Braves/Red Sox "best possible outcome"? In your little corner of the universe maybe. I'm sure Fox and the rest of the media will be blowing their loads over it though. I want Angels/Astros just to see East Coast media shit all over it. The implosion would be hilarious, plus we'd get a lot more football coverage when the networks decide to ignore the WS.

Well, maybe it's Bush's throwaway pick. He might figure that after Roberts got through the Dems are going to bear down on the next nominee. So, he picks a staunch Bush supporter who will either : A) Get through, giving the Republicans another conservative SC justice or B) Get blocked, letting GWB put forth a slightly more moderate nominee which will hopefully satisfy Democrats enough to let them through.

The only thing that is kinda offputting for me is the implied sex between Lana and Clark later in the season. *descends into geekdom* About the Palpatine/Windu fight, I referred back to the written word to see what was said. The novel kind of contradicts itself. It has Windu as being able to counter Palp's lightsaber and lightning due to his use of the Vaapad style of fighting, which uses an opponent's own energy against him to create an impasse until Windu finds and focuses on his opponent's weakness to defeat him. The book goes into Windu feeling Palp's fear and using it against him, only to have Palp declare that it wasn't HIS fear. Whether he meant it was Windu's own fear, Anakin's fear, or if he was just lying the book is unclear. Personally speaking, I'd tend to believe that Windu had Palpatine in trouble and Palp got bailed out by Anakin.

Here's a question for Firefly fans (besides myself, seeing as how I'm asking the question). How much do you think would make for a "successful" opening weekend? They seem to be pushing the movie well in commercials so execs will probably be expecting quite a bit. So, would $20 million be considered acceptable? $30 million? And, as a bonus question, how much do you think it would take before the studio decided "Hey, we should make more of these!"?

Well, this will probably be the only time you'll ever hear me say this but... GO METS! Seeing as how seemingly everyone in the free world wants the Phillies to take the WC for some reason, it'll be funny if one of the Astros traditionally "hated rivals" helps them. And as I have very little faith in the Astros' ability to beat the Cardinals this year, we need every Phils loss we can get.

I can't believe that one of the apparent "showcase" guys of the show got beat by a fill-in. Jason's tougher than hell though. I wonder who Matt's goign to give up next week. Jason got him a huge win, Joe got him the tough challenge victory, and Cummo's just too damn weird to give up. I forget, is there another WW? If there is, he gets my vote.
