I'm telling you, Mr. America is Hogan under a mask. He'll come to Real American and challenge Piper for Judgment Day.

I remember that interview (the interview itself, before the Fatal Four Way elimination match before Armageddon, not the content) but I didn't take anything about divorcing Nancy out of it. From Google Groups...

Oh, I know their wrestling bios are often wrong (hell, at one point I had them listing a fake promotion called the EfNet Pro Wrestling Power Hour until someone else went overboard with adding fake stuff to it, causing IMDB to remove it). I'm just saying, today is the first time I've ever heard anything about him not being married to Nancy.

I'm pretty sure Benoit is married to Nancy... that's who had his kid, anyway. The Benoit Bio on IMDB

I'm totally used to WWE as far as typing it (to the point where, despite the general concensous in here not to, I retroactively type WWE when talking about older things, and when I watch the PPV's where they would open with pyro and Jim Ross starts yelling, I expect him to welcome us to a WWE or World Wrestling Entertainment show. However, I find actually SAYING WWE to be a different devil all together. I often slip out WWF, and when I speak with casual fan friends some aren't even familiar with the name change causing me to say WWF so they know what I'm talking about.

Who do you guys think "Mr. America" is? Hogan under a mask? Also, the 1w Velocity spoilers say Kanyon did a promo with Jackie Gayda before his match. I have nothing against them doing angles on the B-shows, it's just that no one watches. How many people are going to watch SmackDown on the 24th knowing Crash is an MFer and Kanyon is back with Gayda?

Armageddon 2002 has Edge vs Angle vs Benoit vs Eddie from SmackDown, which is better than anything on the PPV.

Speaking of Vader, I think it's funny how the Survivor Series 2002 DVD's "Poster Gallery" uses the prototype poster for 96 with Vader's head where Sid's ended up. Poor screwed over Leon. As for the other HBK/DBS matches that weren't at Beware of Dog, there was one from 1992 on Fox's SNME where Shawn took the IC belt. I had to watch that on a small black and white TV at my friends because their dad got mad and ripped the regular TV's electric cord off (listen to your parents, kids!) and I really have no memory of it... if I did, it would be from a really markish standpoint anyway. Then there's HBK vs Bulldog at One Night Only, which might actually be a good match but, even though I like Shawn, the match pisses me off so I never enjoy it (if you don't know, right before the match Davey dedicates it to his deathly ill sister.. and loses).

According to 411, 1w's premium section apparently reported WWE has NO interest in Sting at all. This is pretty much the opposite of what Dave Meltzer has been saying, and Alex Marvez wrote Sting was already set to debut. Weird.
-
I could be mistaken but I believe the BOD match has a spot where they botch something and Michaels gets all pissy, which is funny.

I downloaded the full27 minute video file of the European title match off of Kazaa a few weeks ago, and watching it for the first time I thought it was really awesome. It's a tough call, and I haven't seen Bret vs Bulldog in a few months (on the Confidential DVD, my reason for buying it.. previous to that it was the one time I managed to rent SummerSlam 92 in 1992) while I just watched Owen/Bulldog the other day, but probably Bret vs Bulldog.

There's a post on 1w now where Scherer says he is confused over why sites like 411 and TheMayhem have reported 1w reported there is no interest in Sting. He goes on to say the June debut (like WO said) is likely.

Angle's run is superior to Jericho's for a few reasons: 1. Jericho had debuted 3 months prior to Survivor Series 99 yet didn't wrestle at SummerSlam (but he appeared) or No Mercy. which leads to.. 2. Angle, until Backlash airs, has wrestled at every single PPV since debuting on TV... 3. Wrestling on PPV is far more important then just being there. Jericho only appeared at SummerSlam after his debut and didn't wrestle at No Mercy 99 or Backlash 2002. Angle has actually WRESTLED on every PPV since appearing on TV (having your debut on PPV helps).

I'm assuming you mean against Barbarian at WM6.... I've always like the way he sold that.
-
125. He teamed with Mr. Perfect on the very first Brand Extended Raw.

I guess that means right about now, 6 years ago, the WEAKEST CHAIR SHOT IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY was thrown care of Lance Storm.

Thanks J.

This thread along with the Bossman > Goldberg thread are my early candidates for Thread of the Year... Anyway, at Rock Bottom in December 98, Vince is thinking about going into Mankind's "office" to speak to him about his match with The Rock. That's all well and good, except.... Way down at the end of the hall, Mankind is visibly seen not in his office, and on top of that he's speaking to his opponent, The Rock.

Bonus! 101. Bossman is from the south but didn't mind being a black man's lackey. He's a true saint.

I don't know if any of you get Alex Marvez's column from Miami syndicated in your paper (we do here in Windsor), but he writes a weekly column and anyway blah blah... Ok, while I'm sure he's just taking it from the Observer and maybe can't be counted as a 2nd source, it was interesting to note the very end of his column talked about TNA's surprise appearances and how WWE was following suit with "Roddy Piper, Rena 'Sable' Mero, and the upcoming debut of Sting" Just thought I'd pass that along.

Why does the calendar say WWE Backlash is within 2 days?
-
TAKA did in fact come back after that bump and was involved in one of Raw's best world title matches with Triple H.

some Steiner brothers match from Superstars in 1993 I found. Scott and Rick basically kill the guys with Dragon and German suplexes. I've always liked LOD vs Power and Glory from WMVII.
