Strangest place you've met a wrestler

Bryan Danielson and Davey Richards. Now, it started out somewhat pedestrian in the sense that it was at the SeaTac airport (they were heading to tour with NOAH whilst my friends and I were going to Japan as a graduation gift). So I met Danielson in the line to get on to the plane (it was 8 AM and I couldn't ID Richards for the life of me because I've never actually seen his work so I just knew he was DEFINITELY a wrestler but I couldn't figure out who for the life of me, so I waited for a moment where it was just AmDrag and I wouldn't have to be really awkward about just talking to him) and we just had a brief "Oh man, I'm a huge fan of your work." "Thanks a lot" exchange. ... and then the plane was delayed for an hour and a half. As such, we all missed our connecting flights. And when my friends and I made it to the line of people looking to get new flights/hotel vouchers, there they were again. I didn't talk to them because they were far ahead in the line, but it was still a little surreal seeing them hang out during this absurdly slow line (at one point Richards was doing a Hacksaw Jim Duggan impersonation to kill the time, I think). So finally, after all that was cleared up, we got our hotel vouchers, had a brief dinner, and got on the shuttle to head to the hotel... and Danielson and Richards got on like five minutes later. And this time Danielson noticed me and initiated conversation, so we ended up talking about stuff like amusement parks for the entire shuttle bus trip. Just a wonderful experience, he was incredibly cool (both of my friends, neither of whom were wrestling fans, thought he was pretty cool as well).

    Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Agreed. It could be DEATH really late into a match, admittedly, as it could very well ensure that whoever's playing Peach suddenly has a huge edge, but all things considered that doesn't mean it's interesting in the slightest.

    Crappy parts of good songs

Resurrecting this for "Good Life" by Kanye West. Specifically, the two lines where it suddenly switches from Kanye's voice to a super-slow, distorted voice for god knows what reason. Really jarring and cheesy and the only weak points of an otherwise excellent song.

    The Office: Season 4

Because he wants the money. He's not leaving without the 63 and change. I meant he should've just taken the pizzas and walked out, like he said he was going to do when Michael refused to pay $63. Which would have solved the problem that had arisen from ordering from the wrong pizza place in the first place. This was another example of Michael starting to become entirely too stupid, in my opinion, just like last week with the driving into a lake, which. It feels a bit like what happened to Homer Simpson, except in fast-forward. It's not that I disliked the episode last night; Angela, Dwight, and Andy made it worthwhile (as did Phyllis, Ryan, Stanley, and Kelly to a lesser exent), but I'm quickly starting to find Michael just outright unbearable this season, and not in the funny way.

    Pushing Daisies

Yeah, I thought so too. But it got entertaining enough once they worked the dog into the bit.

    The Boondocks Season 2

"This is going to be the worst day of your life. I'm bringing nunchucks." Good lord have I missed this show. Fantastic episode and a great way to start things off.

    Guilty Pleasures

John Mayer. I think I'm a bit of a sucker for dumb, pretty, relaxing music and whilst there are a lot of artists who fit the latter two aspects really well that I have no problem saying I like (Mirah, for example), I think John Mayer's music is thoroughly lame for the most part and yet I enjoy it anyway. Except for "Your Body is a Wonderland," that song was just fucking awful.

Man, they sure did capitalize on Lethal's upset win over Angle, didn't they?

    2007 PWI 500

Entirely too low, especially considering that Tenzan is in the top one-hundred despite having a huge slump this year.

Indy wrestlers need to tone it down a notch

This Danielson pirate has potential you know. There's just one thing missing. Do you guys reckon he could grow a beard? Didn't Danielson used to have a pirate gimmick back in the northwest? ... sorry. Carry on, as you were.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

It's been a while, now, but if I remember correctly Kid Kash was very big on telling people in interviews exactly what he thought of TNA and people in it whilst he was still on the roster, even. And a good deal of the time it wasn't anything good.

ECW/Smackdown Spoilers for the 9/4 and 9/7 airings

I forget, why does Morrison have the belt? Uh cause Chris Benoit went on a killing spree. Boy, nothing gets past you.

ECW/Smackdown Spoilers for the 9/4 and 9/7 airings

What a great pic. Fail to see how somebody who was handed a belt because the (then) champion was suspended=great picture. Should have given the belt to Burke, he's far more interesting than CM Punk is. But hey whatever, if you wanna ride his dick, go ahead. Yes, because that wouldn't have been completely random and out of place. I like Burke, don't get me wrong, but he's spent the past few weeks either losing or nearly losing to Balls Mahoney or being completely aimless ever since his feud with Punk ended.

    ROH CAGED RAGE results

Seriously. If anything, they've just gotten progressively worse. "The Resilience" is really lame, but at least it doesn't sound like it belongs on a children's cartoon.

    OAO ECW on Sci-Fi 8/28

The only thing about this promo that's been even vaguely amusing was "hoorah." But seriously, this guy is so dull.

    Reaper (CW)

Wait, what? EDIT - I checked it out on Wikipedia - I dunno. No Rube, a different Daisy, I'm not sure how to feel about this. Sara Wynter (Kate Warner from 24) now plays Daisy (who oddly enough was played by Laura Harris who played Marie Warner, Kate's Sister in 24) so the re-casting couldn't have really been any better. Really? She bored me to tears in 24 and I haven't seen her in anything else, so... ah. I dunno. Personally I think I would have much sooner just seen Daisy written out than played by someone else since Laura Harris' Daisy is a hard act to follow, but I dunno. I'll still probably buy it in any case, of course.

    oAo ECW on Sci-Fi -- 8/14/2007

Wear him down with strikes and impact moves that don't require lifting him in any way and then choke him out. Or hell, even invert the result here and have VISCERA lose by countout. Anything is better than having your number one contender get squashed by a guy who hasn't been important in... well. Has Viscera EVER been important?

G1 Climax and GHC Title shot tournament line-ups

I kind of hope that Tanahashi doesn't join GBH; with Tenzan taking time off and Koshinaka joining that legends unit, Makabe will finally be a proper, unquestionable ace for GBH (though really, he has been that way for a couple months now admittedly) and he doesn't need Tanahashi coming in and dividing that. What I wouldn't mind seeing, though, is a faction of Tanahashi, Milano Collection AT, Minoru, and perhaps a couple of other undercarders. With Black and CTU disbanded Milano is unitless and he's at his best with a decent unit (see Milano, circa Italian Connection in Toryumon versus Milano after they broke up in Dragon Gate), and he and Minoru make a good team that could easily be in contention for the Jr. Tag Titles. Honestly, the unit shakeup just makes New Japan even more appealing to me right now; in my opinion they're bar none the most interesting promotion in Japan to follow at the moment.

Just saw The Bourne Ultimatum, and Jason Bourne vs. Desh Bouksani is definitely worth mention. EDIT: ... wow, at the same time and everything.

G1 Climax and GHC Title shot tournament line-ups

Man, Makabe vs. Nagata looks to be just as bloody as their match at Korakuen last month, which was absolutely fantastic. I'm surprised at how well Yano's doing, though. Five points is three more than I was expecting him to get at best.

The winner. That fight was awesomely batshit insane.
