Luna Sea - Forever and Ever

That was actually SNL, not MADtv.

That shit list thing makes me crack up, especially Green Lantern Fan being on it. Is this serious or intended as a joke? *Sees image of Ted Hart's head superimposed over Tony Montana.* Wellp, that answers my question.

I'll do mine just for the hell of it. 2003 - Chicago over Gangs of NY, The Hours, LOTR TTT, The Pianist (my pick: At the time Two Towers, but now I'm leaning towards Pianist.) 2002 - A Beautiful Mind over Gosford Park, In the Bedroom, LOTR Fellowship, Moulin Rouge (my pick: Fellowship.) 2001 - Gladiator over Chocolat, Erin Brockovich, Traffic, Tiger & Dragon (pick: Traffic) 2000 - American Beauty over Cider House Rules, Green Mile, Insider, Sixth Sense (pick: Green Mile) 1999 - Shakespeare in Love over Elizabeth, Private Ryan, Thin Red Line, Life Is Beautiful (pick: Private Ryan) 1998 - Titanic over As Good As It Gets, Full Monty, Good Will Hunting, LA Confidential (pick: As Good As It Gets) 1997 - English Patient over Fargo, Jerry Maguire, Secrets & Lies, Shine (pick: Jerry Maguire) 1996 - Braveheart over Apollo 13, Babe, Il Postino, Sense and Sensibility (pick: Braveheart.) 1995 - Forrest Gump over Four Weddings and a Funeral, Pulp Fiction, Quiz Show, Shawshank Redemption (pick: There was pretty much no way they could fuck this up. My favorite was Shawshank but all on the list are great.)

I'm astonished that Anglesault hasn't showed up yet and dismembered you people for suggesting something that even remotely makes Kurt Angle look comedic.\ Amusing idea, though.
-
Holy shit. How did THE BOONDOCKS get picked up by FOX of all places? Either this will turn out like Daria did and be a success DESPITE being on a network that exemplifies what the show criticizes, or it'll be totally neutered and be more about Riley than Huey. With any luck this will turn out great, though, especially if Aaron's writing it.

I hope you're not talking to me, since I didn't bitch about your bitching at all. It's directed at Mole, not you.
-
But, see, that's your opinion. What if, say, that Academy Awards (I'm guessing it was 2000, wasn't it?) happened last night and other people on this board vehemently disagreed with American Beauty disagreeing? Then would you go into "TSM is NEVER happy" stuff because they don't like what went down?

"The name Sid Vicious did not come from the Sex Pistols. The name came as a joke by his friends. Sid had gone on vacation and returned and his friends got him a shirt that said, “Welcome Back Sid Vicious.” " Technically it probably DID come from the Pistols, then, but not directly. I don't see how they could made a Sid Vicious joke WITHOUT referring to the Pistols. Oh, and I actually listened to an interview with Sid once. He's surprisingly well-spoken and laid back for a guy who always came off as a moron.

To be fair, has there ever been a Best Picture winner who NOBODY has disagreed with in recent memory?
-
Have you seen Catch Me if You Can? That movie completely cancelled out my loathing of him.
-
Yup. I don't think there's any way Passion WON'T win, it has pretty much every credential...
-
Well, at least geeks around the world have something to be proud of for once. And if only it WAS the best in every category it won, huh? I mean, that Annie Lennox song totally didn't blow chunks and pale in comparison to everything else, even the Sting composition that didn't seem to have any coherence whatsoever. I'll bite my tongue and give LOTR fanboys this year. Shit, I'd never think that I'd be ANGRY about LOTR winning things, but here I am.
-
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. That was the most monotonous, painful experience ever. Not even Will Ferrell and Jack Black could alleviate the pain that award show caused me. I wouldn't mind LOTR winning Best Picture and Best Director if it hadn't also won EVERY OTHER FUCKING CATEGORY IT WAS NOMINATED FOR JESUS CHRIST.
-
Nowhere near the star power of the previous Super 8s, but I like the field here for the most part. Never seen Aries or Kruel so I can't comment on them. Daniels is Daniels, I.E. super of the good, Nicho should be entertaining enough, Walters is pretty good and almost undoubtedly going to win this thing, and the Havana Pitbulls are a damn good tag team, though I don't know how they'll do in singles. Should be pretty solid all in all.

The Razzies is a case of great concept, horrible execution most of the time. See Chris Walken being nominated for Worst Supporting Actor because he was famous and in a bad movie, rather than actually being bad in it.
-
That was a damn good match, IMO. Hennigan looked great and Cappotelli showed potential but still looks awkward. I'd like to see Hennigan more regularly at the least.
-
Mmmmhmmm. Certainly not because it was the most famous movie nominated in this category. Riiiight. I can't really argue with most of these, but how Cat in the Hat beat Real Cancun or Justin to Kelly (wasn't that nominated) I will never know. Okay, wait, I DO, but blech.

The Great American Celebrity Spelling Bee
Mecha Mummy replied to Karnage's topic in Television & Film
I saw clips of it on Best Week Ever last night. "Turcoque"? -
I still love the old school opening to the Royal Rumble where Vince would announce the 30 guys that were going to be in it. As for bad quotes, how bout when he told Bischoff to "grab Raw by the throat and choke the life out of it!" AND force it to spray phleghm all over Raw. God bless how thoroughly nuts Vince is.
-
You're all forgetting VINCE's rendition of "Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye," where he went COMPLETELY INSANE and starting strutting around the ring.

Watch Over 1 Hour Of The Best Of AJ Styles In TNA
Mecha Mummy replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
The first two matches aren't that good, but the third one certainly is. Good idea by TNA. -
Me too. What the hell is Amber doing here? She's doing the exact same thing as last time. Attaching herself to someone and just doing whatever they tell her to. She's one of the worst Survivors ever. They were shooting for Colleen or Elisabeth to be the obligatory cute girl, but both declined.
-
I disagree with you there. I don't see what's wrong with Brian O'Halloran or Jeff Anderson's acting, really. And I'm sort of in the same boat as Rudo. Family Guy was really funny to me, oh, two, three years ago. Now it's just eh. The episodes don't hold up well. Oh, and Undergrads was pretty funny, primarily Cal.

New Iron Chef America series on Food TV
Mecha Mummy replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
Morimoto better beat the fuck out of the Food network chefs. He is the epitome of pimp.
