NFL week twelve: Turkey Day Cliches

It's just depressing to watch the Bills at this point. Aside from Lynch having a fine rookie season, you cannot find anything else positive to say about this team. Injuries or not, the defense is horrific, with receivers being wide open on almost every play. The d-line can't create pressure to save their lives. The offence is just awful. The o-line is actually giving the quarterbacks time to create plays and they don't. Josh Reed not going up to get a catchable ball today for fear of being hit says it all about the effort and commitment. Losman's dismal performance today has probably ended his career as a starter in Buffalo, and although Edwards has shown flashes, I really don't see how he can be that much of an improvement. At this point though, they might as well throw him in for the experience because the playoffs are just not happening.

Here's what the All-Star jerseys are going to look like this year (apologies if they've been posted already): East West

What gets me is that if you lived in the States, most markets get pretty much every game absolutely free. Obviously they know a good number of people up here would pay to see games so they do it. I have Center Ice so I get all the Red Wings games anyway, but even Center Ice has drawbacks, with that being the random games involving Canadian teams they black out.

    NFL WEEK ELEVEN- Proving grounds.

They were in field goal range both times with a sizeable lead. What good is it to go for TD's at that point? If the Bills can't stop them, why not? Why run up the score? It's already a blowout so why pile it on? Are they that proud that they blew away the Bills? It's 4th and a long one. Most coaches in that situation (ie with a huge lead) are probably going to take the points and not the risk Because it is not the job of the offense to stop themselves. Right, it's up to their prick coach. Winning like this is what makes people hate the Patriots. What's wrong with the field goal in those situations? Because the object of the game is to score points and last I checked 7 was a bigger number than 3. Had they turned it over on downs THEN it would have been a bad decision. It's 4th and a long one. Most coaches in that situation (ie with a huge lead) are probably going to take the points and not the risk. Yep. Like I said, I probably would have kicked to avoid the risk too. But the fact is that it worked, and I think given that Buffalo's defence is playing so poorly there wasn't much doubt that they would manage to convert. I don't see where we should second-guess a decision that ended up working. I agree. I just don't see the point of taking that risk for what are pretty much meaningless points. All in all, Buffalo did nothing to help themselves and New England took advantage. Of course now they choose to punt.

That TD sure was necessary. I don't care what you say Patriots fans, you cannot defend that (and neither could the Bills, apparently).

Yeah, this is quite the ass kicking. Hopefully JP can turn into Frank Reich and pull off the miracle but I doubt it.

And he got a shut-out in his first game. I know it's only one game and it was the Kings but still, dumb move by Burke.

Pretty cool that he would do that.

Whatever minute chance the Bills have of winning this week depends on Marshawn Lynch playing, and it's looking like he probably won't so a serious ass kicking is on the horizon.

    NFL week X! DIVISIONAL DESTRUCTION!

Bufallo's offence played like shit most of the day but stepped up when it counted and got the win. Marshawn Lynch is quickly becoming my favorite Bills player.

Yep, that was stupid. I guess I meant it in the context that having the streak end would take some of their confidence away before the New England game so they really need to keep it going, and winning this week is quite obviously the only way to do that.

Buffalo really needs to win this week to continue their winning streak and gain confidence for the Sunday night matchup versus the Pats. I just have this sick feeling though that the Dolphins might win.

NFL WEEK NINE!! All my exes live in Texas.

Wow, Buffalo with another prime time game at home, with yet another chance to end an undefeated season. The BIlls play their best games at home so who knows what could happen (a Pats romp probably but most people thought the Cowboys would do that as well).

Looks like Buffalo is going to win again. Scary to think they could be 6-2.

Being in the building to watch Henrik Zetterberg pot two tonight was a thing of beauty.

As usual, I think Buffalo can win this week. Cincinatti has been pretty mediocre thus far and the Bills usually play well at home. Looks like Losman is starting and I'm kind of glad actually.

I have this feeling that the Oilers will do just that because he's from there and the fact it would piss off Calgary fans quite a bit. Even with Souray, I wouldn't put it past Lowe to do it.

Flames re-sign Kiprusoff I really don't see how they keep Phaneuf after this, and Langkow and Huselius might be tough as well. Still, media here thought it would be hard to lock up Iginla, Kiprusoff and Regehr long term so the fact that they got all three is surprising.

Hey, What's New In Baltimore? NFL Ravens Week 8 Thread

Just when you think Losman is done, he comes in for an injured Edwards and throws an absolute bomb to Lee Evans to lock up a Bills victory.

Very good game from the Red Wings tonight and Zetterberg keeps his point streak going.

Hasek's out but it might be a blessing in disguise as Osgood is by far the better goaltender at this point.
