I'm seventeen so I wouldn't vote. I was just curious, since the main thing I've been hearing is that "conservatives want to eliminate healthcare forever OMG!!!" Healthcare would probably be the most important issue to me, and to have a two tier system is not good. Even if I were to vote, I'm not a socialist and I don't want to throw my vote away. No NDP here thanks

It's not in the summer, but I found the perfect way to pop my concert cherry; the Pixies, November 25th. My favourite band's apparently kickass reunion tour is definitely worth eighteen years of live musical purity.

Explain the whole stealing tax money thing, and the healthcare system fuckup. I've been told that the Conservatives want to take away the whole "universal" from universal healthcare, or something along those lines. I don't remember right now, but remove the propaganda for me.

I don't know why people are so high on Josh Barnett. He has a lot of skills but I think he's unproven since he has rarely beaten top guys. You know the LHW is stacked when Tito Ortiz is at number ten, though I wouldn't place Renato Sobral above him. I'm surprised to see that Heath didn't crack your top ten, there are a few guys on there I'd have dropped down to put him in. -

Van Halen is overrated? Outside of mainstream rock circles? I'm surprised by its inclusion, anyway. I assumed that the three classic rock radio staples that have already appeared on the list—Young, Zeppelin and Floyd—would be the only ones to make a showing. I guess I forgot Hendrix had an album in the 70s. As for albums on 100-61 that I currently own (an actual copy; not including albums I've heard via other people/filesharing), there are eight: 92. Kraftwerk - The Man Machine 89. Devo - Q: Are We Not Men? A: We are Devo! 85. Wire - 154 81. David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars 74. Leonard Cohen - Songs of Love and Hate 71. James Brown - The Payback 66. Big Star - Third/Sister Lovers 65. Neil Young - On the Beach Well, even people who have a decent taste in music that I've come across online seem to praise their debut of all things. It surprises me too. I own: 099: Neil Young After the Gold Rush 095: Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti 081: David Bowie The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders from Mars 074: Leonard Cohen Songs of Love and Hate 070: Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon -

I was just pissed that I saw Van Halen on there. I hate that album and all of its overrated glory. -

Arona wasn't dead weight really, he came up with him (for God knows what reason) sort of like he wanted to continue the choke, as opposed to letting go. It's like he did a sit up while holding the Triangle. Big mistake obviously. He should have kept on beating him down, but meh. There will be a rematch, and I'm glad he showed that he was actually trying to win the fight. It wasn't boring at all. Nice upkicks too. Jackson is gold on commentary, and my avatar is proof of that. Anyone who thought that Fyodor couldn't stay calm in the face of a beating, or that he couldn't take one and hasn't proven it yet should be eating their words now. Unless they're REALLY stubborn. I don't know how else he can prove it, that slam was WORSE than the powerbomb, with about 450 lbs landing on his neck, and he just swept him like it was nothing, and applied the kimura. Beautiful. It's interesting how both his fights against Hammer House fighters had the same dynamic; puts himself in a precarious position, stays calm in face of storm, gets position, applies submission, done. Re: The Hughes Fight; just because it was a uninanimous decision doesn't mean that they didn't think that Hughs won the first round. If you notice, most of the scores were 29-28, meaning they know he lost the first round, but thought he won the fight overall. I thought he was done after the triangle, and with the way he stayed in there I was really impressed with him. I'm laughing at Sylvia now. "I'm the best in the world!" "Mir ain't shit!" "Bring on Fyodor!" "I've never lost so I have no weaknesses!" Okay, that last one was most of his Sherdog Nuthuggers, but the point remains. Everyone should shut the fuck up about him now. He was subbed in thirty seconds by Frank fucking Mir. Arlovski will destroy him since his ground game is much better than Sylvia, as we learned now anyway, and he will pick apart Mir on his feet. Bitchtits can go back to using Cabbage as a punching bag. Seriously, there's so much hypocrisy with this guy I just wanna see him put in the ring with The PRIDE Three. MFS is overrated and he just gave up his arm. Fuck him. He's just a really big guy who uses his size to his advantage. I don't know how he beat Ricco, I haven't seen it, but every time I've seen him the "MAINE-IAC!" has failed to impress. Mediocre standup...and that's it. Is it just me or did they stop the Trigg fight early? I am beginning to think that Noguiera will win the tournament since he will get Ogawa and should get by him easily, while Fyodor will have trouble with Sergei. But with this fight, maybe he can handle fighting both fights in the same night? "All black people look alike." "They all call me Gary Goodridge." "Heath has got some hairy legs." "Heath pull out your shorts man, your ass is showing." "His wife got a big BUTT man, I gotta look after her." -
Has anyone heard this? I know it's not new or relevant or anything, but due to my latest trend of picking up anything that I was too young to appreciate at the time. This album is mind-blowing. I actually like it better than any of Pavement's stuff (coincidentally, it's also much more accessible) and I dig Berman's laid-back, almost as if I'm just talking like Bob Dylan or Leonard Cohen or some other guy like that -type vocals. The opening track of the album is among the best opening tracks that I've ever heard. Hell, the opening line to the CD is one of the best I've heard. It's a perfect record for just driving along the the middle of nowhere through a bunch of cornfields. Yeah, cornfields. It also speaks to me; none of my favourite singers could ever sing either.
-
Every review I read of the album before I got it said that the Silver Jews were just a band you listened to in between Pavement albums, and that this was the album that made it the other way around. That's about the best possible thing to say about it, as this album removed the "side project" label.

It's been picking up steam as of late, as what I thought was just gonna be some small time independant blip on the radar, it's been advertised on TV often from what I can tell, and many other people who would have never heard of it otherwise seem to be talking about it. The fact that Roger Ebert gave it ***1/2 will definitely bring it some attention, whether one likes Ebert or not, and I most of the time don't. The fact is though, that perhaps the most well known standard for movie critiques would be "Two Thumbs Up". I was looking forward to seeing it before, but now I am even moreso. For those who don't know, the movie is about a teen girl who gets pregnant at a Christian High School, and the ensuing chaos when all the fundamentalist students try to "Save" her, the leader being Mandy Moore (Yes I know it's a Mandy Moore flick). Still, the movie looks pretty funny. The only thing I'm worried about is that the ending may be too predictable, judging by what all other movies made in a similar mold would tell you, but seeing as how I haven't seen it, I guess I can't say anything. Useless fact: The movie was produced by Michael Stipe.

While I don't agree with anything else Mike has said, the fact that monkey was used isn't necessarily racial. It's such a broad term, that it's not specifically used for racism, like the N-Bomb. I like crackers.

You missed my moral relativism comment on the first page, although it was much more subtle and such.

So...which side are the extremeists again? CWM, you are officially a fucking moron. You seem to miss one key distinction --- THE MONKEYS ARE TARGETING CIVILIANS. They are --- just like their brethren in Palestine --- not targeting the military, but INNOCENT CIVILIANS. Their GOAL is fucking anarchy and a life of hell for their fellow Muslims. If there was a time for righteous fucking anger --- this is it. If the Middle East won't take this problem seriously ---WE FUCKING BETTER. Do you think they will hesitate, for ONE MOMENT, to use nukes should they manage to get their grubby paws on them? -=Mike Marney advocated the nuking of the entire country. It would be wise to assume that there are civilians in the country, innocent ones at that. You're saying monkeys target civilians. Put two and two together and... Basically, he was accusing her of the same mindset as them, to kill a bunch of innocent civilians, and that they were both extreme in that line of thinking. You chose to ignore that and call him a moron because you're a biased tool. Thanks. OMGDRURYZINVADDCEEEEEE~!!!!!

Two questions: 1) What's Bloomsday? and 2) How did the girl respond? I sympathize with her, how is she supposed to know about that, and why does the guy just have to bring it up to her since (I'm guessing) he probably doesnt know her? My philosophy teacher's grandfather used to party with Ernest Hemingway, among a few other big name literary giants. He used to throw parties all the time. I don't remember all the names, that's the only one that sticks out.

My hair is never really well-kept. It grows out like a football helmet, perfectly unwaveringly straight, and resembles those spikes on a porcupine. I then shave it. This goes on for another five months, then I shave it. Now though, it's pretty bushy and I've just decided to leave it alone and see what happens. I am thinking about dying it red, but I hesitate because I don't want to be associated with all the other punks that dye their hair like every week.

Arona is a much better grappler than QUinton, and easily has the better submissions. The only reason Quinton wasn't caught against Murilo was because he was able to power his way out. That's not happening when the other guy is stronger than you, and he didn't get taken down by Randleman because he ended the fight early with some solid strikes. Arona is better on his feet than Randleman (at least at the time of that fight), so I see this going to the ground early and often. Arona by submission in Round 3. No decision. It's accepted that he will outstrike Kharitanov, but on the ground I wouldn't count him out, since he has only been submitted from what I remember by Barnett and Nog, no slouches themselves. This is my upset pick of course, because it's just such an easy pick for Kharitanov to beat him down on the ground, but for some reason I think most are underestimating how good Schilt really is. I wouldn't be surprised to see Yoshida KO'ed really. I don't think people are giving Hunt a puncher's chance. Silva would also have an easy time KO'ing a guy who has said that he "doesn't like to get hit in the face". Baroni's cardio has improved vastly from what I'm told, since he has shed a lot of weight. He's walking into the fight about fifteen pounds lighter than usual, and working with Enson for like eight months couldn't have hurt. People also forget his All-American wrestling credentials. And his hands, well, his hands. Everybody click the link for the Matt Lindland-made Baroni video. You won't be disappointed. Hughes is angry, and his training for the last fight was all out of whack, which explains his tentativeness in the cage. I expect him to come out like a caged beast in this one. Verrissimo looked impressive against Newton, but Newton wasn't himself in that fight either. Hughes' ground and pound vs. Verrissimo's Slap and pound? The choice is easy. -

When I first started reading this, I thought Quinton had got all serious and was like that's cool, he's trying to make a difference and shit. But when I read the last paragraph I was dying. Courtesy of MMAWeekly: -

The PPV's are tomorrow and Sunday. I think that we should have a tad more discussion. BTT is going 2-0 this Sunday, wh00t! Schilt will show that Kharitanov has been over-hyped to the nth degree. The Japanese will go 2-1, as opposed to the clean sweep that everyone expects. But who will be the fallen one? TUNE INTO NITRO, I mean CRITICAL COUNTDOWN TO FIND OUT. Baroni will destroy Tanner, and I believe that Hughes will do the same to Verrissimo. Well, those are my 'bold' predictions. Anybody disagree? -
I thought he was a lot bigger too, since he mentioned how he was built like a boxer or something like that. His picture scares me too, I don't know why: Fake edit; heh, just noticed AlfDogg's picture. Real Edit: Made sure that the picture worked, so people would see that AoO is really that guy from all of those movies, whose I name I found out is Matthew Lilard.

I notice that most people who seem to not mind about the "abuse" thing use moral relativism as the basis for how they feel. Ah well. How are we supposed to stop these people from doing this is my question, since it's happened twice before and the odds of them doing it again are great based upon that.
