Don't get me wrong, I've seen the Fujiwara Armbar and it's a credible finisher. Unfortunately, it's credible in Japan. Here, the armbar is a resthold or transition move, not a finisher. Vince spent so long building up the idea that most finishers are flashy moves particular to one wrestler (except in Hogan's case, seeing as how he's never had the most imaginitive moveset) that something like an armbar elicits little more than a yawn from the mark crowd. He needs something flashier is all I'm saying.

OK so I've gotten a chance to watch Burchill and I must say, they certainly WWEitized him. He lost a little off his middle, grew a beard and his hair, and lost most of his moves. I liked him better when he was a slightly pudgy yet scary looking dude with a buzzcut. Granted, I've never seen a full match of his from England, but the videos showed a standing Shooting Star, a double belly to belly suplex, and a backflip Rock Bottom. So what do they make his finisher? Why, an armbar of course! I couldn't tell though, was it an ARMbar, or an armBAR? Hard to tell between the two. I still say, let him bust out the C4 and he'd get over with the audience. So of course I doubt you'll ever see it. He'll get an initial push, it'll stall since he won't be able to do anything besides generic punch-kick offense, get demoted back to Velocity, then shipped back to OVW or England because he "wasn't ready".

How's everyone done so far

12 team Sportsline league. I'm not too sure about my team (doesn't seem as talented as last year's) that doesn't have a big gamebreaker at WR. Plus, I need a new QB since both mine have the same off week (I was running out of time on my pick and wanted a possible keeper). Anyway: Starters QB- Trent Green RB- Corey Dillon RB- Domanick Davis WR- Darrell Jackson WR- Isaac Bruce WR- Anquan Boldin TE- Eric Johnson K- Ryan Longwell Def/ST- Tampa Bay Reserves QB- Eli Manning RB- Fred Taylor RB- Mewelde Moore (here's hoping Minn. loses another RB) WR- Marty Booker (Damn Peerless Price for getting cut!) WR- Chris Chambers WR- Donte' Stallworth TE- Jeb Putzier (I could've sworn he'd be the Broncos starter) K- John Carney Def/ST- Cincinnati Can keep up to 2. If nothing else, I'll have my RB's set for quite a while. -
Comments that don't warrant a thread

Last I heard, they were still at the "This hollow black box is what the Revloution WILL look like!" I haven't seen any prototypes outside the artists' renderings of the touchscreen controller. -
Yes, Shaolin Soccer was done by Stephen Chow. My first exposure to his work, and it's what hooked me. All in all I likes KFH a bit more though.

Hmm.. Gladiator's the only sure buy. Layer Cake's already out on DVD? Cool. That's probably going to be a pickup too. Oldboy sounds interesting. I don't know about Audition, never heard anything about it and I'm not big on the horror genre.

Honestly though she's been out of the limelight for so long that I wouldn't have recognized her if I hadn't known it was her beforehand. It was basically me turning to my friend and saying "Hey, it's Kimberly! Remember her?" At least Apatow limited her to doing what she does best.

Betty Brant was in the Spider-Man movies? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep, she shows up in several of the Daily Bugle scenes, usually to tell Jameson his wife's on the phone or to kind of flirt with Parker. Kind of hard to tell. Here's a picture of her. Kind of stretched out but it's the best I can find in my exhaustive 5 minute image search.

That replacement looked like he was a pretty big boy.
-
Nice no-shitter there, Dana.
-
20 pounds?! In one day? I'm betting he sweats it off in the steam room, then passes out in the ring.
-
Damn so now they're two heavys down after one show. That sucks.
-
Should I ask what happened to him?
-
So long redneck-y looking guy. We hardly knew ye.
-
Well....This looks like fun. Remind me to put "UFC Training" on my list of things to do on my next vacation.
-
Yeah but Cummo speaks slower which makes him look a lot dumber. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's true. Sounds like he's not quite sure what's going to come out.

OK, Luke's strange, but no stranger than Diego trying to catch lightning last year.

They couldn't even get a heavyweight to coach? Is the division that shallow? Anyone, anyone, Bueller?
-
Heavyweights this year. I hope we don't get a bunch of stiffs who spar at each other for 15 minutes and never break a sweat. I doubt it, but you never know. Edit: One dude's wearing a KILT? He gets my vote, I bet he fights dirtier then hell.

I side with those who like the "evil, dangerous" Angle. He still needs to bring back the Bizarro World black tights though.
-
Boy they didn't waste any time with Angle did they? It's like Heyman's booking, only not as well executed.
-
Geezus Jericho can't get the job done with brass knucks? They're really burying the shit outta Jericho. It's been nice watching you do the best you can with what they give you Chris. See you in a few months.

I remember Austin's "heel turn". Horrible. McMahon breaking up Rock's count and helping with the beatdown getting cheered by the Astrodome, and JR's trying to tell the audience that Austin "sold his soul to the Devil!" Bad build, bad execution, par for the course. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bad build? The whole match was built to the finish, Austin grew more and more desperate as the match went down, He literally broke down everything that he built in himself in order to get what he coveted. The bad execution was the fault of the hometown crowd still cheering for Austin and Austin's weak excuse the next night and aligning him with Hunter. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> By "bad build" I mean the whole thing shouldn't have happened in Austin's "hometown" (close enough). They bet that Rock's popularity would overcome it. I know they feel like they needed to end it with a bang and they couldn't turn Rock (I guess) but there should have been some way around it and turn Austin ANYWHERE but Houston, or Texas in general.

Just have Cena pass out and officially make him Hip-Hop Austin.
