And the winner of the Edge sweepstakes is....
Mecha Mummy replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
Stupid...stupid......stupid...... That is all I can think about when I hear this story. First off, why are they competing over talent??? They are the same company....christ, they sound like they are trying to work themselves......... Better roster with bigger stars = Better house show draws. = More money for talent. No wonder the workers are pissed. -

Okay. So you lose one of your top stars on Smackdown, but another is coming back. So logically, the best choice would be to put him on Raw. They're really asking for a miserable death, aren't they? -

My god. I'm almost drooling at the thought of Brock Lesnar vs. Yoshihiro Takayama or Brock Lesnar vs. Kenta Kobashi. Do it, Brock! Puroresu beckons!

Okay, THAT I'd pay to see.

I've never seen anything Barinholtz has done that's impressed me. And Josh is less funny than Seth, I've seen a lot of both and while Josh has the occasional good spot he's not like Seth, who seems to have more range and talent.

Mo Collins isn't really around. They have two skits left with her in it to air, but she really left midseason. And dear god is Aries unfunny now (of course, he generally seems to be mediocre when not working with Debra Wilson), hopefully Keegan Michael-Key, who is really great, will take over the token black guy spot next season. And yeah, there are a bunch of bland white guys in now. Basically, you've got Ron Pederson (does a GREAT Clay Aiken and Woody Allen but that's all he's really good for. Pretty decent impressionist.), Paul Vogt (Quite funny when given the chance to be.), Josh Meyers (SNL star Seth Meyers' younger, less funny brother), and Ike Barinholtz (pretty much good for nothing). Then you've got the female cast, which is incredibly weak in terms of primary cast members now due to Collins leaving. They've got three new featured players being groomed for a main cast spot in Nicole Parker (no way she isn't getting in; she's talented AND cute), Danielle Gaither (poor man's Debra Wilson), and Melissa Paull (rather unremarkable and blase). The highlights of the show right now are really just Bobby Lee, Keegan, Stephanie Weir, and to a much lesser extent Michael McDonald.

WWE Injury Notes: Haas, Jackie, Molly, Bubba, More
Mecha Mummy replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Shit, bad luck for Haas. Fuckin' Bradshaw, I don't think there's a single good reason to keep him around. -
He wasn't the best commentator but I heard him recently during a very old match and thought he did a solid job and wasn't as bad as some people made him out to be. Get well soon, Alfred.

"Last Dinosaur" by The Pillows. Used as the FLCL episode preview music, this song is very fun, upbeat sounding J-Rock. "G.W.D." by Thee Michelle Gunn Elephant. The M2K theme from Toryumon. Total badass stuff, especially the scream at the beginning.

I thought the episode was pretty good. The opening was the best opening I've seen this season, Firth was a good host, and Forte was ON as per usual with him. I, too, don't get why Ferrecito is so funny. It's the same skit repeated ad nauseam. Horatio was surprisingly good in it, though.

Mutoh's fascination with Jamal irks me. This looks decent, since I'm guessing Omori and Tenryu will be the Xes and that will rock.

WWE media appearances before Wrestlemania
Mecha Mummy replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
Yeah, Cena was really bad in that one. He wasn't so bad the first two times he had to freestyle on radio on different shows, though. -
Come for the wrestling, stay for the rest
Mecha Mummy replied to The Czech Republic's topic in No Holds Barred
I'm split between both right now, I generally start at the TV/Movies board and then skim through a couple of the wrestling boards. But I would have voted La Parka if I had seen it there in time. -
... Who the hell is Antonio Sabato?
-
You know, I could have sworn that they said something really wacky like "Any cruiserweight can enter" yet the entire cruiser division isn't even in it. I'm looking forward to the match, it could be fun spot madness, but this does irk me a little.

^ Name reminds me of "One After 909" and I love the Beatles.

WWE Surprises People With Latest Talent Cut
Mecha Mummy replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Wow, I am surprised. Look at how surprised I am. Shocking. Well, thank god they DIDN'T go with the illegitimate daughter thing, anyway. -
I don't actually think I've heard any of Hikki, but I like Ayumi. "Trauma" is a really good song. Though she doesn't compare to L'arc~en~Ciel, Luna Sea, or The Pillows.

Judassault was inspired by someone from the Ladder Legdrop thread, I can't remember who.
-
^ Is apparently for the Mets as opposed to that other team in New York.
-
Actually, just as good, if not better, for him would be the earlier Beatles stuff when it was just bluesy rock. I think he'd knock a cover of "That Means a Lot" right out of the fuckin' park.

I don't remember the actual name of the song, but I believe there was a song by The Gits about being raped. And then Mia Zapata was raped and killed.
