I remember when Brian Knobs or JErry Saggs only scored like 3 points so Hennan jokingly walked away. That was funny. Foley backed out of a planned Byte This interview because of the necrophilia and (I don't know what the Insider version of the story is, just what Booker T said on TV) didn't show up at Raw X. However, those were all months ago and nothing terribly offensive (content wise) has happened since he started watching regularly again (I believe a Make a Wish kid got him interested again). It was a bit of a groan moment to hear Foley say "When I was watching Raw last week AS I ALWAYS DO..."

As I said, Lord Azzington is the only person I heard use that name, and he's banned so what does THAT tell you about him?

Every set of spoilers I've read refered to her as "Linda Miles", so what is this Shaniqua thing all about?

Raw is replayed one hour after it ends in Canada, so SKeith watched that and reviewed it. No offense to anyone who took place in this boycott (and wasn't just not watching Raw anyway), but what the fuck was being proved here? The rating ended up being down but I'm 99.9% sure that had nothing to do with a boycott half the people (myself included) in this thread didn't even seem to know was happening. I was only really aware of a boycott Tim "El Dandy~" Livingston mentioned in one of his columns on 411 for sometime in May, and out of politeness I didn't trash it as totally useless or retarded in Shades of Gray (also because I ended up not writing another column since I started working 2 months ago... I had a bit of time today and was going to write a Bad Blood preview, but then I asked myself why I would even bother something like that and passed, waiting for another idea to hit me on a day off in the future.. but I digress). The only people who know there was a boycott seem to be the people who already aren't watching or watching and not enjoying it, so saying "yep, I didn't watch Raw" shows nothing. Perhaps there is some mission statement written somewhere I haven't read that details the fact that such a boycott would do nothing of importance and was merely designed for the sake of principle, but seeing nothing myself I wrote to Keith and asked why he even bothered with the boycott when as a Canadian his not watching mattered even less. I said he should have just stuck with the hockey excuse, but it really didn't matter since a few hours later a Raw rant was up with brand new reasoning (the IQ Test on FOX). So, whatever. Petitions, boycotts, etc. = Worthless. But that's just my opinion. Wow, you're boycotting a show that no one knows if you're watching or not since you don't have a neilsen box. REBELS~!

Never really watched JAG, but thought he was good as Kano in Mortal Kombat. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ople_goddard_dc

Of course with Family Guy long since gone from FOX, they paid tribute (I guess) to the show by having Peter Griffin be a Homer Clone in the last Halloween Special.

Jericho vs Angle was also Angle's 1st round match for the 2000 KOTR (really should have been the final since Rikishi had no business doing 3 matches that night, but that's an old complaint at this point). Glad to see someone else didn't totally ignore Shawn Michaels in their dream match selections.
-
Shawn Michaels or Ric Flair vs. The SmackDown 6 (perferably Tajiri instead of Chavo - nothing against Chavo). Flair vs. Eddie was pretty damn average at KOTR last year, but Flair seems to have a spark in him now (and I guess that off air tribute has furthered it).

Don't know if everyone already knew this, but I just noticed today. Under "News" on WWE.com, where it would normally come down to say "Headlines / Commentary / Edge Column / Droz Column / WWE Corp", it got rid of Edge and Droz, and the Commentary page is now nothing but wrestlers and Tom Pritchard.
-
"History of the Championship" has had multiple release dates and is seemingly never coming out. Hopefully it actually does come out this year.
-
Now, I figured they cut America the Beautiful from WM14 because it was an absolutely terrible rendition, but why from the WM XIX release? Royalty issues with Ashanti or the song itself? Not that I really care (considering I'm Canadian), just something I wondered while watching Mania today.
-
What I should have clarified is they were removed from the bar that comes down when you put a cursor over "News" and moved to the Commentary section, in place of the old non-wrestler writers.

Something I Noticed Watching my WM19 Tape

WrestleMania 2000 came with the awesome History disc, but why everyone expects the Mania DVDs to have blow away extras every year when now 2 years in a row no such thing has been presented amazes me. WMX-7, which the box somehow calculated at 7 hours, had a few interviews from Heat, the match from Heat, and the ability to watch video packages of stuff that was already presented on the show. They didn't even have the full Rock/Austin match from the next Raw, just a video package about it that I believe was used the following week on Raw or at Backlash 2001. X8 stepped it up but was still basically a collection of the materials presented on the Countdown to WrestleMania special, almost no different then the way XIX is using the WrestleMania related pieces from Confidential as extras this year. The biggest extras on X8 were a few minutes of footage from Byte This! with Vince McMahon and the Hogan/Warrior match from WM6, but I already own that show so big deal. No Heat match on X8, but the Heat match is on XIX. To it's credit, X8 has a FULL segment from the next night's Raw instead of the video package business they did with X-7, but XIX also has the Goldberg debut from Raw which I did enjoy more than Hogan's little deal with Rock post-Mania (and I like Hogan way more than Goldberg - old school WWF fan mentality). Winner: WMXIX -

WWE.com had a story up right after the PPV about WrestleMania: The Movie. It will be a 1 hour special on UPN, airdate unknown. -
WrestleMania / America the Beautiful question
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Depending on how much extra stuff WWE crams on a DVD to make it extend past the 3 hours the disc was intended for, the picture gets noticably "downloaded and watched on a computer type blurry square pixel look" (which I believe the kids call artifacting but I could be wrong). I'm not a big videophile so I can't say I notice a picture problem but I'm sure someone will. It's looks bright and crisp to me, better than any VHS tapes I have. -
5 weeks ago I was certain Brock/Angle was going to main event the first ever SD! PPV in an attempt to make it look big, much the same way I assumed HHH/Goldberg would do the same at Bad Blood. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): However, after reading the SD! Spoilers, Angle/Brock seems really unlikely since they're all buddy/buddy now. I imagine Angle/Brock was planned for a heel Angle return, but the creative side that was lobbying for babyface won, so looks like a Brock/Kurt vs. Team Benoit feud until Kurt and Brock eventually face off again at WMXX .

Q: Quebecers - Bringing back one of the greatest tag teams ever in 1998 without their (Not the) Mountie costumes and jobbing them to the Godwins. Q: Queers - The Billy and Chuck saga ending with Stephanie McMahon making out with Rikishi in drag.

I have this feeling they're doing some sort of Hulk tie in. Next week Kane will cut a promo with Austin, saying "Are you trying to make me angry? YOU WON'T LIKE ME WHEN I'M ANGRY" and then he goes all beserk. Another feeling is they may turn this ANGRY = POWER deal into a gimmick for the RVD/Kane team, where RVD and Kane will be losing (since RVD dopes up Kane with the marijuana, thus making him cool and collected and no longer the angry monster he was), then RVD can do something to make Kane angry and they win. Something dumb like that. Either way, I was interested in last night's promo, and that was probably the best Stunner sell Kane has done.

Austin made a point to say Trust Me. Trust Me = Jake Roberts.

OK...it seems like the Split is kinda doing better

The Matrix promo was for "The One" Billy Gunn. -
Question: My signature (which I need to change since my last SOG is so long ago I want to remove the link for now) has a link for an IRC pals news headline collecting site. It's part of my sig and is therefore only shown after I've contributed something to a thread... but should I remove it anyway?

I suppose if I actually paid for PPV instead of watching them at a bar with friends, often talking about stuff not related to what's happening on the PPV, it would be different.
-
Yep. I really have no explanation why, it's just one of those things. I enjoy watching wrestling, even when it's not that good.

General rule: People are idiots and will get confused if they see 2 different WWE PPV's being advertised at the same time. So, what will happen (in my opinion) is mini-TV feuds during the month whatever brand isn't doing PPV with some build towards the next months show, followed by match announcements when the other brands PPV has aired. One of the things I noticed was WWE immediatley announced the main event for Bad Blood and heavily implied another 2 where normally they take a week or more to do so. I may be the minority, but after fearing I would dread it, I'm looking forward to Bad Blood. I'm normally satisfied with 2-3 good matches on an 8 match show and both Booker/Christian and Michales/Flair should be good. I have faith in Jericho to make Goldberg have a good match too.
