Agreed. My favourite halftime show. That I can remember anyways. I guess that shows how bad most of the other ones were.

I thought it's live, how can they decide to show a fight or not depending on how good it is? -

Apparently they're not showing Karo either, which certainly is disappointing. -
Pride 27 Card ANNOUNCED
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in General Wrestling
Screw you guys, this card has "Freak Show" all over it. I can't wait to watch this, with plenty of sick knockouts and all. They can't have their top guys fighting each other on every card anyway, as that's the sort of "Even steven" booking that messed up the WWF. You need a Saturday Night's Main Event in there somewhere -
Why wouldn't that go over well? Hell, those either seem like bird courses, if they're even real subjects at all. Teaching Apprenticeship? EDIT: I'm in high school. I have two exams on Friday and two on Monday, for my senior year and I can't fuck it up or I won't get accepted into U of T, which has pretty high standards. Yay.

7 Teens Killed During Police Car Chase
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
You ARE tall. I thought I was about average height at 5'10 or '11, but I guess I am short by the board's standards. Being 17, I might grow a little taller, but that's doubtful. -

I don't think we should trivialize these situations by comparing it to other possibilities. I didn't know that there was a scale of "tragicality". Is 9/11 not as tragic as the earthquake in Iran that happened recently because 3000 people died as opposed to 40 000, in addition to the countless people that lost their homes and the like? Obviously not, they're both horrible, and we shouldn't look at either as less important. It's odd how little coverage the Earthquake got. I don't even remember seeing a thread about it on this board. Could be wrong though. -
wow....that is sad Since he's discussed them on end before, I'm fairly sure that he was being sarcastic. I didn't think that one needed to be explained, but I guess you had to get in a crack to feel good about yourself. He's not an idiot, even if he did NOT know who the Pixies were, he would've searched on Google or something. easy buddy...i didnt mean to hurt anybodys feelings. i was responding to the quote, not the poster....and i know that the pixies arent really that popular anyway. calm down. Eh, whatever. I'm just disappointed that I live all the way in Toronto. There are going to be countless other indie bands that will be playing with The Pixies and Radiohead. I would still like to go, but I don't know anyone else that's willing to go all the way down to California.

I'm not being lenient, as I actually think that they brought their death upon themselves. It doesn't make it any less tragic though. -

No, I do too, but mainly because I know how much it sucks to lose friends and loved ones in car wrecks. Personally, I'd be thankful if I didn't know that, instead of dancing on a 14 year old's grave because he got in the back seat of a car with a bunch of other kids. I suppose lofty jackoffs like Anglesault will be favoring Saudi Arabian law next, where thieves get their hands chopped off, and a DUI equals a bullet in the head from the cop on the scene. God forbid someone like you ever does anything wrong, right? I'm beginning to think that the recurring theme on this board is that once you do something wrong, you are lesser of a human being and therefore don't deserve the same rights. In some cases, like Saddam Hussein, this is justified. Hell, if I was one of the soldiers I would have shot him in the face. In others, like a bunch of kids stealing a car, it just doesn't seem right. It is sad, but most people here are happy that they crashed. In fact, I'm sure that they would have rather had them crash and burn as opposed to, you know, just getting caught and getting another chance at life. Interestingly enough, some of the things said here are pretty dastardly in and of themselves. I'm just curious; how many of you think that Ed Norton was justified in curbing that guy for stealing his car? I mean GTA deserves to get someone killed, and they probably would have endangered someone's lives while driving off, so... -

Even if the Belfort-Couture fight doesn't happen, this card is still downright Godly. -
1) "Kid" never had any dignity, 2) and even if he did have dignity, he would've lost it by fucking Hepatitis B Victim Number Three. 2) He is a talentless piece of trash and 3) doesn't deserve to shine the shoes of one of the best hip hop producers of the nineties. (Admittedly not a fan anymore, but he's got precedent. What does Kid Rock have?) A man who started from the bottom up, by washing cars for his boss and getting him food(much like what he did to the other ungrateful bastards on the show) or some fuck who got his break by impersonating Vanilla Ice? P Diddy please. Janet Jackson, while I'm not a fan of her music anymore, has a much better voice and has created way better songs in the past than Kid Rock. Aerosmith does suck however. Bring on Bon Jovi~!

7 Teens Killed During Police Car Chase
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
They made their own bed. This is all true, but it's still a tragedy to die young. Maybe it wasn't a tragedy that they crashed in a car, but that they chose to do it in the first place. I don't know, it might be stupid, but people shouldn't die for being stupid. As funny as the jokes on the board may be, it still sucks to see someone die so young. But I'm not going to bother arguing. -

That "dude" in the front totally negates the "blackness" of whatever might be said thereafter haw haw. So am I the only one who shows some semblance of sympathy for the deceased? -

Point is the fight is ruined. Either he doesn't fight (although he has said he will), or he does fight but his mind is elsewhere. I mean, this is not a problem that is resolved. He doesn't know what's happened to her. There is no closure. I don't want the fight to happen at this point. I know I wouldn't fight. -
Remember when you were pissing on Eddie AS Yes. And he deserved it. He's at least tried to redeem himself. When did he deserve the pissing on? Is it because of the drug thing, because if it is then he hasn't tried to redeem himself, he HAS redeemed himself.

I didn't read through the entire thing, as I just skimmed through to see if you had mentioned something that would have a huge impact on the fight. Don't you think that this is important? EDIT: I didn't give a direct link, and the quote was too long. Here you go. -
I was actually gonna post the exact same thing you did. There's not much purpose in posting one of these things where the option picked is pretty much picked by everyone. I mean really, I've never met one person who has said that Illmatic wasn't his best album. Everything he's done since has been compared to it.

49ers QB Jeff Garcia arrested for drunk driving
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to OldSchoolWrestling's topic in Sports
He saved sex for marriage and didn't do it till he was thirty. True story. Bobby Whioux's post on how he knows that other people are gay is a little too long for me to think that he has gained all of this information from mere observance. A little experimentation had to be involved....... -

I meant to say that you were posting as you were playing....or were you? I understood. I was feigning ignorance for my own amusement. Ho ho. And yes, they've computers in the station. With the internet, even. Sometimes I look up porn whilst playing my pretentious indie rock. Maybe you could find some pretentious indie porn as well. "The Socratic Method Displayed in Erotic Form." The Socratic Method crap sounds like Pretentious Metal more than Indie, as it has an "Epic saga" feel to it. It seems to try to sound important and take itself seriously without the trademark humour you'd expect from indie music. Besides, much metal constantly makes references to fantasy and the like, and lots of fantasy seem to remind me of Ancient Greece. That's the way I see it, unless the Socratic method is some vague reference to some album. If you just made it up, then yeah, metal. "Big Scenes about Fucking" would seem more appropriate. To Inc: You should take the next step and play porn on the air. -
I will tell you this much. Doing an English Project, I interviewed my philosophy teacher who is the President of the Catholic Scholars of Canada or some other such association. This was awhile back. I was interviewing him because it was just to break down a few stereotypes that people would have about a religion/philosophy teacher. If I could say that I knew a "Man of God' this guy would be it. So to eradicate that stereotype about being passive, he justified going to war in Iraq, not an opinion that many "Catholic Scholars" would have. I'm about to leave when he says something to this effect: "Hey, if someone pulls a knife on you, there's nothing wrong with taking out your Colt .45. You don't *want* to kill him, but if you have to then it's not murder." I don't know how that might apply to some, but I figure that when compared to most ethical standards and the like that this sort of thing appears to be justified, I see nothing wrong. He was robbed at gunpoint. His life was at danger. End of story.
