St. Joseph's won't do it. That loss to Xavier, along with the weakness of the A-10, won't give them a #1 seed. And, has there EVER been a more painful half to sit through of basketball than the S. Carolina/Arkansas first round game? The last 7 minutes of the game took nearly AN HOUR to finish as Arkansas was fouling on every single possession. I almost wanted to cry watching that. Well, the Cocks are almost definitely in after dismantling LSU (even after they likely get splattered by Kentucky next round). #1 Seeds: Duke, Kentucky, Stanford, and probably Oklahoma State. -=Mike Please again elaborate about this A-10 weakness? 7 of the 12 teams will get to post-season play which is about par for the course with other conferences. The Big Ten will get three teams. The Pac-10 will get three teams. The A-10 will get three teams. The A-10's conference RPI is higher than the Pac-10's. Sorry I have been to 10 A-10 games in three days, I am bitter.

I'm sure this will not go into committee consideration, but this was pretty much a road game for St. Joe's. But hell give it up for X (a team I despise), shooting over 70% in the game. GW will not roll over for Xavier tomorrow either.

Damn, long day at UD Arena. It appears Xavier is in now. Although I am a diehard UD fan, I wouldn't mind seeing GW beating Dayton in the finals and try to sneak four A-10 teams in the tourney. Also it is interesting to note that the final four teams in the A-10 tournament are all in the A-10 West. I'm telling you 1-7 is decent in the A-10, but the lowest 5 really bring the league down. And currently, Arizona is having problems with USC.

Congrats to Eastern Washington's Big Sky tournament victory and 1st ever NCAA tournament birth. And they're most likely have a date with Stanford as the NCAA usually rewards first timers with the 1-16 matchup.

Woman tries to pass counterfeit $1 million bill
Gert T replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in General Chat
So according to the story her husband gave her three million dollars before he left, and they said chivalry is dead. I like that when they wouldn't accept it, she wanted to break change. -
I think it is the writers being lazy and not wanting to make people mad, "trust us Matt, you lose for six months and, then you'll go on a HUGE winning streak". Then six months from now when Matt comes back to him, he says "Well, we'd push you but no one seems to care anymore."

Amen, Garnett is averaging like 13.5 rebounds per game and it still looks like he isn't even trying to get rebounds. I mean that as a compliment too.

I think Bertuzzi will and should be suspended for the rest of the season and the playoffs. I don't think he should get the full year like McSorley since he used his stick. I do not think he will get charged either. Can the league make it like a 40 game suspension to cover the regular season and then the max amount of games a team could play in the playoffs? Then if there's still 6 or 7 games left to start the beginning of next season.

I'm glad Vitale is not on the committee, on espn.com today Vitale, Bilas, Fraschilla & some other guy had their field of 65 broken down. He had Southern Illinois as a #12 seed, and had Florida State at a #10. My Dad asked a good question, "where did Vitale have Virginia & Clemson?" I think Florida State needs to win one game in the ACC tourney to even be considered. I understand that they went 6-10 in the ACC, but they went 0-8 at home in the ACC, and last time I checked no NCAA games are in Tallahassee.

I think it was back before the Mountain West and WAC split, back when they had an obscene amount of members. I think they won the regular season, but lost in the tournament. Not sure on that though.
-
I would be pretty surprised if Washington does not get in now. As long as they win that first round game (not sure who the #7 seed is) at the very least they either beat Arizona three times in a season or lose in the semi's to a team they've beat twice. I think they're in, but who knows the way things change with these conference tourneys.

I think I made it 42ish hours my freshman or sophmore year in college, paper or test. It's funny maybe I was just getting old at 22 my senior year, but I would try to stay up all night instead of missing class, but I would cash out at about 4-5 for about 2 hours of sleep. Or I just stopped giving a shit about waking up. Choken's right staying occupied is what makes it easy. In college it was always procrastinate until there was only three hours before the paper was due and it was easy to whip out 5-8 pages.

Yeah I think Maryland probably did punch their ticket today. Did anybody see the Florida-UK game today? Was Florida just out of it and not giving a damn enough to play D or is Kentucky really that good at running the floor. That looked like 40 minutes of hell out there today. I'm guessing it was more a result of lazy passes and VERY lazy transition D.

Southwest Missouri State beat Sothern Illinois in the MVC semis today, so the Richmond's, FSU's & Colorado's of the world better bring their 'A' game to the conference tourneys because they just lost one spot.

East Tennessee State beat UT-Chattanooga to win the SoCon tourney. Troy State plays Central Florida in the Atlantic Sun final. High Point is playing Liberty right now in the Big South final. Austin Peay plays Murray State in the OVC final. And Princeton can earn the Ivy leagues' automatic bid with a win tonight.

They also lost Mike Goff to San Diego, and picked up Kim Herring as well. I'm not quite sure if Kim Herring will be as productive as he was during Baltimore's SB run. But as bad as the Bengals secondary was this past year he probably helps. Hopefully they can still retain Rogers Beckett. Artrell Hawkins is an example of the old regime of Cincinnati Bengals management. They picked him in the second round when pretty much everybody projected him as a fifth or sixth round pick. Two seasons ago when he was a FA and Pittsburgh was only interested bringing him in nickel and dime packages. Cincy resigned him because they could not attract many quality FA's.

I've never seen the show before, but was the Sasaki-One Man Gang match before the PPV started or afterwards? I wouldn't be shocked if they did it before, but maybe they didn't want to insult the audience since they were announcing him as the champ during the show. If it was after the show, kind of an anti-climatic way to end the night.
-
Artrell Hawkins was cut by the Bengals yesterday. An era has ended. Artrell Hawkins was the best CB in the league in making tackles after nine yard gains.

I was thinking of goalies fighting and that reminded me of the 97 playoffs when the last 1:48 of the Pittsburgh-Washington series lasted about 40 minutes with all of the fights highlighted by Olaf Kolzig going after Larry Murphy!

If both teams go undefeated that would be great if they met in the finals. That way everybody can take another shot at the BCS!

Here's my question if these 18 states are critical; Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin. Who has the edge on them now? Ohio carries 23-25 electoral votes I believe, and while Bush won easily in 2000, many Ohioans hate Gov. Bob Taft ® so I think Ohio may be close, but I think Bush has the edge right now. However in 1992, Ohio put Clinton into the White House.

I'll take the Bengals to go with the Giants if Choken is not allowed to have them.

That shit was unreal, fortunately we got it as bonus coverage instead of that exciting finish of UCLA-Oregon State. WTF was Stanford doing fouling with 1:40 left and only down by four?! Crazy game and unbeliveable ending. Stanford is losing next week in LA, and if I'm wrong 6 teams from C-USA will go to the NCAA tourney..............
-
I can't believe Harrick Jr. tried to fool those guys by putting 64 and 65 for the "how many teams are in the NCAA Tourney In fairness at my school I took a team & individual sports final that consisted of 10 softball questions: Define a ball Define a strike Name all nine positions How many people play the field in recreation softball? Name the different ways you can get out. There were a few others I do not remember, but the funniest was right before the test, some guy asked the professor if we had to know the difference in distance between the pitcher's mound and home plate in college vs. rec softball. Her response: "There won't be any question that hard."

Well Marquette made it to the Final Four last year, but I do not think C-USA has a team with a dominant player like Dwayne Wade. I think C-USA may surprise some teams in the tourney as most of their teams will be 7-10 so they will be in competitive games. The big games of Illinois at Purdue and Colorado at Iowa State that were to take place yesterday are of course tonight. Damn you espn.com for not updated the schedules for leap day! Anybody here seen Mississippi St. play a lot this season? I have only seen them last night so I can't really say how strong of a final four contender they really are.
