    WWF/E Tidbits from the past

Interestinly enough, I think I have a picture of Chuck Austin in an issue of "The Wrestler" I found while cleaning the basement last week. It's a year in review (1994) and mentions the settlement. There's also an article "WWF 1985 vs. 1995" where they have a "computer" make a PPV for them. Weird.

Not to be a jerk, but I believe Crash getting messed up Richards' house was the final nail in his own coffin, not his WWE career. I could be mistaken but I believe Crash died in his sleep choking on vomit.

    Favorite Survivor Series match ever?

I enjoy New Rockers/Owen/Bulldog vs. Godwinns/Furnas and Lafon from 1996 as well as the elimination matches from 1995 and the 91, 93, and 94 openers. Survivor Series always seem to click with me... even in 2003, Team Angle vs Team Lesnar. Not a classic but I enjoyed the booking. Benoit goes over strongly to boot.

    No Way Out buy-rate

I don't know why anyone would have ordered NWO unless they have a group of friends that order every show and split the cost (like myself and co.)... it was a 3 weeks after the Rumble, which is a big PPV, and that was only 3 weeks after New Year's Revolution, which also drew well, and then you have Mania just around the corner. I'm not trying to defend JBL (though I've come around to enjoy him) or the booking / promoting of the show (which was horrible), but there was just no reason to consider ordering this show a wise financial choice.

    JBL after Mania?

I watched the 05 Rumble again today... man, you really take for granted the weekly "Eddie" chants until you watch a match with 29 other guys, note that Eddie gets the most boos for being eliminated, followed by a loud "Eddie" chant on his exit from the arena floor. He really should hold the belt again this year.

    Angle/HBK Feud

Getting back to Angle's Billy Madison angle of completing Grade K - 12 in 2 weeks... or something like that, this is the most intrigued I've been in reading SD! spoilers and then not watching the show in some time. While I hope things get rolling with Angle throwing Jindrak threw a window then winning the tag titles with Big Daddy Reigns, that's probably not what this angle is about... but if that's not what it's about, then I don't know what it's about at all! You also have to figure Eddie and Rey are losing the belts soon unless they just run their match as "the tag champs feel like having a friendly match". That might be best as it wouldn't turn either of them heel.

    Zelda pre-order bonus disc

The current issue of EGM has a screenshot of Windwaker looking updated with the graphics of the Zelda game coming out this fall as a bonus disc pre-order. However, it states "Beginning April 1st...". This is their April Fools joke, right? If it's not, it looks pretty cool.

WWE to Produce Montreal Screwjob DVD

If the Warrior DVD includes him being locked in a casket (the angle I saw on fateful Saturday morning in 1991 that got me into this whole wrestling thing) and vomitting from Papa Shango voodoo, I am sold. DVD quality video of Warrior vomitting and oozing black liquid = sales. I have a feeling this will actually end up being a 1 disc Coliseum budget re-release, though.. but you never know.

    WWE.Com March Jukebox

The annoying thing about this month (and I knew it would happen when March rolled around) is the best matches are things I already have on VHS and DVD (WrestleMania). The Ready to RUmble match is an interesting one, though... I only saw it through a poor video quality download that I beleive had German announcers dubbed over but it was an entertaining match. Although it's a bit of a stretch, it could also be viewed as WWE promoting the upcoming TNA PPV's main event!

    WWF/E Tidbits from the past

I just read that The Bushwackers caused a ruckus at a November 1991 house show by initiating a "Faggot" chant in a match against the Beverly Brothers. I also read that Bushwacker Luke handled contract negotiations between Vader and theWWF in 1996.

    Jericho's Ladder Match

I figured it would be a match for the IC title and Edge would be in it, but that makes no sense after his "I am better than all titles and need the World title" promo. Same reason I discounted it being TLC 5 (Jericho/Benoit vs E&C vs. Tajiri/Regal). I'm pretty sure Edge has also mentioned he has no desire to do that type of match again, though I guess if he wasn't jumping off the top of 20 foot ladders and spearing someone of the belt hook he might be cool with it.

    Matt and Lita

I read on a website a blurb from Matt Hardy's website (tematthardy.com) stating that he asked the webmaster to remove all picture of Amy, and if anyone runs into her at an appearance to ask her why. The news also mentioned there had been posts earlier of what a bad few days Matt had been having. Thing is, when I go to that website, I can't seem to do anyting but read posts (no picture links or anything) and the latest post is from the 17th and makes no mention of bad days or Lita pictures being taken down. Odd Edit: It's somewhere on the message board, which with FireFox a lot of the site didn't load and I didn't see a link to it. The report I read came from InsidePulse.

    Wrestlers favourite Mania moments

WWE Superstars tell their favorite WrestleMania moments Triple H: If I had to pick my very favorite WrestleMania moment, it would be winning the Undisputed Championship from Chris Jericho at WrestleMania X8. Not because of winning the championship, or the match, per se, but because it was kind of like the exclamation point on the return from my quad injury – something that a lot of people thought couldn’t be done, and sometimes I even thought couldn’t be done. So for me to be able to come back, be part of the main event of WrestleMania, and become the Undisputed Champion, after all that, was really the icing on the cake. Randy Orton: I’m biased, so it would be last year, at WrestleMania XX, which was my first WrestleMania. I had my dad in the stands watching my match, which was the first time he could remember watching as a fan in the audience. Also, because my father was in the first one, and I was in the twentieth – both in the same building – there was a lot of history, and a lot of emotions involved. Big Show: I was always a fan of Hogan vs. Andre at WrestleMania III, because I thought it told a great story, but I think my favorite WrestleMania match I was in was WrestleMania 2000, when I fought Mick [Foley], The Rock and Hunter for the WWE Championship. I got to be in the main event of WrestleMania, so that’s my personal favorite moment so far to date. Eddie Guerrero: The end of WrestleMania XX, with Chris [benoit] and I in the ring celebrating. Booker T: My all-time favorite WrestleMania moment would be Savage and Steamboat. I always have thought that that match was one of, if not the greatest match I’ve ever seen. And I always wanted to top that one day. Funaki: My favorite WrestleMania moment was Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon in a Ladder Match at WrestleMania X. John Cena: Hogan slamming Andre, WrestleMania III – not even a second thought. Scotty 2 Hotty: The time when Pete Rose attacked Kane at WrestleMania 2000, and took a stink face from Rikishi for his troubles. Steven Richards: Old-school Undertaker coming back at WrestleMania XX and taking on Kane. William Regal: The Iron Sheik walking down to the ring at WrestleMania X-Seven in Houston for the Gimmick Battle Royal. I was laughing hysterically, because I’ve never seen anyone walk to the ring on their ankles. Rhyno: Hogan Slamming Andre – WrestleMania III. Kurt Angle: It always entails yourself, because being in WrestleMania is the greatest thing in the world, regardless of where you are in the show. But my greatest WrestleMania moment was walking out to that ring against Brock Lesnar. I knew my neck was seriously injured, and a lot of the fans did too, so when I heard all of the people cheering, the neck pain went away – just for that moment. Since then, the neck pain’s been there, but for that one moment, it went numb, and I looked around not believing that I’d finally made it to the main event of WrestleMania, and that’s the pinnacle of being a WWE Superstar. Luther Reigns: It’s gonna be when I debut at WrestleMania, that’s gonna be my favorite moment. Mark Jindrak: During the beginning of the WCW invasion, some of us WCW Superstars were sitting in the crowd, watching WrestleMania X-Seven from a skybox in the Houston Astrodome. Orlando Jordan: The Hollywood Hogan/ Ultimate Warrior standoff at WrestleMania VI, because it was just unreal. I was rooting for the Warrior that night, and was happy when he won. I never liked Hogan as a kid, because I always thought he was the real bad guy. Obviously, I was right. Danny Basham: When my brother and I made our WrestleMania debut at WrestleMania XX in Madison Square Garden during the Fatal Four Way Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Doug Basham: I have many favorite WrestleMania moments, but the one that goes to the top of my list is being a part of WrestleMania XX. Jim Ross: Deciding to wear underwear at WrestleMania IX. But as far as in ring action, I have two; Stone Cold vs. Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13 in Chicago, and Stone Cold vs. The Rock at WrestleMania X-Seven in the Astrodome. Jerry “the King” Lawler: Well, one was when Pete Rose dressed like a chicken at WrestleMania XV, and got Tombstoned by Kane. The other was when Pete came back the next year with a baseball bat, tried to attack Kane, and got a Stink Face by Rikishi. Something tells me he learned his lesson after that. Tajiri: Getting the 619 from Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania XX. Eric Bischoff: I love them all, each and every one. Robert Conway: Just being in it. Watching WrestleMania is great, but being in it is a lot cooler. Sylvain Grenier: Me. When I ran down to the ring at WrestleMania XIX to interfere in the match between Hogan and McMahon. Being in the ring with Hogan in front of all those people was surreal. Muhammad Hassan: The Hogan/Rock staredown at WrestleMania X8. Khosrow Daivari: Any Stone Cold vs. Rock match, because they were all so interesting to watch. Each of them kicked out of one another’s finishers, and that had never been done up to that point. It was amazing. Nunzio: When I found out I was participating in the Cruiserweight Battle Royal at WrestleMania XX, because it was a place where my father took me to see all the WWE shows when I was growing up, including the first WrestleMania. Spike Dudley: Without a doubt, the biggest, most inspirational WrestleMania moment for me was WrestleMania III, where Hogan pinned Andre, and Andre lost for the first time. I was a big wrestling fan going into that, and Andre losing was unheard of. So with that match, and over 90,000 people, it was the turning point in wrestling, and without a doubt, the most electrifying match – certainly the one that grabbed my attention the most. Daniel Puder: Mine hasn’t happened yet. It will be next year when I win the WWE Championship. Chavo Guerrero: It was at WrestleMania XX, when I defeated 15 other cruiserweights by myself to retain the Cruiserweight Championship. Carlito: I’d say the Ladder Match between Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania X, because it was innovative, and the first time I’d seen anything like it. That match, that match was cool! Akio: Rock vs. Hogan at WrestleMania X8. It was a dream match you never thought would happen, but it did. Rene Dupree: I have two, Savage vs. Steamboat at WrestleMania III, and the Ladder Match between Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania X. Paul London: The match between Giant Gonzales and Undertaker at WrestleMania IX. I thought Gonzales was amazing. Here’s this huge guy with a ripped body and perfectly symmetrical body hair – just incredible. Another of my favorites was Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart the following year. To me, that was the perfect match. Watch the Undertaker match on your computer* Rey Mysterio: The first one I was in, which was WrestleMania XIX in Seattle, against Matt Hardy. That match was historic for me, and I was very nervous, and very excited. But once the match was over, I felt like I’d really accomplished one of my dreams. The Coach: When I started the whole Rock/ Hogan rivalry by interviewing The Rock before his match with Hogan at WrestleMania X8 in Toronto. After my great interview, The Rock went out there and had a great match against Hogan. None of that would have ever happened had it not been for the Coach. Edge: As a fan, it was Hollywood Hogan slamming Andre the Giant. As a Superstar, it was the first time Christian and I won the World Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 2000 in Anaheim, because after we won, we stood on top of that ladder/ tables contraption, and held the titles over our heads. That was special. Kenzo Suzuki: The Rock vs. Mankind vs. Triple H vs. Big Show, because I was working for New Japan Pro Wrestling, but was training in Calgary. I saw that match, and was so impressed with Foley, that I wanted to be just like him. Charlie Haas: Wrestling with Shelton Benjamin at WrestleMania XIX. It was our first WrestleMania, and we were victorious, retaining our WWE Tag Team Championship, and realizing a dream come true. Then, as we were heading backstage, 60,000 plus were yelling 'you suck,' and Shelton turned to me, grabbed me, and said 'soak it all in, because this is what we’ve been working for our whole lives.' Brooklyn Brawler: I’d have to say the match I had before WrestleMania III against Paul Roma. Even though it wasn’t televised, competing in front of 93,000 people was amazing, and certainly one of the highlights of my career. Shannon Moore: The first time I wrestled at a WrestleMania, which was WrestleMania XIX in Seattle. Being in front of 60,000 people, and just being a part of that show was something I’ll remember for the rest of my life – definitely my favorite WrestleMania moment. Batista: That’s easy, Hogan slamming Andre. Chris Jericho: As a fan, my favorite moment was Owen vs. Bret at WrestleMania X. I was a big Owen Hart fan, and I think that that match was his breakout moment. It was really presented well. Then, my personal favorite moment was my match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XIX. Shelton Benjamin: When Rhyno Gored Chavo at WrestleMania XIX, allowing Charlie [Haas] and I to win the WWE Tag Team Championship match. Thanks Rhyno! Christian: Beating Chris Jericho at WrestleMania XX, ‘cause I liked beating Y2J, and I really enjoyed humiliating him afterwards. Tyson Tomko: Andre the Giant vs. Hollywood Hogan at WrestleMania III. Nothing else compares to that. Simon Dean: WrestleMania III – Hogan slamming Andre, Savage vs. Steamboat, and [King Kong] Bundy splashing a midget (Little Beaver). Gene Snitsky: The return of the original Undertaker at WrestleMania XX. The Hurricane: Personally, it was when I won the Hardcore Championship from Spike Dudley at WrestleMania X8. As a fan, it was Savage winning the WWE Championship by beating Ted DiBiase in the finals of the tournament at WrestleMania IV. Rosey: The Headshrinkers double splash on Scott Steiner at WrestleMania IX. Kane: My first match with Undertaker at WrestleMania XIV. Val Venis: Besides the two WrestleManias I was involved in – I was supposed to be in a third, but ended up on HEAT instead – I would say WrestleMania III with Hogan finally slamming Andre the Giant. I was young then, and I remember sitting at home, watching that show, and feeling the energy of that crowd – 93,000 plus. Every time Hogan tried to slam Andre, I would go crazy, and he kept trying, and trying, and trying, and then when he finally slammed him, I jumped out of my seat. I just couldn’t believe he did it! Maven: WrestleMania III, Steamboat vs. Savage, of course. Trish Stratus: Winning the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania XIX in Seattle. But then again, any moment with me in it is a memorable one. Chris Benoit: Not to be biased, but it would have to be WrestleMania XX, winning the World Heavyweight Championship in Madison Square Garden. That was the defining moment of my career. Shawn Michaels: I’ve got a lot of favorite WrestleMania moments, and I’m proud of that. The Ladder Match with Razor Ramon is special, the WWE Iron Man Match with Bret Hart is special. They’re special for different reasons. The match with Stone Cold at WrestleMania XIV is special because of my situation with my back. Then my first one back (WrestleMania XIX) against Jericho was special, just because I didn’t think I’d be back. So just to be there was special. Being in the main event of WrestleMania XX was special, and this one is also shaping up to be special, I’m blessed to be a part of something special. WrestleMania is a special time, and I’ve come to a point where I appreciate every show, and I certainly appreciate every WrestleMania. -- Worth it for the Paul London comments.

"You can't say that on Television!"

While you could probably say it on WWE TV now without much issue, I recall Mean Gene almost asking Bobby Hennan about having the balls to do something before he changed it to nerve. Hennan's reply did a similar thing. It may have actually been at WM6, (where HEnnan did have his dirty words temper tantrum with Andre), but I'm not positive.

    Underrated PPV's

I love WM VII but I've talked to many people who think it's an overly-patriotic show with a terrible angle for the main event. While that criticism is valid, I still find it to be highly entertaining.

    Cena or JBL?

With Batista, they've already begun building to a title defense against Edge at Backlash then possibly heel Orton and eventually HHH again. I think Cena will actually continue fueding with JBL, perhaps with JBL even winning the belt back at the Great American Bash again. Cena can then re-win it at SummerSlam or something.
