Matt Hardy speaks on he and Lita splitting
Mecha Mummy replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, he went from chipper and optomistic about the future to completely and totally bitter real quick. I can't wait to hear Jeff Hardy's soulful tune about Matt and Lita breaking up, though. That should be a good future torture weapon. -

Oh yeah, Recess! Recess was great. I still watch that occasionally if it's the middle of the day and I'm channel surfing. -
Remember when Daniels returned a week earlier than his videos were saying and he attacked Jarrett? That feud was money. Until Jarrett went over Daniels at every turn.

Oh, yeah. Though I haven't watched an episode of Sailor Moon in two years (and when I did it was because I was in Japan, it was 6:30 AM, and there was nothing better on), I kind of liked it until SuperS, which was total shit. -
That was awesome. Best episode since the first one. Highlights: - The ending of the Cabbage Patch Kids bit. - Ryan Seacrest actually voicing himself for the "Seacrest, out!" running gag. - Vomiting Steven Tyler.

Kim Possible and Totally Spies. When Kim Possible bad it's very cliche cartoon fodder, but when it's good, it's really good (see Coach Possible and every bit of dialogue Senor Senior Sr. and Jr. have in that episode). And Totally Spies, well, it's dumb fun. It's not good by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a decent enough timewaster if I've nothing better to watch. -
I think I need to see more of both to judge. I've only seen two Shinsuke Nakamura matches, against Hiroyoshi Tenzan and against Koji Kanemoto, but I had to note that it was pretty much the same match both times. So right now, from my limited viewing experience, I'd say Tanahashi's better.

Puma's good, but wow, this lineup could be much better. I mean, really, Rory Fox?

Hulk Hogan's HOF Induction to be Televised Live
Mecha Mummy replied to strummer's topic in The WWE Folder
They should really just do the whole thing in my opinion. How long was last year's HoF ceremony? -
I'm pretty certain it was just a gag/desperate grasp for publicity.

I always thought "The Real Slim Shady" was neck and neck with "Lose Yourself" as Eminem's signature song.

David Flair is second generation. Ditto Erik Watts. I enjoy Rene Dupree to an extent. I think he's got good heel charisma and the French Tickler is one of the best signature taunts in a while, but as a wrestler I just think he's so-so. However, considering his age, there's a lot of room for improvement with him and he's hopefully got a long career ahead of him where he can improve to the point where he'd be a viable uppercard/main event guy.

If I remember correctly, the writers hated Dr. Monroe, so they just stopped using him. On the "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" episode, the name of the hospital was the "Marvin Monroe Memorial Hospital," thus of course leading everyone to believe he was dead. They more or less said it themselves in the 138th Episode Spectacular. There was a trivia question asking "Which two popular Simpsons characters have died in the past year?" or something like that, and the answer was "If you guessed Marvin Monroe and Bleeding Gums Murphy, you're wrong. They were never popular."

Another one I liked was Maven vs. Christopher Nowinski from Heat around February 2003. That was like the best singles match I've ever seen either man in.

Most overrated/underrated writers & artists
Mecha Mummy replied to tbondrage99's topic in Literature
I wouldn't call Peter Milligan underrated. Milligan is insanely hit or miss. He's either writing off-beat, original gems like X-Statix or he's writting banal, cliche crap like anything involving Venom and Carnage. Dan Slott's very underrated, though. Very good writer. -
Oh god, I hope I have ESPN Classic.

My favorite random things were "This me. And this is Stalin. We're married!" and Jesus and Moses playing patty cake. I could've done without the second half of the Walt Disney thing, though, outside of the "Made by the Cuban Film Association" thing at the end.

Pretty much all of Spanky and Paul London's matches as a tag team were good, especially Spanky/London vs. Kanyon/Moore.

I really want to see an image of London. Almost makes me wish I had watched Velocity tonight.

Magnum TOKYO and CIMA are both in the Toryumon spin-off promotion Dragon Gate Pro Wrestling. Magu's the leader of the DoFIXER faction (which also features Dragon Kid, Genki Horiguchi, K-Ness (formerly known as Darkness Dragon, formerly known as MAKOTO), and the only member of Toryumon X to actually make it to the main roster, Naoki Tanisaki) which has more or less become the de facto top face stable, whilst CIMA, in the wake of the death of Crazy MAX last fall, turned heel again after years of being a face and formed Blood Generation with the only other remaining C-MAX staple Don Fujii (SUWA left in July to join NOAH whilst TARU left in October or so to go to All Japan), Naruki Doi (formerly T2P's Second Doi), and the first wrestler trained by the Dragon Gate wrestlers themselves as opposed to Ultimo, Shingo Takagi. I used to have the full DoFIXER dance on my computer but I don't have it anymore. However, you can find Magnum's theme at this url... http://degen.myrmid.com/m2k.html

Last Simpsons episode you truly enjoyed..
Mecha Mummy replied to King Cucaracha's topic in Television & Film
It was a couple seasons ago. I don't remember much of anything about it other than the fact that it had a Bumblebee Man gag. Might've had a heat wave in it, I can't remember. I remember seeing a rerun of it and thinking that maybe it was an older episode I just totally forgot about until I realized that it definitely wasn't. -
Ohhhh, is THAT what that music is? I heard it on extras on the Shaun of the Dead DVD (the plot holes and "Fun Dead") and I was wondering what it was so I could try and find it online. Robot Chicken was amazing. I've been disappointed with much of adult swim's newer programming but this made up for it.
-
Whoo, another season! Wicked awesome.
-
They don't want to have to pay all those music groups royalties by keeping the videos in the show. And, as great as B&B was, B&B without the videos loses a lot of the appeal. It's the same thing with Daria - every episode used no less than 5 licensed songs. Actually it's more like 12-15 songs per episode but they are mainly used as generic background music so they could easily be removed. Yeah, but replacing them with generic stock music would be a little disappointing since the song selections were always really good. But really, the only thing that would really be hurt is the credits (and then I guess they could just use the instrumental version of the opening theme like they did for the first few episodes).
