Thomas More Law Centre (Not your traditional news source) _____________________________________________________________________________ This seemed interesting to me, and some call it the "liberal double standard". It's complicated in that we think that Homosexuals should be given equal rights, that their identity shouldn't even be questioned, etc. But then many people feel that the Catholic school is within it's rights to express it's own view on the matter. It reminds me of the guy who wanted to take his boyfriend to the prom at a Catholic school. What do you all think of this?

Ah, but if you're a WRITER, you're magically exempt from the "This person has NO right to talk about this!" clause that applies to actors, singers, and so on. That's because writers are generally, well, intelligent. Many actors are too, but as most of them are liberal they wouldn't do too well 'round these parts. I'm sure Alan Ball wouldn't get as much slack as say, Kevin Spacey. Of course that's not always true, but it's an accurate generalization. Singers are the worst though, because they make a living off of speaking for angst-ridden teenagers, particularly rock stars. Mos Def has a lot to say, but is anyone willing to listen? Eh, he'd probably get bashed too, but at least I wouldn't hear the same crap about how we should all be anarchists and shit.

I'm going to university next year, but I don't know what to expect. I'm still undecided, but the fact that I've never really been challenged all that much is what's intimidating me right now. I'm bracing myself for a steep dropoff as far as grades are concerned. I didn't even get into the social aspect of Uni. My two choices right now are Chemical Engineering (Most other types bore me) and Human Biology:Health and Disease. I'd *really* like to go into Human Biology, get my B.Sc and go to Med School, but it's at U of T, a school where apparently their Undergrad Science program is more difficult than most Ivy League schools in the US. Of course, I'd never live with myself if I pussied out and never took the chance. If I get through it with the high average recommended, I can get through anything. If not, I drop out and work at McDonalds. Engineering would be so much easier, but that's not where my passion lies, so fuck it.

Public Schools Cannot Discriminate....
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Your Paragon of Virtue's topic in Current Events
I have a question for SpiderPoet; why is it that only some Catholics are saved, and not others, and what will happen to these "unsaved" Catholics? How do they know of their "unsavedness"? Legitimate questions. -
I think we're suppose to assume that has no effect on the question. And it doesn't. Two objects dropped from the same height will accelerate through the air at the same speed - 10 m/s/s. You're both sort of correct. The velocity of the ball will be greater, due to a variety of factors, including it's mass, air resistance, etc. Acceleration may not be 9.8 m/s/s. I believe for this question you should assume that air resistance is negligible however. We never did this stuff in Physics 11 either, but now I'm in Physics 12 and they just dumped all this proj. motion shit on us. It's okay though, it and the rest of the curriculum is fairly simple, since it involves no memory or hard work whatsoever. As for what she asked, it is actually considered a basic question, as it states that the projectile is fired horizontally, as opposed to being fired at an angle. Odds are the back of the book is wrong, as CC seemed to use the equations of motion pretty well. And by CC, I mean CanadianChris.

I just wanted to show that the reaction that was predicted from the left -- basically, "OMG WHERE IS BIN LADEN~!??!!? TEH PREZIDENT IS TEH SUX0RZ LOL2K3~!!!!!1!!!1!!1!" -- is the one that we're actually getting. Like I said, it's nothing unexpected, but it might get some more discussion going here, so I used it. BTW, Eric's not a moron. I disagree with almost everything he says politically, but he's no fool. Just out of curiousity, what exactly makes you think that he isn't a moron? Not saying that he is, I just got that he's a very bitter dude. EDIT: The second part I posted was in the wrong thread. My bad.

That's weird. Why would Fedor and Cro Cop want to leave PRIDE all of a sudden?
-
Now is doing that gonna pay your bills?
-
I think a better title would be that CAN face off, since most of the time like someone pointed out they are in the same division. Bills-Dolphins and Broncos-Cheifs are pretty big ones from recent past. Pale in comparison to the other ones mentioned though.

Taking 'Christmas' Out of Holiday Jingles
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to MrRant's topic in Current Events
Hey now, I'm a Roman Catholic too(although my personal beliefs these days are more non-denominational), and I fit all those descriptions...except for the white guy thing. I guess I must have it easy. I also agree with the KKK, about boys... I mean Anti-Christian groups being more annoying than fundies. I mean I hate most Fundies, but most of them at least try to be polite and such, while the atheistic left tries to exaggerate to the Nth degree about everything and in turn piss me off so much more. -
New Trial for Wrestling Murder
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
And if this little thug gets out of jail and kills somebody --- how many of the current people who think he shouldn't be in jail for life will wonder how we could have missed so many red flags about the kid? Some people are just, plain, bad. This little turd is one of them, alas. -=Mike I think it's more then simply being a thug. He seems sadistic and scary as all hell. I mean, I can just imagine the guy beating her to death as she's screaming for help. That's WORSE than being a thug. It scares me really, that people can be that cold-blooded. Regardless, I believe that he shouldn't be in prison for the rest of his entire life, as I'm sure there is a chance for rehabilitation. I'm even more sure that most of you disagree with me. Of course, if he does get life, I won't put up a fuss. Everyone has the ability to change, but once you cross a certain line, there's no going back. This kid crossed it. Oh yeah, I also agree that the mom should be put in jail as well. -

I would disagree, but I don't want to steer this topic in the wrong direction....... -

New Trial for Wrestling Murder
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
After reading another thread, do all of you really think he should rot in jail for the rest of his life? I know what he did was horrible, and while normally I don't think there's a chance, since he was only 13 when it happened I'm sure that there's a chance for rehabilitation. Or maybe not. He's probably sorry that he's going to jail for the rest of his life, and not that he killed an innocent little girl. But I don't really know for sure. -
For those of us that don't know how to use MIRC?

I don't understand this logic, which seems to place some blame on Dan's part. They were going to fire him at the end of the season, making the rest of this season futile. What's the ponit of coaching when you won't be back? He did what anybody would do, as it's retarded to say we're going to fire you at the end of the season, but just coach the rest of the games we have left. Sure, that happens a lot in the NFL, but to actually TELL the person that they'll be fired at the end is stupid. I mean, Gregg Williams would be called a quitter if he left now, even though he knows he will be fired at the end of the season. If Tom Donahoe told he would be fired, I could understand why he'd want to leave now. I was watching PTI, and Tony Kornheiser said something interesting, something like how if the Falcons won all the games that they had left then Blank wouldn't be able to fire Reeves without some backlash. Doing it now means that Reeves doesn't have the excuse of Vick not being there. Maybe it's a little too conspiracy theory-ish for some, but I wouldn't be surprised. Wade Phillips? Ugh..... For some reason, remembering Phillips' regime here in Buffalo, it brought back a certain memory. Anyone remember Carl Mauck? He was so popular he got a slot on the opening video package to NFL Primetime.

Going over the Sherdog MB they're talking about how Fedor, Cro Cop and Barnett are signing with Inoki or something, and how they're never going to fight in Pride again. Now I have two questions; isn't Inoki involved in the business side somehow with PRIDE, and are the people at Sherdog really that stupid?

Rudimar doesn't look that old himself, and I wonder how much he takes from the big stars, like Wand. Is there anyway at all to see this show? I know it's not on Directv but anyway? I mean they're just crazy, who puts a show like this on New Year's Eve? Or maybe I'm just conditioned to expecting crap like Rikishi wishing me to have a safe holiday. Fucker.

I don't understand; wouldn't it be the mother's decision if it was her life that was in danger, or am I misunderstanding you? From the sounds of it, you seem to be criticizing those who are pro-choice, as they can't simply take the life of a child away just like that, but than I get the impression that you are talking about having the burden of raising a child, which would be a knock against the Pro-life people. Colour me confused, if there was such a colour.

Remember when the Bills won a Super Bowl? I wish I could too.

"Been there, done that." Unless you were talking about Gore supporting Dean, than I wouldn't know. The "Gore supporting Dean" thing. Lieby: "Hey, Al, remember 2000, when I was you running mate?" Oh, I was just joking about how Joe and Al had, with the kissing, and the fact that he shrugged it off as being no big deal so he must have gotten a lot farther and....oh never mind. Bad joke.

PC and Canadian Alliance to Merge
Your Paragon of Virtue replied to Kahran Ramsus's topic in Current Events
Yes, but without the merger I could guarantee that they would win the next ten elections. This, if done right, prevents such a monopoly. The basis of our government is that the ruling party has to be held accountable to someone (ie. the people). This was never going to happen with a split right, and our government was essentially a dictatorship as a result. Just like the WWF was at its best when WCW was challenging it, democracy works best when there is an alternative. Wrestling analogies, gotta love it. By the way, why did the apparent stranglehold that Mulroney's Tories have in the early nineties all of a sudden give way to the current Liberal domination we got going on now? Also, I don't think it's such a bad thing if the Liberals get voted in for the next ten years....as long as they don't do a shitty job with it. I really don't know much about this stuff, since I was only seven when Jean Chretien was elected in that shellacking of Kim Campbell, who really shouldn't be called the "First Female Prime Minister" since she wasn't even voted in, and didn't even do anything. On top of all that, for those that remember, that was also the same night that this happened: But come on people; I wasn't the only one. We were all watching Joe and not Jean. Admit it. Maybe we should have been watching. Who knows, can all the apparent "problems" that Qu'ran is referring to been prevented had the Jays not made it that far? -

Whatever happened to the cool anime, like Akira, where people just fucked with the wrong dude and got their ass handed to them for it? That's way better than all the stuff they got going on now. But maybe I just "don't get it". -
