Seriously, the Flames are just getting out of hand now.
-
Whatever, the fact is there was NO need for that at all. Playoffs or not, that was ridiculous.
-
WHAT THE FUCK. Seriously, utterly classless move by the Flames. Playfair and McClennan both deserve HUGE fines and even suspensions for that shit.
-
Just domination right now by Detroit. Calgary has had PLENTY of chances to stay in it but the special teams are finally producing and Hasek has been superb. Just hang on boys, keep it simple and avoid mistakes. It will be extremely tough to win tomorrow but I hope they can find a way.
-
Game six is on at 9 PM eastern.

Jesus Christ, angry rant but anyway: -What the fuck is going on with the Wings' special teams? -The even strength game at this point is an absolute joke, yet the Flames are still in it. -Where has the first line been the last two games? -Why have the last three playoff games I've been too ended in the exact same score? Seriously, the only positives from tonight were Lang and Bertuzzi stepping up. If the Wings don't win Saturday, it is over.
-
Either of them would be fine, but lately Lang has had some unbelievable chances that he should have buried and didn't. Hudler had points in his first two games so you might as well use someone who's actually producing. I also don't like Bertuzzi being on the fourth line, as that line was working just fine until he was put on it. It was only one game, but if that line goes cold, Bertuzzi should be taken off it.

Very frustrating game tonight, and being there live made it even worse. The Wings better take this as a wake-up call and bury the Flames on Thursday. Of course, since the Flames are at home, I'm not holding my breath. I agree 100 percent. Lang has been shit for a while and it's really starting to piss me off.

Detroit had another dominating performance. The Flames have not scored an even strength goal, have been outshot almost three to one and even the goals they get are pretty dirty. If the Wings can split the next two (which won't be easy), the series is pretty much over.
-
Really can't ask for a better start from the Wings. Had it not been for Kiprusoff, it could have been at least 6-1. I hope they can keep the pressure on and prevent the Flames from getting the split.

Wow. Buffalo actually gets a Monday night game, in Buffalo no less. You act like football on Monday night is still a special thing. ESPN still has their old Sunday Night Football schedule, only moved to Mondays. You're right. I guess I meant it in the context that it was surprising to see the Bills have a national broadcast, which is quite rare these days.

Very good news, as I figured he was most likely gone for free agency.

I don't blame Babcock at all, but we all know who will take the fall when a good team underachieves in the playoffs. If the Wings do get knocked out again in the first, Babcock probably doesn't have a lot of time left in Detroit.
-
There is a way, and it's called winning another President's Trophy but getting knocked out in the first round again. Babcock's a good coach and he got the Ducks there, so I could see Detroit firing him if he can't get a better team there.
-
Well, Detroit sure blew it tonight. Got a point anyway but giving up a three goal lead is brutal.
-
This is the thing though. The Wings can string together wins against the elite but they somehow piss it away against inferior teams. Watch them beat Dallas tomorrow and then lose against Chicago and Columbus next week. Don't get me wrong, they can't beat the lower teams everytime but it seems like all the momentum they gain from games like tonight disapears thanks to a lacklustre loss. I love my team and all but the erratic play makes me scared come playoff time.

Souray plus-minus= -22 Lidstrom plus-minus= +36 Souray may put up ridiculous numbers, but he's a pretty shoddy defender. Hardcore Wings fan or not, Lidstrom is getting it. As for the Hart, Luongo should get it but Crosby will, and Luongo should also get the Vezina but Brodeur probably will.

Yep, Locke episodes continue to be the best of the series.

If you could post them, that would be great. I am having that same problem (only scoring runs off of homers) and it's pissing me off. The game in general, actually, is quite frusturating to me. A lot of it probably has to do with the fact I am playing as the Nationals but still. It seems like I can only hold the computer at bay for like three innings and then they get on a ridiculous hot streak that pretty much gives me no chance to win. I have struck out like one batter in the ten games I've played because the computer hits almost everything, no matter where I place the pitches. The opposite is true for me, as Kearns and Zimmerman basically have all my RBI's, all off of homers. Everyone else can get the occasional base hit but nothing sustained. I even adjusted the sliders but it was still happening, so I'd like to see some recommendations for the sliders to make games competitive.

I can't wait for the new season, as it is my favorite show on television. The turmoil that will no doubt arise from what Shane did at the end of season five is going to make for some great drama.

What sucks the most was that the first diagnosis said he'd be back by Friday. It just got even tougher for the Wings to win the Central and the West. He was also on his way to having an MVP type season but that's pretty much ruined now.

Detroit now has incredible depth if Bertuzzi stays healthy and Calder regains form. If Hasek's health holds up as well, we're talking a deep run here.
