he declared new found love for the US and A he would have been boo'd out of the building. -
John Cena to modify the WWE Championship
DrVenkman PhD replied to Taker666's topic in The WWE Folder
Question: If Cena is telling the wrestling traditionalists to kiss his ass in regards to his belt modding while JBL finds it terrible... and the majority of the people that wanted a title shot on SD! were face... are they doing a double turn? I'm assuming not, with the idea being that traidtion bites and all that jazz and Cena is the new stuff so hola hola lookat this bling... but still... -
Rhino is a villain in the Marvel universe and as I'm sure you're aware, WWE has had it's problems with Marvel. According to Joe Legend, when WWE was attempting to get around this issue, the best they thought of was "Mary". Joe told a very nervous Rhyno over the phone to just suggest changing the I to Y like they did with Chyna.

Just when I think I'm sick of all of this Meltz drags me back in. It will be interesting if the rumoured WWE DVD contains any information like this... hell, it could even reveal the architect that Meltz can't. It won't. But it could. -
1. In July of the 94, Bret Hart defeated Bob Backlund to retain his title on an episode of Superstars. Bob Backlund didn't take this loss very well and locked Bret in the chicken wing for a good length of time, thus turning heel and "snapping", becoming his crazy heel persona. This was put on the backburner as Bret vs Owen was the SummerSlam main event. SummerSlam saw the return of the British Bulldog and Owen lose. Meanwhile, Mr. Backlund was pretty pissed that he never lost his title and that it was his manager, Arnold Skaland, that threw in the towel. I believe Backlund attacked him on a Raw around this time, not sure. Backlund got his title match with Bret with the rules being "throw in the towel", Owen for Backlund (as Owen, fresh of his loss to Bret was still feuding with the family and supported Bob) and Bulldog for Bret. I assume you're aware of how Owen's master plan unfolded that night. 2. Even though I was only 13 and still more of a mark than anything, I did read columns in the Detroit News about wrestling that were pretty inside (convicted pedophile ML Curly wrote them with assistance from the Torch and possibly Observer) and I recall nobody saw that coming so soon. 3. From what I heard from Curly's hotline / column, the only way Owen would win the title is if he was going to be squashed by the soon to be returning Sid. 4. Ask Meltzer / wait for HTQ.

I remember similar ads in 1992 - specifically in the Summerslam 1992 program - but as advertisements for the Steel Cage video games, playable on your Nintendo Entertainment System, or even your Nintendo Game Boy - now you're playing with power... portable power. It's quite possible there was a magazine planned or ads for it, but as someone who got these magazines all the time in those days, I certainly don't recall it.

I stopped reading when the beginning of the article mentioned it was a mere wishlist though I imagine I wil give it a look over when I have some time.

As previously mentioned (but with uncertainty), Cena vs Angle at No Mercy in 2003, feautring the neat "Let's Go Cena!" / "Let's Go Angle!" dueling chant. That was followed up at WMXX with "Let's go Angle!" / "Angle Sucks!" dueling chants in his match with Eddie.

Don't they normally havea 90 day no complete clause anyway, or does that only apply to TNA?

Holy crap a broken flower pot! Damn Rhyno the hell. Rhyno was teaching a the Can-Am Wrestling School a month or two ago and rumours were flying he'd been looking to work a Border City Wrestling show. I assumed at that point he was actually released but then I saw his name in Heat spoilers.
-
More spoilers, essentially the same but afew more details (from WO) Good to see Kidman and Chavo getting along so well after their whole deal. Someone at my PPV groups Mania party mentioned that it would be neat if Carlito had a show called "Carlito's Cabana" and now it's happening. Weird.

"Makes mention that much like how the US title was "re-made" that he will do so with the WWE title"

When should Edge cash in his title shot?
DrVenkman PhD replied to Youth N Asia's topic in The WWE Folder
They should have had him pull a Hogan and challenge Batista immediatley after he won the title. -
Well they got a 4.2 rating anyway.. possibly by making people wait to see Big Dave.. possibly by being the night after WrestleMania (which everyone knew had Big Dave winning!).

2005 WWE Television Win-Loss Record & Standings
DrVenkman PhD replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
No, he's not working ROH. He appeared at one show and apparently WWE wasn't happy about it, and he probably won't be back. We should get a list for Smackdown too. I guess I'm out of the loop but wasn't there a reported working agreement between WWE and ROH now?
