WWE General Discussion-November 2008
DrVenkman PhD replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
I thought Bryan liked Punk? Speaking of Alvarez, Bix, and odd Board conspiracies, I dislike rovert more than any poster I've ever interacted with here, but I was happy to see him campaigning for any book that isn't Ring of Hell to win WON's BOTY. Go Gorgeous George! -
Edge denied it was him. I assumed it was just him being a heel with no further mystery about it, but that's a good scenario.

Heh, yeah. It was a funny sequence - Tugboat eliminates the favourite in Hogan, then the smallest guy in the ring (Shawn) eliminates Tugboat. Out of nowhere you see Hercules run to the ropes and propel himself over. You can BRIEFLY see Bossman in the area and I think the idea was he forcefully ejected Herc, but it's funnier just to view it as is. Just skimming through the Striker specials: "One of the reasons I loved WCW..." Vince really doesn't listen to this guy does he? I love it.

Chazz just sent me a private message.

Fuck, I remember that. I think he dressed up in a superman outfit too. -

He's been keeping it real for years. Remember when he gave money out at the SkyDome Raw in 99? -

Plus it's not on the Mania 22 DVD so in the annals of history, it never happened anyway. -

In fairness, the last 32 matches or so she's had have sucked. I did enjoy her brief feud with Katie, but when her and Beth resumed feuding over the belt again, every spot they did seemed mistimed, and it certainly wasn't Beth's fault -
Vanhalen is dead inside these days anyway. He just floats around the board like an apparition, reminding us he exists and that he doesn't bump old threads anymore, but not really saying anything more than that.
-
I like you bob, but that's bullshit. Had you said "That's true I used to start a thread every single time a person was banned, but hey, it's how I got my fake title, so huzzah! I disagree with 95% of bannings, but 5% of the time I agree" it would have been a bit more accurate.

Totally random, but I was in one of my "use a free translator to make something French, then put it back into English" moods and this is the above post: "This is one of the things more stupid than I heard a little later. I know that it called Beating the Clock, but it was declared every time that the man that beats his opponent in the quantity more short of time is the conqueror. Since Jeff and the Trips secured for the time more quick, they have or the two obtains a blow or has the other every face to determine a true conqueror. Jeff should not be the conqueror just only because his game continued first. The reason that the presenters always say "if and if BEAT the clock" is because they do not want to telegraph a game no one. As that it astonishes when it arrives." Just random fun. Carry on.

Makes sense.

Would "Gamblor" have been in play as an unseen character?

"The Chat" annoys me since it makes the threads baron. -

Did Eve get a new rack or something? I barely remembered her winning the final Diva Search or anything she ever did, but now, I know exactly who she is. -
Well, you see... uh... The Draft... 9/11... HHH has no rematch clause because Vickie is a meanie.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

We were going to have a tournament for "Least Memorable Poster of 2008" but no one could think of anyone to nominate. -
Well by that logic, whose clock did Jeff beat? His own? Just because he went first, his time would win in the event of a tie? I guess there is some logic to that, but it's not Fair to Flair... er, HHH.

I know people give TNA (and even WWE with the Scramble matches) guff over complicated rules that take multiple screens to explain the rules (and with good cause), but Jesus Christ, the "Rage Of The Cage" match Joey was plugging? What the HELL was that all about? Let me see if I have this correct. It was a "six man tag" between Raven/Richards/Brian Lee and Dreamer/Sandman/Terry Gordy. Raven and Sandman were inside a cage. Richards and Gordy were brawling from somewhere else to the floor - whoever got to the floor first gave their team a 2 on 1 advantage in the cage. Meanwhile, Dreamer and Lee were having a "Falls Count Anywhere" in Philadelphia match OUTSIDE the cage. AND, if anyone pinned Richards, Raven lost his ECW title. Huh?
-
How was HHH/Benjamin? For whatever reason my DVRd SmackDown got all messed up during me FFing through the Raw Rebound and just went to audio only. I admit I had a good laugh over the Miz/Morrison/Festus antics.

I checked "Big Show" because right now it's listed in the Mania/SummerSlam/Survivor/Rumble section and thought "this must be where the big shows are". How silly of me. I'm watching the April 91 SNME right now. Really surprised to hear a licenced song ("Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting") remain as the intro theme. Clips of Undertaker locking Warrior in a casket in the intro reveal this show aired when I was already watching wrestling, but I was apparently not aware it was on. Savage still seems to be a bit heelish on commentary too, so that's cool.
-
I guess he just steals things from Blockbuster. That's what the quotations imply, right?
-
Might as well pick my gimmick account while I'm at it: Tuxedo Kamen/Mask.
-
You are correct. It is also for testing graphics and images, presumably for signature banners.

I was highly amused hearing "You're the Best" in the SFIIHD trailer.
