Eventually. They need to make a broadcast variant. DTV doesn't have access to that VOD shit where you can pretend to drive a Tivo over your cable line. Well, I saw ads for DirectTV that had something to do with TiVo-ish stuff, so maybe there's hope yet.

Toshiro Mifune.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHH I FUCKING HATE DIGITAL CABLE AND THE FACT THAT I'M INCAPABLE OF GETTING IT.
-
My god. If DirectTV isn't carrying it I will fucking scream. This looks so good.
-
Hunh. Next week's a good one for my wallet, as I can't see anything there other than maybe the PvP Dork Ages TPB that I'm interested in.
-
I could maybe see the Ring Crew Express showing up near the very end of the list.

One of my favorite memories of Bossman was when he came back in 2002 as Vince and Booker T's flunkie and on a Smackdown Booker T came into a room where Vince and Bossman were and declared that his new catchphrase would be "Who?" as an answer to Austin's "What?" catchphrase. Book runs it into the ground a few times and then leaves, and then after a beat of silence... Bossman: "... Who?" And Vince just sort of shrugs it off, both knowing that it's one of the worst catchphrase ideas ever.

Some of it is fucking hysterical (the stories Shirley Doe tells in particular), but some of them are just like "______ shit in _____'s ____", which ceased to be entertaining a long time ago. Still, it's worth reading. EDIT: I will say, though, that this is hilarious...

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
Mecha Mummy replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
The thread's turning into discussions previously found only amongst FanFiction.Net authors. -
Well... uhm... any publicity is good publicity...? Even if they used a guy who isn't even on the shows...?

All right, I'll bring a b-grade story of this stuff here... In 8th grade I did a project comparing the popularity of grunge music in the early 90's to the current state of J-Pop (Yeah, a bit random, but it was better than some of the other ideas I had for it), and the other students were supposed to take notes on the presentation to show they were paying attention. Apparently one of the girls had no idea who Nirvana was and referred to them as "Nell Vana."

Raj doesn't have personality? He's a sarcastic eccentric wiseass. He's easily the most entertaining guy on the show right now in my opinion.

PLASTIC MAN #10 $2.95 ASTONISHING X-MEN #5 $2.99 I know some people who like it. I myself can't afford the damn thing so it's not worth buying until the TPBs come out.

Ben Affleck to Host Season Premiere of SNL
Mecha Mummy replied to strummer's topic in Television & Film
Well, Affleck hosted one of the better episodes of the last season, so I'm all for him doing it again. -
At this point, the whole point of Smackdown is that it's completely fucking nuts. Or, at least, it seems that way to me. So Heidenreich reading a poem and Gangrel and Viscera returning just make it better, especially the Viscera part. I missed him and his dynamic "I'm totally wearing a garbage bag" look. Good job, Bruce Prichard, for keeping the insanity factor high.

Augh. Cage matches in this game are freaking aggrivating. I get to the top of the cage and suddenly I'm moving in slow motion choppy animation shit that gives my opponent like three minutes to get up. Jesus H. Christ.

I'm pretty sure it was Gotham Knights in the Hush follow-up story that didn't really accomplish much outside of that.
-
Actually, that was aired back in June. I saw it because I heard Usagi Yojimbo was gonna be in it, but alas it's just a small cameo so far. Maybe he'll show up again as the story progresses.
-
Loved it. The Plastic Man reference really put it over the top for me. Wonderful episode.
-
It wasn't bad. Some scenes felt like they ended a bit too abruptly, but the writers have a good handle on the characters and the Batman/Joker dialogue is very well-done.
-
I'll get Identity Crisis, and maybe New X-Men if I can afford it.

New Jack retires from pro wrestling
Mecha Mummy replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
I don't like New Jack as a wrestler, but he was bizarrely entertaining to watch, and I adored his segments with Shark Boy in TNA last year to the point where my sig for like a third of 2003 was various pictures of them. I'll never forget the surreal sight of New Jack wearing Hulk Hands and doing various Hulk Hogan poses and looking like he has no idea what the hell he's doing. I wish him the best in whatever he does from here on out. -
Well, okay, I'm going to try and make sense of it from a booking perspective; Vince McMahon gave Long the GM spot, so it's like a thank you from Long, and having a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. makes perfect sense when you think about Long's character.

1. Four issues. I guess that's nitpicking, but... *Shrugs.* 2. The villain is finally getting some character development and is becoming decent enough. 3. Resurrecting characters is a comic book trademark in itself. Just ask Green Arrow, Hal Jordan, the Creeper, Phoenix again and again and again, Aunt May, and the list goes on. I will agree with you that Astonishing isn't as good as Morrison's New X-Men run, though.

New Japan is heavily pushing the new 3 Musketeers (Shinsuke Nakamura, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Katsuyori Shibata) and Hiroyoshi Tenzan at the moment. Their major champion is Kazuyuki Fujita. NOAH hasn't particularly made any progress whe nit comes to pushing new people, as their top guys are Kenta Kobashi, Mutsuharu Misawa, Jun Akiyama, and to lesser extents Akira Taue, Yoshinari Ogawa, and Yoshihiro Takayama when he's working NOAH. Kobashi's their champ and has been for a while now. Keiji Mutoh, as All Japan booker, hasn't exactly done his best to put new poeple into the top spots. Their top guys are Mutoh himself, Toshiaki Kawada, Satoshi Kojima and oddly enough Jamal (yes, THAT Jamal). They're often using outsiders, though, such as Kensuke Sasaki, Osamu Nishimura, Katsushi Takemura, and Genichiro Tenryu. Kawada is the current Triple Crown champion. Meanwhile, Toryumon no longer exists, or not as it did a couple motnhs ago. The vast majority of the roster and the president Takashi Okamura separated from Ultimo Dragon and the Mexico training school and started their own promotion known as Dragon Gate (bizarre that they'd clearly namedrop the buy they're ditching in their promotion name). Their current top guys are CIMA, Magnum TOKYO, Shuji Kondo, Masaaki Mochizuki, and Milano Collection AT. CIMA is DG's main champion and ace right now. Someone else do the rest, that's all I've got.
