Sushi X was actually a composite of several different writers. Thanks to the internet (wikipedia) for that info. Apparently people caught on to this when the EGM2 or some variation of X mysteriously became fond of RPGs, among other contradictions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sushi-X

Me: This vote - unless, as my history of counting votes at 5 am has shown is possible, I counted wrong - makes it 10-9 in favour of Kinetic. Already this is a moral victory for me. Being the #1 seed overall is a moral victory. Beating TSM Legends like Inc and Slayer (avenged!) were moral victories. Making it to the Final Four for a 2nd time after falling short last year is a moral victory. Bitters McBitterson showing his true colours sucked, but it's all fair in the Poster Tournament and that won't get me down. So yeah, this was a good tournament for me... but it's not time to write myself off yet. I can still rally the undecided voters, the common folk who seem to be unaware of this tournament - the little people that make TSM more than just a core group of folk bantering wits with each other in a corner. Vitamin X: I still suspect that this is his tournament to win, not Kinetic's. He's a good guy and has always had my support (as a columnist, as a poster, as a folder mod, as a tournament contender, etc.). Another good showing by VX! I believe this round is also 10-9 in favour of Agent right now, so let's see if we can pull out the comeback wins!

Worth noting: zio's handle is actually "Jack Swagger's All-American Swagger". It rarely shows up in full form anywhere, but that's his official name. I wouldn't want sullied HOF records.

More detailed spoilers from F4W: I've never been a fan of them telling you who #1 is at the Rumble. I like it when we all find out who drew #1 right before they enter.

Detailed spoilers from F4W:

The Road to the Rumble continues as HBK takes on John Cena. Randy Orton also faces The Man they Call Kane.

Not to be confused with 2006's Employee of the Month, the above Employee of the Month also stars Dave Foley, or so I've gathered from wikipedia.

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion

Is "the Vampiro match" the graveyard match with Sting? That was a Halloween Shortie in either 2006 and 2007 and was amazingly awful. -
New Line went under? They have the greatest company logo in the history of film, that shouldn't happen. That version having music makes it less terrifying, but it was the best quality version available.

At least on 24/7, he can be mentioned (though this is hit and miss) and seen, just not wrestle.
-
Yeah, 11/24 will be up in 5.5 hours - Eastern Time, anyway (though due to some sort of mess up I've had it for a week and never got 11/17). I know 909 gets his content Tuesday evening instead of 12am.

Makes sense. Fair enough.

Tell that to Rosey.

Wikipedia lists Kane's entry as being WWE confirmed, but that could be from commentary. I also don't see it on WWE.com. It's weird that Raw only has 8 slots for the match (and that 8 is counting Chris Jericho and Kane) and Santino managed to sneak in the final Raw slot. Guess we'll get some random mystery guys again.
-
I forgot to mention I really liked the Beth/Melina angle too. They have a good history of making their beatdowns look great on TV.

- I enjoyed how two of the storylines on the show (Jericho being fired and a bad ref call) seemed like shoots on real life things going on in WWE. Who doesn't love that!? - Seriously though, if Jericho isn't rehired by Vince next week, I hope we get a Rumble appearance by WWE newcomer and masked sensation El Corazón de León. - The Austin video was good stuff and I marked for Cult of Personality. - I'm glad Ted is back in The Legacy. I was never fond of all this talk of him maybe being a face against the faction - why would this happen? Maybe it's because in my mind I looked at Cody and Ted as recent tag team champions and I thought Orton already made it clear he was only trying to kick sense into Ted (and the Manu/Cody/Ted group as a whole) back when he first did it, but perhaps that was just interpretation on my part. I remember being puzzled that Cody lasted 30 minutes in last year's Rumble (and that Taker had to sell a dropkick from him), but he's come a long way in a year. - Shawn / Cena was good and the superkicks were great, but I always have and always will view the Mania 23 as the best match they've had. This is pure bias based solely on the fact I was there live and found it to be an amazing experience.

You guys should just shout movie and TV titles like Canadian Destroyer. Who needs this italics nonsense?!

They're current policy of adding 1 library title and 2 WiiWare titles instead of randomizing what 2-3 types of games are put up is quite frustrating. Microsoft is currently annoying me with the same thing (1 specific XBLA game or library title and then "Community Games" that use NXE avatars).

Scroby has my support on this one. It's a friggin message board thread about a PPV that isn't happening for a little under two weeks. Participants listed in the first post will be based on when The Scrobster sees a TV show or reads about it on WWE.com and has a chance to edit it. You can all feel free to chime in with "so and so said on commentary that such and such is in the Rumble" and he'll get to it when he can. If you're that impatient and I confirmed it, I can always edit his post. But seriously, just take it down a notch.

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion

I seem to recall the internet community being pretty happy with BATB 2000 (rare for a WCW show at the time), but that could have been the hype of it all. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing it. -
I can't say I didn't spend part of the episode thinking "didn't we explore this concept on Seinfeld?", but it was good.
-
I've told this story before but a claim Joe Legend made to some wrestling students was WWE thought trademarking "Rhino" would be a problem due to the Marvel character so they were going to call him 'Mary'. Rhino called is buddy Joe in a panic, so Mr. Legend suggested they go with 'Rhyno' ala 'Chyna'.

Works fine for me, I suffered through the whole thing. Perhaps I wasn't paying attention (but I'm chalking this up to being Russo's WCW), but why were people being eliminated by going through the middle ropes? Savage just left for no reason (I guess because he wasn't an official participant, as if people like Medusa and Molly 'Mona' Holly were) but Hogan goes out through the middle and that's an elimination. Speaking of Mona, I liked how Tony kept misidentifying either Madusa or Aysa as Mona, then when she actually came in, says "I guess she heard me!". As I was typing that, I remembered that WW3 rules were just exiting the ring, so I guess that means all WCW battle royals are contested under WWE Diva rules? I figured it was just old guys not wanting to take bumps.

Did Cole not get JR's memo about "The Throwback"? I kept waiting for him to call it that, and all three times (two attempts and one execution) it was referred to as "Going for the win" (once) or "the victory", which gave me an idea of what to call a finisher if I were ever to be a wrestler. That will never happen, so I'll just name a move that in SVR 09 someday.

Well it only had 20 men, but yes, it was 35 minutes vs. 95's 38:41 minutes.
