Agreed, Pinkerton and The Blue Album are pretty much the pinnacle of Power-pop, and I think their charm comes in the fact that I can never overplay them. Of course, given the amount of praise that power-pop would get for indie fans, I'm always wondering whether some small-time band out of some other small city in Wisconsin might be better. I don't know as much about Indie music as I'd like anyway, no money+no availablity online= no music
-
Fair enough, but do they have any albums worth getting or downloading? This is power-pop right? Any *edit* other bands in the same vein *edit* worth downloading?

At least you retracted your statements about Tillman, and for the record, I never demeaned anything that McCartney has done, just Nanks by calling him a jackass. He's since stopped acting like a jackass, so I'll say that he's no longer a jackass. But I don't know him in real life so I don't know shit. Have a nice day.

Texas sodomy ruling likely to ruffle feathers

For the record, I don't think it's wrong, but even if one believed that it were, they shouldn't force them to have a lack of rights, such as marriage which was sanctioned in Toronto a few days ago actually. -
He was also a professional bodybuilder. Personally, I think he's natural, but I thought it was common knowledge that all bodybuilders were on the juice? Maybe I'm wrong. I don't care if a wrestler is on roids, as long as he can work. EDDIE~! and Benoit can work, Steiner and HHH can't. Steroid use is irrelevant.

You're an angry young fella.

To touch on what Jingus had said, I think that the fact that you have better technology means that you should have higher standards, and that you will be judged more harshly. Take Battlefield Earth, what, they spend 100 million on that? You can't compare it with something like Fu-Bar(which isn't that bad, but just using it). But than to prove your point, that goes for hated not worst. I have added nothing.

I thought Marney *was* a Christian, and I also think that Joan of Arc is a fraud and a fucking psychopath to boot. Being a Christian, I take more of a humanistic approach towards things. No matter how unnatural homosexuality is, that doesn't mean that I will condemn them. All sin is equal after all. Even with abortion, I think it's wrong, but I gots no evidence, so I can't prove it. Just thought I'd chime in o-- YEAH WHATEVA~! -
I wasn't using the site as the source, look all over and you can find that specific article. SHE DOESN'T WRITE FOR THE WEBSITE! Did you get that through yet? Good, now read it what it says after the article to find it's origin. The Washington Post is cited in there, as is Time Magazine. The whole situation is documented on BBC if you care enough to look. But, I guess none of that matters, because that one HOST site is all you care to look at. I don't care if that specific site is communist, but the story is legit. The HOST is irrelevant. You obviously ignored the part where I said to look it up on other websites as well though right? I'm sure if I had that copy of Time Magazine handy you STILL wouldn't listen, so I guess it's pointless to bother trying with you. The numbers were actually closer to the 50-50 range, and what else would you expect the public to do when all they're being fed is Pro-War In Iraq(notice not Pro-War ) propaganda? You have to take that into account. Hmmm, all countries that weren't subject to only the US Media generally had polls that were predominantly AGAINST the war. How about that? Replace restuarant with Golf Club and that point still stands. As for the cotton picking part, I think you'd have to clarify on whether or not you were implying that there are traces of slavery(which there most definitely are NOT) or racism and discrimination. EDIT: Just got rid of some name-calling here and there.
-
I seem to recall you telling me to shut my mouth so people wouldn't know that I was an idiot, after I mentioned that I felt the US Media was spewing propaganda about being for the war in Iraq(Which I believe it was, but that's another argument). But hey, if Fox News is what you prefer over those crazy Lefty conspiracy experts over at TIME magazine, than I suggest you heed your own advice.

Don't have time to leave a long reply now, but I will state that it's obvious that the site would be more slanted towards the left if they posted an article about that, as a right-wing site would never have posted it at all, thus explaining why you would've never heard of it. Regardless of bias, the facts are there; Iraqi troops were withdrawing, and were massacred regardless. Again, I don't have time, but I'm sure you can look elsewhere.

Yet another ridiculous George W. Bush moment

I personally like Jon Stewart, although it's not in the same format. -

Anyways, in reference to what I was saying before, most people have only seen Spirited Away it seems. What are your opinions about Spirit, Stallion of the Cimmauron or something like that? I thought it was pretty enjoyable, traditional American flick. Did anyone here actually see Biker Boyz? 2Fast2Furious? -
I admit that America shouldn't save everyone, since it's not their job. Who's to say that they should step in to solve all of the rest of the countries' problems. BUT, that sort of ruins your credibility when you cite one of the reasons for war to liberate their people. Explain to me your stance on the Rwanda situation, and how you guys would be torn internationally. No sarcasm, I'm really curious. The Highway of Death was one of the most disturbing war crimes in contemporary history. I honestly thought you were being sarcastic, or perhaps just didn't refer to it by that name. Who knows, maybe you are being sarcastic. Regardless, here's a helpful link: http://www.deoxy.org/wc/wc-death.htm Just search all over the net, and you could find info on this. Here's one with a pretty famous picture. It's disturbing, so click at your own risk. http://www.deoxy.org/wc/warcrime.htm I don't know about you, but after something like that, I sure as hell would NOT trust the US to liberate my people.
-
While I must admit that those are good personal reasons, I find it hard to believe that George Bush really had it in his heart to save the Iraqi people. I mean, what about the whole Rwanda situation? Another point is that if I am correct didn't Reagan put this guy into power in the first place? True, they could easily feel that they made a mistake and decide to take him out, but I highly doubt the sincerity of that belief. As for the good of the Iraqi people, I doubt they'd be more in favour of the US than Saddam, with the whole lesser of two evils thing. Saddam is a terrible man, but taking him out won't change their feelings about you, especially after an incident like "The Highway of Death". People don't forget something like that.
-
Okay, this is obviously a little late, but I'm wondering what were everyone's justifications for this war? Freedom of the Iraqi people, Oil, removal of Saddam, whatever. I'm just curious as to what everyone believes the reasons were to go to war, and what you think of the aftermath....

I don't demean you, you really *do* come off as a jackass, by basically insulting a man who gave up a MULTIMILLION DOLLAR salary to join in the Marines and serve his country, a belief which he believes in, even if you don't. "You're just bloody stupid." You're one to talk about insulting other people though eh? Being a professional athlete involves more fame and fortune than being an American Soldier does. Sure, you get all sorts of people saying I wish I had the courage of these guys, blah blah blah, but that's it. We don't look at them as heroes, we look at the fact that Jason Taylor says they're heroes. They don't get any recognition. I've been waiting to hear an update on Tillman, yet I haven't. Perhaps because he's not a star athlete? Admittedly, if a story like McCartney happened in the US, they'd be all over it like the second coming of Jesus. Still, this is a different story, and don't talk through your ass about a story that you haven't even heard of. I also love how you didn't address ANY of my points. Typical of you to whine about how we're all wrong rather than explaining WHY we're all wrong...
-
And on top of all that, Tillman didn't get alot of coverage, he got maybe half a segment on NFL Countdown from what I remember. Besides, I personally think that someone sacrificing a multimillion dollar salary (He is that DAMN good) in favour of defending their beliefs and the rights of many is much more honourable than being paid to come back from injury (No matter how severe) only to play a sport again. Care to disagree?
-
I love how you completely disrespect Tillman by calling him a "Roid monkey", while bombarding us with ignorant political beliefs. Who cares what I think of McCartney, I think that you sound like a complete jackass. Seriously, how can you expect people to respect your opinions when you generally whine whenever people disagree with you? Grow up. By the way, I don't know of many Ironman participants that are juicing it up, do you?

I hope Arona enters the GP, just because I'm a big fan of Hicardo. I swear though, I think I'm only a fan because of his GREAT promo before his match with Ninja. It dripped with greatness. Dripped. Where is El Minotauro when you need him? I think he's still pissed off, and can't wait to see him gain revenge at his next PRIDE event, which will no likely be against Akira Shoji or something. When watching Neo fight all the Mr. Smiths, I actually DID think it looked terrible. I swear MMA has made me see action movies in a whole new light. I think there's money for either Cro-Cop or Fedor to be great Bond villains someday, and hey, that could be in the contract for their next fight...

Heh, nah, just to posters in general, about my earlier reply asking what the US would do about all the WMDs in North Korea, and what they would do as well. Your opinion is valued, and welcome

I loved the original Batman movie, but in truth, I'm not a big Superhero comic book fan, so perhaps you're right. I think the Matrix was trying to take itself too seriously, as I was referring to all the "philosophical" discussion. The Pre-determination thing is pretty interesting I must admit, and that puts the movie in the "good" range for me. The Car Chase scene also happened to be the greatest Car Chase scene ever, but maybe that's just me. -

For the longest time when you guys said Spirited Away and said it was an animated film, I thought you were talking about that horse movie, with Matt Damon. Ahh well, both were pretty damn good in my eyes. I'd assume that nothing is worse than Biker BoyZ, although I haven't seen it. I personally disliked Spiderman, hated Daredevil, and again disliked X2. Honest to God I don't know why, if someone can explain why they liked it as much as they seemed to, I'd like to hear it, since I didn't want to leave the theater hating these movies, but I did anyway. Matrix Revolutions was alright, could've been better without all the pseudo-intellectual discussion being spewed all over the place. -
I don't know, but I'm sure some people get castrated inXPW...
