Bah, Smackdown pre-empted in Detroit
DrVenkman PhD replied to Youth N Asia's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, when Observer reported this last week thanks to some guy who always sends dumb little notes in, it said SmackDown would be on Saturday at 8pm this week and Sunday at noon next week. At the tapings last night, they asked us to tune in this Thursday, which will probably confuse people who don't know. -
NEEDED: Picture of Elimination Chamber
DrVenkman PhD replied to David Blazenwing's topic in The WWE Folder
.. not the best. -
Another just remembered highlight! Someone behind the announcers table had a Macho Man t-shirt on. Anyway, I'm off to watch Conan.

Shit, how did I forget it... The rhyme for the crackhouse was "You only look good in a blackout. Joe Louis ain't an arena, it's the world's biggest crakhouse".
-
I didn't bother to remember the order of all the backstage segments, hence I mentioned NONE of them. Vince was in a couple more segments than the one I did mention, but just for a short period (One was Big Show destroying his office in a fit of rage). No Stephanie, though.

Very exciting segment I forgot about! Sable gave A-Train her hotel key.

Matt Hardy vs Rey Mysterio The Basham Brothers vs. Strange Bedfellows (Gunn/Noble) Zach Gowen vs Brock Lesnar Undertaker/Jordan vs. Cena/A-Train Tajiri/Benoit vs Eddie/Rhyno Angle vs. Big Show

That should eventually be going up on Observer, from me.

The theatre I was at also loved it

Just how bad will Jersey Girl be next year?
DrVenkman PhD replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Television & Film
The movie will top out around a 30M gross. Smith fans know that by now. -
"Go Go Power Rangers" Pure mark out moment

The entire "Season 5" of Futurama was just unaired episodes from Season 4. FOX treated the show badly but I'm glad they at least allowed the show to finish up the remaining, completed episodes.

The fact "Create Moves" is below "Create Appearance" indicates to me it is where you go to assign movesets, not invent moves.

I did like last night's "See you on another network" opening. Gives you some hope to the rumours of it having new episodes (or movies) done for CN or direct to DVD. Also, Zoidberg's line was "Your music is bad and you should feel bad"

Hot Shots and Hot Shot: Part Deux
DrVenkman PhD replied to Ed Wood Caulfield's topic in Television & Film
The guy cooking the hot dog in the jet exhaust flame was what won me over as a kid. Good movies. -
I too noticed you gave points to things Rob would have not liked, but I'm all for optimistic reveiws. The thing with that is I'm the minority, and you'd probably have a bigger fanabse if you hated everything always.

Mr. America is still in the intro of the game's current build that IGN posted videos of the other day.. but they'll probably remove that.
-
Or why don't I just shut me TV off? Because the PS2 will still be making a loud noise, made even louder by the total silence of trying to get to sleep. It's really just a minor thing that I'm glad someone besides me isn't really fond of either.

Good news everyone... no Nate Jones either.

The "Ultra" era kinda killed Game Players for me. Still a good mag though. Speaking of Mike, did anyone read PCXL? I'm not even into PC games and I read it monthly.

A few of my WWE DVD's mess up on the PS2, most notably Vengeance 2001, which I tried two different copies of when I returned the first thinking it was defective. It worked fine on my friends Xbox though. SummerSlam 2001 gets all skippy during Taker/Kane vs DDP/Kanyon and Rock/Booker, but thankfully leaves Angle/Austin alone. Again, worked perfectly fine on a real DVD player the other day. Royal Rumble 2002 stops for a split second when Bradshaw enters.. no big deal. I think there are a few other small "freeze" gltiches I've noticed at home that I haven't watching the DVDs elsewhere, but it's really no big deal. This bothers me A LOT, as many times watching a DVD are how I wind down a day before going to sleep, and then I realize I have to get up and shut the PS2 off after getting all comfy in bed. Bottom line: The PS2 is an acceptable DVD player and if you don't wish to, there is no need to run out and pay more money for a stand alone player. It's not a bad idea when you do have the extra money, however.

According to IGN, the Legends list is still being finalized through negotiations. When they gave the "confirmed, will not change, for sure in the game" list of Legends, I noticed Warrior's name, who from the beginning I could not see licencing himself out to a WWE product, was not on it. Hopefully he stays in though.. he needs to job to Ted for me.

KOCH DVDs, more specifically WWF Action
DrVenkman PhD replied to iliketurtles's topic in Television & Film
The only real problem I have with the Action! DVD is my copy takes about two minutes or so to get to the menu (as Karnage mentioned). However, I haven't tried my "Stop, Play, Triangle" (PS2 remote) method of skipping past all that stuff that I have been using on WWE DVD's lately. On that note, my PS2 plays some WWE DVDs real shitty. Sometimes it stops for a second then continues, but for some DVDs like Vengeance 01 (which I tried two copies of) it goes all crazy during Taker/RVD then stops and prompts me to hit play. SummerSlam 2001 also gets a bit choppy during the tag title match and Booker vs Rock match, but both of these DVDs run perfectly fine on real DVD players. I'm thinking of getting one to avoid future problems like this. -
Spanky/Funaki seem to give any tag team at least a ***1/2 star match. And teaming them gets them really over.. I've got them to main event status after a feud with WGTT.
-
Dames star ratings generally seem to reflect the match quality %. A 97% match rating isn't technically perfect, to it makes sense those matches get ****3/4. My Eddie vs Chavo matches always get 99% / ****3/4, but so far both of my big PPV Benoit/Angle matches got the big *****.
