Bottom line is people will go to great lengths to protect their own fantasy made image of the people they look up to. Benoit isn't someone worthy of any kind of respect just because he was a excellent professional wrestler. What kind of person was he really? He is a murderer first and foremost. Its hard for me to look past that, which is why I can't really see myself bothering to watch any of his matches ever again. I saw the WM celebration when I was watching the Jericho interview and it just made me sick to my stomach. As for Austin, I don't see why he gets a free pass on the stuff he did to Debra. Criticism of her seems to fall into that blame the victim category. JMO.

Chris Benoit is and will always be a murderer. If a newletter such as the Wrestling Observer thinks its great to continue to glorify this man in some Hall of Fame, than that reflects on them. I think it's a wrong path, personally. Sometimes someone does something so depraved, so evil that you can't contunie to give him any accolades or tribute. Chris Benoit destroyed his own legacy, but his legacy is peanuts to the two lives he destroyed out of his own selfishness. Society is better off casting him aside and remembering him for what he is: A coward and a murderer. You can't separate the performer from the person, imo.

Chris Benoit was a sick fuck

Well, I guess we're waiting for the press conference to confirm what we already know.

I imagine the WWE knows more about the situation than we do. Taking down the testimonials is probably best. Who wants to have themselves on video talking up a guy... if, well, you know.

WWE should of waited to get all the facts. They may have just spent hrs making a murderer seem like a hero. I did notice at the end of the show, Jerry seemed nervous and directed the convo towards Nancy and their son and how people need to hug their loved ones.

I teared up when I found out about Owen. I fear I will not have any tears for Chris. I hope my fears are unfounded. I don't want to think the worst of him.

Its like OJ... people just pretend he was never a football player. I know Chris was a hell of a wrestler, but if all of this is true, I think RAW should end right now...

I feel so selfish about this, I want it to be something else. Carbon monoxide poisoning, the blood they were supposedly throwing up, a meteor hitting their house… anything but murder/suicide. I just don't want to think of Chris going out that way. You idealize wrestlers, you follow their careers, but you don't really know them. I have no idea what demons Chris had. I just hope it didn't cause him to go over the edge. At the end of the day, they are dead and it sucks. But if it was murder/sucide... man. I can't even think about it. As it is, RIP Nancy, Daniel, and Chris. --- Changes do need to be made in the WWE, though, I suppose that will keep for another day.

Stern is only one voice, a very boring voice at that. ESPN has been putting a negative spin on this all day long. I think the NBA did the right thing (rules are rules), I suppose, but I do think the rule will be changed because this is a travesty.
