Chiefs - 26 Atlanta Falcons Cleveland Browns Detroit Lions Tennessee Titans Buffalo Bills Kansas City Chiefs New Orleans Saints New York Jets San Francisco 49ers(Lock) Seattle Seahawks Tampa Bay Buccaneers Oakland Raiders Philadelphia Eagles Denver Broncos Minnesota Vikings New York Giants *I hate this week's picks...way too many Road teams picked for me...

...and once the team gets over the Milloy thing and stops whining about him getting cut, since he deserved it, they will be fine. Buffalo just had EVERYTHING in their favor yesterday. Home field, Season opener, Milloy thing, etc. They were destined to win that game anyways, the Pats just made it look worse by not trying. Yet it's only ONE GAME!!! When the Pats lose to the Jets at home in week 3, then you guys can start talking about how shitty they are. Un til that happens, if it does, ya can;t say anything about the rest of their season.

*Prays for Jurevicius injury* Good matchup this week whomever wins Gigante

Riiiight... You will eat those words friend. You think miami will go nowhere because they lost to HOUSTON at home?(embarrassinb) You think the loser of tonight's game will not go0 anywhere? You think the Raiders...wait neverming they definitely aren't goin anywhere. Anyways my point is, one game does not a season make. Last year the Pats made the Steelers and Jets look SILLY in week 1 and 2...then won a shootout with KC. Steelers and Jets both ended up in the playoffs. Pats didn't. in fact the Steelers looked worse than the Pats did yesterday in game 1 last year in Foxboro.

Week 1 means nothing. That is all.

...and THAT is even better! bye Bye Rich Gannon

Terrible Call! But I love it! David Patten should have gotten THAT call earlier today...Might have changed things a tad.

Ravens are even worse than my Pats bro, and that says ALOT. Hey at least the Pats will have 2 top 5 draft picks next year
-
lol, Bills will win the East. Pats finish 2nd with a 7-9 Record Yea Miami and the Jets are STILL worse than this sad ass Patriots team.

Cool Red Sox 2K3 fact: On pace to annihilate the 1927 Yankee's SLG% record... Babe who?

Yea he's got morals alright. Maybe on T.V. Bush and the majority of his party have one interest, and that would be lining the pockets of themselves and their "friends" (i.e. corperations which supported them at Election time.) But what do I know i'm just a moronic sports fan...

I was joking of course...

^^^ Umm...Boss...your DQ'ed!!!

Contracts only mean something for the first year or two...after that there are always changes/releases. Thats the best part about the NFL. Washington on this team is WAY more valuable than milloy on this team. Washington is there to stop the run, which he will do very effectively for 30 plays a game, maybe more. People like to underestimate his talents and abilities because he is over 400lbs(listed at 370 I know but cmon). My whole point is that the Patriots Defense got much better in this offseason than they were last year. Milloy/Jones isnt much better than Harrison/Harris. Jones was insane overated IMHO.

If I had the choice to either have the combo of Harrisson/Harris, and have Colvin and Washington on my team...or having Milloy/Harris, amd not having Colvin and Washington on my team...I would take the Harrisson, Harris, Colvin, Washington set ANYDAY. THAT is what it came down to with the Patriots. Fact is they couldnt keep Milloy at his current salary without cutting some other needed player. When the rosters were set after the final pre-season game, they were AT the limit of the salary cap. On monday this week, there was the addition of other complicated salary crap that I am not getting into that put New England OVER the salary cap. That is why they wanted to cut some pay from Milloy to make it under the cap limit. When Milloy continued to refuse to do so as he has done in the past, Bellichick cut him outright. Thus bringing his team under the limit, AND sending a message to fellow overpaid teammate Ty Law(who is now thinking twice about not renegotiating his deal). Fact is they can still win, and arent losing much with the Harrisson signing(they signed him in case this happened in the first place) so the release of Milloy doesnt hurt the Patriots as much as some people want to believe. Now the signing for Buffalo is HUGE for that team. They don't have anything even close to Milloy's talent in their secondary and he is a monumental upgrade. Summary: BIG HUGE Gain for Buffalo, Minor loss for New England.

lol. When Bledsoe left I was happy. Why? Because Bledsoe has poor decision making in important games. Lots of people like to look back at the Steelers game in the playoffs in 2001. Bledsoe came in when Brady had an injury, and threw a nice TD pass. Well these people seem to think that without that happening the Pats would have lost that game. What they never mention was the near giveaway Bledsoe had because he got forced to make a decision too quickly. He lobbed the ball up for grabs where ANYONE could have picked it off. Luckily for him it fell to the ground, but still...he ALMOST cost the Patriots that game. Bledsoe is a fine QB, but not a great one because of that lack of quick thinking. Numbers are nice for Drew, except for the Int's of course. Therefore Drew leaving New England had a POSITIVE effect on the Patriots. Milloy leaving New England will have NO effect on the Patriots. That is my statement.
-
Exactly, and like I said earlier look at his numbers. He has been declining for a while now. Numbers aren't everything either, don't get me wrong there. I just don't get all depressed and bummed out about the upcoming season when Lawyer Milloy gets axed for not being a team player. Harrisson is just as good as milloy, albeit a bit old as well, and whomever takes over af the other Safety position will be no worse than the INCREDIBLY overrated Tebucky jones. So basically this team is about even at the Safety position as they were last season. With the Insane upgrades of Colvin, Warren, and Washington...and the imminent emergence of Seymour with that supporting cast, The Patriots still have one of the best overall Defensive teams in the NFL. THAT means alot.

Oh yes and the other lesson is..."Be a team player and take a damn pay cut, or play somewhere else you aging overrated has-been" I'm not bitter at all. Is it his fault that they offered him that contract and then couldn't manage the cap? I wouldn't take a pay cut when I sit and watch them pay all that money to Colvin and then take on Ted Washington's salary. Maybe he wouldnt have been the guy they wanted to re-structure if he was actually earning his money? 0 Interceptions 0 Forced Fumbles 0 Sacks Only good thing he did last year was his 90+ tackles which was only due to RB's blowing by the crap-O D-line last year. Lawyer was a great safety, and is still a GOOD one, but not worth 6 million anymore. If you want to win championships you need to have players who are willing to take some for the team and allow the team to bring in MORE talent. In the long run the Pats will benefit from the release of Milloy. Like now being able to re-sign a guy like Damien Woody to a long term deal this year(last year of his current deal. Look at Ted Johnson, Willy Mcginest, Tom Brady etc. They all accepted pay cuts to help the team afford more talent so they could remain competitive in a very strong division...cept the Jets of course

lol, don;t worry I already expect to finish 3-13 like the last time the Pats went 4-0 in the Pre-Season. /sarcasm Anyways. We all know the division will come down to Miami and New England. Buffalo is good, but not their time yet. They need a REAL quarterback who has some jersey recognition skills.

I love this! Nothing better than being able to watch Drew AND Lawyer get stuck on the Red Sox of the NFL.
