Jarrett squashing Psicosis is nauseating, but on paper this looks like the best Impact in weeks, even if Raven's forty second three-move matches are a complete waste of time.

... Don't those both apply to Tere Joyce? (Also, "the blonde who has no talent and is fairly humorless"). She'd be a pushover for ANYONE from either season, really. Say what you will about this year's final ten, but none of them sucked as much as Joyce, not even Ant. But they were new Vietnamese jokes until he brought back the urinal thing (and really, he could have brought back MUCH worse jokes, like the one about moving to the gay part of San Diego or whatever). Ralphie did the same jokes about being fat and Iraq. Hence, Dat had more new material.
-
Anyone else find it kind of sad that Dat had more new material than Ralphie apparently did?
-
Damn. Oh, well. At least a good guy won, even if I prefer Alonzo to John.

Something about reading this thread cracks me up.

Unless I have been horribly misinformed, "pro-wres."

Volumes of manga are getting cheaper. Initially Ranma 1/2 ones were about $16-$18, now they're being rereleased at $10.

I'm going to get things thrown at me for this, perhaps, but I think "Lovefool" by the Cardigans was a wonderful pop song with a simple, catchy chorus.

Well, did any of you go into the LCS1 finals thinking that Dat Phan was the obvious winner? I doubt it, especially after he completely exposed his own lack of material by reusing jokes he had done in the head-to-heads. I'm really REALLY happy that Alonzo made it in. I've liked him ever since I saw him at the semis when they were narrowing it down to twenty. However, he has some stiff competition in John and Gary for different reasons. John is a funny comedian. Even if he's using material I've seen before, it's still very good material that would probably be gold to many people who haven't seen him before. Gary, meanwhile, is like this year's Dat to me, except Gulman ALSO is good looking, or at least relatively good looking compared to the rest. Look at the similarities the two have. Both of them were targeted by alliances. Both of them survived two showdowns (though Dat's victories were far more surprising seeing as Gulman faced Ant and Jay, and Ant is rarely funny whilst Jay needs to get the audience going if his sets are to work at their best, whereas Dat faced Dave, one of the best comics in LCS1, and Geoff, who had been doing standup long before Dat). And, in my opinion, both have serious flaws in their material. Dat, as we all know, was limited to jokes about his ethnicity. And I'll be quite honest, some of them WERE really good jokes in my opinion, but therein lies the other problem; he didn't have a lot of material to begin with. You can only do so many jokes about being Vietnamese, and Dat had run out. (He apparently has new material NOW, but it's too late, the damage is done.) Gary, meanwhile, is like a less funny Seinfeld to me. His jokes are about things that are very minute and at some times, rather hard to emphasize with, unlike John or Alonzo who can pull that off. Oreos? Who cares? Gary Gulman: The Cookie Comic doesn't exactly seem like comedy gold to me. I'm very much hoping that Alonzo wins it. John winning wouldn't be bad either, perhaps a little disappointing to me, but I would like it. But if Gary wins I'll be quite disappointed.

Gary Gulman made it in? Bah. I still barely find him funny.

I haven't seen much of Sakoda's work, but I generally enjoyed it outside of his match on a UPW DVD where everyone, even Spanky, Kazarian, and B-Boy, were putting on subpar matches. So meh. Yang still hasn't been released so hey, maybe he'll get another shot. ... *Collapses laughing.*

They really should put those commercials online. Best PPV ad campaign in so long.

We'll be going to the zoo tomorrow, though. Last item you put on your credit card: Don't have one. Last item I put on my mom's credit card was a new DDR pad. Last beer you drank: Don't drink beer. All right. From favorite to least favorite... Alonzo Jay Kathleen Gary John Tammy Now, if you're wondering why John is so low, it's because I have seen this EXACT SAME ROUTINE before on his Comedy Central Special, and while it was rather funny then, it's not like routines like Carlin's Seven Words You Can't Say on Television where it's still funny after the first time you hear it. Alonzo, meanwhile, fucking KILLED. I have no doubt in my mind that he is definitely the best on the show, and if he loses I have a feeling it will be because during the reality show portion he didn't really get to do much other than be funny whilst both John and Gary were portrayed sympathetically (and I have nothing against either man, I think they're both funny, but the same thing happened with Dat Phan and look what happened), and perhaps Jay was too to some extent. But, shit, Alonzo is just awesome and I really, really hope he comes out on top.

"Super Uchu Power defeated Muscle Sakai (Yoshihiro Sakai wearing Naoya Ogawa’s HUSTLE suit) in 7:20 with an ankle hold. Sakai announced after the match that he was starting MUSCLE-1 soon and would have the first show at Kitazawa Town Hall. Sakai then did the MUSCLE dance." ... God bless DDT. That's all I have to say.

I was on the fence with this episode. I really enjoyed Green Arrow, but at the same time was mildly irked by Supergirl and indifferent on Captain Atom. But they put the emphasis on the right guy here and it was a decent enough start. Good for a first episode, anyway.

Am I the only one who finds it hysterical that the Diva Search twits are coming out to a song called "Walk Idiot Walk"? -
With some exceptions, of course. The Riddler, for instance, is aware that he's evil (in Knightfall he even refers to himself as being evil).

Any reason why there's no sign of Plastic Man? There are some awesome picks involved (Creeper and Booster Gold = Awesome), but it seems odd to me that someone like Plastic Man is being passed up for third-stringers (and really, as much as I like him, Creeper IS a third-stringer).
